"Smart. About the Naiad or Nixie." She smiled, and pushed open the corridor door. There was the distant sound of water, from further down the hall. Clearly her companion was correct about what they could potentially find here.

"I'll do the left hand side, if you handle the right?" Adalyn walked up to the first door and gently pushed it open, pausing to listen before stepping in. Nothing.

"I'm fine," Liam finally replied. It probably didn't help his case that his voice was somewhere in the range of a harsh whisper. He took a moment to get a hold of himself. It wasn't that he was scared, nothing like that. Well, not entirely that. He was just worried. It was his experience that quiet rarely was quiet, that things used the quiet to hide behind before they struck out of nowhere. It was pretty much the reason for his solitary nature and largely pessimistic attitude. Astra probably didn't realize that his nerves didn't mean he was also flighty. He hadn't really had a ton of practice keeping his own attitude in check, after years of keeping to himself.

"Huh?" Chunli had been searching a larger desk, some place that a child might hide themselves in if they were afraid and tiny, "Y-yeah. You're right I..." Taking a deep breath, the Chimera stood from their hunched position and stretched their wings. Talking about herself was something Chunli didn't particularly enjoy, but the stress of the situation was starting to erode some of the self-confidence and barriers that kept her safe.

"This room is clear, we should get going." There were plenty of classrooms, and so the next logical step was to go to the one right across the way. It was a larger one, with many cubbies and closets. Childrens paintings hung on the wall, unsettling giving their cheerful nature stood in stark contrast to the gloom of the situation.

Searching again, the Chimera slowly worked herself up to speaking, "When the announcement first came on, I thought... I thought it was a hoax. I thought it was just an annoying prank." Getting on her hands and knees, she peeked below the tables and chairs, "But even now I... I wonder what is going on? Is it really true? Sure, there are people with bite wounds, but does..."

Crawling back out from under the tables, Chunli sat on her knees and scratched her cheek, "Does that mean it was something this dangerous?"

Where did that child get to? Despite the group's best efforts, no one can seem to locate them. As the night wears on it almost seems as if the dark shadows cast by the moon grow deeper- infinitely black where you were once sure you could see at least faint outlines of doors or objects... A sound up ahead draws attention- a whispering voice? Some breeze through a window that wasn't secured? You can't be sure from this distance, but it didn't sound like a child.

Roll one 10-sided die. If you roll an odd number, your character investigates the sound and discovers that in the rush of trying to get everyone to safety, a window was left unsecured. Your character loses some time fixing it (with their group if they're traveling with others), but they regain some sense of security. You lose 2 points.

If you roll an even number, your character hightails it out of there. The window is left unsecured, though they have no idea that it was just a window. You lose 8 points.

Scary sound

Coco heard a strange sound, she frowned and shivered feeling a chill go up her spine. She didn't like wandering around in the darkness she didn't feel very brave anymore. Even though she was with Kingston, Vanna and Eilwen. Perhaps it was because the darkness was closing in on her. Making it harder and harder to see any of them. Let alone seeing a freshling she didn't know. Coco sighed she couldn't give up now, no one deserved to be left all alone perhaps lose and terrified. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even think to go look for the source of the sound.

"Well you are in an environment mostly where you can focus on what you love and what you want to do when you meet the wide open world. Take your time and enjoy your last years at the academy" Vanna commented wistfully. The cat in his palm curled up into a ball and made purring like noises and emitting a tiny bit of light to the surroundings. It made the gold Vanna wore and his own markings sparkle a bit.

"Doesn't surprise me" Vanna said with a smile."I remember when I first showed you that trick, we were at an awkward moment and you got all excited and wanted to see more, and I was all worried because I had been burning through my magic reserves early that day"

However when they entered the freshling dorms, he admitted he was a bit startled at the sound and he morphed the cat into something a lot more combat ready. Stepping into the room, he realized it was just an open unsecure window.. which worried him? if it had been open all this time had something come through it? Dissipating the fire he walked over grabbing a bucket of wood and nails that was sitting conveniently in the hallway. It was best to secure this window.
