Bobbi had been on his way to pick up his son from school with his friend, when the two of them, along with many others, were ushered into the university with much a hurry and worry. Feeling a slight panic after they were left to settle into the auditorium, Bobbie turned to his friend and just made a quite concerned face.Usually, Exodus wouldn't have minded someone being handsy with him, but this was making him late to pick up his kid. Not cool dude, not cool. As his friend gave him his concerned daddy look, all the demon could do was pat the litch on the shoulder. "Don't fret, man... the kids will be fine and so will we."

For a few hours things seemed to have been quiet. The arts and crafts stands seem to have added some cheer to the group. Discussion that, perhaps, the rest of the university could be opened to the group delighted those feeling cramped within the large but sealed off room. A corner had been supplied with blankets and pillows for those who wished to rest.
It seemed that, at least until they discovered what was happening, things would remain peaceful.
Then the screaming started.
A shrill scream echoed from deep within the university. A teacher had wandered off to try and collect some medicine for a sick student. The room abruptly ceased all chatter as they waited in baited breath. Shuffling behind the sealed doors could be heard.
Then, silence.
It was a thick and heavy silence, full of apprehension and a morbid curiosity. The dean, who had been within the auditorium, made a move to approach the doors, freezing when a loud bang hit the door. One. Two. Three.
"Let me in!" A panicked voice cried out, hands pounding against the door violently. "Let me i- aaaaaah!" Their scream echoed throughout the hall, and then a loud thud could be heard outside the door.
Before the group could comprehend what was happening, the doors slammed open, and a towering figure stood at the entrance. Behind them stood a crowd of hunched over figures, all in cloaks. The strange group shifted, and then suddenly, they moved.
The closest person, a small teacher, was yanked closer as a figure reached down. The sound of teeth meeting flesh was electric, and her body fell to the ground shortly after. Lifeless. Gone.
"RUN!" The dean screeched.
And the crowd did just that.
What to Do: The hooded figures are out to get those hiding within this university, and your character needs to run if they wish to escape with their life. RNG 1-100. If you get a 30-39, or 50-59, your character managed to escape only after a figure bit you, meaning you are both wounded and have a large bite mark somewhere on your body. Any other number means you escaped without a scratch.
If you are playing a freshling, do not roll for them. They managed to escape without a bite.
Once you are outside, you will find staff gesturing towards nearby portals. Your character will enter them and be immediately transported to the academy, which will have their doors wide open for you. Do not RP entering the academy just yet, your character will be forced to wait within the grounds as people pile into a group.
The next round will begin Jan 9th, 2017.
There may be minor updates before then to this thread, so keep an eye out while RPing. After this round, this thread will be removed and any further RPing should be done at the academy. Wait until the next round to RP in the academy thread.

Adee had kept herself quite busy, trying to get answers from anyone in charge. The hybrid hadn't had an success, but that didn't prevent her from giving it her best shot. Someone had to know something. And it simply wasn't right that it was being kept from them, as far as she was concerned.
She was near the front of the auditorium, trying to question the teachers, when the scream began. It was chilling, piercing kind the scream. The sort of sound once heard could never be forgotten. Adalyn froze, her eye whipping to the direction the scream had come from.
Everything went totally silent, except for a faint shuffling. And then the banging. Once. Twice. Three times. Then a shout for help. Adee wanted to surge forward, to help, but she was frozen. And then more screaming. Her throat felt tight, and the doors banged opened.
Adalyn could hardly believe her eyes. Great hulking cloaked figures loomed in the doorway. She still felt frozen, until they started to move. To snatch. The very teacher she'd wanted to question. A strange, strangled noise left her throat. She felt like she wanted to empty to stomach, the wet ripping, rending sounds were nothing she'd never heard.
"RUN!"
It was the only thing she heard, and her body obeyed. Thankful in the back of her mind, for being tall and athletic, she darted through the crowd, trying her best to block out the noises. Wet, rending noises. And more screams. All she could do was run, and block the rest out as best she could.
She burst through the open door, panting wildly, partially from fear, partially form exertion. Glancing around, she saw a university staff member who'd made a portal, and was ushering those students who'd already made it out through them. Adee darted towards it, not daring to look back.

There was no time for thought– only action. Astra immediately leapt up, running back away from the rest of the crowd before starting to dart towards the portal. The idea was to get around these monsters– and though one managed to grab at her skirt, the fabric tore easily enough, and she continued bolting.
When another shape got too close to her, she acted in another flash of instinct– grabbing a chair and hurling it behind her at them while she continued running.
It was only after she got outside and was ushered through a portal that she realized that she hadn't known just what– or maybe who– she had hurled that chair at.
Oh s**t, oh please say I didn't hurt anyone....

Nanashi stared at the oncoming horror, unable to tear her eyes away from the mangled body of the teacher. Even the dean's panicked shout to run barely managed to filter through what she was seeing. In the end it too being hit by one of the panicked students to wake her up. The other student bounced harshly off her shoulder, stumbled, but kept going. Nanashi turned and started running as fast as she could, but there was debris strewn everywhere. Tables and chairs, once in some manner of order were chaos and obstacles. The crowd jostled and screamed, someone knocked into her, and she went sprawling over a pile of...she didn't even know, she was so panicked. She felt herself being pulled to her feet, and was briefly grateful another student had stopped to help her. When she was turned around, however, she came face to face with what was not a student. Nanashi screamed in horror as it grinned at her then screamed again in agony as teeth went through her cheek. The pain was intense and all consuming, the bakeneko knew it was all over for her. She kicked, trying vainly to escape as she felt teeth rend flesh and grind against bone. Suddenly the hulking thing that had her in its teeth was gone. Someone was pulling her, pushing her through the room and into one of the portals. She landed hard on the other side, dropping to her knees. Her face felt like fire was licking it, her mouth twisted into a scream, but her voice had broken when she screamed earlier so no sound came out. Just a horrid, ragged whisper.

Liam had been sitting off in one of the corners, or at least as near to the corners as it was possible to get in such crowded conditions. He was past being confused at this point, with all the shuffling of people and the buzzing of rumor and speculation. It had only gotten worse with the transmission. Not that Liam wasn't a bit disturbed as well, but what was the point in working himself up into a state of panic? Something would happen or it wouldn't, and he might as well just sit and wait to see which it would be. Either way it would probably take a while. Liam had been people-watching for some time and felt the stirrings of thorough boredom. He was debating a nap when the banging and shouting started. He looked off in the direction of the door, lifting himself as tall as he could while his tail creaked in protest. Suddenly the heavy wood was thrown aside, leaving a wide, dark gap. Liam could only barely make out large mass of figures crowded in that gap. Then the screaming started, with a single voice calling out to run. It was chaos after that. All Liam would later remember was that he was mostly focused on making sure no one stepped on his tail in the massive pressing of bodies. Still, he might have had an easier time than most without feet to get tangled since he noticed a lot of people go sprawling, some over each other and some over the mass of furniture, small objects, and other unidentifiable bits that Liam felt he really didn't want to closely examine. Sudden screaming coming practically in front of Liam brought him to a halt. Someone had fallen, two someones, but something in him instinctively recognized the situation as a bad one before he even realized one person was biting on the face of the other. As the person (a Bakeneko?) kicked at the thing biting them, Liam was at their side. The thing probably didn't even know the Naga was there until it felt fangs biting it. Liam managed to pull the thing away and gave it a staggering thwack with his tail. He really hoped, whatever it was, that it wasn't immune to Naga venom. If it was...well he had hit it pretty hard, and Naga's had powerful tails. The Bakeneko (he was sure now) was on the floor and making pained noises. It didn't look like they were up to moving on their own. Liam quickly ducked and got an arm over his shoulders. Pushing and pulling, he fought with his burden through the crowd, outside, and to the portal. As soon as he passed he pulled the Bakeneko a little ways away, though as they'd lost their footing it might have been more accurate to say he dragged them. Their face was twisted into a silent scream and covered in a mask of blood. It made Liam feel a little sick, but he determinedly got them a little further from the crowded portal. "It's okay, it'll be okay, I got you," he muttered, over and over, repeating the words like they were some kind of magic charm. What should he do? The Bakeneko didn't look like they would survive the next five minutes without some kind of help. He didn't know if they could stand, didn't even know if they could hear his reassurances. He scanned the crowd frantically, as though help might manifest from thin air. It seemed like there was nothing for it but to make fore the Academy. Liam looked at the Bakeneko again. He didn't know if they'd be able to walk, even assisted. He repositioned his grip, trying to get them into a more comfortable carrying position rather than just dragging them.

It was one of the few times in Arabelle's life where she wasn't sure what to do. It seemed right to go around to the others, the ones who looked a bit more worried, and try to speak words of comfort to calm them. The problem was, she didn't know if she had that in her. She had no answers, no way of knowing whether her assurances were false or not. How could she hope to calm others when she herself was a bundle of nerves on the inside? Well, panicking would do nothing to help the situation. Arabelle practiced her breathing techniques and felt her heart rate at least become more level, even if her mind was still awash with various scenarios, half-formed plans, and real concerns. She moved softly through the groups of people, pausing here or there when a word of comfort seemed like it might help, and teaching her breathing technique in at least an attempt to keep anxieties in check. It was in the middle of one such teaching when there was a sudden bang on the doors. Arabelle's head came up and swiveled towards the door, like everyone else in the room. It was deathly silent, aside from those bangs. The screaming started, and as the Dean went for the door Arabelle found herself biting off a startled cry that involuntarily started in her throat. She wasn't heartless, but to risk the lives of everyone here for one person? In the end, it didn't matter. The doors did nothing to stop the invaders. Arabelle's body was tensed like a bowstring; she didn't need to hear the command to run, she was ready to go from the moment those doors opened. It was only the tenuous grip of shock that had held her in place. What followed was like the worst kind of nightmare, the ones where danger is after you and you run and run as fast as you can but it seems like you're getting nowhere. There was a mass of bodies in front of her, bodies she couldn't seem to get past no matter how hard she tried to find an opening. She stumbled several times, and each time she felt fear choking her at the thought of being trampled in the panicked masses, combining with the pure terror illicited by the shrill screams and sharp-yet-wet sounds of tearing. The metallic stink of blood filled Arabelle's nose, and she willed herself to move faster. There was no warning. One minute she was pressed in the crowd, fighting towards the doors. The next there was a strange feeling, like the press of the crowd suddenly eased, and a shiver like a cold breeze rippled across her body. Suddenly Arabelle's left shoulder was on fire! A weight that hadn't been there before burdened her and made her stumble, falling to the left and on top of something quite solid. A scream born of terror and pain tore from her throat, and without thinking she brought her right fist around so fast that she almost wrenched her shoulder. Certainly it, and her fist, were now broadcasting levels of pain almost equal to her left shoulder. Be it fist, fall, or creature not having a good hold (or a combination of all three), Arabelle felt the hold on her released. With a strangled sob she scrambled back to her feet, fear giving her new levels of speed. She made it outside and to the portal without further incident. On the other side she moved away, trying to escape some of the crush. No longer driven by the blind panic to run, the pain in her shoulders felt like it redoubled. There was a warm wetness trickling down her left side. Arabelle used what little level-headedness she had left to try to calm her breathing before she started to have a panic attack. She brought her right hand up, wincing as the muscles cried in protest, and tried to staunch the flow coming from her shoulder. It wasn't serious yet, but she needed to get it cleaned and bound up soon before it became serious. She glanced at it only once, and the shiver tap-dancing on her spine combined with a welling of nausea convinced her to keep it covered. The bleeding wounds were in the perfect shape of a bite-mark.

After the initial hubbub regarding the student fainting, the auditorium had been quiet for what Chervil deemed a reasonable period of time. Those who sought answers seemed to be doing so in a more calm and less accusatory manner, particularly when the dean's increased presence seemed to reveal that they knew just as much as everyone else. Chervil knew there was someone out there that knew SOMETHING, but who and what continued to be anyone's guess.
He was curious when a teacher left to obtain medicine, and he hovered close to the door, hoping that perhaps the teacher might also return with insight, or at least an explanation for that rushing noise outside that continued with the persistance of hurricane winds. The sudden scream turned his blood to ice, and the swiftly-cut pleas to be let in only caused himself to be further jolted by the current of terror that was coursing through the crowd.
The doors flew open then, and everything turned from frozen to bedlam. The dean's cry to run was nearly drowned out by screams as a teacher wss swiftly pulled to the ground by the robed figures. Chervil turned around and began to follow the others. "Hurry! Go!" he called out to a few who still seemed too terrified to move, and as fast as he could, he made for a constructed portal where everyone was swiftly escaping. He stayed just long enough to usher a few more students through before vanishing himself, reappearing in what appeared to be the academy grounds.
He looked around at the panicked people arond him, noticing with alarm that several were crying out about bite-shaped wounds. He moved through the crowds, hoping to offer assistance with any first aid that was being conducted.

Bobbi turned his attentions as soon as the shrill shrieking began! The hooded figures startled him so and he clung to his friend. "We need to get out, now!" Normally the litch wouldn't be so panicky, but watching someone get killed before their eyes changed that real fast!Exodus didn't argue on little bit and grabbed Bobbi's hand, yanking him along toward the portal they were being issued to. This was something that was both boggling the demon's mind and leaving him feeling dazed. As soon as they were through the portal, the two gathered with the rest, unharmed and waiting the next move

Celedrin Hornwood After Celedrin had been returned to the floor and the sulky kirin sent on his way (he had the dryad to thank for that), the imp managed to achieve some semblance of calm. Busying himself with organising the beads on the table by colour, shape, size, and material, he all but forgot about his current predicament. One might even say he had begun to enjoy himself. Of course, the distraction was only temporary.
Celedrin's frayed nerves returned when a scream sounded over the rabble and the auditorium doors burst open. He braced for flight. He could not see through the crowd but his instincts told him enough. A second agonised scream a moment later only confirmed his fears. He was off through the crowd like a shot.
If there was one thing Celedrin was good it, it was running away.

Sylvan stayed relatively quite throughout his time at Leviathan having kept himself busy by pondering what had been broadcasted over the radio, and listening in on what other's were discussing over the matter. He could hardly believe what was happening and did his best to stay cool, but it would be a lie to say that he wasn't affected by the high tension within the shelter. It came as a relief when he noticed others immersing themselves in arts and crafts even though he didn't participate if only for a moment before the screaming started. As if confirming everyone's fears and doing away with his suspended disbelief over the situation when the hooded figures began pouring into the room and as people ran away things became very really, very fast. Pushing himself off the wall Sylvan followed the panicked crowd towards the outside trying with difficulty to move forward without falling down as each nightmare and daydream pushed against each other to get closer the the portals where others were being ushered out.

A sliver of dread sliced through the Litch's spine when the first scream split through the air. He happened to be close enough to the doors that he heard the commotion outside. The moment the doors burst open he lost himself in the adrenaline rush, his legs pushing him forward and propelling him out the door. He got caught in the massive escape, ushered to a portal to be deposited at the Academy. He silently took refuge inthe center of the group, shaken to his core at the sights he had witnessed back on the university campus. What were those things? And what kind of carnage lay at the scene he just left?

Kanako had been flitting between seats in the auditorium, unable to stay in any one place, her anxiety of not knowing what was happening causing her head to fill with a large variety of crazy possibilities. As time went on, she found it easier to focus on the others who were occupying themselves with making crafts, until suddenly there was the sound of someone banging on the auditorium doors, demanding to be let in.
Biting her lip, Kanako stared at the doors, only able to watch as the hooded figures flooded in. As the group all seemed to gather just inside of the doors, Kanako began to slowly edge backwards, calculating an escape route in her mind. There was no way that these hooded figures could be a good thing, especially given the horrific noises made by whomever had been trying to get into the auditorium.
The hooded figures suddenly moved, biting anyone who was unable to get away fast enough. Kanako felt immense panic, moving as fast as she could to flee.

Not wanting to hover once the crisis was over, Kiera drifted off to the corner again, hoping to fade into the background as she gave herself sometime to think. She needed to process- and once the others were at least busy entertaining themselves she slipped off.. She'd always known she would go into medicine, but she'd never really THOUGHT about what that meant in practice. She had real power to help, and that was a heady scary thought. She'd acted on instinct and teachings- that had to be enough for now. But as she looked around the auditorium of people calming down she made a resolution. Anything she could do to make sure people got out of this mess, she would do.
As Fate would have it Kiera didn't have long to wait. Sitting near the wall with her bag beside her, she didn’t notice that an instructor had left, until that first scream. Her head snapped up and she held her breath with the test of the auditorium. Then for her at least it seemed time slowed, she watched as the dean seemed to saunter towards the doors, then freeze. In the silence that followed the pleas echoed and hurt her ears, the doors burst open and the teacher was grabbed. The colors were electric, vivid, the sounds clear and pristine as she looked and listened in horror. She had all the time in the world to stand and gather her bags while students and teachers alike streamed through the doors.
What seemed like hours were only seconds as she helped people up and ushered them towards the door. The figures scattered and before she knew it she was among the stragglers in the room, most of the students outside, when she heard a snarl beside her, she spun and reflexively raised her left arm as one of the hooded figures pounced her. She screamed but it was lost in the din. Teeth came at her, sank into her arm and then pulled away. She lashed out, hooves flashing as she kicked and ran at last. Reaching the portal she all but fell through.
Only then did she notice the pain in her arm, the blood trail she’d left, and she looked stunned at her arm just staring for a few seconds.
