 Kuni sat down against a supply crate and buried his face in Mushroom's fur. He couldn't think of anything else to do. He just felt so drained. Mushroom was licking his arm with a determination that implied that he intended to lick Kuni's bark off. Kuni sighed and rubbed Mushroom's ear.
Something rubbed against one of Kuni's leaves. He jumped.

 Arabelle reached the group. There did indeed seem to be quite a few familiars. She couldn't tell who they belonged to, but the group seemed to be presided over by an imp with a pair of horns curling from their forehead. She hesitated a little off to the side, curious but hesitant to intrude just yet.

 Illya's attempt at initiating contact with the spectrefox was a success. The fox sniffed at her fingers with a dignified air. Illya tried moving her fingers to see what their reaction would be.

There was no one near him who could have done it, and Mushroom's tail wasn't rubbing against his leg (it was wagging slowly and rubbing against his thigh instead). The only explanation for the mysterious rustler was a tiny cat, a half-grown kitten if Kuni was any judge, rubbing its face against one of his remaining branches.

The murmurs of conversation were actually pretty soothing. There was a ton of normalcy to them that was quite appealing after all the trauma of the evening. Too many conversations in the room had the sharp edges of fear and panic. Arabella scooted a little closer towards the group.

Arabelle found herself drifting closer still. She was actually feeling a bit tired, and debated sitting down with the group for a while. Not for long, there was probably something she could be doing to help the situation, but it would be nice to rest a bit.

Mushroom noticed the interloper and squirmed around in Kuni's arm to bark at the kitten.
The kitten jumped back, ears laid flat against its head, and hissed at Mushroom, its fur (all billion pounds of it, from the looks of it) fluffed out. But it did not move away. Instead, its fur flattened again and its ears perked up. It was...thinking?

The fox pulled their head back, but did not step away from Illya. Instead, they sniffed her fingers again. They seemed to be willing to let her touch them.

Arabelle's feet were starting to hurt just a little, but she was afraid if she sat down she might not get back up for a while. Instead she shifted her weight back and forth to hopefully ease back some of the pressure.

 Hiroshi thought the familiars were adorable, but he wanted to let other people have a chance with them first. He wasn't doing all that terrible right now, though he was definitely concerned for the survivors who had recently shown up.Everyone/Anyone Feel free to interact with Hiroshi!

The kitten took a cautious step forward. Mushroom was struggling in Kuni's arms, but the Dryad refused to let go of his fennekit. He didn't want him to chase the kitten away. In a crowd like this, the poor thing could easily get trampled, and besides, it probably had an owner around.

 With everyone working together, it seemed they had all gotten everything done rather quickly. The seniors and older students who were visiting made short work of the windows and doors, boarding them up and hopefully sealing them well enough so that whatever was out there wouldn't come in, and the juniors had gathered a small mountain of usable supplies. When the announcement came for everyone to head down into the safehouse... basement? Bunker? He wasn't sure what to call it at this point, but they were all told to go down and hide. Kingston looked around for his friends. Vanna wasn't hard to spot, being able to see his dark hair over the crowds fairly easily. But what about Coco and Eilwen? He stood there and sniffed at the air, hoping to pick up either girl's scent, but there were so many people it was hard to tell. He lingered by the windows, trying to look in and around the people as they headed down the secret passage. Eventually, he would have to go in himself.
