As Arabelle drifted a bit closer to the group she was able to pick up on a bit of the chatter. Seemed like this was a group of service familiars, here to help anyone who was in need of the comfort. Curious, Arabelle moved a bit closer and tried to get a look at the familiars.

The kitten leaned forward to sniff delicately at Mushroom's nose. The fennekit was just as eagerly sniffing the kitten, his tail now wagging furiously against Kuni's chest, and a persistent whining starting up from his throat. Kuni felt embarrassed, but he seemed to have lost his voice. He didn't know how to tell Mushroom to calm down.

As she spoke to Jericho, she scratched the spectrefox's head. They shifted slightly--was it just her, or was it moving its head towards her fingers?

Not spotting anyone else right away, Kingston moved closer to the clock secret entrance so none of the caregivers would give him a hard time.

Chervil found himself ushered along with the others into the academy, where they were immediately set upon by people who provided comfort and more than basic first aid to those unfortunate enough to be bitten. His mind still reeled from what he had just seen; even in his most frightening scenarios of a world gone mad, he had never imagined something like this.

He looked around as he passed through the clock and into the bunker, and his eyes widened in wonder, his fear momentarily forgotten. For whatever disaster had been perceived, the academy was obviously much more prepared for it than his own university. He wasn't sure if he should consider leaving the college and teaching here where it seemed like the idea of emergency survival was actually taken seriously, or whether or not this was yet more proof that he should remain exactly where he was.

He heard some of the others who had escaped with him being questioned as to what they had seen, and he found himself realizing that he would much rather do something else besides being questioned; for once since this entire thing started, he wanted answers to give people, not more speculation. He found himself scanning the crowd then, looking around for the few students he had spoken to before things had gone to Hell. It would be harder now that there were more faces to scan, but it would make him feel better knowing they were safe as well.

He suddenly noticed a circle of people talking and petting various familiars that seemed to have been brought out for comforting purposes. Yes, this academy was most admirably prepared! Allowing himself a small smile, he moved in to listen, his fingers even straying down in spite of himself to scratch lightly behind one of the vespercat's ears.

There was a fennekit, with a grey body and grey and green streaked tail. It's fluffiness easily rivaled that of the vespercat, and it seemed to be quite perky.

Then there was a flitterrat. It was a pretty purple, with speckled markings in a lighter purple. Arabelle felt a little pang at seeing it. She had a flitterrat of her own at home.
