She was never going to stop asking. Ever.It had been a while since she'd harassed Jake about anything, and yet, even if he was hunter, he still had his duties. As she had her's. And one of her self mandated duties was to make sure he did one of his in particular. So now, at 3 pm, she stood at his door knocking, yet not introducing who she was. He might have tried to run out his window if she did.

Good thing he had no desire to jump out the second floor.
Had he known who it was knocking at the door and what her intentions were, he might have considered it. At least, the old him might have. But now, he was leaning to be more acceptive of stuff, which meant dealing with tiny hunters bugging him about mundane tasks. And alas, he could not see through wood.
Getting up from his desk, he opened the door, wondered why no one was there, and then remembered to look down. Silence. "Yes I have been doing my reports and no you may not stare at me doing them."

" What." She gave Jake an immediate offended look. Both for the fact that he had to look down to see her, and at the idea she'd ever has stared at him. No, she'd just been making sure he held up to his word was all. "I've never done anything of the sort. Watched you maybe, but I've never stared. Staring is rude you know, as is forgetting that not everyone is blessed with being tall..." Oh genetics, she would be forever bitter at you. "But how did you know that was why I came to visit. Are you spying on me?" She narrowed her eyes at him. Suspicious. His secret spying. Or her just being oh so very predictable.

Jake stared some more, frowning. And then he broke into a chuckle because staying mad at Solia was kind of hard. Plus he wasn't really mad. Wow how much he had changed.
"Sorry, sorry. It's just been a while since I've seen you. Glad to see you're chipper and well." Really, he had so few friends, so it was a blessing in disguise when he saw them again after such a long time, because that usually meant they hadn't died.
"No. I believe that's your forte. But ok, I'll bite. If you didn't come here to harass me about reports, then what did you come for?" He meant it in no disrespect, but, well, asides from Sherry, people didn't normally seek him out for no reason whatsoever.

He was laughing. That was a good sign. Laughter meant he didn't see her as some threat which meant yes, She could do some ~investigative work~ of her new sempai. "It has been a long while. Too long! I had almost thought you'd forgotten of me, and your mission reports but no, I've seen them. I have been checking." She had. Jake had been very good to deliver as he said he would. Stepping into his room with no invite, (as she had done in the past), Solia grinned, spinning to face him. And started to clap he hands excitedly. "You became a full hunter! Congrats Jake! Have you gotten a specialization yet? Any neat missions on the horizon? New connections?" She was all smiles. "How does it feel to be my superior for a change?"

Another laugh, and he shook his head. "No, I don't I could forget about you even if I wanted to." Seriously. He couldn't stare at a mission report without envisioning her peeking over his shoulder and whispering "Mission reportsssssssssss". He was imagining it right now. It was kinda creepy.
"Um, thanks... I... sorta?" He rubbed the back of his head, not quite sure how to respond. It wasn't as if he had ASKED for that specific specialization, but...
"Not yet." That answered both her questions, right? Unless she counted patching things up with Sherry a new connection.
"I... wait, what?" He turned to look at Solia, giving her a puzzled look, and then it slowly sank in. "... oh. D-don't look at me like I'm your superior. I hardly fit the role."

It was oddly.. nice and somewhat reassuring to hear that she was memorable at least. "I am glad to have been someone of such merit! Or of merit still. Ah, you know what I mean oui?" She hoped he did. He seemed like he did at any rate. "Ohhh well, get on those connections Jake! You're a hunter now! We deaths have to..you know, be very clever, use others- or just avoid getting ourselves killed by Caelius. Personally I just want to find a way to make things better. It's hard to do when you feel like one wrong move and-" Her finger was drawn across her neck. "The irony of our division is... deep isn't it?" She wondered if it even mattered to him. "But as stands, you are my superior. I can't boss you around. Ah, it was good while it lasted I suppose."

"...yes." She probably didn't need to know it was less merit and more... well...
"...Yes." This he said with a sigh, knowing all too well about Caelius' ruthlessness. At least, enough to know that the man was one not to be crossed. Though, if something good ever came out of it, he had to admit it had made him more aware of things around him, and... who he was now? Whether that was a good or bad thing, he wasn't sure.
Part of him wondered if anything would have changed if he had accepted the fragment's offer. Something told him he was better off not finding out.
He shook his head, still frowning. "Solia, it's fine. If anything, I'm... glad you did." He hated to admit it, but it was true. He'd be drowning in mission reports by now if she hadn't.

She didn't really pay attention to any lags in speech, to the pauses of changes in tone or hints that maybe, just maybe, Jake wasn't as loud as he used to be and maybe she didn't have to be so active around him. Mostly, Solia was just happy to hear he'd become a hunter. Even if she'd also come to investigate. Which if anything, made her curious as to why he'd changed. "Glad I was bossy? Now that's a new one Jake. I'm pretty sure the old tactic was jumping out windows to avoid me though- She scoot by him, still ever intruding. "Jumping from here hardly seems ideal. FEAR shield or not, the impact would crack or at minimum fracture something. Plus depending on how one lands, the resulting injury could prove more severe than that. Head first has been survived.. Mostly by Mark I think." She sighed. "I don't even GET that one. And he's just barely more tolerable then Caelius, if because of different reasons."

He frowned at her accusation, about to object that such a thought had never crossed his mind. Or, at least, he'd never do such a thing. Jumping through windows took too much effort.
"Yeah, Mark..." Granted, he had never seen Mark getting tossed out a window or tossing himself out a window, but it wasn't something hard to imagine, given what he knew about him and the death lead. "Sometimes I wonder if either of them are even human." Or maybe Mark just made a lot of clones of himself and Caelius normally took them out on a regular basis as mere entertainment. There were probably more possibilities, but it was a can of worms he really didn't feel like opening.
"Speaking of Caelius though... how did you... find that meeting?"

Solia shrugged, saying her first thought on the matter- "They're old- clearly having been exposed to FEAR for so long they're mutants. Not quite X-man level but getting there." All they needing was Caelius with lazer eyes stare. Death to all. Fiddling with her ring, Solia's expression shifted to a frown. "Bad. It was like a choke hold- we're limited, and on top of that needing to find a way to free ourselves from the likely inevitable." Little they could do but try to work around it. "It's going to cut drastically into my own proposal unless I work very carefully around it. I can't really imagine how it must be for you hunters though- trainees have it lighter in a way but still, it won't be easy to shake off."

Jake laughed, but it was more of a half-hearted laugh, seeming to say "Oh god we're all screwed if that's true."
His expression also shifted to a more solemn one at Solia's frown. "Yah. You'd think being a hunter is better, but with the expectations and responsibilities, I almost wish I was still a trainee." Almost.
He gave Solia a quizzical look when he went over what she said once more. [colol=teal]"Proposal?"

She brightened when he asked of her proposal. "Oh yes! It's a rather complex project but my aim is to see if weapons retain emotional bonds and certain mental keys which could help us scout possible weaponization candidates. That, and, on top of the scouting, it might help to expedite the process in which we have hunters bond with their weapons; if we can find core elements that resonate with both, the process can move a lot faster and smoother, providing better long term bonding benefits!" She bounced in place. "I also would get to meet a bunch of weapons and talk to them!~ How fun would that be?" She looked at him. "What do you plan to do? About the lock down or just..in general? Anything you're working on?"

"Emotional... bonds?" He frowned slightly at the mention of weaponization, that he himself had considered walking down that path. But after everything that had happened, he wasn't sure if it was a feasible idea, and the fact that Solia had wanted to take it up made him worry slightly.
"Well, talking to weapon golems might not be... all that bad, but I'd still suggest you watch out. Some might... still be bitter about the whole weaponization thing." Or some could just be bitter as is, but he figured she'd understand. At least, he hoped. None of them would be allowed to act violently... right?
"Um..." He scratched at his head, indicating that he hadn't quite put much thought into it. "I'm... not too sure. I don't have any active plans as of yet, but... I do kind of want to look into this whole Ourbouros thing." Of course, it didn't help that he had been nearly truant for the missions regarding them but hey, it was never... too late to catch up... maybe...

She laughed at the idea. It just came out loud and dismissive. "Oh come on Jake. Do you really see a hunter with a bitter weapon? Much less one they'd put in a golem? But yeah! Like Isra gets all riled when he sees certain things but doesn't know why much less how those feelings came to be." She grinned. "Using that I've kind of narrowed down facts about his ties to Amity- and how it can help location other potential candidates. It's kind of like a backwards way of routing out the best key factors which would make the best most compliant weapons. If all goes well we'll I'll have a trial run by next year!" It was an ambitious goal, but one she was excited to do. "Ourbouros though... I think most of the mission documents with them have gone blank." She frowned, leaning towards Jake, face set. "You want to go digging in the dung Jake? Things be mad crazy with The O folks." She showed him the brand. "They mad serious bout their deal."
