Personality: Vincent has unrestrained curiosity. If he has questions he'll go forth and seek answers, simple as that. He's not particularly shy nor does he feel the need to tip toe around a subject that might be considered sensitive or offensive. This doesn't do him a whole lot of favors when he finds himself in situations were tact would make things so much easier, especially because he's so unrepentant. He really doesn't mean to offend, but it just seems to inevitably happen at some point, so why let it get to you. That's how he feels, anyway.
With his curiosity it might not be evident, but Vincent does possess manners. He can be charmingly attentive and performs many small gestures without being asked, like holding open doors, offering to make snacks or drinks, or offering help if someone seems to be struggling. He looks out for others and considers their needs before his own. This sometimes clashes with his curiosity, so you're not sure if he'd nice or rude. Really you could say it's equal parts of both, and try not to let things bother you if he does start getting nosy.
At his core Vincent has a kind and honest nature to temper his straightforward and sometimes blunt mannerisms. He has a very calm and mellow energy and doesn't get flustered or offended easily. He can be stubborn sometimes, but he's not afraid to admit that he might be wrong. He has an open friendliness about it, but sometimes it's difficult to know what's on his mind or what he feels since his emotions run deep below the surface. It might be almost impossible to tell when Vincent is mad or upset unless you know him well enough to see all the subtle indicators that allow you to differentiate his moods. It's difficult for him to feel particularly close to others, for all that he likes people, he'll often insist on trying to do things on his own. It's a sign of how much Vincent likes and trusts someone if he lowers his competent mask and unbends enough to admit to needing help.

Vincent gives with his adoptive mother above her jewelry shop. There is a main door leading into the shop itself, with several display counters displaying the pieces she has made and another counter where more valuable pieces are kept secure and where payment for purchases is made. There is a door behind that counter that leads into a small area at the back of the store where Giselle makes her jewelry, with a workbench and several tables full of random supplies. In the back room is a door leading outside to a small, fenced area with a gate and a staircase that leads to the second story.
On the second floor, to the immediate left of the stairs is a small living area and kitchen. To the right is an open area with a desk and computer, and a tiny space big enough for a washer and dryer. The door to the left of the desk leads to the bathroom, which has a shower/tub, toilet, and sink. The door to the right of the desk leads to Vincent's room, and the door next to the washer and dryer leads to Giselle's room. Neither have much in the way of personal possessions just yet, but they each have a bed and dresser.
Adoptive mother. Vincent met Giselle when she came to the orphanage to deliver some handmade plushies. He was curious about her, since he'd never met an Elf before, and went over to chat. They both took to each other, and Giselle ended up adopting him. Vincent really likes Giselle, maybe even loves her as a parent, though he tends to use her name rather than calling her mom or anything like that. She indulges his curiosity and teaches him many interesting things.

Momo ☿ Imp Slime | Momo is definitely a little bundle of mischief. They ended up making Vincent chase them all over the place, and finally allowed theirself to be caught when an offer of food was made. They're frequently poking around at things and getting into trouble. While they do enjoy snuggles, they're pretty independent and prefer roaming and adventures.
Dapple ♂ Vespercat | Dapple is a very lazy creature who prefers to either be eating or napping. His favorite spots are usually ones considered in the way, such as in clothing, on pillows, on Giselle's work tables, or even on display cases. Anytime he's disturbed he usually gives the offended a stink eye and saucy meow, but Dapple is too lazy for confrontations. He'll usually stretch and find a new napping spot.
Cinnamon ♂ Crocobee | Cinnamon can be very territorial when it comes to Vincent. He's sweet as anything around the Baphomet, and has been trained to tolerate the other people and familiars that interact with Vincent. Generally speaking the closer someone is to Vincent's colors the more tolerant Cinnamon will be of them. They can get easily agitated though, so careful to keep your voice and movements calm around this crocobee!
Winstone ☿ Pet Rock | Vincent found Winstone at a Hunter's Jubilee festival. He picked the pet rock up, thinking maybe it was something someone lost, but since he never found anyone looking for it he ended up taking it home. Winstone gets moved around pretty often. On sunny days they're in the garden, bad weather days they're brought inside, usually on Vincent's desk. Cinnamon loves perching on Winstone, but Dapple frequently tries to attack the pet rock.
Dawn ♀ Vespercat | Dawn found Vincent during a Hunter's Jubilee festival. She came right up to the Baphomet and demanded some attention. Dawn is quite the demanding lady when she feels she is entitled to something, be it food or attention, and she is not shy about seeking these things out. She's usually pretty patient and will just follow and pester until she gets what she wants, though if you make her wait too long you're liable to get snubbed until you do something to make up for ignoring her!
Ume ☿ Imp Slime | Ume is Momo's equal in mischief. They're a bit more personable and prefer being around people, or at least within line of sight. And that's their line of sight, not their person's. One of Ume's favorite tricks is to drop down off things onto Vincent, Giselle, Mielle, or anyone they've come to be particularly fond of. They do tend to get into anything and everything, but are content to snuggle once fished out of places they don't belong.
Cheesecake ♀ Rammykin | Cheesecake loves chewing on things. If it can fit in her mouth, chances are she's tried to eat it at some point. She'll smart enough to know when something isn't edible and is usually quick to give up on certain things. Sometimes she just likes to nibble on things for comfort though. She's quite sweet, though a little shy initially.
Smiley ♀ Aetherjelly | Smiley is a strange little thing. She loves drifting along behind people, usually without their knowledge, so her signature markings can be a little startling if she catches you by surprise. She's got a very even temperament though and rarely takes offense to sudden movements or loud sounds. She does seem very fond of Vincent, though she is also quite fond of a fluffbug named Wisteria who belongs to one of Vincent's friends. The two often drift about through gardens together, going from flower to flower and just enjoying themselves.

Vincent doesn't have anything in particular he's attracted to, though he's always been very curious and approaches anyone that piques his curiosity. It would be interesting to see him end up with someone who has unusual features, be they odd color combinations, an exotic-looking hybrids, or a Hallowed.
Not at all a required plot, but I think it would be kind of cute if he approaches someone with a bunch of questions and annoys the heck of out them initially, but through time they become charmed by his openly friendly and caring manner and (perhaps reluctantly) fall for him. Doesn't have to be the exact plot, but it gives you an idea of what I might be looking for.

Vincent is very inquisitive and not at all shy about approaching others when he has questions in mind. He might be able to start up conversations with people who are kind of shy or unusual-looking, or might be a bit grumpy or seem intimidating. Bad news is he does throw out a lot of questions, but if you think that kind of straightforward honest approach is refreshing then he's the guy for you!
Vincent enjoys writing as a hobby. He would love to get together with someone who also writes, maybe make a story or do a little fun roleplay? He's up for fun and serious projects, at the same time even if that's what the other wants to do.
Rivals:
Vincent is pretty blunt and not at all apologetic about his questions. Like, not even a little. He could very easily step over someone with a fragile ego, and not all the good intentions in the world could put it back to rights.
Vincent is an independent type and likes to do things for himself. Someone only trying to be polite and helpful might get a bit confused when they think they're doing good and Vincent gets grumpy with them.

Race: Naga (Infected) Gender: Male Stage: Senior Age: 22 Height: Total legnth of 9'. On average he holds himself at 4' 6", but can go as high as 6' without hurting himself. OOCLiam is 18' 4" in length and typically holds himself around 5' 7" Body Type: Muscular and fit, though wiry more than showy.

Personality: Liam used to be a very optimistic type full with innocent determination to achieve what he desired. Then he had his heart shattered into tiny pieces out of nowhere. He went through stunned denial to betrayed rage, and ended up at bitter cynicism. He guards his heart very closely now, and views just about everyone with the belief that they too will betray him in time. In an attempt to get a fresh start he decided to move away from home and attend university in the lands beyond the Swirling Storms.
The face Liam presents to others now is a distant and reserved one. He doesn't seem to want to get emotionally involved and holds people at arm's length. Deep down he still holds on to who he was before his heartbreak, and can't bring himself to be intentionally mean or hurtful. He has to rely on his appearance to be intimidating, since it's not something he can do on his own. Of course then he feels bad for scaring people, so this only adds to his internal conflict.
Liam has always been a bit possessive and prone to jealousy, though he deals with it internally rather than taking it out on anyone. Since, despite his resolve, it's still possible to work your way into his heart, he becomes quite protective over those he starts to feel a fondness for. Distant outer shell aside, Liam's a very kind and considerate person who would go to great lengths for others.

Liam lives in the on-site dormitories at Grendel. He has his room fitted with special lights that give off the needed heat and UVs for him to remain healthy and active. There's not much in his room, just a bed, dresser, and desk with a computer. He doesn't have much in the way of personal belongings just yet, so most of what's scattered around his room are personal care items for his tail and the results of his work in art class. There's usually many kinds of glass beads, since he sells them to make money. There's no bathroom in his dorm, so he has to use shared facilities.

Squidge ☿ Naga Slime | Squidge ended up literally falling right on Liam. To this day he's still not sure what the little slime was trying to do or if the fall was an accident. Squidge, despite looks, is pretty timid. They spend most of their time hiding in shadows or under the bed. That's what makes Liam think they were hiding in a tree and they just lost balance. Once they get to know you they're much sweeter and don't mind attention, but for the most part they'd rather remain unseen, in warm places, and take naps.
Chromium ☿ Winged Wisp | Chromium is quite reclusive. If they feel like making their presence known they aren't the least shy about it, but mostly they like being off on their own. It might be why they get along so well with Liam. Whatever the reason, they seem fond enough of the Naga. They especially love glass and spend most of their time flitting about the finished projects, watching the play of light on the surfaces.
Desert Rose ♀ Coatl | Desert Rose is a very mischievous coatl with a somewhat imperious nature. She has little patience, and if she doesn't get what she wants in what she deems to be a timely fashion she gets a bit...creative. Her favorite trick is to steal objects and hide with them, though sometimes she'll just hide the object beforehand and laze about elsewhere. Desert Rose loves all forms of praise and attention, and while she doesn't always get that from Liam she still seems to like tormenting him too much to find a more adoring owner.
Princess ♀ Vespercat | Liam isn't really sure how he ended up with Princess. If there's a more spoiled, prissy vespercat in the world, Liam feels sorry for that owner. As it is Princess is very fussy. She wants her food and water frequently refreshed, and the dishes have to be placed just so. Her box must be cleaned out immediately after use. She must be brushed so that her coat is pristine, but in a very specific way. Deviation from any of this will cause incessant whining or just generally being a nuisance. And does she make up for this by being affectionate? Pfff, not a chance. Sure, Princess does like petting and attention, but only at certain times and in certain ways. Violators will promptly be hissed at, and maybe get a claw swipe or two. She is meant to be admired, not pawed over like a plushie! For reasons unknown to Liam, Princess has decided he is her caretaker. He would gladly give the vespercat away, but has yet to receive any takers. Deep down though he's maaaybe, kinda sorta, just a bit fond of the paininthebutt.
Magnus ♂ Spectrefox | Magnus is quite the sweetheart. He was trained as a service animal and ended up attaching to Liam while he and a large group of others sheltered in the bunkers below the Academy from impending threats. Magnus is highly loyal, and while perfectly affectionate around strangers he is very attached to Liam. He follows Liam pretty much everywhere, and is so well behaved that it's never caused issues. He is acutely sensitive to the Naga's moods, and whenever he senses his owner is in distress he gets close and leans against Liam's side.

Liam doesn't have any particular preferences in looks. However, due to a bad romantic experience, he might not be able to accept someone pure white or calico in their coloration. It's not impossible, but the odds aren't great.
As far as plot ideas, I'm pretty open-minded to suggestions. I kinda see him becoming close to someone despite his resolution not to, and friendship turns to romance in some way. Or romance was the intention of the other person the entire time, and they make it known through playful flirting here and there, willing to wait until Liam returns their feelings. Those are the only ideas I have in mind right now. I would like to do at least one non-romantic roleplay just to solidify things before they stray into romantic territory, though for time purposes I'm okay with backstory for a lot of it.
The reason behind Liam's reluctance to love is two-part. When he was younger he was friends with a calico Bakeneko, whom he had a major crush on. The Bakeneko seemed to reciprocate his feelings, and Liam always thought they'd be together some day. Then, out of the blue, she's suddenly engaged to a pure white Bakeneko, someone they knew from childhood and whom they both (or so Liam thought) believed was an arrogant jerk. It wasn't just the engagement, it was that Liam's friend completely shut him out of her life from the moment he learned she was engaged. He didn't even hear about it from her, he learned from the white Bakeneko when he tried to visit his friend. He still saw her every now and then but she never responded to him when he tried to talk to her. It was like he was invisible. The one and only time she did talk to him after her betrothal, it was to snub and insult Liam and his feelings for her. He never tried contacting her after that, and has no clue what's happening with her right now. Nor does he care. So, the shock and betrayal of broken love is one part. The other part is after the snubbing, Liam became so angry that he felt the urge to strike out at his friend and her hurtful words. That scared him. Even if she was being intentionally cruel, how could he feel the urge to hurt someone he loved? Liam's afraid to feel strongly about anything again, not only because he doesn't want to be hurt but because he doesn't want to be the one to potentially hurt someone else.

Some. Because of past hurts Liam is likely unable to accept a Bakeneko as a love interest. Liam's going to Grendel to learn more about illusion magic and arts. His specific interest is with glasswork, which he plans to make a career with bits of illusion magic thrown in for effect, though he's dabbled in a few others arts through his classes. He could meet someone through class, maybe a project they're working on or a certain spell they're trying to work out. He could meet a fellow glass enthusiast. Or just someone who goes to similar classes who he sees pretty frequently. Anything of that nature.
Liam enjoys dancing, and practices regularly. He usually likes to find a spot in the open because there's more room. He could befriend a fellow dance enthusiast, whether it's just spontaneous dancing or they want to put a class together or have Liam join a club or something like that. Or maybe they just fall in love with Liam's dancing in particular, and friendship or potential romance just sort of progresses from there?
Rivals:
Liam's probably a scary sight to people who might not like reptiles. Big Naga, with fangs and a rattle to boot. Maybe someone in one of his classes takes a disliking towards him? It would be as simple as just being uncomfortable around him to actually devolving into a physical fight. Liam's not afraid of a tussle, and has strong muscles to go with his potent venom.
Liam has proved unlucky in love, and thus he's a bit reluctant to have anything to do with romance. It could be anything from someone who's upset that Liam doesn't respond to their flirting to someone who has a crush on him that's destined to remain unrequited.

Personality: Arabelle was born to one of the less well-to-do elven families. Frankly her family is quite low class, though they grasp at every opportunity that arises to better themselves. Arabelle spent much of her childhood observing. As a child she was to be seen, not heard. As a lower class citizen her opinion held less value. So she learned to keep quiet and just watch. It became a game for her, trying to guess what others were like, how they'd respond to certain things and what they'd want, just from watching. The better she got at it, the more she used her knowledge to avoid unpleasant situations whenever possible. As soon as travel between Above and Below reopened she immediately transferred down, hoping to find better opportunities. She enrolled in Asterion for psychology while working simple jobs on campus, learning about Nightmares and their different cultures. It was so fascinating that she decided to apply for a position as a psychology professor at the university as soon as she earned her major.
Arabelle is pretty nice for an Elf. She's used to hard work and not having much, and while she's pretty proud of her race she'll admit that there are probably flaws in their logic. The same could be said of any race though, so as long as she and others play nice with each other there's no need to get snippy over what someone is. That's her stance on it, anyway. She's still fairly quiet and prefers to observe rather than participate. The only time she becomes real chatty or animated is around the people she feels safe with. To Arabelle, predictable is safe. It's a thing that was ingrained during her childhood, too many unpleasant surprise personality quirks that were hidden behind nice, polite masks. She just wants to know that she stands on firm ground with someone, rather than getting the rug ripped out from under her feet just as she's off balance.

Short term: Get lesson plans in order. Get everything else graded. Long term: Arabelle would like to start a family one day, but she still isn't sure how she wants to go about doing it. She's not sure how things will go, so she's playing it by ear.
Arabelle lives in a small apartment near Asterion. It's on the second floor, with a tiny balcony that gets mostly morning sun. When you enter the front door the kitchen is to the immediate left, with connections for washer and dryer, the living room and entrance to the balcony are straight ahead. There is a short hallway off the living room, at the end of which is a storage closet. To the right in the hall is a door to the bathroom, to the left is the door to Arabelle's bedroom. It's all the space she needs, and close enough to the university to be quite convenient.
Adopted child. Arabelle first adopted Artemus because there was an otherness associated with the stone and she worried whether the child that emerged from it would have a good living situation. She volunteered to adopt the stone and has absolutely no regrets. Artemus is like Arabelle in several ways, quiet and observing. Their bond is one that seems to need few words.

Bibi ♀ Flitterrat | Bibi is a very friendly flitterrat who doesn't mind people besides Arabelle handling her. She's very clever and knows several different tricks. To keep her entertained Arabelle often hides her food or places it in special containers so it's a challenge. Bibi is very fastidious and prefers to keep herself and her habitat clean at all times.
Lou ☿ Chimera Slime | Lou is quite bouncy with lots of energy and personality. They love to explore and have to be reminded that they probably aren't welcome everywhere they go. With their exceptional bouncing abilities they spend a lot of time high up on roof tops or window ledges. While they frequently wander and are quite friendly to everyone they meet, they always come back home to Arabelle.
Amé ☿ Revenant | Amé is a ponderous creature who seems to consider every move before they make it. Whether or not they'll take a treat can depend on how hungry they are, what the treat is, and how much they trust the person giving the treat. Whether or not you're able to figure out how their moods work, Amé is usually quite polite with strangers. They're very fond of Arabelle, who always seems to be able to figure out their moods, though they've been known to grow attached to others from time to time as well.
Éloi ♂ Flitterrat | Éloi is a very curious and friendly fellow. If anything interests him, he investigates. He's incredibly smart as well, and seems to pick up new tricks the fastest of all Arabelle's flitterrats. When he's feeling relaxed he loves snuggling, especially in something soft like fur, cloth, or hair.
Esmé ♀ Flitterrat | Esmé is one of the sweetest flitterrats Arabelle's ever owned, and certainly the most patient. She's the only one Arabelle can put accessories on, and have them stay on. Esmé particularly likes being held and pet. She's not the most motivated when it comes to learning tricks, but Arabelle can usually get her moving with the promise of melon as a reward.
Ace ♂ Winged Jackalope | Arabelle adopted Ace from a friend who couldn't take care of him anymore. He is easy enough to handle here and there, but has a bit of an aloof nature and little patience with being held often or for more than a few minutes. Arabelle is working on trying to socialize Ace a bit more, with some days being better than others. She respects his moods though, so they muddle along just fine. Ace slowly grows more and more attached to Arabelle, but is still very aloof with strangers.

Arabelle doesn't have any special preferences when it comes to looks, though she does like someone a bit more well-groomed as opposed to a more ruffled or unkempt appearance.
As for personalities it's kind of a toss to see which way things go. Arabelle prefers a little predictability for the sake of comfort. It makes her nervous when people do unexpected things, and she's never been a huge fan of surprises. She'd probably do well with a routine, plain-ol'-vanilla romance. That doesn't have to mean boring or without strong feelings, just something along the tried-and-true formula. The other route would be throwing Arabelle completely out of her comfort zone. This route would likely vary based on personality. I could see it as a form a teasing/antagonistic courtship, or a rivals-turned-lovers kind of thing. Something like that.

Arabelle is a people-watcher by nature and sometimes spends her down-time doing just that, usually at a cafe while grading papers or something. Maybe she spots someone who she's seen a few times having trouble with something and offers to help? Maybe she spots someone and they spot her spotting them? Or maybe she spots someone spotting her while she was spotting other people. Anything can happen!
Arabelle has a degree in psychology. While her primary job is as a university professor, she still does a bit of work in other capacities. Maybe she helps out law enforcement by profiling a particular case, or if someone is having some troubles they come to her in the hopes of figuring out how to solve things. Arabelle doesn't mind taking on personal cases, and would encourage people to come to her if they feel like they're starting to have problems.
Rivals:
As a psychologist it's possible Arabelle has gotten on someone's bad side at some point. Maybe something she told someone turned out to have consequences for someone else. She might have given a bad piece of advice. She might have given the advice she thought was most necessary but wasn't what the person wanted to hear. Something along those lines.
Arabelle's an Elf. She doesn't have a stereotypical Elf personality, but that might not stop someone who has a grudge. Or she could irritate another Elf who would be higher ranked than her in Above, but is lower on the pecking scale down in Below. Personality: Kalani is a somewhat mischievous child. He loves pulling pranks from the water, usually sneaking up unseen under the surface to splash or surprise those outside the water, or pulling on the tails of those under the water with him. He doesn't mean any harm, his intention purely for fun, but sometimes he doesn't think through what might be actually funny and what might be a bit more annoying or unappreciated.
When you can get him to be more serious, Kalani shows that he's a hard worker with plenty of determination. He likes being useful, and while he doesn't use forethought as often as he probably should he's also not one to make excuses when his actions ruffle a few tempers. He's a cheerful and perky sort that most find hard to stay mad at, while generally unrepentant, when he crosses too far over a line he does become genuinely apologetic.
Short term: Get through school without getting into too much trouble! Long term: Figure out what it is he wants to do, cause at the moment he's just kind of drifting.

Kalani lives in the Enoch dorms at the Academy. He doesn't have a roommate, but since he spends most of his free time swimming with the other Naiads it doesn't make him feel lonely or anything.

Nanners ♀ Sealpup | Nanners has a very high level of curiosity. If Kalani isn't with her, she gets herself into some of the most interesting situations when she'd bored. She tends to follow Kalani everywhere, a bit more closely on land. In the water it's more like an orbit, where she stays in a general vicinity but will also explore a bit on her own. She's very friendly and playful, and has no compunctions about going up to strangers.

Kalani thinks long hair is especially attractive. While short hair isn't a deal-breaker, it might cause some confusion since his race typically cut their hair short only when a relationship fails for some reason. He's from an ocean colony that rarely goes into the truly darker sections of ocean so he's more used to scales that are dapplings of light and dark. Scales that show adaption to different terrain are intriguing to him.
There's not much telling what kind of personality will win Kalani over. He's a very cheerful kind of person and seems to get along with everybody. As he gets older his personality might develop more and give more clues.

Probably pansexual, shows no leanings towards any gender in particular.
Racial requirements?
Some. ICly Kalani is far more likely to pair with a Kirin or another Naiad. He is not exactly prejudiced, it's just something he was taught from so young an age that he doesn't even think about it. However, he came to the Academy while he was still young enough to learn new beliefs, and it is possible he could mate with a different race.

Ever since a prank went wrong, Kalani has been super sensitive about those who have a bit of trouble swimming. He keeps an eye out for others in the water, and is one of the first to volunteer if someone needs some extra help. If you person is having trouble with water, Kalani is more than happy to help. He probably won't be comfortable teaching someone how to swim without adult supervision, but once he gets older he'll be more than willing to take up teaching.
As a Naiad, singing is as second-nature to Kalani as swimming. He is surprisingly private about it though, and rarely sings anywhere but the deepest points of water where only other Naiads are likely to hear him. This one's kind of a work-in-whatever scenario. Another Naiad can hear him and fall in love with his voice, or they can maybe become a mentor or something. Maybe Kalani forgets himself and is softly singing above water and someone overhears? Just a board kind of plot that might give a story a direction.
Rivals:
Kalani is a prankster, and a generally unrepentant one at that. It's entirely possible for him to have crossed the line with a prank. While his cheerful mannerisms and willingness to own up generally earn forgiveness, there might be someone out there who prefers to nurse a grudge.
Kalani can be seen as a little bit vain at times. Like most Naiads he in near fanatical in making sure he is well-groomed and looks his best. He can't help feeling a few twinges of disdain for more slovenly people. This isn't really an enemy-maker so much as a tension-adder. It can cause Kalani to create a negative opinion of someone lazy or careless with their looks, or maybe cause a misunderstanding since he really isn't familiar with other races and their own personal standards of appearance.
Personality: Tarot is a quiet introvert who prefers the secluded lifestyle of a hermit. It's not that she doesn't like people, but she finds most of them to be quite tedious at best. Some are full of questions. If the motives of the questions were purely academic that would be one thing, but then there are some questions that try to ascertain personal motives, and even more that are purely personal inquisitions meant to satisfy curiosity! She doesn't feel like she has anything to hide, but Tarot has just never liked talking about herself. Then there are people who seemed shocked at some of her actions, or, worse yet, feel like they need to "help" her. Try to get her "out into the real world" to interact with "real people." It's easier for Tarot in the long run to just keep people at a distance.
This is not to say that Tarot rejects all company. There are some people who finds interesting enough or who are persistent enough that eventually they do get to know her a bit better to realize that her bark is much worse than her bite. Since it's too much trouble to be stern all the time, especially with any exuberant personalities, one could easily get their way if they can figure out when Tarot means something or when she's just being cantankerous.
It should be noted that while Tarot has more than a bit of trouble in the "relating to others" department, she does make efforts. She does not have a ton of patience, but she saves her more barbed remarks for those she knows and tends to be more polite (if stiff and formal) around strangers. Underneath that crusty, solitary shell there's someone with a generous heart who isn't sure what to do with herself.

Past Stages:
Tarot was adopted by Tambre while she was still a stone. She lives in a large household with many other siblings, some Tambre's children and some adopted like her by the kind and motherly Chimera. With so many people and familiars around it can sometimes be hard to find the quiet spaces Tarot craves, but if she's being honest she wouldn't trade away any of it.
Adoptive mother. Tarot is about as fond of her adoptive mother as she can be with anyone. She likes the food Tambre makes and enjoys learning to make those same things. Sometimes she can be strict or distant, but that doesn't bother Tarot too much. She feels like Tambre is someone she'll always be able to go to when she needs help.
Adoptive sibling. Tarot supposes Kiessi is alright. They're way more social and chatty than Tarot ever feels like being, but she can tell Kiessi genuinely cares so she tries not to be too snippy about it.
Adoptive brother. Tarot likes Lorek, cause like her he's more inclined to read than to talk. She finds his presence the most restful of all her siblings, and enjoys being able to share interesting books with him.
Stitch ♂ Mewgle | Stitch is pretty somber for a mewgle. He rarely gets into mischief or antics. He's curious and rather independent, to the point of only really liking Tarot and her family. He doesn't approach strangers, and it takes a while before he trusts them enough to even appear around them. From time to time he'll seek Tarot out for a bit of affection, a pat or caress every now and then, but for the most part he seems to get by on his own just fine.
Coal ♀ Rammykin | Coal is the sweetest bit of fluff you ever did see. She's highly praise driven and patient, willing to put up with a lot of training attempts if it means a good petting and some nice praise at the end of things. She's actually very smart, but can sometimes resort to naughty behavior if good behavior isn't getting her the levels of attention she wants.

Tarot has no particular preferences when it comes to looks. She's more likely to pick someone who seems healthy or talented in some aspect, in order to make stronger children.
Being so very antisocial for the most part, it will likely be quite hard for her to make any kind of connection with someone. She's definitely not the type to just fall in love, or even have a crush, so friendship is pretty much guaranteed to be the first step if anything is even going to happen. She's never been particularly demonstrative, and her awkwardness in social situations probably makes her see odd or cold. Tarot is capable of caring about others, and caring deeply, but it might take someone incredibly patient to see through the apathetic mask to the caring side underneath.

Tarot loves knowledge. There probably isn't a book out there that she hadn't tried to read, and there isn't anything she isn't willing to try in the pursuit of learning. She would probably get along decently with any other quiet, bookish types, or just general smart nerd types.
Tarot has a couple different hobbies. Meditation, gardening, cooking, she loves that kind of stuff. Some things she's really good at, and some stuff she's still trying to learn. It could be a common point of conversation, or the start of an activity, either someone helping her learn these things or learning from her. She might not be very social on her own, but she's never averse to sharing knowledge.
Rivals:
Tarot doesn't like it when people get loud or overly nosy. Academic inquiries are one thing, but people asking personal questions or bothering her to pay attention to them? Skip it please! This could be just a simple pestering, or something who knows it botheres Tarot and deliberately does stuff to make her uncomfortable in the hopes of driving out a reaction or something.
Tarot makes inquiries into things that are probably best left alone. It doesn't matter if it's taboo magic, or something a little more illegal. If it's out there, she feels like it's meant to be known. This could probably get her in trouble with the more law-abiding side of the world (like her adoptive mother!) if it was found out, but Tarot is quite clever and hides her tracks well. It would make for an interesting game of cat and mouse!
