Coco smiled a little at Vanna, she didn't know any other side of him than kind, he had been kind to her the whole time she had known him. Which at this point felt like forever, even if it had only been a day or two, the hours seemed to drag on forever in the dark madness that was this situation. Coco didn't know what she would have done if Kingston hadn't tickled her nose whenever the heck it was she had been sitting on the floor in the school having a pity party by herself. Vanna, Eilwen and Kingston had all been so kind to her, they had made bracelets together. Coco touched her bracelets and got up ready to try to get going to the dorms.

Illya followed her search partner, albeit at a slower pace. This Academy was huge, and there was a strong possibility that neither she nor Adalyn knew the layout of the halls. If the child was in their area of search, they could well miss them just by not knowing all of the school's nooks and crannies. They could be dooming the child by ignorance...

No. I don't want to think like that!




Kuni followed Gaius's lead. The building was dark out here--dark and foreboding. The empty halls sent a shiver up Kunibert's spine. He wanted to leave this place. He wanted to be out of here as soon as possible. Every shadow became a lurking figure, waiting to pounce on them.

May the White Crown rot Howl and her suggestions! He was beginning to think that it might be her fault that Ashi was so nervous!

Kuni slipped into a nearby bathroom and checked the stalls. There was no sign of the kid anywhere. This bathroom had a twin, though, and throwing propriety to the wind, he checked that one as well. Nope, no children there. "Bassroom is clear," he reported to the others.





Illya opened the nearest door. It appeared to be the entrance to a storage area piled high with boxes. She looked behind all of the boxes, and even in a few, but there was no sign of the missing child. Illya bit her lip. She couldn't help but feel that they were going in circles.

"Adalyn, did you catch what the kid looked like? I haven't heard any mention."

Okay, so Eilwen already had a hard enough time dealing with anxiety. She was just starting to make some progress with her own self-esteem related issues. Then this had to happen. She tried ignoring the creeks of the building, but in the back of her mind she kept picturing all the worst case scenarios. Something nasty creeping up behind them, popping out from behind a door, busting through a window...

She would have been better off in the bunker. Definitely. Even Coco was starting to have a hard time now. Vanna was giving her the right advice, deep and calming breathes. She started to fiddle with the bracelets on her wrists, counting the beads over and over. Something to keep her focused. At a time like this she wished she was out enjoying ice cream with Fakir.

"Someone's bound to find them soon." She said in a shaky voice. She might not sound like the most confident Chimera, but at least she was trying.

She started to take the stairs, and shot a smile to her search partner. "Oh really, what did you study?" There were a lot of stairs to get back to ground level, her hooves clicked hollowly on every step. At each landing, she glanced left and right, and paused to listen. Only silence. It hadn't been silence in the safehouse, so she assumed that was a good sign.

After what felt like a small eon to her, she reached the group level. "I'll admit, I'm not totally familiar with the academy, but I'm pretty sure to dorms are the way. " She gestured down a long hall that ran near the auditorium.

Niamh watched Aedus enter the darkened classroom, and crossed her fingers, Maybe they'd be lucky, at the child would the in there. I mean, there was always a chance? And something good had to happen at some point ...

Counting her beads and focusing on her breathing was really helpful. It was letting her ignore the sounds around her for the time being. There were plenty of other people in the school right now and they were all people searching for that child. She tried to picture the sounds that she heard form day to day at the Academy. The sounds of the other students, teachers, and caretakers. It was normal to hear a lot of sound from the school, what was not normal was the quiet.

Kingston was glad that Coco was calming down, thanks to Vanna. He looked at Eilwen. She seemed to be having a rough time of it too. "Hey..." He took a couple steps closer to Eilwen and placed a hand on her shoulder. How did Vanna do it? Focus on breathing? Wait, what was she doing with her bracelets? Was she counting the beads? Well, if that helped her. "If you need a hand to hold, Vanna and I are right here." He offered. He wasn't really that good at dealing with panic. He didn't have the same anxieties the younger members of their party seemed to have. Kingston was largely rationalizing the sounds away. That was the furnace, that was another group walking down the hall, that was a door someone closed. Yup. This was totally ok. Someone's bound to find the kid. Betcha it'll be Mr. Stoic over there, eh? Can you imagine him being the first person a frightened child sees with that stern face he's got on now?" He was hoping to make her laugh.
