Aedus was distracted thinking more about where they should go next hunting around in the darkness than he was about looking for the source of a strange sound. It didn't sound like the freshling so it was of little use to him in that moment. He looked around to make sure he could still see Niamh and Kappa. They were what mattered besides finding this kid. If they couldn't find the kid hopefully one of the other groups would. Aedus didn't want to face Niamh knowing they had all failed, he knew with a blunt certainty that it would break her heart if they couldn't find the freshling.
Suddenly Liam stiffened slightly, pausing his movements. Was that a sound he heard? He strained his hearing to its limit, trying to make sure he wasn't jumping at nothing. No, that was definitely a sound. It was a light rushing, rustling sort of noise. His blood suddenly felt like it had turned to ice in his veins, the memory of the sounds outside the school pushing to the fore of his mind. The two sounds were pretty similar, though he wasn't sure if they were the same. Still, he didn't want to go near that sound at all. What could one Naga, one Kumiho, and one hybrid do against the kind of force that had taken out an entire safe building? Liam tried to think of a good illusion spell in case they needed one, unconsciously backing away from the sound.
It was probably a moot point but Vanna would feel better if the place was secure. After all just because it was open didn't mean that any one had come through said window yet. It would cause them a bit of a time but maybe it would return a sort of security back to them and he would definitely know that no one would enter through it now. With a sigh he stepped back from the now boarded up window and ran a hand through his hair.
"Its fine Coco. It was just a window that is now boarded off." Vanna replied after remembering the sound which had unnerved his junior demon companion and caused him to investigate.
Maybe it was Liam's seeming unease. Maybe it was their nerves being generally up. Whatever it was, they jumped with a start at the low whistling noise they heard. "What was that?" It seemed like a prudent idea to put the two older boys between her and whatever that was... while trying to play it cool.

"I don't think they're here. We should move on," Astra said. Chickening out? Nah, totally just looking out for her two searchmates.
Eilwen noticed the odd sound the second the entered the dorms. Like wind blowing through somewhere. But that would mean a window or door was open to the outside. Now the question was did something come in or was someone careless in boarding up the school? She kept her cool and investigated the sound, staying with Vanna and his magic. She could breathe fire, it was something all Chimera could do. She had never really practiced it all that much before though.
"You...don't think anything got in do you? Before it got boarded up?" She felt a little better with it boarded up, but she really wished it hadn't been left open to begin with.
As they explored, a sense of dread crept up Chunli's back. If this kept happening, she was certanly going to go gray from the stress. A swift breeze tickled her arms, and while the urge to run away screaming was very high, the Chimera knew it was only going to make things worse.
Stay calm. Stay level headed. You can do this
"It's coming from over there." Thanks to the quiet and the general still in the halls, it was easy enough to find the culprit - a single open window, wind fluttering the curtains hanging around it. A tired chuckle escaped her as she started to board up the window once more, "Guess we missed one."

Eilwen decided to creak open one of the first dorm rooms. It wasn't locked, which was probably a good thing honestly. It meant a child could have gotten in there as well. She stood back until the door had finally opened and hit the wall behind it. Then she slowly went into the room afterwords. She spoke quietly into the room.
"Is anyone in here? We're here to help." She looked around quickly. Maybe they could find something to keep them all safe. She looked under the beds as well, just in case the child was hiding in there. When it looked like he wasn't she exited.
Ashi was working when the group when he heard a clattering noise. Howl's suggestion that there could be someone in the building looking to do them harm was ever present but he wasn't about to turn tail and run either because that would leave him alone. When he heard the noise though he froze and looked around. "H-hey does anyone else hear that?" He asked. The room seemed darker then it had...
Howl swiveled her ears toward the sound as Ashi pointed it out. She couldn't figure out what it was... It sounded like it could be the clattering of glass... But it sounded strange. She looked at Kuni and Gaius. "I can stay here with Ashi if you two want to check it out. If I hear any screaming I'll come to the rescue." She joked hoping that it wouldn't upset either of the two. She felt the need to lighten the mood some.

"I agree," Liam said, already backing up a little. He felt strangely reluctant to turn his back on the darkness, though he was very conscious of Astra and keeping himself between her and whatever potential dangers could be lurking ahead. It could be nothing more than nerves on both their part, but he didn't want to risk it.
"We've been through most of the rooms here. If the kid was around we'd have found them, or they'd have at least heard us." He glanced at Astra out of the corner of his eye. "Are there any stairs nearby we can take, or will we have to backtrack to the set we came up in the first place?"
Finally caught up! Sorry for leaving ya hanging. I didn't quote you on all the other posts since they're a lot of monologue. The sum is just Liam worrying and being a bit on edge from the worry, but telling Astra that he's fine. Then he hears the noise and gets a bit nervy again. Liam's always kind of suspicious nervy, like PTSD, even a bit before this event XD

There was a strange noise. Kingston's ears perked up and he listened. What was that? It was kind of a familiar noise... He walked towards it, glad that Vanna and Eilwen were also curious about it, but understood Coco's desire to not investigate. AH! A window was left open? That wasn't good!
"No wonder we got all the windows boarded up so fast! We forgot one..." That really wasn't good. But together with Eilwen and Vanna, they were able to board up the window pretty well. It took a little time though. But it was worth it, he was sure. One less way for things to get in...
Searching was really tiring, but it was for the sake of finding the poor kid who was trapped somewhere in the building. Probably scared witless too. Humming to herself, Chunli checked another dark corner, her wings flapping as they stretched out. It was nice to get out of the cramped safe house. Hopefully it was just a hoax and nothing bad would come of it.
Kuni paused at the sound of a voice down the corridor. Slowly, he turned to face it. There was no one there. And yet, he heard the voice. It was all wrong for a child--all wrong! There was no way he was going down that corridor.
Kuni turned to Howl. He was beginning to really dislike the Grimm. She was always so cool and confident, even while she riled everyone up--look at poor Ashi, he was shaking like a leaf! "I'll stay vis Ashi," Kuni said in a mild voice, as though nothing was wrong and he wasn't angry with anyone at all. "You can go check it out if you're curious, Howl. It's probably just ze vind, zo. Nussing to vorry about."

Illya jumped at the sound of a voice coming from further down the corridor. She shuddered. Intellectually, she knew it was probably just wind, but it sounded like a voice, saying something inarticulately.
Illya's wings fluffed out. She was a soldier, damnit, not a lily! She was not afraid of a window!
