Username: jinxgirl5 Character: Arabelle
Dream: (RP this!) Arabelle was at work, grading papers. Outside the sun was shining and she could hear the voices of students, chatting and laughing and enjoying the good weather. She was too busy to do the same. Besides, there wasn't anyone she had to spend time with. She'd been working at the university for several months now, but she still got those looks. She'd have thought it was just because she was a teacher and there was that social rift between students and teachers. But no, even the staff wouldn't meet her eyes. No one seemed to want to associate with her, let alone anything closer. Well she'd muddle through though, somehow, but it didn't stop her from longing for things to be different...
The scene faded. Faces still turned from her, looking past her, but her perspective was different. Shorter. She was a child. Adults around her pretended she was little more than a shadow. Her own parents were so busy trying to climb higher up the social ladder that she was punished for the least of things. Speak only when spoken to, but they never even looked her way. She effectively became the shadow they all thought of her as. All she wanted was a bit of love. A hug, maybe some encouraging words every now and then. With every turn she was only met by scorn and loneliness. Damn them all. They wanted a silent shadow, that's what they'd get. And soon they'd see there was nowhere they could hide their dirty little secrets where the shadows couldn't get to them!
She was in the street, alone. Children around her laughed and played in groups, but whenever she tried to approach they'd just melt away. When she called out they didn't seem to hear her. Then everything faded and she was alone. A group of well-dressed children, slightly older than her, appeared. They circled her, laughing and pushing her roughly between them. She fell several times, her clothing ripped, blood oozing out of scrapes, but they just laughed and laughed and continued to torment her. She grew angry, so angry she felt like hardly more than a feral thing and lashed out. The children melted into adults, her parents, and she was backhanded to the ground. They loomed over her, shrieking about her appearance. The mess she made with her blood, the cost of her torn clothing, how utterly worthless she was. No concern, none, not ever. The rage that had gripped her before was gone and in its place was utter, black despair.
Arabelle covered her head with her arms and curled up. She shook and sobbed as her parents multiplied. A ring around her. A group. A crowd. Faceless shadows surrounding her, their voices screeches that blended into a whole with only a few bits of their scorn being audible. The voices tore into her, picked up her and shook her around until she was encompassed in a sea of pain. She could only endure, like a leaf caught in a hurricane, even as she was slowly torn to shreds.
"Enough."
That single word rang out, like the clear tone of a bell. A crimson light pierced the darkness, encircling Arabelle. Sheltering her. The shadowy wraiths around her screamed and withered away as the light pieced them. Suddenly Arabelle felt the ground beneath her. She was healed, her clothing in one piece. She stood there a moment, confused. The crimson light appeared in front of her, morphing. It took on a humanoid forth, though Arabelle could not see any details.
"Who are you," Arabelle asked, uncertainty in her voice.
"Someone who loves you. I have seen your struggles and your pain, my dear one. Don't be afraid." Around the crimson light dark figures began to step forward. They were enshrouded in shadows and vague, but Arabelle felt no menace from them. Instead she felt a welcome so all encompassing she dropped to her knees and began to cry.
"We are your family now, my dear. With us you will never be alone, never have to endure the scorn and pain that is all that you have ever been given." The crimson light flowed out to encircle her, and Arabelle felt a love as strong as the feeling of welcome had been. Love. Welcome. Acceptance. Family.
Come to me, my child," the sweet voice whispered. "I am close. Come to me. All you have to do is wake up. Wake up!"
Arabelle opened her eyes, eyes gone as black as the darkness that had tried to consume her, with a crimson light as bright as the one from her dreams shining from the depths.
Motivation: Arabelle's violence is motivated by the feeling of exclusion she has had all her life. While the dream dramatizes things a little, she has led a pretty lonely life. She views any group of people, even if it's just two, with profound rage, as it brings back her feelings of exclusion. It would be fair to say in her more lucid moments that she will feel a particular rage towards Elves over other races.

Username: MiladyEmerald Character: Kiera
Dream: (RP this!) For as long as she knew there was a Below she had wanted to go there and study healing. AS she graduated her junior year her loving family and extended family finally gave her the wish she’d held for so long- Kiera had been enrolled at Leviathan Below. She left her sunlit world for one of eternal twilight. Kiera felt so adventurous going Below to study she was surrounded by love and light and laughter- and then her dream fast forwarded from the party where she was told she could go- to her first day at Leviathan.
She was looked at askance almost everywhere she went, people seemed to melt away before her. She chalked it up to her first day and being new in town quite literally- but the dream didn’t get any better. Days turned into weeks of her throwing herself into her healing arts, longing to help those around her. And as time wore on a fear began to eat at her- that she would never have a Family she chose- of course she had her family above-
And the dream shifted to the party, how she’d gotten all the beautiful beauty products, and yet still wanted to cry feeling utterly alone and misunderstood in the midst of her giant family. Their laughing smiling faces morphed into something other, something darker~ shifting eyes looking at her as the people of Below did, looks of love fading into questioning stares, wondering looks if she’d ever measure up…. and then something dawned on her dream self- her family wasn’t giving her what she wanted, they weren’t taking her best interests at heart, they were giving her away, getting rid of her.
Her Dream self looked down at her body, and saw the thing she’d seen last before the darkness claimed her- her own dark skin of her left forearm spreading black veins, tendrils of who knew what reaching out to claim her, to take her, to make her SICK in a way that couldn’t be cured.
Kiera tore at her bandages, the wound below black and rotten looking, she almost choked on the smell of putrefaction and frantically she put her right hand over her left arm and used all she could think of to make the wound go away, turn lighter, heal, anything- and nothing worked.
She was a failure- she couldn’t help herself, couldn’t help anyone else, and even all the knowledge, all the time spent, all the efforts of will had lead to this, her family spurning her, a wound taking her over that was un-healable. She had failed utterly. And in doing so lost any chance of showing her family they were wrong- that she was capable. That she could stand on her own two hooves and make something of herself.
If she could have ended her own life out of pure shame she would have. Kiera felt the true blackness of below closing in and was sure it was going to suffocate her, and she had no will to fight, no will to try and change things, she simply laid down and accepted that she was a total failure.
But as the darkness consumed her it lightened around her. Her family of origin may have spurned her, those at the University may have rejected her before they even knew her, and she may be unable to heal herself- but the one being who truly loved her was near, she could feel it like a beacon pulling her being towards the light and love offered. A tunnel opened up around her in the blackness, fading to a pinpoint of light on the horizon, and Kiera knew she had to get up, to find the person who cared so much for her, who chose KIERA as their Family! Nothing would stand in her way to get to them!
Motivation: Kiera is furious that she was unable to heal herself, or really help anyone else. The dream turned her feelings of unease to total loss of her family, and the one being that chose HER as family was out there somewhere, and Kiera was going to find them, no matter what. Any obstacles in her way were to be dealt with in all due violence because they stood between Keira and her Person. All the passion in her healers soul is now turned to causing harm, until she reaches the one.

Dream: (RP this!) Honey was, as always, raving in an underground club. The lights were flashing everywhere, bathing the faceless dancers around them in ever-changing colours. Their body slid through the crowd, hips swaying and arms pumping, never staying still long enough to notice the lack of 'detail' in the people around them. But it didn't matter; all that mattered was that they kept dancing.
Then something happened. The upbeat dance music shifted suddenly, turning into a dark, deep bass. Honey stopped, hesitating for the first time in a club. Something was wrong. The people around Honey had faces now, but they were twisted, wrong. They weren't mutated, but something just seemed... off. As the music grew more intense the room got darker as the people around Honey closed in on them. Long, furry legs began to erupt from their backs, causing Honey to cry out in fear and attempt to stumble away. The spider-people pressed on, almost suffocating the hybrid as they were forced to the ground, cowering under their arms.
"You can't save us."
The pressure disappeared, the music stopped. Honey slowly lowered their arms, realising they had become completely alone. Gasping for air, they stumbled to their feet, now apparently in a deep, dark basement by themself. They ran desperately for an exit, but there was none. Tears were streaming down Honey's face now. They couldn't be alone, not alone. This couldn't be their fault, no. No!
"They are gone."
Honey turned, seeing a blinding white doorway in one of the walls. The senior collapsed to their knees, clutching their face in their shaking hands. They couldn't be gone. They couldn't!
"You loved them, but they didn't love you. You are alone."
Honey looked up at the light, tears silently sliding down their cheeks and onto the floor. They were alone.
"But I am here. I will love you. Only me."
The light grew bright and exploded around them. Honey woke slowly, an arm still over their eyes to cover them from the blinding light.
"Only you."
Motivation: In some twisted way, Honey's anger is actually towards the infected. But it was clouded in abandonment issues and suspicions. They had done their best to save as many people as they could during this attack, but almost no one had offered them a hand the entire time. Honey wants to hurt others as a way to get their undivided attention.

Dream: (RP this!) Coco's dreams started in mist flowing across the ground she started seeing the faces of the people she thought cared about her that she had meant at the school. Coco was an orphan she so desperately wanted a family, she wanted a place to belong, she had left Calypso in she had let Kingston, Vanna and Eilwen in. Coco screamed and cried in her dream as each of those people told her she was worthless and they were leaving her behind. They didn't want a frightened little worthless demon on their team. Coco was alone in the dark, just as she had been when she was a freshling at the orphanage. Always left behind Coco's parents hadn't wanted her. Her first friend Marco went away. They always left, no one every stayed.
Coco sobbed as the dream started over Calypso ran into her arms and they pulled back and said "I made a mistake your not the one I want, you were a waste of my time, how could you have ever thought we would be a couple." She sneered at Coco. Coco sobbed and cried out "Calie please no no don't say that.. I I I..." The dream Calie laughed "See you can't even fight for what you want your worthless no one will ever love you." Then the dream faded into darkness once again.
Coco opened her eyes to see Kingston, Vanna and Eilwen, voices echoed around her "Your a worthless liability, we never wanted you, we don't care about you, no one will ever care about you, no one will ever love you, no one will ever stay with you." On and on Coco's nightmare circled her mind. Till Coco sat in her dream world rocking in a corner wishing the voices would just go away. "No no no." Coco whispered and cried. Eventually, she grew angry a darkness filled her heart of all the people who had abandoned her and left her behind. The darkness whispered lies but some of them were true. Her parents had left her, her first friend had left her. Everyone would leave her she couldn't let everyone hurt her again no matter what. Even if it meant destroying them.
Motivation: Coco's anger is at everyone who left her behind, in a quiet way told her she wasn't worth anything by leaving her behind. Coco has always wanted somewhere to belong. Now anything standing in her way will be destroyed.

Dream: (RP this!)
The Dean loomed tall, standing at the podium. A smirk was spread across Their face. Adalyn shifted in her seat, fingers tapping on the chair arm. Still They smirked. Looking right at her, They smirked.
Over the intercom, the Message repeated again and again. It taunted Adalyn, as if evacuation order was not burned into her mind. And still, They smirked at her. Impatient, she pushed to her feet, and trotted towards Them.
"Excuse me, Dean, could you please-"
"Silence."
"But you must know-"
"Silence."
Anger bubbled up in Adalyn. That smirk made it so clear that They knew! They knew exactly why everyone had been ordered to evacuate. They knew who this Other was. And They were withholding answers, as if this was another experiment.
"You need to tell me!" A pleading note entered Adee's voice. She hated when she sounded like that. It made her sound so young, so vulnerable.
Their smirk quirked even further up Their lips.
"Silence."
Adalyn wanted to scream, to assail the Dean, to do anything for the answers to what was happening. She turned abruptly on her heels and strode away from Them.
That's when she noticed the Other. Beckoning, welcoming.
"Come child - I can answer your questions."
Motivation: Adalyn is motivated by the fear of the unknown. Before being attacked she believed that those in charge knew more about the situation that they revealed. Her fiercest hatred will be directed towards those who she views as authority figures.

Username: Nasaiki Character: Vanna
Dream: (RP this!) There was a dripping sound as water fell from the ceiling and pooled on the ground. It only covered the floor by two inches but it was enough after time to start sapping the heat from any one unfortunate to be standing in it. The area was barely lit, yet there was just enough light to see the young child. It was a chimera freshling of about six with long flowing ebony hair that almost touched the ground. Delicate features showing nothing of the man they were going to one day morph into, familiar deadly golden eyes engulfed in rage, a torn black and gold dress, and a bloody tail and fingers as they pounded on the wooden door. Yet no matter how hard this child beat upon the door it wouldn’t open. It would never open. Not until he bent to their will, not until he became the perfect child that they wanted.
“Kiri just stop. If you just promise to start behaving we’ll let you out of here. Why can’t you just behave?”
At the sound of what one would assume would be their name, the child started becoming more violent and the attempts to break down the door grew fiercer. “I am not your Kiri. I won’t ever be your Kiri… My name is Vanna. Why won’t you listen to me. I’m supposed to be your son” The child screamed.
“We don’t want a *****” whatever they said was cut off as the scene suddenly went all static. When it suddenly righted itself again it was later. The child was huddled in a corner shivering as they sat in the water.
“What a disappointment Kiri. You were supposed to be their child their oldest child and yet you disobeyed them. You were so naughty. So Naughty and lashing out. Just look at what you do for a living. How many people have you killed now Kiri. Maybe it would have been better if you stayed in that room. If you hadn’t lied.” “My name is Vanna” “but what if… what if you had just accepted we were Kiri. He would still be alive”
“No.. Stop. Don’t go there. Don’t” the pleading was weak.
The scene shifted to four years later. Vanna, Fon and Yami along with some of his other men quickly maneuvered through the house. They took down those who Vanna was sure would understand what he was here to do. Those that had supported and where completely on Feliciano’s side. Well Vanna made sure that they weren’t going to be a problem. He did make it quick and efficient as possible. Feliciano was supposed to be their father figure or their friend. He was supposed to support his men, but he hadn’t. He was supposed to protect people like Vincent and Lucille but Feliciano hadn’t he kept pushing the men and doing more and more unspeakable things. It was all his fault. He had the trust of most of the men, he had Feliciano’s trust. He could have used that. He could have prevented this. He didn’t want to do this. He wanted to talk to Feliciano, but there was no turning back. He would end up taking his father figure’s life or Feliciano would kill him.
“stop this”
Vanna shook his head clearing the words from his head. Then it was down another hallway and silencing more family members. “Stop it”
A couple more hallways and finally he was wrenching open the door. The father figure that had helped him from being a statistic, the father figure that had helped him with the academy and made him feel like he could be himself. The words between them were garbled out and staticy. However you could tell from their body language the conversation was not going well. Whatever Feliciano was saying was pissing off Vanna; he was starting to exhibit the same rage he had given into when they were trying to find the child. When Vanna fired off the gun the dream went static again only clearing to show Vanna standing over Feliciano’s body. Only Vanna was covered in blood.
“Why… why do I bother carrying for people? They just want you to be their own ideal. They just want to use you. They just betray you”
“Tch, because you are a liar who deludes himself Kiri. Don’t kid yourself you wanted to kill him. You wanted to be the boss, to make something of yourself. You’ve thrown away that heart of yours. You are sadistic and dark and you’ve killed people. You killed us Kiri. You changed yourself and killed us because we slowed you down” It was his childhood self only where the heart should have been was a hole. As his childhood self-walked towards him in that damn dress, with his long hair Vanna noticed his sibling’s body on the floor next to his adopted parents. He noticed his academy friends. Yami… Fon and Coco. He saw the crumpled bloody forms of Kingston and Eilwen. “and you are going to kill them to.”
“I am NOT KIRI. Stop it. Stop it.” Suddenly there was a figure behind him. They felt weird calming.
“I understand Vanna. You’ve been fighting so long. We won’t judge you here. We’ve been waiting for you. Give in to us Vanna. You don’t have to lie anymore; you don’t have to keep on fighting because you have to. We understand those dark impulses in your soul. We understand you Vanna and we won’t betray you. Now come on and wake up. Wake up and join us Vanna. Wake up” They whispered softly in his ear.
No there was a reason he didn’t want to wake up. It would be bad if he waked up it was why he putting himself through this dream.,,, but why was he putting himself through this dream. Surely. Surely waking up wouldn't be that bad.
“It’s not bad Vanna. Wake up. Let us support you”
Motivation: Vanna is motivation is complicated. There is the issue of will. he hates people telling him what to be and people not allowing him to be himself. however he is also struggling with his darker side that he needs to be a good mafia boss. This is also tied in with the fact he wants to be what Feliciano should have been. He cant be weak, he cant let others down. However in letting his people get bit he's also dealing with the failure. Vanna will just awaken unhinged not wanting to deal with all those pressures any more. He'd be sadistic, slightly insane and he'll attack what ever is the most fun as an outlet

Username: Magician Arcana Character: Chunli
Dream: (RP this!) Chunli opened her eyes and for the first time, she was home. The Spire mountains sheer, mineral edges glimmered in the cool sunlight. Wind sliced through the air, curling and twisting leaves from the few scraggly trees that sunk their roots into the cliffsides. Baffled, the Chimera kept looking. Carried on the wind was the sound of laughter - children and adult. Smoke curled in the air and a far distant roar left her body quivering in delight. Without thinking, her wings snapped open and she braced to jump.
Chunli!
Her name was called, softly, from behind. Turning, she realized where she was standing for the first time. She stood on a landing, a large landing, outside a gaping cavernous maw. The size! Generations upon generations of one family had to have lived there! Excitement was making every inch of her shake, smoke curling from her mouth. Not just any family.
Her family.
Without a second thought, she bolted in. Warm flickers of fire colored the smooth stone interior with dancing shadows, baking the laughter and joyful chatter into the seams. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the much more dim interior, but once she did, she could see a large gathering of Chimera of all ages.
"Hello! I'm back!" Back from where? Who cared? She was back! Chunli ran to the group, which parted and hushed immediately. Excitedly, she looked around at the shocked faces, "It's me! I'm back! I made it back home! I'm here!"
"Why are you here?" A refined-looking woman sat at the very front, with long flowing hair and a battle-scarred face. She was decked in jewels and gold. Rani. Her Rani.
"I... I returned, I--"
"You are not welcome here. You are not family." The warmth of the room left, flushed out with most of the light. Chunli was left devoid of strength and crumpled, her chest squeezing so tight after hearing the words, "We never wanted you. No one wanted you. You should not have returned."
"But, I...." Protesting was impossible, as the voices of the family poured over her like a raging waterfall. From every corner beat the abuse - worthless, unwanted, disgusting, bother, troublesome. No matter how loud she screamed, she was unheard. And then soon, she could not move.
"Remove her." The Rani said with a steely look in her eyes. No one second guessed the queen, grabbing the stone still chimera by both arms. NO! Why was this happening? How could it be happening? She was home. Her home. Her special place in the world.
They drug her to the edge of the landing, and without much ado, tossed her down. Wind rushed from all sides, and Chunli silently screamed as her body colided again and again with the sharp cliffs. Her body became broken, limbs snapping off leaving until her pieces fell to the very bottom, to the very dark.
Why am I always to be alone? Why must I always hurt?
"You don't have to, Chunli. We're here for you." A silken voice purred out from somewhere far, far away. It rolled over her like a breath of fresh air, tickling every inch of her. Slowly, Chunli came back together. Slowly, the weight of loneliness and despair fell away. "I will always be here for you Chunli. Now come. Come to us and we will be your family."
She was there. Whoever it was, she would love Chunli. Would always want her. The one who would take care of her was so nearby.
Motivation: Chunli has always struggled with being orphaned and loneliness. Fear of rejection and insecurity about why she was abandoned has come front and center. For the first time, she finds someone who not only wants her there, but will love her. As an infected, Chunli will fight until her dying breath to protect the Queen and Infected who she feels are her family.

Dream: (RP this!) The tiny Fey rolled over in her bed, batting at her alarm clock. It felt too early. That was strange, Niamh was usually a morning-Fey. Snugging her blanket up under her chin, she reached an arm out, to stroke whichever of her familiars was closest at hand. All she found was blanket. She quickly sat up. Where had they gone?
Looking around, all of her familiar supplies seemed to be gone. Her vespercat castle, their food bowls, their toys ... everything. What on earth was happening? She scrambled for her phone, wondering if Aedus was playing a trick on her. She hit the contacts button. Empty. What on earth was happening?
She checked her outgoing calls, her outgoing texts. Nothing. She checked in incoming calls, her incoming texts. Also nothing. A sense of panic settled into the pit of her stomach. Had she dreamed up her friends, her familiars?
She sat down on her bed, hard. She pulled her knees up to her chin, and felt a big tears leak down her cheeks. How had she only dreamed up all her friends? Her familiars? A sob tore are her throat. She knew the truth now. She was alone, and orphan.
Her dorm room door opened gently, and Niamh stopped crying. She felt a comforting presense. "Little one, I'll be your friend, I'll be your family." The tiny Fey stood, and walked towards the voice. It sounded like home.
Motivation: Niamh is terrified of being all alone in the world. Already an orphan, the idea of losing the connections she has worked so hard to create is devastating. She'll direct her rage against those she knew before the bite,as well as anyone she feels is getting between herself and them.

Dream: Ruby couldn't sleep because it was cold. So cold. The chill of the snow burrowed through her tattered clothing and into her bones, even as she curled up against the warmth of a dumpster, even as she held her ragged plushie to her chest and imagined it was as warm as a furnace. She wrapped her wings around herself, a makeshift blanket of feathers, and wondered when she'd start feeling warm again. It wasn't her first winter, but certainly her first without making it into a home with a kind family's living room and nestling near their fire. There was an old Demon woman who used to let Ruby in each Solstice, give her a new set of clothing, feed her a home-cooked meal. Sometimes, it made the Solstice Ruby's favorite time of year. But this year, the woman had not opened her door. Perhaps she couldn't hear anymore. Perhaps she had died, sometime throughout the year, and Ruby hadn't even known.
So she continued shivering against herself, until she was touched by a hand that was so cold itself it might have been made of ice. Except, it wasn't a hand - it was a glove. A Chimera man, bundled up in the cold, with warm brown eyes and twinkling smile, offering her his hand. She didn't even know why she took his hand, but she knew she needed somewhere to sleep tonight, and maybe he wouldn't turn her into the system.
The dream melted, shifting to a much more cheerful image. That Chimera's house, full of knickknacks and stones from all over the world, decorations for the Solstice that enraptured Ruby's little eyes. She glided through the house, trying to remember how familiar she was with it. This was her home, of course. Her family. Right?
She ventured into the kitchen, where her Father was making a dish on the stove. More than anything, she wanted to connect with him. She wanted to love him. He turned to her with a smile. His face was rotting away from the teeth, turning black, turning liquid. She screamed as he melted into the floor, piece by piece. He was never your father, the world laughed at her, as the room began to shrink in on itself. He will never be your father. Ruby squeezed into herself, curling into a ball, feeling the pressure of the walls close in on her. The heat of tears burned on her cheeks.
The warmth of smoke burned in her lungs, her throat. Her first cigarette, at thirteen. It was bummed off an adult she when lounged in the town near the Academy, wanting to be anywhere but in class. Anywhere but in this minute, this lifetime. She coughed, and a black cloud wafted from between her lips. Desperate to wash it away, she took another pull from the cigarette, but only more black smoke wafted out. It was surrounding her head, surrounding her body, numbing her, singing to her. A gentle familiar hum filled her chest. It felt like... home. Like a faraway vision of something she'd forgotten. Maybe someone. She wanted to breathe it in, to keep the feeling, but --
The black smoke drifted away, and she was standing at the bottom of a dorm building with a cigarette in her hand. Her new smoke, the normal, grey kind, crawled up the side of the ancient Academy wall, into her latest infatuations' open window. A Chimera, who looked so much like the man who was supposed to be her Father, stuck his head out with a glare.
"Ruby. How many times do I have to tell you, the smoking area is behind the building?"
She blinked slowly, a smirk pasted on her lips. Ruby had been intentionally smoking outside of Glaucus’ window every Thursday at midnight since they came back from winter break, but he seemed to have yet to catch on. “Oops, I’m sorry,” she feigned innocence, taking a long drag from the cigarette. She held the smoke for a moment, coating her lungs with tar, making Glaucus wait, before releasing. “Would you like me to move, Your Majesty?”
“I’m not a prince, Ruby.”
Oh, but he was. How she wanted to kiss those delicate prince lips of his, make his heart flutter, and then dance away with some girl into the night without him ever being able to guess what had happened and what had gone wrong. And hadn't she done just that - it wasn't like she hadn't seen him in the audience of that bar vocalist gig she'd had, his blue eyes rippling with amazement and wonder, with a hunger that would never be satiated. How they'd rippled the same way when he saw her twining her fingers fliratiously with a femme in the hall, telling him she felt nothing. But maybe she felt something. Maybe she just wanted to feel wanted, by someone.
But something stopped her in this memory. Something called her, from beyond the other buildings, something that drew her in a new direction. She hadn't been over there before, Ruby thought, as she traipsed in the direction of a friendly glow. It was a red glow, coming from the sky like a sanguine twilight, that familiar hum from earlier now a full blown symphony, calling. On the horizon, she could see a crowd of people. Perhaps they were holding hands. Join us, they sang. We'll be your home. We'll be your family. We want you.
So Ruby continued forth, into the red flood of light, and for once she felt at home.
Motivation: Ruby has always been a violent and hotheaded kid, mostly because she was abandoned as an infant and had a hard time dealing with being tossed around the system. She has an adoptive father who she never sees nor talks to, he functions more as a "sponsor" than anything else. She feels a want for a family and for love, and she has always tried to look for that in all the wrong places. She feels that if she acts for the Queen diligently, she will be finally accepted, as she believes that she can only be truly accepted by someone through hard work and dedication.

Dream: (RP this!) Everything was a haze. Ella looked at her hand, back against her mattress as she spread her fingers. Blank eyes watched sunlight pour from the window and through her fingers, spreading them further then closing as the curtain of sunlight vanished. Pushing herself up, she lowered her hand, head looking out the window.
There was only white.
No scenery, no sounds, nothing. It didn't frighten her, her numb core unmoved as she slid off the bed and approached her desk. Her pink laptop was beeping, and she moved the mouse to turn the screen on. Scrolling, she clicked her messenger, noting the beeping sound was alerting her to messages from Raa.
'You're boring.' 'What's wrong with you lately?' 'Do you even feel anything?' 'Are you even a person anymore?' 'I can't do this....' 'Bye.' - Raa has blocked you -'
Nothing.
She didn't feel the ache she knew she should, closing the laptop and turning to look at the closed door to her room.
She should feel something. She knew that.
"Because you're broken."
Ella's head snapped to the window, hoping to find the speaker. There wasn't anyone, yet she felt a suffocating presence. That wasn't true. She wasn't broken, she was just healing. The meds were fixing her, and that required shutting everything off.
"It isn't the meds. It's you."
Ella inhaled sharply as she felt a heavy weight push her down. She fell to her knees, hands clutching over her heart. It hurt. She couldn't breathe. She was drowning. Help. Someone help her!
"He's not coming for you." The voice spat, the weight on her shoulders digging deeper, pressing her body flat into the floor. "No one ever is." Her head was shoved violently against the hard ground, the weight grounding into the back of her skull. "It's your fault."
Ella gasped under the weight, a hand digging frantically at the ground. Her nails tore, throat constricting as pink eyes watered. The door to her room began to open and Ella felt the pressure lighten enough for her hand to raise, reaching for the figure that entered.
"Help..." She choked, fingers curling as the leg of the figure came almost within reach. The figure shifted, and she felt a cold, soft hand touch her face.
"I'm here."
The weight lifted, and Ella felt a rush of emotions surge through her, lifting into a relief that was on the edge of frenzy. As she raised her head, her hands reached out to the figure, eyes locking on her savior.
Home.
Motivation: Ella has begun to fear she hurts those around her, and her rage will turn on those she cared for as her infected form is determined to destroy anything of her past life to ensure she isn't hurt in return.

Username: Yushika Character: Kappa
Dream: (RP this!) The voices were louder today.
Kappa cringed under the living room table, hands covering his ears. He had to get up before Claus came home. If he saw Kappa like this, surely he'd be disgusted. He needed to get up, but with each breath the voices grew louder, hungrier. They grab to every insecurity he had, spitting them back out with a venom.
It hurt.
Kappa felt his heart tighten, teeth digging together. Make it stop. Make it stop make it stop makeitstopmakeitstopmak-
The front door opened.
His head snapped up, hands softening from their grasp. Kappa's eyes widened, mouth parting as Claus stood in the doorway, a bag of groceries falling from his hands. Claus stared at him in shock, blinking back confusion. An orange rolled from the bag towards Kappa, tapping gently against his knee. Kappa set his hands on the floor, leaning forward.
"W-welcome home." He stammered, eyes lifting as Claus approached slowly. Claus' face contorted, a sneer placed on his mouth.
Kappa felt his heart drop.
"Gross." Claus muttered, looking down at the hiding man. "The ******** you doin' down there, you freak?" Claus spat. Kappa flinched a the malicious sneer on Claus' face, reaching out to touch Claus' shoe. Claus jerked his foot away.
"Ew, don't touch me, you sicko." Claus shook his foot off, raising it to stomp on Kappa's fingers. Kappa shrieked, pressing his body against the ground as Claus ground his foot. The foot was removed and Claus returned to the fallen grocery bag, lifting it.
Kappa cradled his hand, whimpering as he shuddered under the table. He knew it. Claus was disgusted. He was mad. This was new. He had never been treated in such a way by Claus. He deserved it. This was Kappa's fault. This was his punishment.
Kappa raised his head slightly as Claus stared down at him, the hybrid's head cocked to the side. Finally, after a painful silence, Kappa dragged himself from under the table, crouching by Claus' feet.
"I-I'm s-sorry." Kappa choked out, cradling his hand tight to his chest. He didn't dare look up as the silence drew on, his tendrils sputtering as he felt Claus' gaze. Hesitantly, his head raised, a sharp breath stuck in his throat at the expression he was met with.
Utter disgust.
Kappa tore himself from Claus' feet, throwing his body out the front door and tripping onto the ground. It was raining, like the first day he met Claus. Breath short, Kappa pulled himself up as he realized he fell onto someone's feet. He moved to apologize, voice caught in his throat as his eyes met the strangers.
He didn't need to apologize to them.
In fact, he felt a warmth of comfort run through them as the stranger extended an umbrella over him, their face a soft smile.
He was safe.
Motivation: Fear. Kappa has always been afraid of the world itself, and now it manifests into a fury that will lash out to protect himself.

Dream: (RP this!) She had fallen into a deep sleep like the others had before her, a vivid dream coming to fruition for her. This was it. This was when she would turn right? No, not quite yet.
Before her stood Yihad, hum looking down at a table of plants she had been working on for the longest of time. The litch looked from the plants up toward Yihad, a smile forming on hus face ", There seems to be one other thing more beautiful in this world than the gift of life, and that is you."
Then everything went blank, flashing like a shutter almost as each frame was shown before her very eyes. First there was screaming, then the plants dying without reason, blood dripping from their dried leaves and petals. The next frames were the scariest, Yihad reaching out for her as the shadows from the table grasped onto hum and pulled hum with them, her best friend... no, the one she loved back dissolving into the shadows before her calling her name. All she could do was stand there in fear, unable to even protect the one she loved. Her body had remained frown, unable to reach out of hum at all or even call out hus name.
"Yihad!!!" her voice cried out desperately once the fear finally left and the cringing saddness took over, the hybrid falling to her knees and sobbing in the pool of red that came dripping from the brown plants toward her. She had wanted desperately to be able to hold the one she truly wanted to save, but couldn't gain the courage to do so. Finally she felt a harm hand on her shoulder, lifting her face to see the hooded figure. It is all right. You won't have to be afraid of losing hum if hu is able to join us.
As she rose up from her slumber of terror, she honestly had thought of making Yihad one of them, by biting hum and having her beloved join her in this relieving of suffering. That feeling was short lived as the cannibal in her finally did awaken, overcoming her sense of love for the hunger of flesh. And not just any flesh, her beloved's.
Motivation: Fear of losing Yihad, espeically by means she could of prevented if she herself could of been brave enough to overcome the struggles. Her fear of others and how others perceive her is nothing if she has Yihad by her side. Without hum everything goes awry.

Username: Leopleuradon Character: Eilwen
Dream: In her dream Eilwen was just a small child again, it almost felt like she was remembering something from a time she should have forgotten. Just a small little chimera, with some awkward proportions. Her parents were always attentive to her as a child, but what she thought were loving gazes at first turned into something more sinister in her dream. It wasn't long before there were others looking at her with glares. When she went out to play, when she went shopping with her mother, basically everywhere she went there were taller winged individuals looking down on her. She saw sadness, disgust, and pity everywhere she tried to look.
"Is something wrong with me?" She asked innocently up toward her parents. She as older now, old enough that she could really understand those looks. Her parents looked down at her, taller than she remembered. "We're sending you to the Academy. You'll be happy there." Sending her away? Why did she have to leave? Didn't her parents love her enough to look past all of those others? Eilwen cried and cried in front of the Academy gates as her parents slowly drove off, almost like they were mocking her.
She sat by the school gates for some time, everyone that passed her carefully avoided making eye contact with her. Some of them even bumped into her and her luggage. Where was someone that cared? Anyone? Even as Vanna stepped into her life, becoming the big brother of her dreams, something just felt wrong. There was that feeling of being watched and kept at a distance even with him.
She stood alone in a dark room now, with just one blinding light overhead that kept her from looking up. She couldn't see anything out around here. Were there even any walls? She called out in her dream, just an innocent hello. And suddenly there was thr roar of a crowd, repeating all her insecurities.
She dropped down to her knees and covered her ears with her hands. Wasn't there some place she could call home? Somewhere she wouldn't feel like a total outcast? It wasn't her fault she was like this! All she wanted was a home....
"I'm here for you." Normally if someone were to sneak up on her she would jump. But the second she heard that voice and felt that reassuring hand on her shoulder she felt at peace. All the noise faded out around her and at least she felt at peace.
Motivation: Isolation. Eilwen has always feared being left out, particularly by her fellow Chimera due to her lack of functional wings.
