Hiroshi took a deep breath when he heard the reply. He hadn't had the chance to ask what had exactly happened there, but he also wasn't sure if it was a good question to ask, either. A lot of people who came from the other places were really shaken up, but he couldn't help his curiosity. "What... happened there?" The words slightly choked from his mouth.
Glancing around, Hiroshi shook his head. "I'm not sure. I think that we've come close to doubling our numbers here since taking in the survivors. So quite a few, I think. Though I don't have definite numbers." He hoped that other people were doing better than the people in the safe houses had, but he had no way of telling for sure.

Liam glanced over at Hiroshi. The rattle on his tail vibrated slightly, a soft sound akin to pushing through tall grass. "Honestly? I didn't see much." He glanced around again, but it seemed like they were being ignored for the most part. Just in case he lowered his voice a little further and leaned a bit closer so Hiroshi could still hear him. The spectrefox followed his movements, still sitting with its fuzzy body pressed against his tail. "It was pretty crowded. We were all confined to the auditorium, except for some staff. There were a few sounds coming from outside, but it didn't seem unnatural. I was kind of off to the side and thinking about taking a nap, cause I'd been there for a bit and there wasn't really much to do." Liam paused, looking hesitant, then glanced around again. He especially didn't want young children around to hear this. "There was suddenly banging at the door, and screaming. I guess a teacher had left the auditorium. Then it just stopped. Then a loud bang on the doors. And suddenly they were practically thrown off their hinges." Liam shook his head. "I didn't really see them. I lifted myself as high as I could go, but that's only slightly taller than most of the average heights and there were a lot of people between me and the doors. I just saw a lot of dark shapes in the doorway." He shuddered, and his rattle softly sounded out again. "I heard it though. The screaming. And other sounds. Someone shouted to run, and then it was a stampede. Whatever had gotten in, it was running along with us, attacking. I was so focused on just not getting trampled that I still didn't see much, but I could hear and smell just fine. People getting attacked." As Liam talked his face grew a bit paler. The spectrefox pushed closer to him, and he took visible comfort in petting its soft fur. "I actually got a hit off on one. It had jumped a Bakeneko. I caught it by surprise. Bit it," he opened his mouth slightly and tapped lightly against an exposed fang, "then got a solid hit on it with my tail. I didn't stick around to get a closer look though, I just grabbed the Bakeneko and kept going." Liam shook his head a little. "I left her with the medical staff when we got here. I don't know if she's going to make it or not. If she does she'll probably have some wicked scars on her face. It was just...pure chaos. Like whatever they were they were trying to cause as much damage in as little time. I saw a lot of people who got marked by them, but they managed to escape."

Hiroshi mulled over the words, taking them in slowly. He had hoped it wasn't anything too serious, but what Liam told him disturbed him greatly. He frowned but was glad that Liam was trying to spare the children. Hiroshi did what he could to help make sure the conversation was muffled. "Usually I would have been at Leviathan myself, I go to school there, but I had decided to check out the Trick or Treating at the Academy... I... I can't believe all of this is happening. It's so horrifying. I hope the Bakeneko will be okay. I'm glad there was someone there to save them." He gave a brief smile, though pained. He wanted to think that he would be the kind of person to help others in a situation like that, but you never knew for sure until you were there. Liam was a real hero and he may have even saved the Neko's life.

Eilwen was glad he hadn't mentioned seeing anything creepy while he was working on getting the windows barred. He might have, but at least he didn;t mention anything. That helped to calm her down a bit. Hopefully if anything even made it in, they wouldn't find the bunker. Ava had said it was secret, so no one had any reason to go looking for it.
"It went well. I managed to bring a whole library book tray full of stuff down here with me. I'd say we're good for at least...well. A while." She hated the thought of being down here for that long, but hopefully everything would work out and they'd all escape this with their lives. At least she had Vanna here to help her stay sane as well. Without some family with her she probably would have just curled up in a ball somewhere and cried.
"How's school going for you?" Eilwen was trying to find anything to talk about, to keep her mind away from what was going on above them all.

Liam's lips twitched a little, but he didn't say what he was thinking. Depending on how bad that injury was, the Bakeneko might not thank him for saving her at all. Horrible as it might have been to think about, the last damage from severe injuries could be a curse to live with. He resolutely turned his mind away from those darker paths. The situation was bad enough, he didn't need to add morbidity to the mix as well. "I wonder what we're gonna do next," he said, still absentmindedly stroking the spectrefox's head. "If the safehouses are failing we have to do something." He looked around a little nervously. "I'm not used to lairing up, to be honest. It makes me nervous."

Hiroshi frowned when he saw the look on Liam's face. He recognized that look, it was a look that a lot of people, including his parents, had given him. Some people didn't realize that just because you were different or had a disability that that didn't mean life was over. Of course, Hiroshi knew he couldn't convince anyone of that unless they knew what it was like to live like that. Granted, he had little knowledge of living with a disability, though everyone looked at him like he was a freak for most of his life and he was treated as less than for most of it because of that.
"You just have to have faith that they'll be alright." Hiroshi tried to put his best face forward. He knew that not many others had the positive outlook that he did, but he tried his best to always make sure people felt better with him around than without. Life was too complicated to be looking at the bad side of it.
Hiroshi wanted to offer something positive to the statement, but having lived in the village as long as he did with no contact to the outside, he was kind of used to it. Of course, he had been allowed to frequently go outside and do things on his own, so this was more than a little stifling. He couldn't imagine how hard it was for others who had lived in the wide world for most of their lives or even for a few years compared to his couple of months. "All we can do is help it make sure we're as fortified as possible, I don't like the situation either, though."

Liam ran his free hand through his hair, trying to disperse some of his agitation. Not at Hiroshi, but at the situation they were in. "It's not just being underground, though that's part of it," he said, then amended, "Well, part of it for me personally. I'm sure some any Imps in the crowd would disagree with me." He paused for a moment, trying to articulate the feeling being in the bunker gave him. "It's like being a hunted rabbit. We're in the warren, just waiting to see if the hunter gives up or smokes us out, and who knows if we're trapped in here or if there's a bolt hole somewhere around." It would actually make Liam feel a bit more comfortable if there was a second entrance to this place somewhere. As it was, if something did break in they would be trapped. Unless, or even if, the defenses here were really good, it would be something of a slaughter. He'd already been through that kind of run once, he could live without doing so again. Especially because there were so many more children at this location than there had been at Leviathan...

Raven was alone again, which was how he preferred it. He had enjoyed the Chimera's company, but it's better in circumstances like these to only have to worry about yourself. He lazily watched people scurrying around him in varying states of disarray. What interested him most, however, was the survivors that had come in from the other safehouses. He was tempted to go ask one what had happened, but it was fairly obvious from their wounds. Bite marks, scratches and a number of other injuries were present among the crowds. Raven leaned against a while and watched them curiously. Hopefully the attackers hadn't been diseased or something, although it still seemed like it would have been safest to quarantine those who had their skin broken. Dwelling on the thought for a moment, Raven made a point not to go near the injured ones if he could avoid it.

Honey stumbled through the Academy as best they could, but their wounds had begun to ooze. Smiling weakly at Francine, they nodded and leaned against a wall, clutching at their side. "Barely got nicked, personally," Honey lied with a grin, "and right you are, these scars will be mighty impressive. You ain't seriously hindered or nothin' though, are ya?" Honey looked around, surprised at the lack of attention the two injured people were receiving. They noticed a lot of people avoided their eyes, however. "Thought we would have been swarmed by now," they murmured quietly, mostly to themself. "On the plus side, no interrogation or quarantine. Although... bit weird that, don't you think?" Honey commented, directing the question to Francine. They were relieved, of course, but if Honey had been in charge there definitely would have been a separation of the wounded. They mused that the familiars seemed to be occupying almost everyone, so perhaps the two of them had been momentarily forgotten.

Hiroshi let out a breath that he hadn't realized had been locked in his lungs. He was starting to realize the more he talked about it that he was more stressed than he first thought. He hoped that he wasn't offending or stressing out the Naga. He hated upsetting people. "I'm sure stress has different triggers for everyone." He tried to offer though he knew his statements were very contrived. He was probably doing very little to help the mood at all.
When Liam made the analogy, he couldn't help but feel that the other man had hit it completely on the nail. He had put to words what Hiroshi was feeling much better than he could have. "I hope they've given that some thought... because you're right, a lot of things could go terribly wrong rather quickly..." He made his voice quiet, making sure the rest of the group couldn't hear him. He had tried his best to be positive and didn't want the others to hear him giving fear any sort of foothold.

Coco let out a breath as she looked at Kingston and then said "I'm ok, it's just scary you know, before we didn't really know what was going on now survivors made it here from the other places that were supposed to be safe.. How are we ever going to be able to go home??" Then Coco turned to Eilwen and smiled softly it was sweet of her to change the subject from something so scary, Coco didn't want to bring up the bites being like a zombie bit. That was sure to cause a panic if she did bring it up. "I have all my credits for junior year, I'm just waiting for my senior class application to be approved, then I'll start taking senior classes, what about you?"
