You run with a particularly large group of unfamiliar Life Techs, who are busy squabbling about something related to The Excalibur project: they hush and glower at you when you try to learn more information. Shouting interrupts your attention as you try to figure out what is going on between the masses of teeming shadowlings all around you-
- Only to see what looks like a giant oversized rat go soaring along with a rather neat burst of shadowlings.
"Clean up this ******** mess," Oh yes, there was his highness, which meant that giant oversized rat was probably you know, Mark, the Death Division assistant, "I will have a word with those responsible."
That squabbling team of Life Techs that you could have sworn were right behind you seem to have conveniently disappeared from the Death Lead's line of sight. Conveniently.
In the other corner, an amused Sam manages to pry Mark away from the mass of Shadowlings - whom the Death assistant was trying to fight bare handed - Mark muttering stuff like how he had the entire situation under control before refocusing to you. "Well yeah, I totally like, had that situation under control." He grumbles and dusts off his entirely tattered, Shadowling-bitten coat. "Well anyway, the major problem seems to be that they've cut off the pathway to the corridor below, you know, that secret secret one." He ignores your blank stare. "So we gotta blast a path through and stuff, or at least control it a bit better for now, which is why you are here, right?" He looks nervous as he picks up what looks like a tablet-pc, typing something onto the screen.
A few seconds later, Gale would get a text.

- Shadowlings will attack in phases. There are four phases total. Each one will last APPROXIMATELY 24 OOC hours, or one "round". - After a phase, all your Fear/ Charged attacks reset. Your HP and everything else carries over. - A lot of shadowlings have LIMITED ATTACK ROUNDS so make sure you do not go over the limit of attacks for that round! - When a phase is ready to start, a GM will announce it in this thread along with the OOC RULES FOR THE NEXT PHASE BOSS(ES). Make sure to read the new rules for the fight before responding. The title of the thread will mark what page the new wave is spotted on. IF you have not posted for the previous wave and it is the second wave, you have skipped your last turn. The area is infested with hundreds of tiny shadowlings, teeming in a thick, unsteady black. They do not seem ravenous quite yet, but they are getting restless, some straying a little too close towards you....

FIGHT!
- Every time you attack you take damage equal to half your attack. - You can take five turns this round! This includes healing/ defending/ using a Fear attack/ special ability/ item as ONE TURN. - Make sure you use the form in the OOC above to calculate everything properly! - Every time you DO ONE DAMAGE you defeat ONE tiny shadowling. Feel free to rp accordingly. - This round will last for APPROXIMATELY 24 OOC hours!
Ami was not amused. Then again, at this hour in a disgruntled mood with no sleep, nothing would amuse her. She already had a few gnawing at her ankles, and she didn't want to experiment to see what else would come bite her.
So she settled for the satisfying squish of heartless after heartless being pummeled in her path. Even at this hour, hitting small, stupid targets was of no conscious effort- especially when they didn't make any inclination to really attack her. They just sort of ... awkwardly spun in circles and phased themselves two feet away from where they began.
Well, Ami wasn't going to complain. The faster they left her house alone, the better.

Nevada hissed as she looked at Mark. Seriously what was the guy even saying to her? All she wanted to do was go back to sleep and forget about this whole episode from a reject mob scene of a horror movie.
Instead she loaded the tommy gun on her hip and started to fire, making sure to aim for the shadows. Incidentally, she actually made a good gap in them.
As well as injuring herself by the wave of mobs on the other hand.

Pasha had, by no real effort of her own, somehow stumbled into the Towns after a herd of other hunters, clutching her rifle to her chest. It was all a blur of chaos - and then of course there was the flying rat and the Death Division Lead. Pasha secretly thanked all of her lucky stars that she wasn't directly under his command. She would probably have a heart attack and fall out of the nearest window if he ever so much as looked in her direction.
Pasha, please focus -
Something black and tiny hurtled after her and rebounded off of her forehead, knocking her backwards straight into the thick black mass. She was covered in seconds flat by wiggling limbs, and biting her lip down on a squeak of terror, she began to kick and punch until she broke the surface and saw night sky again. Okay, it wasn't that dramatic, but by the time Pasha had kicked her way out of the squirming mass, she'd lost all of her foolish daydreaming to the harsh reality that her new home was under siege. And this called for justice!
Or. Well.
Pasha raised Táo and fired once, twice, three times in a row, striking the black little things down as best she could.
It called for action at least, if little else.

He had pants. He had his coat. He was set. NMarcus was ready to face whatever the sirens were blaring about. Going out of his house to see a bunch of hunters attacking a horde of shadowlings was comforting, if frightening.
Comforting as usually towns just fell.
Frightening as a horde of shadowlings were everywhere.
Dis in hand, Marcus stared at the swarm before smacking a few with the flat side of his blade.

Things outside were about what she figured they'd be. People were running everywhere. It also looked like those shadowlings were, too. Oh, skippy.
Of course. Sherry noted that several Life coats were headed towards the town, and decided to follow them. She'd be of some use that way, right? Sure.
She was halfway there when she noticed that she'd forgotten her scarf. Even with her coat, without that, she felt just a little bit exposed. Not that she had time to worry about such things. The Shadowthings seemed rather thick here, and it was clear folks were gearing up for a fight.
Armagnac sounded like she was in a better mood.
I suppose, Sherry replied as she paused to asses her new situation.

"Did the shadowlings escape or something?" Ariane was still grumbling away like an old lady, even if "cleaning up" her room was pretty satisfying. However, they were now faced with a whole hoard of these things... And they better not mess up. Who knows what would happen if they did?

Just as expected, there were more, But what Leon did not expect, was the sheer amount, it was staggering to the what looked like mountains of the same little beasts piling up in areas. and the mass that was moving toward the outskirts of town did not look very healthy.
Mark flying overhead wasn't a better sight either in the boxer's personal opinion "you want a path open huh Mark?" he drawled out in a irritated tone and swung the saw into position. "I'm sure we can do that." he declared and slapped a few shadowlings aside for emphasis.

A livid, groggy and irritable blonde male, standing at around five foot five, stomped his way into the abandoned town. He'd forgotten to put on much clothing in his haste to get to work, having only just risen from bed not so long ago. His sleep had been disturbed, and he was none too happy about it.
Otto was never one to wake up well at all.
Luckily, this task ahead seemed fairly simple. Kill all the things.

The teen, with Tenya already summoned from her totem form as a necklace, was hurled around in a wide arc several times in succession.
Another swing of Dis, and the Vampire hummed in the back of his mind. They wre not making much progress now were they? Ariane, Leon- Well they helped ward off the loafing for the Death ones that were more or less annoying threats to living.
Looking over in time to see Lex attempting to fire and failing-
"Looks like you're shooting blanks."
A small smattering of shadowlings charging at Marcus the moon managed to mince them.
