 Quilo kept looking around, his eyes going over the crowd, until he saw a familiar face. Ella! In....whoa.
See, everything about Ella looked the same--her face, at least? But she was wearing a dress, a stunning dress, that was so beautiful he couldn't--he wished he was better dressed. But he wasn't. Oh no. Oh no... oh, Nine... He took a deep breath and emerged from the crowd to tap Ella on the wrist. "Hey!" he squeaked breathlessly. Oops. He cleared his throat and tried again. "Hey, Ella! I love your dress, it...it looks really good on you." Ack, why had he said that? It sounded...tacky. Like he was complimenting her on her body. Which was probably better than his, since he was kind of a slouch and she was an athlete, but no, not the point, you never complimented a person's body unless you were in a relationship, and not the point...
"Um..." He had to say something! Something at all! "I, um, I'm glad to see you! I was afraid you wouldn't come..." Oh, why had he said that?! Stupid Quilo!
Someone was running amok handing out stuffed animals, and they shoved a stuffed duck into Quilo's arms. "Can't go solo!" they cackled.
Quilo glared after them, then looked at the duck. Yellow--he loved the color yellow. Should he keep it, though, or give it away? He was so confused...It had been a long time since he had last kept a stuffed animal for himself... "So, um, what do you want to do? There's games, and there's also dancing..."

 The plan was simple. They had discussed it last night, and now they were ready to execute it.
The plan hinged on the fact that their zither worked at the school, so she knew at least vaguely what would be going into the various events. Their mother knew if there would be books, so there was that as well. In general, the two were pretty well prepared to know what would be at this Spring Ball fair. And so they had hatched a plan.
Mom was going to be at a writer's workshop, but Par was going to be at the fair tending a booth. So the two of them could at least get to the fair, and have a safe place to stash their belongings. They would mostly be left to their own devices, too, which made things easier. Mostly.
"Fena, I'm counting on you to keep an eye on your little brother," Shera had said this morning.
Fena had nodded. "I can take care of him, Par. Don't you worry." Little did she realize that had been the plan all along...
See, Fena and his little brother Frankie didn't always agree on everything. One thing they did agree on, however, was that neither of them had enough plushies. So their goal here today was to get more plushies. There would be six plushies available at the fair, and neither of them wanted duplicates of each other. So Fena would get the pink one, the orange one, and the blue one (there had been a fight over the purple one, and Fena had just conceded--it wasn't worth it), while Frankie would get the green one, the yellow one, and the purple one. Pretty simple!
Fena held on tightly to his little brother's hand as they wandered out into the crowd. "Let's go here," he said. He pulled Frankie along to a bottle toss game, where he picked up a ball and threw. He managed to knock down all of the bottles. With a smile, he picked out the pink alicorn plush and looked over to see what his brother was doing. Frankie was pretty sure that the plan had been his all along, but he wasn't going to discount the idea that it might have been Fena's. Fena wasn't good at making plans--they were more Frankie's wheelhouse--but Frankie would do almost anything his big brother asked of him. His brother was smart, and calm, and hardly ever got into trouble--Frankie wished he himself could be like that. It would definitely make life easier, right?
So, onto the plushies. This booth had just alicorns at it, which was fine by Frankie--it would give them one down, two more to go. If they played their balls right, they wouldn't have to go to more than one booth. Frankie grinned and stepped up next to his brother. Frankie's toss skimmed the top bottles off, but failed to knock over the entire stack. His reward was just some candy floss. He glowered at the candy, then looked over at Fena. There was a look on Fena's face. Frankie sighed and looked over to the game keeper. "Thank you. May I try again?"
The game keeper nodded. "Of course!"

"Aren't you a pretty little thing!" Flax crooned at the Skyfish, untangling the little creature from his girlfriend's hair. He laughed as it began to nibble at the hem of his shoulder instead. Flax had tried his best to dress up for tonight. His family wasn't the most wealthy, but they were able to wire him some money to rent a tuxedo for tonight. It was maybe one size too big for the growing junior, but he really hoped it was the thought that counted. In his maroon eyes, Laurel looked as beautiful as ever, with her bouncing curls pulled up into an updo too complicated for him to even think about.
He observed the rest of the prom, and was a bit daunted by how many people were around. Classmates and strangers alike, even freshlings were allowed to run around in this event! Flax felt his face flush a little as he thought about his trip to the bookstore, and how he hadn't been able to get having kids and a family with Laurel out of his head. He hadn't yet told her that he'd settled on the idea of becoming an illustrator, nor had he told her of his extreme want for children. He gazed at her, while she marveled at their surroundings, and wondered if she felt the same way. He also wondered if maybe they were still too young to even have that conversation.
"Let's go see what kind of games they have," the Nixie suggested, as he had already thought about how this whole night would go: Ravish girlfriend in prizes and plushies, slow-dance with her on the floor, take a break for refreshments, maybe kiss a little in a back corner. It wasn't as solidly put-together as many of his other plans, but he felt good about the general ideas he had in his head.

While Raleka told herself she was bringing Annie to this dance for well social-rounding, she knew in her heart it was really because she loved getting the free plushies from these events. She looked on her last visit to one of these fondly, when she had hung out with those two other university students, Morggin and Renge. She wondered if she might run into either of them here tonight, or if she'd spend most of the time staking out the room by herself. Annie had friends at the Academy, after all, and he'd likely go running off at first chance.
Right on cue, the little voice squeaked, Bye, Mom! Come on, Mavis, let's go! and he scurried off with his little Flitterat. She quirked up a smile on her lips, calling after him, "Be safe, honey!" She trusted that Annie could find his way around here safely, and they had already set up a meeting place for the end of the night. The events room wasn't that big, anyway, and they were bound to run into each other at least once more over the course of the evening. Like a hound, Raleka began to sniff out her first opportunity to collect a plush.

Annie was already overexcited by the sights and smells reaching his senses when they walked in the room, and he nearly vibrated right out of his mom's hand. She had been very careful with him, plotting where to meet afterwards and everything, but Annie was mostly excited to interact with his classmates  outside of a classroom setting. He was especially excited to show off Mavis, his light green flitterat nestled in his left hand, because he'd never been able to bring the familiar to school.
In the distance, he saw a group of three kids who he'd had in a few of his classes, and he wanted to go their way. "Bye, mom! Come on Mavis, let's go!" he said, toddling off. On his way to the kids, he found a plush just the same shade of green as his familiar sitting, abandoned, on the floor. "Look at this, Mavis! It's just like you!" he said, scooping up the plush in his arms. Finally he reached his classmates, a little out of breath but overall very happy to see them.
"Hi, guys!" he beamed with excitement.

 Their attempts to take Sara with them to the Spring Ball fair had failed. This wasn't to say that Deni and Niol had wanted to go as a couple or a triad or something--they weren't in a relationship with their sister, she was just, y'know, their sister--it was that they had wanted to go as a family. They had hardly seen anything of Sara since she started attending Academy. One of the advantages of Academy was supposed to have been that they would get to spend more time with Sara, and now she still wasn't spending time with them. "Ah don't get it," Deni sighed. "We useta do everythin' together back home--especially when there was a fair in tahn. And now she's tellin' us to go away, 'cause she's busy doin' something. What gives?"
Niol snorted. "She's probably just annoyed that we trahd hammerin' on her door to wake her up. She'll be dahn for the party when she has some breakfast and stops sulkin'."
Sometimes Niol had a frightening amount of sense. Deni sighed and pulled his twin along with him into the fair. "So what should we do first?"
Niol stretched. "You know mah vote."
Deni chuckled. He did, actually. They wandered through the fair until they found a guess-the-number booth. Each of them picked up a card and began to write. Sara was probably just going to go to Prom with one of her boos, but it would have been nice if she'd explicitly said that. Especially since it was already spring, and they'd barely met Maria or Neptune since arriving here in the fall. Kind of rude, wasn't it? To not introduce the people you were in love with to your own family? But there wasn't a lot they could say to Sara without annoying her, and he, at least, knew that part of Sara's tension was the, er, racial identity of Maria. The rest of the family would not be happy to learn they might be related to a Chimera someday.
So he voted that they give her space. She knew where they would be--if she wanted to join them, then she could join them. It would be entirely up to her.
Niol liked to start with the guessing game--he felt that it gave his brain some exercise and got it started in the morning. He looked over the guessing range, shrugged, and picked up a piece of card to write his guess.
The game keeper looked over their answers. "You got it closer," he said, pointing to Deni. "That gives you a plushie. Don't worry, though," he said to Niol, who was looking a little crestfallen. "Everyone's a winner here!" With that, he offered Niol a choice of smaller prizes. He picked out a daisy bracelet as his brother picked out a stuffed alicorn. "Thank yah!" Niol said with a grin. "It was a lot of fun!"

 "That sounds great," Laurel enthused. She laughed to see the problematic skyfish following them, still curiously nibbling here and there while mostly just circling. She raised a hand to point. "I think it took a liking to us." She wondered if it would stick with them through the whole night. They finally made their way over to the game booths situated along the walls. There were a couple tables of refreshments set out between a few of the little booths, and Laurel made note of the delicious looking drinks. They would definitely have to try some later tonight! The booth nearest them appeared to be some kind of card game. Laurel wandered over for a closer look, and the booth attendant smiled, inviting them to play the game. It was pretty simple. The cards were set up in five rows of five. The pictures represented the prizes the booth attendant had to give away. You had five chances to flip the cards, and if you got two matching cards you won that prize. If three or more cards matched you could choose whatever prize you wanted. The booth attendant showed them some of the card, looking quite proud of them. Apparently they were an artist and had colored them all theirself. It sounded fun! "I'll give it a try," Laurel said, then reached over and flipped a card. Purple unicorn plushie. Card two was candyfloss. Card three was a green unicorn plushie. Card four was a pretty ring. Card five was a green unicorn plushie. Laurel almost jumped up and down from excitement! It was a simple game, but she'd been holding her breath until the end! She accepted her plushie, hugging it close while the booth attendant shuffled the cards and laid them out again. "Do you want to give it a try," Laurel asked Flax. Junior Prom Regent Points: 33

 [senior]Kyra's points: 13Kyra wondered about the ball as she gazed at a few games and began to try her hands at a few of them, she tried ring toss, fish bowl games, small contest and even a few eating contest. she was becoming a bit full from the food she had eaten as she tried her hands at one more contest, this one was a pun pun contest, she grinned slightly in amusement as she signed up. a few rounds went by as she got a few laughs but nothing to major a few dad puns and a few normal puns she made off of other nightmares or daydreams she had a bit of a giggle her self as she was given a consolation prize, a cute little plushie. this was too adorable not to keep to her self.
  [only here for games]He was excited that he would get to make a bracelet again as he began to work hard he had been practicing all day to make the perfect bracelet Azriel shouted with excitement but shyly covered his mouth as he had finally finished one of five gifts he wanted to give to his friends and family. he quickly took the blue daisy bracelet and ran over to see Niamh, he called to her with a joyful expression. " H...here I made you this!" he said as he giggled softly" consider it a friendship bracelet from me to you!" he said as he offered it to her " I.. if you don't like the color ill try and make you another just in case." He said having thought about it before hand. [senior]Zinnia's points:: 30zinnia had been entering in contest and games left and right, even though she playing games on her own she was still having lots of fun, she managed to find a flower arrangement contest. she went over and entered in preparing a display of purple roses white tiger lilly and babies breath. a elegant display in the middle of spring. but she began to think on it, maybe the white tiger lillys over powered the baby's breath so she exchanged the purple roses for blue and the white tiger lillys for vibrant orange ones . adding in a bit of timed leaves and a weaved basket from the left over stems of roses she put it up for display. she ended up winning an equally beautiful display of roses black and multi colored roses, she was in awe over there beauty as she quickly rushed back to her dorm to get them in water.  [not entering]Azure was overly confident he had been having a lucky streak in winning or getting things, he was able to get him self a matching ring to go with the one he had won earlier. he was able to sing his heart out in to winning a blue and pink ring once more, after he did so he went to explore unsure if he wanted to stay, but he thought of just sticking around for a while longer so he could win a few friends some things, even if he didn't like sweets he had a few friends that did.

Current interactions: Annie (group)     Quartz was saved from the awkward moment the approach of a classmate. She straightened, still holding the flowers. As she readjusted her grip, she realized there was a pretty bracelet tying the flowers together. Someone must have worked hard to make a nice bouquet and hadn't counted on a fluffbug and aetherjelly deciding it would make a nice home. She smiled at Annie and he approached. He wasn't in Arkham, but she still saw him around in several classes. Florence, ever the social little tree moth, waved. "Hey Annie," he called out, wiggling around to a better position. "Look at the fluffbug I found! Poor thing was hiding in some flowers and got tossed."Vincent, still standing with Quartz, grinning. "It was hilarious," he remarked. "There was an aetherjelly with the flowers as well." He pointed to the bouquet Quartz held. "Must be some really good smelling flowers." At that moment a harried-looking senior walked past, mumbling something. He spotted the group and walked over. "Here kid," he said, shoving a plushie towards Vincent, then hurried off still looking very distracted. "Huh," Vincent said, staring off after the senior for a moment before looking down at the plushie. It was rather cute. "Wonder what that was about.  Kara grinned as the two of them waited in a line for a little while. It was good to talk to her friend again. Kara pointed at the cute little plushies that were at this booth. "The Kirin plushies are so cute!" She knew she had to have one, even if it was rumored that Kirin weren't too keen on Demons. She hoped that could be in the past and that maybe she'd even befriend one someday.  Niamh began to move more into the festivities, when she saw a table covered in pretty plushies. She ran over and claimed a purple seal plush. She turned aroud, when heard Azriel's voice. She blinked, surprised, and then beamed at him, giving him a BIG hug. "Oh that was super sweet of you, Azzy! I love it!" She slipped it on her wrist, immediately. "Thank you!" Kame wandered around the hall, examing the displays and the tables, occasionally reaching up to give his new companion a gentle pet. He noticed a purple and black ring in a display, and haggled for it, then slid it on... He felt it went quite well with his asthetic, after all! Delilah looked around, thinking she saw a flash of familiar pink... And grinned when she turned to the right. Ahah! She had seen who she thought. "Ch... CHESSY!"  Kiessi managed to find a booth that was selling cotton candy! They waited there patiently as the vendor made it right in front of them! It was always neat to watch. They handed the guy a couple coins and nibbled on it. Mmmm... it was so sweet and it tasted like strawberries!Kiessi Points: 12 May 1st: 8 May 2nd: 4   Pandora was a bit surprised when she received a really cute daisy bracelet from a random person.  Samara was already starting to feel the first twinges of boredom. She hadn't really had anyone come up to talk to her, and all the people she'd considered talking to were apparently here with other people. She'd managed to swipe an unattended plushie while the booth guy was focused on the people playing the game, so that was a win she supposed. Still, there were only so many plushies or trinkets to be had that actually interested her. She was hoping more for interaction. She scooched along the edge of the walls where there weren't booths or tables set up, to better eye the crowds. That's when she noticed there were a lot of people doing the same, and she doubted they were all looking to score some free stuff. Was this where all the people without dates or gaggles of friends hung out? With no end in sight to her boredom, Samara's eyes lit on an Elf with dark skin and white hair. The streaks of color looked cool, as did the drink they held. She approached, affecting a casually friendly air. "Hi! Did you come alone too," she asked, figuring she'd first better get that question answered. It would be irritating if she put in work to socialize and it turned out the Elf was just waiting for a friend and ditched her as soon as they showed up. Assuming they even wanted to socialize with her in the first place. All the rumors about Elves painted them as pretty cranky, though that just sounded like easy teasing targets to Samara.  Nasaiki Noticed Horus standing off on his own and figured I'd poke him. If he's meeting up with someone or you just don't want him to socialize feel free to have him shoot Samara down XD

 Thurayya began to explore, her eyes filled with bright curiosity. She was fascinated by the beautiful displays, and all the games.... and of COURSE the amazing dancing!
