The Hunter
Name: Jake Cross Gender: Male Age: 22 (as of this year) Height: 5' 8" (as of this year though he probs won't grow anymore...) Rank: Hunter
Division: Death - The "intelligence" operation, in charge of gathering information and maintaining the network of Hunters. They gather the information prior to a mission.
Personality: Jake is a bit of a hot-head, and tends to get into fights... a lot. Or more, he just likes stirring up trouble to cause fights. He's really stubborn and ignorant, and prefers doing things his own way, albeit how wrong it may be. Despite this, he understands his limitations (most of the time), and will learn to restrain from making TOO much of a mess (and if not, Chester will usually give him hell about it). If given an order, he WILL follow it, albeit grudgingly, and you can always expect him to complain/bicker about some trivial stuff, but he'll get the job done.
It's still a bit of a mystery why he's in the death division, considering he prefers fighting over... well, other stuff. But he's not COMPLETELY stupid (no really). He understands that unless he learns to expand his horizons on these creatures of fear, his role as a hunter would be very short-lived. That, and he may be one of the few able to tolerate Caelius. Just maybe.
His Story: Jake never really knew his parents. He was left on the streets of Rio de Janeiro to fend for himself, and, well, it wasn't hard to see he soon got mixed up with the wrong crowd. Gang wars and violence soon became ingrained into his life, and all he really knew was how to fight. To not fight, was to die.
He'd leave each fight battered and bruised, each new scar seeming to fade with time. In one fight, however, he had encountered something... different. He had seen it too late. A creature of fear had been lurking, waiting. Apparently, scaring wasn't enough for it. It sought... more. It slaughtered the two he was fighting with, and left Jake with a permanent scar over his left eye.
After this incident, Jake earned both fear and respect among the rest, though this mostly turned to fear as nearly every fight he was involved in, his opponent ended up dead. This was, of course, due to the Halloween creature that none but Jake could sense. He was soon dubbed "demon child", and was rejected and scorned by the rest. Fearing he would kill them if they let him be, the rest of the gangs teamed up on him, beating him brutally and leaving him nearly dead in an alley.
He pretty much would of died, if it weren't for a woman seeming to take a shortcut through said alley, despite knowing the things that went on in the area. Upon seeing Jake, she quickly dropped to her knees and half carried/dragged him back to her home. There, he was nursed back to health, and sheltered from the horrible, violent life he once led. Through her, he began to trust, and it was through her, that he began to learn more about these creatures of fear, though at the time, he only dismissed it as something in a child's horror story.
This life was not to last though, and Jake's past soon came back to haunt him. The woman was murdered, and Jake had to flee for his life. However, he hadn't forgotten about the woman's kindness, and he ran straight back into the alleyway, where the creature lurked. His assailants never saw it coming. Only then did he really run. He ran, and ran, and never looked back.
Reason for becoming a hunter: Jake still blames himself for the woman's death. If only he had never met her, she wouldn't of died. If only he had never seen that creature, he wouldn't of been beaten nearly to death, and she never would of found him. He was weak. He couldn't do anything.
So when offered the chance to become a hunter, he didn't think twice. Hardships? Suffering? Death? BRING IT ON. He already considered his life already a living hell, and he had nothing to lose, not anymore, so if given the chance to re-live it, to harness that power he so desperately wanted, then why not?
It wouldn't erase his past sins, but surely this was what the woman would of wanted? He didn't really care about the whole "save mankind" thing. If only he was able to save her... This would be his burden to carry. For her sake.

The Weapon
Name: Chester Nickname: N/A (Tends to be whatever offensive term Jake thinks of at the time) Gender: Male Species: Nergal Weapon form: Bladed Tonfas Unsummoned form: A keyring with two keys, often clipped to the side of Jake's sash.
Personality: Quiet and observant. He's pretty much the opposite of Jake, and is often telling telling the temperamental boy what and what not to do, much to the latter's annoyance. One can say he acts as the "voice of reason" to Jake (though Jake will vehemently disagree), and, well, without him, Jake probably wouldn't last very long on the field.
He's one of the few who can tolerate Jake's snarky attitude, and at times, even respects him for it, since he's usually, if anything, brutally honest with how he feels about something (though agreeing with it is another matter). Despite how often Jake lashes out at him, Chester is nothing but loyal to the boy, and will do his best to protect him if needed.
Rarely anything gets on Chester's nerves, though if something does, it'll be quite apparent (a reaction Jake seems to always be trying to induce). This usually tends to be when Jake ignores an order he should follow (this usually doesn't happen), when he puts himself in harm's way (something that happens quite often), or if he refuses to help out other hunters when needed. He considers the other hunters as somewhat of a family, and only wishes that Jake would learn to see this too with time.
Fear Attack: T3 Double Take T2 Swift Strike T2 Barrier
His Story: Being a pure-blood, there were high expectations from Chester, expectations he had no problem fulfilling. He attended classes, got great marks, and was exceptional at scaring.
All of this changed though, during one of his trips to the human world. He had no trouble scaring young children, who would all scream in terror and flee at the sight of his natural form. All... except one.
It was a young girl, probably no older than 8, and instead of fearing him, she treated him as a friend, a pet. This both intrigued and infuriated Chester. Never before had this happened, and Chester was beginning to think he was losing his touch. But every single time he visited the human world again, he had no problem scaring others, children and adults alike. All except that one girl.
Curiousity overpowering his better judgement, he decided to investigate this, and found out that the child lived a harsh life. She was shunned by her parents, and had no friends, all because of special "gift" to being able to see shadows, which... may or may not of been made worse with Chester's frequent visits in hoping to scare her. Taking pity on her, Chester did something that no student should of ever done.
He befriended the child.
Needless to say, his family soon found out, and disapproved of this immediately, trying to convince Chester to stop this foolishness. Chester paid no heed though, and to teach him a lesson, they brutally murdered the child, taking care to dispose of her body discreetly. To her guardians, it would only seem as if she had finally decided to run off, or gotten "taken by the shadows", and considered it a blessing to finally not have to deal with this anymore.
Chester, however, was mortified. Everything he had done, was for his family. To honour them, to show them he was worthy of the title he was given, to prove to them that he was capable of anything. Yet in the end, it was never enough. He would never live up to their expectations. And because of the foolish decision he made, the child paid a terrible price. He would never forgive himself for this.
Reason for becoming a weapon: When hunters invaded the school and captured students, luring them with promises of power, Chester had all too willingly went with them. Even when he found out their purpose was to become nothing more than "weapons" for humans to wield, to be used against their own kind, Chester still allowed himself to be weaponized with no hesitation.
Strength, power. Of course he had wanted this. The power to break free from his bonds. The power to take back what he had lost. The power to help another... another human from suffering the same fate as that child. If becoming a weapon would let him do this, then he would accept it.
Even after being weaponized, as all these past thoughts and feelings became just a distant memory, he still had the urge to protect. To help. One day, he would help the one who wielded him. To protect them from suffering the same fate. He never wanted to see humans suffer again.
