She was on her bed, belly down, her feet up moving back and forth from time to time. The pillow was under her chest, her arms wrapped around it while she took notes. Yes, in that notebook. She'd ripped out the pages she's scribbled on in anger; they now rest in pieces in the trashcan with bits of broken glass.

No light came in from the window, no sunlight at least, for the sun had set. A breeze did come, ruffling the curtain. No glass yet, just a curtain to keep out the night. The room was still clean, though. The bed made, aside from the dents she was putting in the covers. Her coat lay over her chair and her boots sat by the door. The day was over and it was time to try and relax.

Sherry sighed and turned a page. "Interesting," she said, reading, and then writing more. Sprawled out on the bed before her along with her notebook were two other books, and the Life Hunter was trying to study.

It was a nice distraction from everything, really

Having cleaned up most of what they could in Sherry's room, Jake had returned to his own room to clean up his own mess. Thankfully, it wasn't TOO much, and the glass shards were now resting in the trash bin while he himself was making a list of things to get on their next leave.

Well, there were the perfume bottles that Sherry had lost, and.... maybe he needed some more clothes. He also considered getting some plastic wrap in case such an incident happened again. It wouldn't really... save the glass, but it'd prevent it from shattering inside the room, he supposed.

Putting the pen down, he looked over the list, wondering if there was anything else he was missing.

Sherry turned the page, finding herself at the end of a chapter. "Oh," she said, sounding a little sad. This book was full of information, but somehow not enough.

With a yawn, she rolled over and sat up to stretch. She had enough information to find the place, and she could always do more research in person. Maybe she should see if Jake was up for a visit in the next couple of days. She kind of wanted to talk to him anyway.

Grabbing the phone, she typed out a short message.

[A.V.]
Text to Jake: Hey! Sorry again about this morning. You want to come over and hang out?

It had only been a few hours, Sherry. A few hours.
Still, it was a welcome distraction and Jake picked up the phone. He should probably ask her what exactly she had lost among all that broke glass.

No problem. And sure. Could use the distraction

Sherry had done a lot in those few hours, Jake. It had certainly felt a lot longer than it was. Besides, she was still feeling a little bit bad about... stuff.

[A.V.]
Text to Jake:
Ok! The door's unlocked, so just come on in whenever you are ready.

Sherry slid off the bed and wandered over to grab a couple bottles of water and some crackers. A snack and refreshments.

Had Jake known she was feeling guilty about... anything, he would have told her not to. Seriously. Sherry. Nothing was your fault... usually. Most of the time. Had there ever been a time something HAD been her fault?
The phone vibrating told him to cease with his senseless thoughts.

Well, he supposed he was ready as ever for now.
Letting out a sigh, he closed his phone, got up, and left his room.

Sherry waited in her room, back on the bed and nibbling at her crackers. She glanced at the book once or twice, and her notes. She hoped Jake would say yes to exploring with her. She really needed to get some information about this place.

She also hoped he wasn't too upset with her. She... was feeling very down about a few things. It was hard to forget them all, even though she was trying.

A very loud sigh escaped her.

Jake may have chided her for thinking about going to such dangerous places as a sort of recreation, but he wouldn't turn down going also. Mostly because he was worried what would happen if she went by herself and also, well, he had to admit he'd probably be curious about such a place also.

But for now, Jake was only thinking about what had happened the night before, and how he should apologize again. Really, he didn't mean to... almost strangle her. Or stab her. Or cause emotional trauma again.
Though she said the door was unlocked, he knocked just in case. Wouldn't want to walk in on her changing... or something.

"Hm?" Sherry perked right up at the knock. The idea of company, Jake's company especially, had her sliding off the bed and at the door in just a few moments. She knew it was likely Jake, though she had told him to come right in. He... probably didn't want to barge in. Or something. ...Yes. She realized then, again, that she had been far too forward. He had always been very respectful of privacy. Good job, she chided herself. Just suggest that he give that up.

Sherry did her best to bury the thought so she could smile as she opened the door.

"Hi! Come on in. I've, um... there are some crackers and water if you're hungry." So gourmet.

It may have been simple, but the offer was appreciated. He WAS feeling a bit peckish.
"Thanks. I might just have to take you up on that."

Stepping into the room, he took a look around. The window was missing glass and her dressing table seemed... a bit more empty, but other than that, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He was somewhat scared something might have happened again, though he was pretty sure he had been the trigger for that.

"So, um, what have you been up to?"

"Feel free," she gestured at the foodstuffs. It was all on the bed, next to the open books.

She was glad to see he seemed well. After everything.

"I have...well. Cleaning. Then I, went and did some wandering around. Did some chatting with folks. Just to get out of the room, you know." A small smile. She'd wanted to think and get some fresh air. Even though there was still plenty of fresh air coming in through the window. They'd told her tomorrow they'd be by to replace it.

"You?" She asked, genuinely wanting to know.

Giving her a sheepish smile, Jake nodded, and headed over to the table, picking up a cracker.
Even though they had been together for quite some time, he still found it fascinating just how different they were. Though he wasn't as adverse to the company of others as he used to be, he wasn't really the type to seek out the company of others unless prompted.

"I... stayed in my room. Did some cleaning and stuff."
After what had happened, he wanted time to himself to think about his own actions, and to prevent it from happening to anyone else, as he wasn't sure what the trigger was, exactly.

"Oh, that's nice, though. Relaxing." She didn't want to stop smiling at him, but her face did fall a little.

"Jake... I'm sorry. For upsetting you and everything. And for pressuring you for more out of our relationship." She'd spent ages thinking about these things. Proper wording, ways to bring it up in conversation....and then she just went and blurted it out. Right there at the beginning. She was sorry for that, too. "I, um, just wanted you to know."

It also seemed like she was not going to look at him, choosing to look at the floor instead.

The apology had caught him off guard, and he stared. W-why was she apologizing?
"N-no, it's not your fault. I'm... sorry I didn't realize it sooner."
And then there were two hunters staring at the floor.

She glanced at him, briefly, then away. "No," a sigh. "It's not your fault. I'm the one who made things uncomfortable. And I should have realized that sooner. There's nothing for you to be sorry for." She could feel the tears forming, and she did her best to suppress them. Way to make things even more uncomfortable.

"I just wanted to make sure you knew. And...and it won't happen again. I won't push, okay." He didn't have to live with her or sleep with her or...sleep with her. "Just...please tell me when I'm messing it up. I don't want to mess it up and make you upset."

Moving closer, Sherry reached out to take his hand. "I love you, okay. And I want you to be happy, more than anything else, that's what I want."

A sniffle (she was trying to dissuade the tears) and a laugh. "Sorry. That's not how this conversation was supposed to start."
