OOC INFORMATION
Part 1: Information
As teams head out to designated locations, Dakota has mentioned leaving three clues/pieces of information in each spot. Please roll 1d100 and match your results to the prompt below! You need 3 pieces of information to move on to the next stage! You can do this in the same thread, or in a PRP. If you do it in another thread with your team members, please be sure to exit this one, and then when you are finished, enter back in with the link to the rp!

There is no time limit, as this is just a training! Once everyone has finished, I will post part 2!

1-25: You find nothing of importance!
26-39: You find 1 clue! After this clue is found, it cannot be found again! (meaning if you roll any of the numbers again, it counts as only 1 clue for the team.) The clue states: This use to be the location for Argus testing on the field. Thick palms and questionable enemies.
40-59:: You find nothing of importance
60-81: You find 1 clue! After this clue is found, it cannot be found again! (meaning if you roll any of the numbers again, it counts as only 1 clue for the team.) The clue states: It is the only spot in the Island that is uninhabitable. Hunters tend to stay away from it.
82-90: You find nothing of importance
91-100: You find 1 clue! After this clue is found, it cannot be found again! (meaning if you roll any of the numbers again, it counts as only 1 clue for the team.) The clue states: One person was seen heading into the Jungle with training equipment and has failed to return.

Sherry contemplated their assignment as they walked toward the towns. "I wonder how difficult this will be? Do you two suppose we should split up? I mean, the towns aren't huge, but if the clues are small...." She glanced down the path as they came closer to their destination.

"Especially if we are going for that win." Hanna was flashed a quick grin. "We have the headsets, and can cover more ground. What do you guys think?"

The question was posed just as they got to the edge of what was usually considered 'town'.

Hanna fell in line beside Sherry and Jake, moving with a calm but urgent air toward the towns. "That sounds logical to me," she said, seconding the plan to split up. "There is no real danger factor for us in this situation. Small numbers, cover more ground, sounds aces, commander." Her voice brightened on 'commander,' light and joking.

A hand raised to point a finger off to the right. "I can take the eastern edge over to the main road. Jake, want to take west? And then Sherry," she gestured toward the swath of space directly in front of them, "in the middle? If we move in a grid, we should be able to cover every nook and cranny."

Jake nodded, acknowledging that the idea of splitting up would be best if they wanted to cover more ground faster, but even then... even if there was no potential "danger", he still felt a bit uneasy, and cast a sideways glance at Hanna.
"Sounds good, but don't hesitate to call out at the first sign of danger."
JUST IN CASE. One could never be too prepared.

Sherry had to grin. She didn't think she:d ever been called 'commander' before. For half a heartbeat she'd thought she'd perhaps overstepped, but then she realized the way it had been said. And she did kind of like it. At least right then, when they were not really marching off to the Sahara or their deaths or anything. Nope. This was a nice little training exercise. Probably safe, probably fine.

"I like that plan," she said, nodding and looking down the path in front of them. "Nice and orderly." Not to mention easy to follow.

She glanced at Jake, adjusting her headset while she did. "Yeah. There could always be something lurking. We'll just keep in contact. Updates and such." Which would be easy with the headsets.

Certain she couldn't fiddle with her gear any more, she grinned at each of her companions in turn. "Let's be off." And with that, she went on down the path, leaving them to their own.

Sherry did her very best to watch the path before her. Looking this way and that. Just...what would these clues look like? She really had no idea. Pausing to check over a pile rubble (an old wall) she found nothing. Same thing at the next old structure, and then the next. Maybe she'd need to poking around in old houses? Oh, dear. That would take ages. Surely Dakota wasn't that mean.

It was when she came to something that might have been a shed at one time that she found something. There, taped to the inside of an old, rusted door that was stuck partially open, was a piece of paper.

Sherry turned her headset on. "Hey guys! I think I found one!"

Hanna gave the pair a quick salute and then began to move toward her end of the towns. She checked in all nooks and crannies, even climbing up onto roofs to fish around in gutters. Unfortunately, she was finding a whole lot of nothing. The edge of the gutter scraped against her stomach as she slid back down to the ground with a thud.

In her ear, Sherry reported the good news. "See, this is why you're in charge," she said, rounding the building she was currently searching and heading for another. "Not so lucky here. What does the clue say?" Maybe Hanna could think about it while searching.

Jake hadn't gone far when he heard the headset crackle, Sherry's voice coming in clear.
"Nice work!"
It seemed he didn't have to ask what it was, as Hanna already proposed that question, so he continued looking also, checking the ground and miscellaneous cracks to see if one of the clues could have been stuck inside.

He finally managed to find one underneath a trash can (why was it even there?), and pulled out the slip of paper, frowning as he read it.
"I think... I found one also."

"It is the only spot in the Island that is uninhabitable. Hunters tend to stay away from it," she read into the mic, her voice carrying a hint of perplexed. "That's all it says, and it was all luck that I found it." Really, Hanna was giving her too much credit. "It was on the inside of an old shed door, if that helps you guys."

She was folding her paper back up when Jake reported his finding. "And what does yours say?"

Two down? One to go?

Sherry stared at the shed a moment longer, while she waited to hear more.

The Death trainee listened carefully as Sherry read off the clue. "The ocean, maybe? Insanity monsters there... People go to the beach sometimes to search, but not the water. Maybe the Cove? Wait, not the Cove. Hunters don't stay away." She thought out loud, tracking down more answers in her mind a bit better than she was doing in person.

Then Jake chimed in that he had one too.

Okay, why was everyone finding clues but her? They were the dream team... minus Hanna. "Okay, guys, now I think you're just showing off," she said, increasing the diligence of her search. She spotted a corner of paper and darted forward to snatch it up. "Oh wait, I found... never mind. False alarm. Gum wrapper."

Her mind strayed back to Sherry's clue.

He paused a moment as he listened to Sherry's clue, frowning slightly as he compared it to his.
"Mine says... 'One person was seen heading into the Jungle with training equipment and has failed to return.' Do you think they could be connected?"
Truth be told, he didn't know too much about the jungle, though it was probably because he had never really paid attention during briefings, but the jungle was a place they often didn't tend to frequent.
... Did anyone even GO to the jungle? Wasn't it infested with something? He really should have paid attention.

"I found mine underneath a trashcan, so... I don't think there's any specific places to look. Just... keep an eye out?"
To be honest, Dakota probably shoved the clues about haphazardly. It was a miracle they were able to find ANYTHING in this huge place.

Hanna listened to Jake's clue, but continued to cover ground in her area. Maybe they had hidden one clue in each sector of the towns, which meant hers was going to be discovered next? It would be so embarrassing to find nothing and solidify her place as weak link, at least in her own mind. "Maybe all three answers together are the answer, but each are a different link. Who went into the Jungle and did not return?" she asked, still searching with a vengeance.

The jungle? Hmm....

"I think you're right," Sherry said in response to Hanna's words. "And I have no idea. I wonder what kind of training equipment they took with them." Hanna was probably right. They probably needed all three pieces of the puzzle in order to figure anything out. "It does seem to be pointing us at the jungle. Maybe."

Really, it was hard to tell. Sherry shrugged and continued on, leaving her little shed behind. She passed a house that looked like someone might be fixing it up, and she examined an old flowerbed and birdbath. Did the island even have birds? She knew pets were not encouraged, and the ocean wildlife was not pleasant... Sherry turned away before her mind could dwell thoughts and visions of monster sparrows attacking from above.

She passed another building, or what used to be the porch of one. Something fluttering in the breeze caught her eye. A paper on the stair, held in place by a rock. "Hm." It was worth checking out, so she went to it and lifted the stone.

"Hey guys, I think I found another one."

"This use to be the location for Argus testing on the field. Thick palms and questionable enemies," she read, making sure the others could hear. "Does that sound like a clue?"

Her section of the towns was mostly empty. Hanna picked through a small garden, checking under watering cans, on doors, under rocks, but everything came up empty. She had just started down another road when Sherry's voice buzzed to life on her headset. "Definitely a clue," Hanna said, a sigh touching her voice. "I'm pretty sure that officially makes me the mascot to the dream team." Making light of it was easier than feeling disappointed.

"Let's meet back up where we separated and talk it over."

Mind reeling over the clues, Hanna trudged in the direction that she came from. Old location for Argus testing, someone who went into the Jungle and did not return, and the only uninhabitable place on the island. What did it all mean?

Jake shrugged, and then realized that the other two wouldn't be able to see his actions.
Oh, right.
"No clue either."
He was bad enough with names as is, but faces? He rarely if ever interacted with others unless prompted, so even if he knew, it'd be useless if he couldn't put a name to that face, not that... he'd expect anyone to be foolish enough to wander into the jungle by themselves, with or without gear. It was uninhabited for a reason, and if after all this time they made no move in claiming it, it probably never would be.

Continuing his look around for the last clue, he paused when he heard a voice, and smiled. It seemed they wouldn't be looking for needles in a haystack anymore, though they did seem to have relative ease finding them all in the first place. Probably just dumb luck.
"Argus Testing?"
It sounded familiar... somewhat, but it wasn't ringing any bells. Where did he he hear it from?

He frowned slightly at Hanna's response, and responded with a light chuckle.
"Well, I don't know about you, but I thought mascots represented the team. Can't have a team without one."
It probably wasn't helping, but he hoped she knew that such a small thing didn't determine one's value on the team. If only she knew what kind of team player he had been in the past.

Sherry looked concerned for a moment. "Mascots are great! And besides, this isn't over yet. I'm only good at finding things, we still have to think about this, and report in to see what else is in store for us."

Tucking her clues in her pocket, for momentary safe keeping, she turned back the way she'd come. "See you guys in a minute."
