Going to Helpx x x
"EEK!" Flitterrats. It was flitterrats. Chunli was more than a little embarassed by the very cowardly squeak that came out, but could anyone blame her? She wasn't expecting a deluge of flitterrats to come pouring through the door like that.
Settling back against a wall, she caught her breath and calmed down. Thankfully, she was in earshot to hear the group converse... A child was lost. Now that was a lot more serious. There were always quite a few volunteers, but Chunli joined them.

Staying Behindx x x
Lawven heard the door creak, fear racing through her veins. There were a few yelps in surprise, but not the explosion of fear that was expected. What came through the door was actually... A swarm of flitter rats? Seeing them like that made Lawven giggle. Big old adults scared over mice! Ha!
Feeling better, she wiped her eyes and looked around for someone her own age.

Going to Help
Adalyn jumped when the door opened to a flurry of frightened familiars. A smile curved her lips, but didn't touch her eyes. There was still a good chance that those others were out there. She stayed leaning on the wall, splitting her attention between the injured and the door.
A small commotion drew her eyes, and she took a few steps closer, wanting to know what was going on. Some of the teachers and other authority figures were scouring the bunker, looking for a missing child. She felt her throat tighten, as they began to form a scouting party.
"I'll help look."
A child could not be allowed to be alone out there.

staying back
Raven watched the flitterat cloud explode into the room, snickering at all the people who jumped. But naturally, of course, people were still about to go outside. He hadn't heard the two adults conversing, but the whispers he heard through the air implied a child was missing. He snorted at the volunteers ready to risk their lives just for one stupid kid. 'If a kid is foolish enough to get themselves killed, that's natural selection at work.' He thought nastily, although even Raven felt a pang of guilt for thinking such a thing. With a sigh he leaned against the wall, staring at the ceiling. Who was going to live through this, he wondered. The heroes who who go off on some dumb adventure, or the self-serving bastards who kept themselves cornered in a bunker. 'Still... certain death out there or probably death in here? I'll take probable.' He thought bitterly.

going to help (( if allowed ))
"Wassis? Flitrats?" Honey slurred, stroking a little flitterat as it flew by in a tizzy. They had been close enough to the door to hear the conversation between the teachers and, unfortunately, they weren't in the right state of mind to consider keeping their voice down. "There a kid missin', miss? Les go then... gotta find 'em," they proclaimed, although there was a distinct grunt at the end of the sentence as they fell to their knee, clutching their neck. "Hng, might pay those buggers back while I'm at it," they snarled under their breath as they staggered to their feet once more.
(( feel free to interact with honey ! ))

Staying behind Arabelle was surprised as everyone else when the flood of flitterrats poured in. She couldn't help feeling a bit of relief, though the undercurrent of anxiety was still there. As she sat leaning against a wall and focusing on controlled breathing, she heard mutterings through the crowd of a missing child. She glanced at the door, and sure enough saw a party forming. Probably to search. For a moment she debated getting up to help. A nasty throb from her shoulder decided her. Despite the medicine she'd taken she wasn't feeling any better. She didn't know if she could move around very well, and might just end up being a burden to the searchers. Not to mention she didn't know the school layout at all. No, better to just stay here and out of the way.

Helping the search partyThe sudden swarm of Flitterats wasn't exactly on top of the list Tomorrow would've guessed as the cause of the noise, but luckily the critters seemed to calm down around people rather fast. One had even decided to take residence under the hybrid's hat, which elicited a small, faintly amused huff from the otherwise expressionless lady.
There was still clear unrest among the authority in the room - apparently one of the freshlings had somehow slipped away from the head caretaker. If it was dangerous outside for adults, it would definitely be even more so for a child, and it was always better to not let anybody search alone. Tomorrow remained close to the group that was to set out to retrieve the missing child.Quote: Feel free to talk to her! She's not gonna bite.

Going to help!
Ruby felt awfully silly, along with everyone else, that the perceived threat outside the door was just flitterats. She felt their familiar tails wind around their ankles as they, too, searched for refuge from whatever was happening outside. This can't be good, she thought to herself, as everyone around seemed to kind of chuckle in relief. And then a child was missing. The Fallen's fists clenched more tightly around her bat, and her mind raced through the possibilities. Perhaps they had gotten lost in the fair, and they didn't notice everyone was gone until it was too late.
Other students were lining up to offer their hands in assistance, and Ruby couldn't help but sidle up, too. "I'd also like to help find the freshling," she said gravely, nodding her head at Anabelle. The head caretaker had done so much for Ruby since she'd come to the school, and every other student here, ensuring they were watched over and safe. It was time to return that debt.

Going to help the search partyHiroshi made a face at the junior. He wasn't all that great at being in a place of authority, even if he was a lot older than the girl. However, in a situation like this, he also wanted nothing more than to protect everyone he could, even if that was a bit altruistic. He gave a look to Liam, hoping that he was better with dealing with stubborn teenagers than he was.
As Mink reached the door and opened it, the dozens of flitterrats made Hiroshi jump at first, but then he quickly calmed down. When he realized that was all that was going to happen, he sighed a breath of relief, more than ready to go back to his seat on the chair. However, he completely stopped when he heard that a child was missing. His heart filled with dread, nothing would stop him from at least trying to look for the kid. This was a bad time, and children were the most precious.
He nodded a quick agreement with Liam when he spoke to the girl this time, glad that it didn't have to be him. He followed suit, going toward the group to help look for the kid. Hopefully, they could find them rather quickly and nothing bad had happened.

Staying BackWhen Mounia saw all the flitterrats swarm through the door she almost laughed. She glanced down at her own flitterrat with an accusatory girl. "Ahhhh... so that's why you didn't want me to go? You didn't want a new friend, huh?" The flitterrat let out a squeak and hid in her clothing as if embarrassed about being found out.
Mounia was usually the type to immediately go looking for danger, but as she noticed how big the crowd was getting, she decided that perhaps she should stay here. If everyone who was big and brave went with the group then who would be here to protect everyone else should something go wrong? It wasn't that she didn't want to find the child, of course, she did, but it looked as though the group was already big enough and who knew what could happen to everyone else?Quote: Mounia is free for interaction!

Helping Howl smiled at Gaius. "Oh he'll be just fine!" She nudged Ashi forward as she followed behind Gais and Kuni. She tilted her head some her ears twitching as the creatures fluttered into the room. The grimm pondered why they would be coming here all of a sudden. It was clear everyone was on edge. But then she realized what had happened a child went missing.
"I wonder if the Flitterats were a distraction to get the child out... We have to help." She looked at her 3 companions agreeing with Gaius.
Ashi jumped when the Flitterats came flooding in. His heart was pounding and he gripped onto Howls arm. "Y-you all want to go out there?" He stared wide eyes at Gaius and Kuni. There was a child lost out there. Thinking of how scared he was... A child would be 100% worse. "Well... if it gets me out of this stuffed bunker... I guess I'm in." He couldn't believe the words that came out of his month. Maybe his claustrophobia was a good driving factor. And he certainly didn't want to be in this bunker. "I think being in here might be worse." He frowned.

Enomu looked up at the dryad almost pityingly, settled at least temporarily by the evidence that the noise had just been familiars. "They're going to die." He stated, and rubbed his eyes with an arm. "They're going to eat all of us." This was delivered with a sniff, and then he turned toward the makeshift hiding place. Maybe he would just stay there. Oh, but wait!
He looked around for a place to put Shiroi, and then walked away a bit to set the white stuffed toy down. His decoy that would fool the demons coming to eat them. Satisfied he had now done everything, he turned back to the hiding spot. Now he would just have to hope the demons were fooled and took the toy instead of Enomu. Kuroi would hopefully finish that defense. He hoped he remembered it right, because the gods certainly didn't protect people like him.Helping A child had gotten out, gotten lost? This was going to end badly for everyone and Helja found herself sighing heavily. If they stayed put, then they might survive, but if they left, then everyone looking for the idiot child was under threat of attack. She almost thought about staying right where she was. After all, the freshling had made their choice. Except that obviously well meaning bleeding hearts were going to go after them. They'd need someone rational like Helja with them or who knew what heroics they might get up to?
"Alright, let's find this br--child." She said, stepping forward. It wasn't her damn problem, and even as she was offering her aid she was having second thoughts. People who were going to go out there were probably going to die if they didn't find the child quickly, and that included her. Well, they were probably all doomed anyway. There was actually a slightly better chance of survival out there than stuck in that room with people who had been bitten and were obviously getting sick. Was she the only one around them who watched horror films?Alamoraine Sorry you picked possibly the most messed up freshling in here. razz

The quiet and matter-of-fact way the freshling stated what he thought gave Chervil more pause. It was as though he had spoken his last thought aloud; that while the noise turned out to be just rats, there was still the threat of what had caused them to flee en masse to their very door. Clearly this young one had reached the conclusion ahead of his peers, and to his credit seemed to have come more to terms with it. Still, he hated to see the obvious fear in his eyes and hear the sniffle. He crouched down until he was as close to eye level as he could, Fio holding onto his shoulder with his claws as he dipped down. "We know there's something out there that wants to hurt us all, but we can either let that frighten us to where we just wait for it to come, or we can make ourselves ready and let it know that we intend to survive in spite of it. If it let's you think it has won, then it's half won already. Help me prove them wrong." Ebonrune Pshaw; I like him; he's interesting. wink

While the group was gone Ava began helping hand out food and water before she was approached by a teacher. Head cocking to the side, she leaned in as they began whispering to her. Her tail lashed, an apologetic hand raising as she dismissed herself from the group and wandered back towards one of the corners of the room, where the school head nurse was.
The two exchanged words for some time before Ava turned to look back at the group.
"Will those who were injured by the hostile group come forth?"
Those who were injured who were not already tended to were slowly gathered together so that Yuki could begin tending their wounds.
What to do:
If your character was injured in their escape from the safehouses/university, please step forward. Quote Nightmare Ava when you have posted. If your character was not injured and did not opt to assist Annabelle, you may continue to do what you were doing before.

Arabelle was still leaning against the wall, sitting on the ground and focusing on keeping her breathes steady and even. Even though the pain from her left shoulder left her feeling like she wanted to take in ragged gasps. She held Éloi in her left hand, gently stroking him with her right. It gave her something else to focus on to keep her mind off how truly miserable she was feeling. She almost didn't hear the summons from the headmistress. It took a moments for the words, and then their meaning, to penetrate through the fog in her brain. Slow Arabelle stood up, transfering Éloi over to her right hand so she didn't have to worry about dropping him accidentally. The blanket given to her by the Chimera draped precariously on her shoulders like a cape, but it felt like too much effort to try to pull it closer. She made her way back towards the nurse station with slow, somewhat uneven steps.
