She was the kohai now sure, but hey, she liked to think she could be a senpai still. So when she text Jake asking if he'd like to help her with a mission report she'd been sure to include the incentives. Money, favor, the works. Jake was Jake and she wanted to meet the weapon he'd been stuck with. Perhaps a personal bias, but it was still valid research material.

All for death.
All for science.

Waiting in her new temp office with the plush chairs, legit non runic coffee, and enough sweets to make anyone sick, Solia waited for Jake to arrive. If he didn't?

Well she'd just need to talk to Sherry then.

"Come in!" Most didn't knock, many just entered- so the sound surprised her a bit, a small memo jolted down.

"Jake!" She grinned. "Come on, don't be a shy guy. I got real coffee, cream, even a few tarts today! You brought your weapon right? I can't wait to meet them!"

She had to admit, she was a bit excited to meet Jake's weapon. Then again, all weapons thus far had proved interesting.

Oh! So THIS was Chester! Seeing him as a non weapon was interesting as was seeing any weapon in a human frame, and Solia bowed her head in greeting. "Good day Chester! And please, I was more an annoying nag who just didn't want to see another trainee get chewed out for things. Caelius is well... I'm sure you know."


She motioned for them to sit.

"Simple rules. Don't interrupt, answer best you can, common sense-" Solia slouched. "Okay Ive just really given up with repeating it all but mostly common sense. We start simple. Full name, species, then, your first memory. Real, imagined, whatever feels like the oldest thing you can remember."

He was.. surprisingly mature. Solia expected a weapon akin to Jake when she first met him but now, she had the opposite- maybe Sherry wasn't the only one who'd been a good influence on the guy. "You're a bit of a charmer Chester. Guess I need to thank you for helping Jake shape up as he has." She winked at the pair.

"Nergal, bonding as first memory. Fairly typical then. Tell me, from both of your views, what drew you to each other? A memory, emotion? Desire, want fear? What called out to you above all else? I understand if that's a bit personal though. Still, data is data so I ask."

Humming had become a sort of default reaction when she wrote out replies and answers. Yet it was what she did, eyes flicking between Chester and her paper, noting down minor changes in tone and little motions here and there. Solia had to be the best death she could have been- and it was a bit hard when all you could do was just ask and observe.

"Alrighty! Protection is more a key element of the moon division though. With such a need... why not go for a candidate that would have been more drawn to that division. Is there something about this division that you feel enables you and Jake to be better protectors? And-" She crossed her legs, wondering, "Why does the idea of protecting those weaker than you appeal so greatly?"

It was an interesting answer- and a bit telling of their bond. "I see, a sort of round about way of doing things. But alright. Plus I could see it- him being a bit reckless." She grinned at Jake, teasingly. "Alright, moving on- would you say any aspect of your own views have changed as a weapon Chester? That your time as a weapon and being used as you have has made certain feels more intense, or, alternatively, weaker?"

She tapped her notes- "Any regrets about anythings?"

Broken, unable to hear or see, cut from Jake. It was a tidbit she'd not known. Useful for the fact it helped provide a bit of insight on the whole broken weapon business. Well, broken not broken. Broken with recovery unlike the recent weapon break that eventually led to the death of another trainee.

Weapons could still think, function, much as a hunter could. Apparently it was a two way street? Very interesting. "Don't apologize." Solia kept writing every word, a smile on her face as she absorbed each fact she could.

"Emotions, feelings. These are real factual events that can change and alter a person. A weapon as well. Just so- I need all the info I can get. Now you mention how your want to protect grew stronger, yet it was a shift- no longer tied to Jake's behavior. Do you feel that despite your bond, YOU would make a better weapon for a moon than a death hunter theoretically then?"

"Or perhaps in another life, Jake and you would have made better moons than death hunters?"

It was interesting to hear. The self awareness the weapon posessed was well beyond her expectations as was his willingness to be so open and forward with what he was saying. She let herself briefly lean into her hand, free hand tapping her pen to her paper as he finished. "You've got a good insight Chester." Her smile was small as she began more note taking.

"A sign of a thinker, of someone who is just as you described yourself, someone who wants to know- And for me, you're very much helping me in that endeavor." She glanced up from her notes. "Thank you for that." In silence Solia filled out a few more lines. It was strange but she flipped to another interview, another question asked and answered.

"A final question for you both before we close out this session then." She went back to the sheet that held her initial notes. "What is your plan of action for when Jake dies?" Perhaps the ultimate question- what would a weapon do when their hunter falls.
