 Arabelle hummed softly to herself. It looked like this was going to be harder than she'd initially thought. Since there was so much action going on around the campus, any groups of slimes that might have been inclined to calm groups were running around trying to avoid the mayhem. She was one of the few people moving at any kind of slow pace. Well, her body wasn't really made to run hither and yon, though she wasn't as out of shape as she looked. She did try to pause any time a slime came her way, hoping to catch on that way, but they all went around. Curses.

Beatrix seethed as she watched the slimes hopping and squeaking in front of her. Augh! Just when she thought she had the little music stealing varmints, they found a way to get away from her! She couldn't give up, though, an entire month's pay had gone into that music player! She wasn't going to let them get away with it!

Okay, so it looked like her plan wasn't going to work. At least not until things started winding down on the grounds. So what should she do? If she couldn't find any still, calm groups to approach, maybe she should make herself still and calm and see if any slimes would come up to her that way? Worth a shot. She found a relatively quiet spot in the Academy building itself, in a little nook that looked like it was supposed to be a waiting area. She settled herself down in one of the chairs, ignoring the occasional person running by the nook, and waited.

Arabelle sat quietly, waiting. She was the only thing quiet, it seemed. There was the constant sound of running feet, grunts of frustration and amused giggles, even some voices calling out. She was also interested to hear that the slimes made sounds of their own, and was listening to all the various noises. Sometimes slimes would swerve into her nook, but they clearly had no interest in her and frequently bounced away again as soon as they saw her. Maybe the nook wasn't secluded enough? Certainly there was still quite a bit of noise and activity going on right next to her. She got up, hoping to find a better spot.

Arabelle wandered through the Academy, taking note of the building structure while she tried to find a quieter spot. Slimes and people continued to run past her, like they were a river and she was just a particular big rock. Finally after a bit of wandering she found an acceptable area. She probably wasn't supposed to be back here, since it looked like a section of offices for staff, but since no one had taken her to task and she certainly didn't plan to snoop, she saw no reason to move on. Unfortunately there was no seating, so she had to settle down on the floor and begin her wait anew.

Well, Beatrix couldn't say she was unhappy with how her chase ended. She'd gotten her earbuds and music player back, albeit covered in slime, which were both completely functional... Just not in the way she thought she would.
"You're a sweet little thing, aren't you?" She cooed, glancing down to the teal slime now seated at her desk. "I saw you swipe my music player back from those bigger slimes just so you could give it back to me. I guess I have to repay the favor now by taking you home now, right?"
The slime made a silly noise and wobbled backward clumsily, before bouncing back into balance with a smile. Beatrix laughed. To think she'd wanted to hurt these things when they were so innocent! Hopefully this one stayed well behaved...

Arabelle had settle down and was waiting. She could still hear distance sounds, but it seemed like this area wasn't nearly as populated. She didn't see a whole lot of slimes either, but she continued to wait patiently. Her patience was rewarded. After she'd been sitting long enough for her butt to start feeling stiff and cold, a group of slimes came bouncing around the corner. They stopped when they saw Arabelle, but appeared more curious than anything. One particular slime seemed especially bold, and came right up to Arabelle's outstretched hand to examine her. She was curious to see if they would enjoy petting like a normal creature might. Apparently they did. The slime all but melted into a puddle, then happily oozed into her lap. The other slimes clamored around her, wanting pets also. In the end Arabelle left the Academy quite messy. She also left with a new pet, the first slime to approach her who seemed to have gotten particularly attached.
