It was a lovely day. The sun was shining and warm, and the breeze was light and only a little cool. It actually felt quite nice when balanced against the warmth of the sun. Grass was growing, trees had buds, birds were flying in and staking claim for nesting spots and trilling their songs. It was the perfect day to be outside, which was exactly what Vincent was doing. As soon as he got home from classes he'd raced upstairs, put away his bags, then made himself a snack in the kitchen. There were some cookies he and Giselle made last night, some grapes, and a packet of cheesy crackers. He loaded everything in a collapsible lunch box, settled the strap over his shoulder, then he was down the stairs and right back out the door. Giselle, at her work table with the door to the shop open in case a customer came in, just smiled and waved as he ran past her. Vincent ran around quite a bit and had a nice little adventure, hiking through the little stretches of trees that separated the park from homes and businesses and running around through the park itself. Eventually he felt the need for a rest and had flopped down on a comfy patch of grass in the sunlight. He opened his bag and ate a couple grapes, nibbled on a small piece of cheese, and was able to reach for a cookie when he found himself dozing from a combination of all his running around and the soothing warmth of the sun. Before he knew it he was gently dozing, sprawled on his back with one hand still reaching towards his lunch box while the other was curled up near his face. Both legs were outstretched and from time to time the gentle breeze would ruffle his fur, keeping him at a very pleasant temperature indeed.

After school, with both daddies away until at least close to dinner time and a babysitter who was a bit more set on talking on the phone, Popple found herself in the want and need to get into something... anything! She was done with her homework, trying to bug her twinnie, but to no avail. She had been pushing her sister to get her class work down, after all. And, of course, the two youngest were napping because they were tired after a busy day at school. How dull! Well that settled it. There was only one thing to do, even if she had to do it herself! Sneak out to the park. Usually it's something she'd do with her sister, but this time -- and for the first time -- the little grimmlin was flying solo on this mission! Beady little orange eyes watched those about the messy house as she formulated her escape. Soon enough, the babysitter -- who was bound to be fired like the rest -- was off in a different room and still chatting away. With a grin, Popple made a mad dash for the back door and was gone just as fast!
"Mmmmm... Freedom!" she exclaimed when she was certain she was out of earshot of her house. The girl hadn't gotten used to much around the new neighborhood, but she did know her way to and from school, as well as the nearest corner store and park! All the things a kid her age needed to know. With arms stretched out, she took in a deep breath and then let it out slowly. Though, when she got closer to the park, there was an unfamiliar pile of color resting near her favorite spot! How dare it! Not that she truly had a favorite place in the park, but if she had to pick one right then, it would have been right where that weird lump was!
With a huff she stalked up to where it was, grabbing up a stick from the ground on her way to poke it away, but that's when she noticed something curious... wonderfully curious. There was a bag. A bag, no doubt, that was full of goodies. Oh yes... this could be really great for her. With a wicked little grin, Popple inched closer to the bag, ready to scoop it from its unconscious owner... but that's when she noticed something else. Fluff. leg fluff. Her eyes would have turned a shade of green had they the power to do such a thing. She suffered from terrible fluff envy and couldn't help being drawn to it. Crouching down near the legs of the unsuspecting one, she began to pat at it, giggling with excitement. And soon the little pats turned to slight tuggings to see if she might be able to steal some of it... Oh dear.jinxgirl5 Sorry if it's long winded!... she just went with it all XD

Vincent had been having an interesting dream. He was wandering around the world of Above, which he knew only through the descriptions of his adoptive mother. The world probably wasn't a very accurate depiction since it was largely based off his own imaginings, but it was still interesting regardless. He was just strolling through a garden full of the most fantastical kinds of flowers, which seemed to have a life of their own. They would reach out and poke as his legs as he went by, pulling at his fur in a very gentle manner. Suddenly there was a tugging sensation. He looked down to see some of the plants had actually wrapped around his legs, and were pulling at his fur. They gave a particularly hard tug, making him topple down onto his back. Starting to feel just a bit panicked at the whole situation, Vincent quickly sat up.... ....and saw a mass of bright pink, black, and a small riot of colors. He blinked wildly, his brain trying to catch up with reality; the bright colors were on level enough with his face that, for a second, he thought they might have been the flowers. After a couple seconds the black and colors resolved into black hair and colorful bangs. Not flowers. Good. A few more blinks, and the pink turned into skin and clothes. Finally he was able to comprehend another kid in front of him. Vincent frowned a little, rubbing his eyes and giving the base of his horns a scratch to rid himself of the last remnants of sleep. "Uumm, hi," he said, not really knowing what one said to a kid who magically appeared next to you when you woke from a strange dream. Were they lost? "You....looking for someone?" itsie bitsie spider XD No worries! It was an amusing read that gave insight the the character.

It was true that the grimmlin had her own leg fluff, but that didn't stop her little fingers from playing with the fur belonging to the baphomet, or wanting to steal it to make herself her own tail puff. An idea she had become quite fond of in recent days. Though, as she hovered over her victim, she failed to realize that she was most likely pulling just a bit harder than intended. Then again, what else is one supposed to do when trying to remove something such as fluff from another outside of pulling hard?
The moment the other freshling popped up like a zombie from those movies she wasn't supposed to watch, Popple actually screamed and peeled back as far from them as she could, as fast as her little arms and legs could take her across the grass -- until the poor thing ended up tumbling back over a tree root or something of the like. Really, there didn't end up being a great distance between the two of them. Maybe a couple feet at most.
Just the fact that the other kid was so calm about everything gave Popple a moment of realization. One, being that they certainly were not a zombie. Two, being that maybe she should start carrying scissors with her when she's out for trying to steal fluff from others with instead of pulling it off. When the other freshling seemed pretty oblivious to what she had been up to, she cooled her jets and just went with the 'you didn't see anything' approach of things. "Me? Naw. You were all making crazy noises and stuff in your sleep so I checked on you!" Lies! "And looked like you might have needed help." False! "Good thing I came around. I think there was a kid trying to steal your lunch box while you were snoozing!" Wow. Yes... this was Popple and she was not ashamed of herself one bit!

"Oh," was all Vincent could think to say. He didn't realize he'd been thrashing around or making any kind of noise. He didn't think he'd ever done anything like that before, but then again he wasn't typically prone to nightmares in the first place. He'd probably been very distracting to anyone trying to enjoy themselves on such a nice day. He did wonder why no one else thought to check on him, but maybe he'd only just started making noise or something. Well, it was nice of the stranger to make sure he was okay. Vincent stretched his arms over his head, then gave his legs a good stretch as well, feeling a bit stiff from his nap. As he glanced over towards his lunch box he didn't see anything out of place. He also didn't see anyone else nearby except him and the other kid. Well, he supposed if he were a thief he'd scramble pretty fast if he'd been about to get caught. "Thanks," he finally said, sure that this other kid had been nothing other but amazingly helpful towards a stranger. He nabbed the bag of cookies out of the bag, opened it, and selected one. "My name's Vincent. Would you like a cookie, as thanks for helping me? I don't mind sharing." He grabbed too many, actually; he certainly didn't need four whole cookies all to himself! itsie bitsie spider XD It's fine! I was cackling pretty much the entire post. Popple's deceptions have succeeded!
