Nevada curled on the practice dummies that were usually reserved for practices and training on the fields. Instead she placed them in a convient and nice row that oddly shaped out a bed where the girl was resting.
Unlike most of the times, where she had decided that it was best to sleep ON the training fields, and more often then not...sent to the infirmary because she was in the cross fires of spars...she had opted to just kill two birds with one stone.
Technically if anyone asked, she was training..and she was beating dummies in her dreams.
Or maybe she was waiting for someone to ask her to spar and it just looked like she was sleeping there.

Jake was on his way to the training grounds as usual, and was going to train on the training dummies again... until he realized they were missing.
What the hell.
"Did someone steal them?"
"That sounds stupid.""
He looked around, wondering just what the hell happened to them, when he noticed something lying on the field.
Something moving.
Intrigued, he went in for a closing look, and made a face when he realized it was a person... sleeping on the training dummies.
... well, at least now he knew where they went.
Huh, this person looked really familiar...
He frowned and nudged the girl with his foot.
"If you're going to sleep here, go to your room. People come here to TRAIN."

"Training?" She felt the nudge followed by a clearly male voice. Turning over, she blinked as light filtered through slowly opening eyes. A coy smile spread as she propped her head up and yawned.
"And here I thought I was out of the way, instead of disrupting training on the fields." She yawned again and then sleepily studied the boy. "Oh you look familiar handsome. Have we met before?" If they had, it was probably that the two weren't introduced. Though, his deamenor reminded her of Otto...except grumpier?
"Training with dummies would be boring don't you think? Its almost like they put you to sleep..." She chuckled, clearly amused at her own private joke before sliding off the dummy to stand next to the male hunter. "I'm currently free, if you'd prefer a partner to train with. Well that is...if you don't mind playing with guns?" and with that she summoned her weapon, the tommy gun forming in her hands.
"What do you say handsome?"
/Another whelp? Is this island full of little babies?/ Leroy grunted in through her mind, clearly displeased by the choice of another hunter to battle. /Where's that Rep monster, I want to battle HIM again.../

Jake rolled his eyes.
"And what exactly do we train on if you're SLEEPING on the training dummies, pray tell?"
Idiots. This island was full of idiots.
He shrugged at her question.
"You look like the other countess girls I've met on the island. Heck if I remember everyone's name."
Her offer at being a training partner made him smirk. He needed a moving target.
When she mentioned guns though, and summoned her weapon, his smirk visibly dropped.
Guns. He ******* hated guns.
... Well, whatever. A spar was a spar. The stupid-looking gun looked ridiculously complicated to handle, so maybe she wouldn't even know how to use it. But still. Long-range weapons. Ugh. His last long-range battle went AMAZING.
Shut up.
Nevada's only response was having his weapons summoned.

Nevada shrugged and smiled.
"Cans?" She shot a many cans when she could. "Other hunters?" The smile got wider. He really was a grumpy grumpy boy. She hopped from her makeshift bed and tilted her head slightly up. Unlike Lex, she didn't have to break her neck to see him... and unlike Roland, she didn't have to look down so..Nice.
"That's a shame handsome, no girl wants to be told they look like the other ones." She merely chuckled as she stepped back away from him. "If it helps, My name is Nevada...like the state."
In reply to the summoning of his weapon, she studied the tonfa's before sighing. "Another close range hunter. Seems to be a lot of them on the Island. Less close range. More guns!" HUZZAH.

Leroy on the other hand was impatient, demanding for his trigger to be pulled.
Who was Nevada not to comply?
"Yes sir." She responded to her weapons chant in her head and tugged the trigger close to her, watching the FEAR bullets fire.
/PIDGE, KEEP ME STEADY!/
Unforuntately, the smallest jerk of her hand sent most of the spray away from the other hunter. "Ah sorry Leroy! I meant to hit but you shoot too many out too fast..."

It was established there and then that Deus lacked any sane female hunters.
He only frowned at her when she remarked about being compared with the other girls.
She could be her own stupid special snowflake for all he cared.
"...Jake."
Seeing the gun raised, he grit his teeth, fear and anger flashing across his eyes.
As much as he hated dealing with guns, he was going to have to learn to sooner or later.
He felt pain as the shot grazed his arm, but the fear shield managed to keep it from penetrating his skin.
Well, it was his turn now.
Brandishing the tonfas, he closed in for an attack, but going closer also brought him closer to the gun.
His step faltered, and he only managed a weak attack.

"Nice to meet you Jake. Please do go on, your boring me with your meaningless dribble of words." She teased. The sight of the tonfa's coming closer to her had flinching and hold up Leroy like a shield...or as close as one got.
/Now now now. Shoot!/

Instead she twirled the gun like a club to push the hunter back.
"We've only just met, I don't think you should be so close to me hun..." She gave him a lazy smile, taking as many as steps as she could to put distance between them.

Oh great, a wisecrack.
Jake rolled his eyes at her.
When hit with gun, he stumbled back slightly, but closed the distance between them almost immediately.
Her comment made him pause, and instead of attacking, he flashed his teeth at her, giving her a menacing smile.
"Please. You're not my type."

"Well gosh Jake, tickle me surprised." She hummed, not sure how to interept the smile. "That's a shame, I'm a fantastic cuddler."
With enough distance now between them, she focused on the hunter instead of the wordplay.
Pulling the trigger made her weapon almost jump with joy. Followed by the slight whisper from Nevada.
"Charged~"

Great, another touchy one. Just his luck.
All girls on Deus were lunatics AND touchy.
Another spray of bullets grazed him, thankfully again protected by his fear shield.
I KNOW.
He grit his teeth, but rushed forward, swinging the tonfas down with as much force as he could.
Hearing a satisfying crackle of it biting into her fear shield, he quickly pulled back before she could smack him with the gun again.
Wait, did she say charge?
Oh crap.

Girls who were lunatics, touchy and Charged should and probably be Jake's biggest fear on the Island.... :'D
Nevada stepped back and gave the male hunter a sad look. "Sorry hun. You really are a cutie but..." As she pulled the trigger, instead of spraying bullets...Leroy blasted out a large beam of FEAR right into the middle of Jake's FEAR shield.
"I like to win as much as I like to sleep and cuddle." She winked.

If there was anything worse than have a gun pointed at you, it was having a freaking glowing rifle pointed at you.
"OH SHI-"
He raised the tonfas up instinctively over his face, as if to protect it from the onslaught of bullets, only to hear a crackling sound as they bit into his fear shield, slowly tearing it apart.
He grit his teeth.
No.
He wasn't a quitter. Not by a long shot. If he was going to go down fighting, SO BE IT.
The weapon raised in an attacking position, he rushed forward, swinging the blade towards her.
"That makes two of us."
The winning part that was. Screw cuddling.
It was kinda sad he only ever won one battle.

"When two forces who like to win win, then I guess we really can't come to terms with each other." She raised Leroy again, using him as a psuedo shield when Jake's tonfa's hit.
/So close, so close. Just a bit more, Take him out Nevada. Out out out./
Nevada pulled the trigger and one little measly bullet shot out. Grinning instead of being disappointed she gave her a weapon a pat. "too much power last time. Maybe we need to charge back up?"

He smirked. Finally, she was starting to get it.
"I couldn't agree more."
A single bullet made him flinch slightly, but it only bounced off his shield, and he recomposed himself.
So far, things weren't looking too good. If only he could whittle that shield of hers down just a bit more...
His arm brushed against the dagger tucked in his sash.
One thing was for sure though. He had to do this before she got her second fear attack in, or he was screwed.
Determination outweighing everything else, he swung out again, the blades digging into her fear shield with a satisfying crackle.
