Coco frowned one moment she had been waiting with Eilwen for Kingston then everyone was moving down to the bunker and it was hard to find anyone. So Coco went down to the bunker with the rest of the groups of many. She frowned again when she saw the survivors coming in, she would never rush up to ask them what happened, but she had to wonder if any of her fears were true. Were there zombies or vampires out there? What did the creatures look like? Was there any pity or sadness in their eyes or were they cold-blooded monsters?? There were so many thoughts running around in her head as she ended up in the familiar comfort area. She blinked confused and trying to shaking off her fear so she could find Kingston, Vanna and Eilwen. In the mean time she sat down with the others petting familiars.

Ruby had descended into the bunker with everyone else, marveling at the secret passage the school apparently held in its bowels. She wanted to know if there were more of these passages, making a mental note to poke around in the future. The bunker now, though, was crowded and uncomfortable, perhaps every living soul in Below cramped into an underground space and just waiting. Waiting for safety from - what? Nobody seemed ready to say exactly what, yet, and all she'd picked up from eavesdropping was rumors or theories. After a bit, it was realized that familiars were being given out for therapeutic purposes. Although Ruby didn't want to admit she might need an animal to comfort her... she was tempted.

She traipsed over to the area where they were. Lots of other students and adults alike were trying to coax a familiar over to them, desperate for some feeling of safety. Ruby approached a Litch, awkwardly attempting to make small talk. "Which ones have you got your eyes on?" She, herself, was eyeballing a red spectrefox.

Arabelle was suddenly jolted out of her distraction. She felt herself flinching slightly and felt a brief stab of annoyance. Not at the one who had spoken to her, easily identifiable as a Fallen due to their wings, but at herself. There was a time when it was nearly impossible to catch her by surprise, because she was always aware of her surroundings. Now more than ever she needed to pull her mind back to that state.

Arabelle pulled her blanket a little closer around her shoulders, wincing as the cloth dragged over her bandages. "I was just attracted to this area because of how calmer it seemed," she responded truthfully, still hearing the worry and slight panic in the conversations behind her. She glanced at the Fallen, then turned her eyes back to the group of people and familiars.

"I have some familiars at home. I'm just hoping they'll be okay." She bit the edge of her lip, worried again.

Coco sat down to wait to see if her new friends would arrive soon. Also to see if a familiar would come play with her.

The kitten didn't seem to have got the memo about that, though. Once it was confident that Kuni had a good grip on Mushroom, it continued its thorough inspection of Kuni's legs, rubbing its sides against Kuni's shins with its back arched. Wasn't that supposed to be a bad sign?

It couldn't have been, though--the kitten was--purring! Kuni blinked. Did this cat like him?!

Everything around Adalyn felt like a blur. Running from ... whatever those things had been, watching other be attacked, coming through the portal, and now, here she stood, in the bunker. That seemed to be an accurate thing to call this place - it was sparse and deep.

For some time, she simply leaned against the wall, processing what had just happened. It felt like this night had passed in the wink of an eye. Her knees felt weak, and her stomach was still doing flips. If they hadn't been safe in the university, were they really safe here? And still, no one had really given any answers. But after the attack, she figured that was an unlikely pipe dream.

Adee noticed some students gathering up in a group, and the appearent introduction of service familiars. Perhaps that was what she needed... to unwind a bit.

Chervil observed more arrivals coming over to see the familiars, but still had yet to glimpse a face he recognized. Still scratching thr vespercat's ears, he was so lost in thought that he barely noticed when it politely slipped away.

Suddenly, he spotted what he was hoping for; a familiar face. Not wanting to shout or cause any sort of scene with this still very shaken crowd. he raised his hand in a small wave at Adalyn.

Kuni bit his lip. How long had he loved cats? Well, for a significant portion of his childhood, actually. But they'd never seemed interested. And yet, on this night, of all nights, a cat had...chosen him. "I really hope you don't have an owner yet," he croaked. Mushroom whined and licked his mouth. Apparently the fox hadn't liked the sound of his voice?

Illya looked around the room as the fox repositioned their head such that she was now scratching the front of their ear. It seemed as though the service animals were doing their job. All around her, children and adults alike, some of them still being bandaged up by the medics (or whatever civilians called them), were distracted with petting the animals and trying to coax them over. It seemed like the atmosphere was lightening...mostly.
