Jake only remembered about 6 words from the Insanity Titan briefing, which were "Insanity Titan", "very bad", and "team effort". He didn't like that last one all too much, but at least it was less team work and more "partner" work, and... he supposed he had SOME experience after getting tossed... twice. One thing he knew for sure though, he wouldn't be looking for Nevada as a partner. For sure. If anything, he'd much prefer doing this solo, but remembering the result of that from his last disastrous mission, he knew sometimes he'd have to learn to bite the bullet and learn to cooperate.
Harness in hand, he fumbled with it, resisting the urge to curse (oh look, he remembered another rule) and gave Sherry an exasperated look.
"How the hel... heck do you even put this da... darn thing on."
Not swearing was getting a lot harder than he thought.

Sherry chuckled and finished stuffing a runic bandage into her emergency med kit. She then made sure it was attached to her chest, the rest of her harness already secure.
"Like this," she said, taking the harness from Jake. If there was one thing Sherry knew how to handle it was straps and buckles. She liked accessories, ok. "Hold this here," she waited for him do so, "and then start with the leg straps." Yes, Jake, she was doing it for you, and yes, it meant she was touching you, perhaps a little more than necessary. Deal with it. "Then we move up, give me that, and make sure the waist is secure. Is this too tight?" She gave the straps a rather firm tug. "I'm not having you fall out of this thing. Especially not while I'm running defense for you."
She flashed him a smile. "Lastly, this strap, here." Another firm tug, followed by a soft pat and a softer smile. Then she pointed, "This clip is where the med kit goes, and those straps there," she pointed down, "are for your infuser things."
She smiled again. "Any questions? Or do I need to show you one more time?"

Sherry touching him meant his mind was anywhere other than actually learning how to secure the harness.
"N-no, I think I'm good..."
He made a mental note to ask her again later.
Grabbing the infusers, he stuffed them into the straps, and slung an emergency kit over his shoulder, stuffing his daggers, artifact, along with some other runics in it.
"Ok, I'm ready. How 'bout you?"

Armagnac said something very rude and Sherry pretended not to hear it.
"Good," she said to Jake. She ran her fingers over his waist straps again just because she could. Then she turned back to her own gear, grabbing the stabilizers and making sure to triple check her supplies.
"I think I'm set." She hoped so. This stuff was a little bit bulky, at least at first. "Let's go." She lifted a hand, indicating that he should lead the way.

He flustered, and hoped he'd be able to concentrate and not think about Sherry touching him. Their life DEPENDED on this, dammit!
At least he hadn't gone far when he heard a roar, and looked up.
"...Well. Looks like we found our first Insanity Titan."

Class: **** HP: 100/100 Description: This creature is entirely covered in armoured platelets, making it very, very difficult to find a weak spot. It will also released electrical charges along its spine that become dangerous if left unchecked for too long. To neutralize this, the electrical charge points must be attacked before they literally explode and knock Hunters back outside of its blast radius. Upon defeat: Has a 100% chance of dropping Insanity remains usable for the R & D.

The lindwyrm in her head writhed with malice, but Sherry picked up on a hint of excitement when she set eyes on the Titan. Good. Anything to distract from the constant stream of hate was welcome.
"At least they're not hard to miss," she muttered.
Sherry inhaled and have a small shake of her head. Work time. "Alright, take this," she held out on end of the large rope thing, "and, uh, go titan climbing. Tug on it once it's secure, or let me know, somehow."
Her free hand reached out and grabbed him arm. "Be careful." Live through this, and there was likely to be more touching later, Jake. But Sherry would never actually say that out loud.

Ugh, he hated this part.
Taking his end of the cord, he ran towards the creature, fiddling with the handle of the "jet pack" until he found himself airborne. At least this beat being launched in the air against his own will.
It took some maneuvering, and after nearing getting swatted by the titan, he found a steady spot to land, and secured the cord.
"All good over here!" he shouted.

And that was the signal. Sherry set about doing...well, attaching things to the ground. "Please work, dear runic thing," she whispered, more to herself than anything. "Okay," she muttered once it seemed secure.
"Alright!" she yelled back up to Jake, waving.

With Sherry's confirmation, he pulled out his daggers, wobbling slightly as the titan shifted. Now came the fun part.
Placing one of the dagger handles in his mouth, he opened the emergency kit, pulling out the hand torch. Nothing like flaming daggers to tell the beast he meant business.

Spiny back, lots of armor. They had to find a walking tank, didn't they? Sherry put on her determined face and summoned her weapon, because...what else would she do? They already had the thing tethered....now they just needed it weak enough for the infusers to work.
If they could live that long.

Of course, helping your partner stay alive while on top of a giant armadillo was easier said than done. Especially when you were trying to assess exactly how much of a danger the beasty was.
"Jake! Careful! I think those spikes are dangerous!" She could be wrong, but it looked like.... maybe electricity? She wasn't sure yet.

The creature roared, making him lose his balance as he fell against one of its spines.
"Oh. Ow..."
He groaned and steadied himself, striking at the titan again.

Yep. Not good. Sherry made sure to take mental note of that. She glanced at the tether again, rather on reflex after that roar. This thing was HUGE, and their faith was in that suddenly rather small-looking runic rope. So far though, so good.
"Keep it up!" Sherry made for a decent cheerleader, maybe. "And keep me updated on your shield." She managed to flash him a very stern look. No running yourself into the ground, Jake.
