 Eques had come in his normal attire, glowing brightly against the shadows as he crept along the edges, moving closer to where the music was coming from. Unfortunately, due to his inability to really look around in his surroundings, he found himself bumping into another person, hands slowly raising up as he backed away.
"I am sorry, I didn't see you there. Are you okay?" The vaguely monotone hybrid looked over the other, sighing in relief. Luckily he wasn't holding anything! He didn't want to spill something on anyone here!

 Leah had come because she had been promised there would be hotties. She had seriously been taking a hit after her dearest brother decided he was out of the hooking up game, leaving her miserable as she stared at their previous tally-counts. There was no more competitions, which meant any conquest she had would go without applause. The neko had, for the longest time, sulked in her home, stirring to get food and go to classes when she had to. However, the prom had been mentioned and up the neko went, determined to find herself anything to distract herself from the loss of a great game. There were people from her school there, and others, which meant time to play!
So, on went her dress, hair was let down, and out Leah went. When she arrived she had immediately glanced about before heading off to grab a drink, distracted by the sound of a voice. Hrrm?
She wasn't disappointed when she turned around, ears flicking up and a warm purr escaping her throat as she gave a sly grin. Oh, what a cutie~! And that pick up line was just adorable, fingers interlacing together in-front of her, leaning closer towards him.
"It seems you have~ Luckily, it seems you're the first to get here, so this flower's attention is all yours~"

 Addie had come to drop Lapis off, but had stalled when he spotted Willow, rushing over to do the annoying uncle routine before letting his nephew wiggle free. Then, drinks had distracted him, and, finally, the music had caused him to pause. He was a distractible young man, and this prom wasn't doing him any favors.
So, when he spotted a familiar run by he couldn't help but gaze at it as he walked, immediately regretting it as he bumped into a rather striking fey. Yelping, his tail flicked as he raised his hands to help the fey if they stumbled.
"Oh no! I'm so sorry! Are you okay? Did I hurt you? Oh no, oh my, I apologize!"

 Cheshire was booooOOOOORED. He had come alone simply to play pranks without hearing anyone nag, and sadly he couldn't seem to shake the eyes of teachers. Sure, he was known for causing trouble, but couldn't they watch those nasty juniors? All they were doing were kissing and flirting; ew! He was just a lonesome kitten, meandering by the punch bowl. Which, by the way, looked very enticing.
He was crouched by the table, snickering with a hand covering his mouth as he began planting legos on the floor by the table, tail flicking idly behind him. Oh boy, this was going to be the best prank yet!

 Leddi had come with her brother, but it wasn't long before he had taken his eyes away and Leddi had managed to get herself lost. Of course. Her brother was terrible at being a big brother! And he wondered why Leddi got so irritated with him! They very young freshling had meandered far into the crowd, hands tapping together and head snapping side to side, observing the room with ears flicked back and eyes wet. She couldn't find an exit, or her brother, and the panic began to surface, tears falling from large, innocent eyes as she stopped moving, falling to her knees and covering her face. She was lost! Everyone was so big and preoccupied, no one was going to notice a little kid like herself!
She sniffled, about to break into full scream-crying when a wet nose tapped against her cheek, a tongue flicking out to lap at her tears. Squeaking, she snapped her head back to spot a worried kidden, taking all of five seconds before letting out a sad whine, arms wrapping around the kidden's neck.
Well.... at least she wasn't alone!

 Freya hadn't been much of a fan of big events, but she came solely because she wanted to try and be more social, like her parents. So, she wiggled into the dance, squirming past anyone who came too close and, eventually, finding herself very lost. The sea of people caused the room to feel so tiny, and the already small freshling felt almost obsolete. She stood in the middle of the room, hands held to her chest and tendrils flickering as she just stood there, quietly waiting for something to change. Something to occur. Maybe someone would notice her and make a path. Maybe, eventually, the dance would end. Better, she might see one of her siblings...
Yet, nothing changed. The room kept dancing and chattering away and Freya stood there, increasingly feeling more and more tense. Eventually, she spotted a plushie being tossed to the ground, bending down to grab it and clutch it nervously to her chest, feeling slightly safer at least.
How many hours were left?

 "Why don't we go get a snack?" Kara offered, ready to take a small break from all the games. She couldn't help but eye the crowd carefully, there were so many people trying to get dates at this festival. She even remembered her family pushing her to go so she could find a good boyfriend.  Kiessi found themself going toward the music, watching the many dancers who were taking to to floor. A small part of them was kind of jealous. They had never found anyone who had interest in them, and in fact had few friends despite their rosy demeanor. Oh well, it wasn't something they'd completely dwell on, maybe they'd find someone someday. For now they wanted to enjoy the music.  Brynn had come to the ball as fashionably late as she possibly could without missing nearly everything. She felt her normal clothing was acceptable for a ballrooom setting, so she had worn that. The first thing she did when she came in the door was accept a bouquet of flowers from someone she assumed was a festival worker. The flowers were black and purple, so not too entirely far off her typical color scheme. She thought they were alright.
She was just surveying her surroundings, wondering if she should weave on the dance floor or try her luck at a few games, when another hybrid bumped right into her! The girl stumbled, but his hands caught her. She looked him up and down, before smiling shyly. "I'm fine, thank you." Brynn reached into her bouquet and pulled out a black rose, offering it to him. "Thanks for catching me," she said. The hybrid giggled flightily. "What's your name?"

Jeanette had picked up some strawberries and candies from the candy bar, and was presently stuffing her face when she noticed a freshling a bit way, looking very nervous and upset. She was about to amble over to make sure everything was ok when a Kidden came up to comfort her! The tiny bakeneko giggled, glad that she could find a friend, but decided to walk over to her anyway just to make sure.
"Hi," she said, smiling nicely. She held out her plate of sweets, grinning a toothy grin. "I'm Jeanette. Want some?"

 “Until I swallowed it, not really. It has kind of a tangy taste that you get when something’s been enchanted, probably to keep from anyone noticing it until you had already practically swallowed it. Most likely a prank by a senior,” Horus mused slipping the ring on his pinky. Ah well the ring matched his hair and if he had to suffer through almost swallowing it he would just add it to his jewelry collection. It wasn’t that he liked shorter names. Horus, while being the name on his birth certificate was the extremely formal version of his name. He went by Horus while he had been up in Above but down here he was trying to distance himself away from that version of himself so he had tried to adapt to Heru. However that was a bunch of boring history that he didn’t need to shuffle on any one. “ Well then I guess its nice to meet you Samara.” There his manners would be appeased. He did however raise an eyebrow at the eye tricks almost wanting to say that he owned a slime, and they had huge a** eyes and thus he was mostly immune to pleading big eyes. Then again it wasn’t dancing, she had bothered to come over and talk to an elf. Sure his current hairstyle and dress put him out of the norm but before Samara had come over he was doing his typical elf ‘tis better than you don’t come over’ expression. He can’t believe he was about to say this… him being social? “uh….” He paused and sighed. “Yeah okay lets go find a game booth.” will get this next post or the post after

 Why wouldn’t these people just move? Adding a little bit more force to his pushing he finally managed to maneuver through the crowd, coming to stop in front of the freshling. He rested his hands on his upper thighs to catch his breath. Jeez older kids where like rocks when they didn’t want to move, but he made it here. Now he just needed to speak so that the geist, wait no she didn’t have any leg tendrils so that meant that she had to be a hybrid right, although he couldn’t see any other race. Shaking his head, alto focused back on the task at hand which was speaking so that he didn't look like a weirdo. Then again he had just maneuvered his way through a room to... no... alto focus. “Sorry for the sudden appearance but I noticed you look a little lost.” And overwhelmed but Alto had at least a bit of manners. “Is there anything I can do to help?”  Suijin sighed and walked through the various booths and people dancing still nothing seemed to grab his attention, although he did grab a candyfloss from someone that seemed to be in charge of passing them out. As he munched on them he found himself drifting over to the punch table. So he was in a prime position to watch others wondering by. People watching could be interesting and it was weird to see everyone all lovey dovey. They also seemed to really like the punch as he moved farther and farther away from the table as people kept walking over. However it was then something caught his attention. Sujin raised an eyebrow at the bakeneko freshling. Weren’t they worried that the teachers or caretakers would catch them? They had to be setting up a prank and Suijin did admit it was a good place for one. There was just one question that ran through his mind. “Why go with legos though?” he asked out loud drawing attention to himself. "Hurry though, it looks like the teacher is going to turn around soon."

 Liam had been considering lifting himself up a bit taller. He could, at maximum, reach 6', but he couldn't pull it off for long before it started getting uncomfortable. It would have helped to make him easier to spot though, since his usual, comfortable level varied between 4' and 4' 6", and only served to make him blend in with the crowds of students that occasionally shuffled past him on their way inside. Just as he was about to lift himself though, he spotted Echo approaching. He took a moment to take in her apparel. It was a pretty dress, and the look suited her, though he honestly had no clue how girls kept that things up without any straps holding them in place. He took a moment to mentally take stock of his own appearance. His hair was in its customary style. He wore a button up shirt, tie, and [ dress vest]. Formal wear which he found to be a bit confining, but they were the nicest tops he owed. Liam gave Echo a slight smile once she reached him, though the internal mantra was still running in the background of his thoughts to keep him calm. "Not really. I haven't been here too long." About 15 minutes spent waiting, actually, but he was habitually early and there were plenty of people to watch and mental introspection to be had, so the time had gone by quickly. He offered Echo the blue sealpup. "I got this for you," he said, feeling incredibly awkward as he did so. At the time it had seemed like a nice, thoughtful gesture, but now it just felt so...date-y. Maybe he was just being paranoid. He was a bit out of his element right now...

 "Sounds good to me," Laurel agreed, panting a little and fanning her face with her hand. While neither of them were what you'd call dancers, they were both plenty enthusiastic and could keep up with a beat just fine. Right when one song stopped, just as you vowed to bow out and take a break, another one would come on and the beat would be just so infectious that they had to dance to it as well. Add to that all the bodies around them, and the room was quite warm indeed! They wound their way through the crowds and off the dance floor, back to the refreshment tables. Laurel grabbed a glass of punch, this one a pretty orange, color, and took a big sip. She handed the glass over to Flax so he could have a drink as well. It tasted like orange and a couple other citrus fruits, but was sweeter than the lemonade. "That feels much better," Laurel said, still red-faced from all the dancing but smiling quite happily.
