Personality: Rowan is a very studious Nixie who takes things seriously. They're very focused on their education and improving, and take any sort of failure extremely hard. Their social skills aren't really the best; they don't feel like they have time to hang out for no reason or engage in silly, meaningless pursuits. They don't mince words, so they can come off as a bit harsh or mean. They aren't quite cynical; it's more like they just don't have patience and seem to build a wall around themselves that not only is hard to break through, but there doesn't seem to be any positives waiting on the other side. And to be fair, there are probably only certain types of people that would see the positives of befriending someone like Rowan. Some types they will likely never get along with, not that that bothers them.
Rowan isn't all that bad though. For one thing, if you're struggling with a problem there's probably no one better to ask. They greatly prefer being asked for help with problems of an academic bend, but they'll take a shot at personal problems too. Rowan's lack of patience with social nonsense is more than compensated for with the patience it takes to achieve a goal. They're not going to do your work for you so don't even try that, but if you do legitimately need the help they will do everything they can think of. They are quite blunt and don't mince words, which can earn more than a few bad feelings, but any praise or compliments Rowan gives are sincere and well-earned. They're the token buzzkill-but-responsible friend; they might not be who you call to go clubbing, but they're definitely who you'd want to take you home if you've had one too many. And while they might never admit it, they like having people around who make them feel responsible, even need those people, to an extent.
Short term: Graduate Academy at the top of their class! Long term: Go to University! Rowan isn't sure what they want to major in just yet; they might end up double or triple majoring. They have entertained the idea of becoming a librarian one day.
Rowan currently lives in the Enoch dorms at the Academy. It's a small room, meant to hold one or two people who don't mind sharing space, specifically Nixies or Naiads.
Rowan spends most of their time in the room. They're either at their desk studying or hydrating in the tub. They've taken up most available surfaces for their plants and supplies for salve making, though most of the salves they use are on the small shelf in the bathroom. Rowan sticks mostly to their corner of the room and has a bookshelf and a small table with bins underneath it. While they wouldn't necessarily object to a roommate they'd probably try to acquire a privacy screen to isolate their side of the room to keep from being disturbed.
Oh man... Rowan doesn't exactly dislike Lynx or anything, but he just can't relate to him at all. He's sure Lynx is probably a nice person, but he just doesn't have the patience for that kind of energy.
Familiars:
Annoying ♂ Cockatriel | Rowan never really wanted a familiar; Annoying decided on all his own that Rowan was his. The Nixie's first mistake was leaving their window open to let a nice breeze in. Their second mistake was throwing food out the window to shut Annoying and a couple other cockatriels up when they got into a friendly debate. What started out as staking claim on a source of free food turned into Annoying's favorite entertainment. He thinks it's hilarious to irritate Rowan. He can't even be shut out, since the last time Rowan tried he sat outside and made an awful racket. Thankfully for Rowan's sanity Annoying spends most of his time flitting around outside and only bothers the Nixie from time to time. He can say several words, though the first word he ever learned was his own name. He assumes it's his name anyway, cause it's what Rowan keeps calling him.
Weird ♀ Coatl | Weird is...weird. In a sweet way? She's got some eccentric behavior and is very much an individual who does her thing, and sometimes the things she does don't make much sense. She can be quite affectionate though. Rowan is simultaneously creeped out by her and reluctantly affectionate of her.
Monster ☿ Grimm Slime | Rowan only accidentally caught Monster. He was just hoping for some peace and quiet to study and to bring about some order, but instead Monster got attached and he got saddled with another familiar. Monster has a lot of energy and gets bored quickly. If Rowan doesn't try to keep the slime entertained, then they end up getting into his stuff and making a horrible mess. They don't seem to take any of Rowan's scoldings seriously either...
Pest ♀ Cockatriel | Pest is the most persistent of Rowan's familiars, to the point of even following him around inside of buildings. Thankfully she seems to be less vocal than most cockatriels, only screeching when she can't get to Rowan or when someone is upsetting Rowan. She can actually be very sweet and likes to groom Rowan's hair, though she is possessed of a wicked bite which she used to display her displeasure. On the rare occasions Pest isn't bothering Rowan, she's usually out flying with Annoying.
Strange ☿ Pet Rock | Rowan found Strange under a bench. The weird thing is they could swear there wasn't a bright green rock there before... They keep Strange with their various potted plants as a kind of quirky decoration. The weird thing is, Strange seems to end up in different pots all the time... Rowan is pretty sure one of their other familiars is moving it, but in general tries not to think about it.
Busybody ☿ Baphomet Slime | Busybody found Rowan at a Hunter's Jubilee festival by literally dropping down on top of the Nixie's head. They were following one of their friends, who decided to investigate one of Rowan's friends, and didn't want to miss out on the fun of interacting with the people! Busybody is very inquisitive about new things and always wants to investigate, but they also really like people and will usually stick close to someone. Rowan and Giotto are their current favorites, though they aren't shy about saying hello to others!

Romance:
Rowan is a bit oblivious to most things romantic, so it might be difficult to initiate anything. I do have a couple ideas in mind, none of which are anything coherent enough to share. They'll have to start out trying to be friends first anyway (or at least on speaking terms), so if you have any ideas just toss them at me and we'll work with them if we can! They're a character that's developing as they go.

Pansexual, shows no leanings towards any gender in particular.
Racial requirements?
None. They might be more open to another Nixie or a Naiad, just because they do plan to return to their home once they've completed their education (though they might not) and it would be easier. Honestly, if they fall in love with a non-aquatic race they will figure something out, so race doesn't particularly matter.

Too young to tell right now, but might be possible.
Friends:
Rowan isn't exactly the warmest or most encouraging of people, but they do have quite a bit of patience in academics. They're willing to help out others who might be struggling. Usually you'd have to ask them first, but if it's really noticeable he might approach them and make the offer. He could also get stuck with someone in a group project and it's revealed how much they struggle with one subject or another and that's how things get started. Basically he helps someone with academics and it hopefully leads to friendship somehow.
Rowan spends a lot of time working on their studies. They're their own worst enemy in a sense; they alienate themselves from others, spend most of their time holed up in their room or a library, and on occasion neglect to properly take care of themself. They need someone who isn't scared off by their bark, someone who keeps an eye on them. Make sure they've been eating, drag them out of their room to be outside for a bit when they've been sitting in their room for too long. Rowan will probably outwardly scowl and call it being a nuisance, but inwardly will appreciate that they care
Rowan in interested in the creation of salves that help keep skin hydrated, and have started growing some potted plants to use for their various scents. They're still quite new at both tasks, and while they might never want to admit they need help any information they can get that would help them would be greatly appreciated.
Rivals:
Rowan is willing to help people out, but they are not willing to do all the work for someone or let themselves be walked on. Maybe someone sneaky tries to get away with this, either by trying to get Rowan to do their work or to steal Rowan's work. Maybe a bully attempts to intimidate Rowan and finds the Nixie has a will of steel. I'm open to the idea of physical bullying (Rowan is from warmer waters and has a more slender build than a northern Nixie), though we'd have to talk things out beforehand.
Rowan's got a natural talent for sarcasm. They usually only use it when you've earned a sarcastic remark, but if you're a repeat offender they'll just bust it out automatically. They can also be a little condescending sometimes. This kind of ties into the previous plot in a way. Basically Rowan just irritates someone and gets under their skin. Could result in physical confrontations, would just have to talk things through beforehand.

Personality: Quartz is usually pretty quiet and off to the side most of the time. She likes to observe the world and try to draw the things that capture her interest, so most of the time her nose is buried in a sketch book of some kind. Even when she's not drawing she's perfectly happy to sit and just be in the moment and listen to those around her. She can be chatty every now and then, but by and large quiet is her normal mode. She does make a really good listener, but that's about all she'll do. Quartz is hesitant to offer advice on personal problems, unless she herself is part of the problem, and is more likely to just be consoling and supportive. In that regard she is quite steadfast; it takes a lot to shake her faith in someone she likes and trusts to get her to abandon them, no matter what the circumstances.
Quartz loves to draw and paint. She had a little bag with her at all times that she keeps a small sketch book, a pack of crayons and some pencils in, but sometimes she'll lug around a bit more. She likes to focus in on things she finds pretty, either in color or shape, and try to preserve that moment of beauty. She had no problem with people watching as long as they stay unobtrusive, but she's oddly secretive with her art books and doesn't let just anyone flip through them. On rare occasions she'll make pictures for other people, but for the most part her art is all an inner reflection of her thoughts and observations, and is quite personal to her.

Quartz lives in a home leased by her mother Topaz, near the coast and close to Asterion and Hyperes.
Quartz's room is at the end of the hall, to the right. She shares the room with her brother and older sister. Topaz has the room at the end of the hall, and Keira has the room at the beginning of the hall, so their parents are on either side of them. The room has a full bed and a set of bunkbeds, a closet, a couple dressers, and lots of toys.
Mother. Quartz likes to spend a lot of time in Topaz's room, since she has all kinds of interesting things that Quartz tries to sketch. Topaz always has interesting stories to tell, and often takes Quartz out for walks.
Mother. Keira is super smart and gives some of the best snuggles ever. Quartz likes to work on her homework whenever Keira is studying, cause it makes her feel smart just like her momma.
Older half-sister. Rian has the prettiest wings ever! Quartz loves drawing Rian more than anything, and thinks her big sister is the coolest person ever.
Younger half-sister. Quartz thinks Amber is the cutest thing there ever was. While typically a bit reserved and off in her own little world most of the time, Quartz does her best to look after Amber. She's usually the one to calm Amber down if she gets upset about something. Thankfully it's as easy to cheer her up as it is to drive her to tears so it rarely takes more than a good hug and some soothing words, but it still makes Quartz worry about her little sister.
Quartz has a few classes together with Atem. She loves his color combination and secretly sketches him quite a bit. She might even have something of a crush on him...
Quartz bumped into Maerad while wandering the Academy at night. The pair snuck off to the music room to so Maerad could show Quartz her harp and play a bit. Quartz is in complete awe of Maerad's musical talents, and also loves attempting to catch all the hues of red from Maerad's tail in drawings.
Familiars:
Patches ☿ Revenant | Topaz originally owned Patches, whom she named Star. They followed Topaz's other revenant, Comet, home. Quartz renamed them Patches when she was a little kid, because that's what they reminded her of and the name just stuck. Patches was super fond of her and Khiran, but eventually bonded with Quartz. Seeing the bond, Topaz decided to give Patches to Quartz. Patches liked to wander and explore and doesn't seem to require a ton of attention, but they do like being petting or snuggling up for naps. Their favorite hobby is napping, actually; Topaz once theorized their exploration is less about curiosity and more about finding the best nap spots.
Rose ♂ Coatl | Rose is super needy and wants attention pretty much all the time. He can be a bit of a baby if the one particular person he wants pets from isn't there and tends to sulk. He doesn't stay mad long though, since his need for attention overpowers his desire to make a statement. When he isn't begging for pets and treats, he's usually exploring. He initially followed Topaz home, but took a huge liking to Quartz and ended up becoming her familiar.
Bubble Gum ☿ Bakeneko Slime | Quartz caught Bubble Gum by using food to tempt slimes into coming close to her. Really she almost didn't have to bother. Bubble Gum was following Quartz around for most of the day and loving playing chasing games. The food was just an added perk to an already sealed deal. Bubble Gum adores Quartz and follows her everywhere, though they won't say no to pets from strangers. They also like sunshine naps, and frequently follow Patches around since Patches knows the best napping spots.
Opal ☿ Winged Wisp | Quartz found Opal while out hiking. She was admiring some beautiful wildflowers, when out came the little winged wisp. Opal is a very sweet creature who adores anything colorful. Flowers are a favorite, but they gravitate towards cloth or stone as well. They have a habit of wandering when something catches their interest, but they always come back when they hear Quartz calling.
Taffy ♂ Crocobee | Taffy is a very relaxed kind of crocobee. As long as he isn't disturbed, he doesn't usually get territorial. He loves perching on Quartz best, but is equally fond of sitting on Bubble Gum. If neither is around then Taffy is usually out hunting for interesting plants to roll around in. He can be a sweetie and is usually okay with strangers touching him if Quartz does the introducing, but isn't known for having any particular love for snuggles.
Cake ♀ Mewgle | Cake is sweet like her name. She does tend to do her own thing and get into trouble from time to time, but rarely anything bad. The worst was when she tracked through Quartz's paint and on top of her sketch books, but none of the actual sketches inside were harmed so Quartz laughed the incident off and keeps her paints more secure. Cake loves playing and needs some attention from people to keep her happy, but otherwise she manages to entertain herself the rest of the time and enjoys a good snuggle!
Treasure ♂ Fluffbug | Treasure is a fluffbug with a major sweet tooth and a temperament synonymous with what he craves. Offer him something tasty and you'll have yourself a new best friend. He's always poking around looking for the next tasty treat and isn't afraid to try a bit of everything.

Quartz hasn't really thought much about what she finds personally attractive in a romantic partner. She has an artist's eye and like pretty colors or patterns, but they doesn't necessarily have to do with love. She's usually off in her own world and don't particularly think about it, preferring to let whatever might happen happen on its own without her looking for it.

Quartz loves being outside. They often go on long walks with their brown/gold mom and take their familiars out for a bit of exercise, so they're a lot stronger than their slight form might lead people to believe. They could meet a fellow outdoor enthusiast, or run into someone while they're outside in general. Chances are Quartz will have one or both of their familiars with them (a revenant and a coatl), so one or both of them could come into play. This is a pretty generalized plot, so lots of wiggle room to work with!
Rivals:
Quartz doesn't like bullies. Maybe someone who picks on other people notices Quartz trying to stick up for the people they bully, but she never directly confronts the bully. How things go really depend on how you want them to. Quartz isn't easily cowed, but she's not the type to tattle either. You could bully her in at attempt to intimidate her, which could either work or not work, and if not work there's either a lot of frustration on the part of the bully or respect or maybe some intimidation of their own. Really depends on what you want to do, willing to work with several ideas on this one.
Quartz draws pretty often, and usually whatever she finds interesting. Maybe someone takes exception to this for some reason. Maybe she doesn't let them watch, or she's drawing them and they don't want her to, or she draws something they really want but she won't give up the drawing or make another. Personality: Laurel is an odd case of conflicting images. When you first meet her you might think she's a bit of a ditz-type. She's sweet, energetic, friendly, and a bit chatty, beyond oblivious to nonverbal cues, and has a lot of trouble reading other's emotions. She's sometimes scatterbrained and her train of thought seems constantly interrupted with new thoughts so she forgets what she's doing or saying, and she's been known to misplace things from time to time as well. So yes, you would be justified in thinking she's a bit ditzy. That's not all there is to Laurel though. She's fiercely intelligent, and while her recall and focus could use some work there's absolutely nothing wrong with her memory. Her energy might sometimes seem over-the-top in interactions, but she's actually very good at channeling it; she's careful not to raise her voice too high, or to make careless gestures with her claws, or any other particulars she remembers about who she's talking to. Her intelligence and ability to channel her energy give her incredible focus, and though there will always be things she'll have trouble learning no matter how hard she tries she's tenacious enough not to give up.
Laurel's default mood is cheerful and chatty, no matter how anyone else reacts to her. She rarely ever gets upset or holds a grudge due to something someone said or did, as long as no one was hurt by it. She's not at all shy either, and if she thinks someone is interesting then she'll talk to them. This might get her in trouble sometimes since she does have such a hard time reading emotional cues. The only thing she seems to be able to sense though, and does not tolerate, is true bullying. She won't let herself be pushed around, and will stand up for others without being asked.
Laurel doesn't have a pack right now, and she feels that. Of course she has her boyfriend so it's not all bad, but it's in her nature to want to be part of a close-knit group. Since she already has so much difficulty with social structures though, she worries she won't do well with pack structures either and it stresses her out a bit. Like most of her kind her immune system isn't the best, and she usually wears scarves or masks around her fast during cold and flu season to try to prevent catching any bugs floating around. Laurel doesn't seem to have any particular talent with magic, but around her senior years in Academy she discovered that she has an innate talent for communicating with the dead. She can hear and be heard by them just fine, but she doesn't usually see more than vague outlines and shapes. If she concentrates really hard things become more focused, but she still only gets a general idea of appearance rather than details.

Laurel lives in the Eldritch dorms at the Academy. She doesn't have a roommate, but shares her space with several familiars. She's not in her room that often since when she's not at class or spending time with her boyfriend, she's either outside or running around the gym.
Flax is Laurel's best friend in the entire world! He's always so patient with her and so very sweet. His influence is actually calming to her most of the time, and can help her to focus when she's particularly frazzled. She loves talking with him, watching him draw, or even just being in the same room while they work on separate things. While he can handle himself and she doesn't fight battles for him, Laurel is still a Grimm. She can be quite possessive of her boyfriend and is dangerous to cross.

Bouncy ☿ Fallen Slime | Laurel caught Bouncy during the great slime escapades at the Academy. The little slime was just bouncing around, and Laurel managed to pluck them from the air with her large paws. It's actually become one of Bouncy's favorite games. Bouncy is a super sweet critter and when not entertaining theirself by bouncing all over the place they greatly enjoy snuggles and attention, especially to their wing-like appendages.
Thistle ♀ Vespercat | Thistle is a giant ball of mischief. She decided to adopt Laurel, and takes great delight in playing tricks on Flax. While full of impish humor, there's still a lot of sweetness bone deep in Thistle. She might playfully swat at slimes and skyfish, but she'd never actually hurt any of them. She seems to just know when it's been a bad day, and will try to cheer her people up with soothing purrs. They should be quite grateful for her attention!
Lilac ☿ Fey Slime | Lilac was a gift to Laurel from Flax. The sweet little slime spends most of its time following either Laurel or Flax, though truth be told they prefer Flax just a bit more since he always smells like nice plants. Lilac is quite inquisitive and loves to explore, but can actually be a bit shy around new people upon first meeting.
Prettyboy ♂ Vespercat | Prettyboy is incredibly sweet. He loves attention and snuggle of all sorts, and chooses to sleep in laps whenever possible. He's almost to the point of needy, frequently seeking out either Laurel or Flax for attention. Prettyboy is very relaxed, doesn't mind being held in just about any position, and is friendly to everyone he meets.
Charlie ☿ Pet Rock | Laurel found Charlie at a Hunter's Jubilee festival. It was just sitting there on the ground and she thought it was too pretty to just walk by and leave there. She ended up keeping it, and named it Charlie since it seemed like a nice name for a rock. Charlie spends most of its time just hanging out in Laurel's room. Thistle dislikes it, but Prettyboy likes batting Charlie around when he's bored.
Pearl ♂ Aetherjelly | Pearl is a very curious aetherjelly and frequently approaches people at random. Or, at least, Laurel believes it's at random. Really though Pearl is particularly attracted to people who seem to have natural talent as a medium. It's the reason he approached Laurel in the first place. Pearl is pretty bold about approaching people, but is usually quite friendly and doesn't mind being being petted or moved about.
Nosy Rosey ♀ Aetherjelly | Nosy Rosey is every bit as curious as Pearl, though she's not as particular about what she investigates. She's always into something and can appear in the most random of places sometimes. She usually drifts along after Laurel or Flax when they're in their rooms, but if left in an open area unsupervised she could pretty easily drift off in pursuit of something that has caught her interest.

Laurel doesn't particularly care about looks or anything like that. She just wants to feel like whoever she's with is a best friend. Someone she can talk to, someone who talks to her, someone who gets that she isn't always on point when it comes to emotional cues and how over the top she can sometimes get. She's not clingy, but she can get a little possessive if she senses a rival.

Laurel is a Grimm, so she has that natural instinct to form a pack. She might just end up forming her own if nothing else, but if any other Grimm happen to be looking for prospective pack members, she's more than willing to talk things out and see if she might be a right fit. She does have a Nixie boyfriend though. She doubts it would be a problem, but if it is then she's automatically not interested. She loves Flax a bunch, and would prefer to start a little pack of her own than abandon him.
Laurel is practicing divination right now, doing her best to get better at it. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to have found her thing just yet. She keeps working at it though, hoping practice will make up for it. If anyone out there is really skilled at divination and willing to take on a dedicated, if slightly absentminded, student, she's willing to learn!
One of Laurel's hobbies is star-gazing. She loves looking at the night sky and all the different constellations, and enjoys looking through astrology and astronomy books. She would love to find a friend she can share that interest with.
Rivals:
Maybe a rivalry can form due to race reasons. Either someone who has a problem with Grimms is competing with Laurel in class (she might be a little scatter-brained at times, but she's pretty darn smart), or maybe another Grimm gets super competitive about the fact that she's not in a pack. They could try to get her to join theirs, but maybe they have a problem with her relationship with Flax? Or they just don't like anyone outside their own pack in general, and see Laurel as a rival in some way. These are just a few ideas I have, would totally love to hear anything else you might have in mind.
Laurel is the kind of person that, going by outer appearances, you'd never guess she's very smart. She's also not all that great at reading emotional cues. Maybe she could have an intellectual or romantic (might have to approve that one with Smolder though) rival who don't appreciate how someone who seems so clueless keeps besting them.

Personality: Samara has a lot of energy that manifests in a couple different ways. For the most part she is extroverted, optimistic, and bordering on bubbly. She can also be quite cunning and patient, and likes to lay down plans that can be short and simple or full of elaboration and multiple stages. She's openly friendly without being immediately accepting. It's not that she's necessarily judgmental, but she wants to be sure she can give someone her trust before she actually does so. Since Samara is a big believer in not closing doors before you even get to them, she oozes charm to keep the ones she has doubts about close just in case she might need them down the line. She doesn't see anything wrong with this kind of manipulation since she's not out to actually hurt anyone, and is entirely unapologetic if caught in her deceptions. She's found that sometimes being straightforward is more effective than being vague or flattering, so even when she's being honest be on the lookout for her tricks.
As one might guess, Samara is very passionate and strong-willed about going after what she wants, and can be quite creative when trying to achieve her goals. While she's almost guaranteed to be playing some kind of game, she's got a strong sense of morals and wouldn't even do anything to actually hurt someone. She is very loyal to those she does trust, and while you might not always know what's on her mind you can at least be assured that she'll always have your back.

Samara lives in the Arkham dorms at the Academy. It's just her and her familiars right now, and while she wouldn't object to a roommate her tendency to steal little things here and there might make that for the best. It's not like she keeps the things she steals (she just likes the challenge), but the scope for misunderstandings is still there.
Sister. Anara was given up for adoption by their parents when she was very young due to her mutations, so Samara doesn't have many memories of her. She hopes to find her sister at the Academy and reconnect with her.
Samara doesn't know much about with Aviont'e, except that despite being part Geist himself he seems to find them scary. This makes him fun to tease, though she doesn't want to be too mean.

Velvet ♂ Jackalope | Velvet is a combination of curious and timid. He likes to explore and see what's happening, but inevitably he will realize, just a wee bit late, that he's easily spooked and doesn't like surprises. He loves getting attention and treats from Samara and is cautiously friendly with strangers, though if Samara's around he's more confident.
Truffle ☿ Elf Slime | Samara managed to catch Truffle by using Velvet's food as bait. Truffle is very much like a cat. If they want attention, they want it now. If they don't want attention, they are quite displeased when it is given to them. They change their mind at the drop of a coin, usually because they get jealous when they see others getting attention, never mind that a second ago they didn't want any attention at all. They're also quite particular about their relaxing spots and the position and fullness of their food dishes. Putting aside all the high maintenance qualities though, Truffle can be quite a sweetie and seems remarkably sensitive to Samara's moods.
Matcha ☿ Winged Wisp | Samara found Matcha hiding in a bag of treats she bought for Truffle. The green wisp was apparently drawn to the sweet-smelling grasses, and their color helped them to blend in perfectly. Matcha's moods depend on how full they are. It's easy to tell when they're hungry since they become very cranky and start teasing and pestering anyone they encounter, people or familiar. When full and content Matcha is very sweet and friendly, lazily drifting around like a giant green ball of dandelion fluff.
Mousse ♀ Winged Jackalope | Mousse is a very relaxed and chill jackalope. She doesn't startle easily, and is very sociable and willing to let others pet or hold her. She's pretty quiet, with an average level of curiosity and a love of nibbling on things to figure out what they are.
Ganache ♂ Jackalope | Ganache loves all kinds of attention and treats. He can be a bit of a beggar and will approach anyone while making big eyes and twitching his nose and whiskers for maximum effect. Samara has to be careful with him because he's so greedy he could easily become overweight! Thankfully Ganache is sweet and friendly enough that being denied unlimited food and special treats doesn't make him hangry, though he does cooperate better when given food.
Cocoa ♀ Kidden | Cocoa is sweet and sass all rolled up into one small bundle. She's stubborn and persistent. When she wants to do something, she sets out to do it. This can get her into plenty of trouble since she doesn't always take the smartest path, instead going for sheer determination and repetition to see her through. Thankfully her owner is a clever Geist who can always help Cocoa out. She spends a lot of time with the jackalopes, particularly Mousse.

Romance:
Samara loves colorful appearances, especially anything sunset colored. She's not exactly a snob if it's love, but she only tends to flirt with what she thinks is cute. If she's going to make a first move you'll know pretty soon, so if nothing happens it's up to the other person to try to initiate something.
Samara can be pretty flirty when she wants, but she can also be serious and calm, so her dynamic in a relationship really depends on how her personality mingles with another.

Samara came to the Academy mostly to look for her sister, whom her parents gave up when she was just a baby. Until now she's been raised by Geists in a very traditional Geist family. Coming to the Academy is a small bit of a culture shock to her, and she's likely to get in trouble here and there. Having a friend to help ease the way would do her a lot of good.
Samara is interested in geology, specifically different kinds of crystals and gemstones, and she's pretty good at styling hair as well. Either one of those interests could be used to start up a plot, I just have no ideas in mind right now. Throw something at me and we'll work things out!
Rivals:
Samara has no problem stealing. Usually it's only small trinkets or food that she keeps, things of little value, and she shares what she has readily enough. More valuable things she likes to hide, just to see people scramble. No matter what her intentions might be, someone is likely to take offence to this kind of behavior, especially because she is so unrepentant even when caught.

Personality: Florence isn't one to hide his emotions. He wears his heart proudly on his sleeves, no matter what others might think, to the point where he probably couldn't hide his emotions even if he wanted to. He has a bit more luck managing his thoughts, though he tends to share those freely as well. He has a lot of energy and life in him. It's not precisely hyperactivity or overt enthusiasm, though those traits do pop up from time to time; it's more like he just never stops. Florence has a seemingly endless well of energy, and if he's ever shown signs of being tired or ready to quit then it's been in private, away from any witnesses.
He's a kindhearted sweetie with liberal amounts of sass and attitude. It would take a strong personality indeed to break Florence of just doing his own thing. He's very comfortable inside his own skin and not too worried about how others see him as long as he's happy with himself. Definitely a social butterfly though. Being around other people, laughing, and having a good time is what makes Florence happy, and he gets quite involved in other's lives. Not necessarily by being constantly around, sometimes it's as little as daily inquiries about how they're doing and making sure everything's going well. If he senses struggling is afoot he will patiently fish out the problem, then swoop in to attempt to solve it!
Florence can also be a calming person to be around. It's his Dryad heritage, he claims. He can affect a very patient and soothing aura, much like relaxing under a tree on a warm day with a gentle breeze blowing by. This usually happens when he's working with plants. He has a natural touch with them, due to his dual heritage, and has a natural eye for arrangements and landscaping. Usually the only people who see this side of him are family and friend's he's known long enough to feel entirely at ease around, though with a little concentration he can slip into that state to be a cool head and heart if necessary.

Florence lives in a rather large household. The house is owned by a hybrid named Alrai, whom his mother has been living with. Alrai has a son of his own named Arinas, plus he was kind enough to let Florence's father move in after Florence and his sister Fiore were imbued. There's also Florence's younger half-siblings, Miellé and Arceus, though the later lives mostly with his other parent. Thankfully the house is quite big!
Father. Morginn is a lot better with hair and clothes that Araceae, so Florence automatically goes to him whenever he needs fashion help. He loves learning new hairstyles from Morginn and frequently practices on Fiore and Araceae since they have longer hair.
Mother. Araceae's super smart and knows all sorts of things. Whenever he's having troubles with homework, Florence almost always goes to Araceae. He really likes playing with her hair and trying to make her smile with his antics.
Sister. She has hair even longer than Araceae, so he loves practicing his new hair techniques on Fiore. She's definitely more calm and level-headed than he is, which makes him both a bit protective of her and in awe of her ability to look after herself.
Absolutely adorable little Fey that Florence ran across on the Academy grounds. The two hit it off quite well, having very similar energy levels. Florence is fascinated by Essei's colors and loves playing with her hair.
Familiars:
Cosmos ☿ Geist Slime | Florence played a game of chase with this little critter before catching it by hiding and then jumping out. Cosmos is a bubbly and playful slime and tends to cause bits of mischief here and there, but overall is super sweet and does it more for attention than any true malicious behavior.
Hyacinth ☿ Winged Wisp | Hyacinth is a very carefree little wisp. They are seemingly quite lazy and slow in contrast with Florence's own rapid movements, but it seems that very energy is what attracts them to the hybrid. They especially seem to like when Florence is outside gardening, and will frequently perch on him as he moves from plant to plant.
Larkspur ♀ Crocobee | Larkspur is a highly territory little crocobee. She had a particular section of the garden that she deems to be hers, and she does not take kindly to intruders. For some reason she seems to view Florence as a moving flower from her territory. He is allowed to come and go around her part of the garden as he pleases, as can Fiore. Both can also handle the crocobee safely. However if she lands on them and sends up following them, she can get highly territory and will try to chase away "intruders".
Rose ♀ Mewgle | Rose is an excitable little thing. She loves poking around and discovering things, but still gets happy over stuff she's had or known about for forever. She loves attention and needs a certain amount of it to keep herself from getting into trouble. She usually ends up tagging along after Cosmos and the two get into all sorts of antics together!
Lantana ♂ Skyfish | Lantana is a very vain skyfish. He is always grooming himself or floating so that his fins are displayed at their most elegant, the light casting against him perfectly. He loves admiration and responds most enthusiastically to verbal praise, but isn't very fond of being touched. He'll allow it with certain people, but it's clear it's just a case of tolerance rather than enjoyment. The only exception is help with grooming hard-to-reach spots!
Wisteria ♀ Fluffbug | Poor Wisteria found her way to Florence when a bouquet of flowers she was enjoying just happened to get tossed into a crowd. Thankfully she was tossed at Florence and a group of friends, who were able to calm her down a bit. She might like Florence in particular, but she's a fan of Vincent and Smiley. Wisteria is a pretty sweet fluffbug and loves being pet, but as long as she's got some nice flowers and warm weather her mood is good no matter what. Thankfully she's not as territorial as Larkspur, though Vincent does have to keep an eye out just to be sure.

Romance:
Florence is a bit of a flirt with everyone, so it can be hard to tell if he's really into you or not. Like, you're-the-one into you. He's not deceptive with his flirting, not exactly. He'll mean everything he says, but you might not be the only one whom he feels that way about.
For a permanent partner, he needs someone who will challenge him mentally. He likes being on the attack, but sometimes it's nice to be stalked in return. I would love to see him end up with either a flirt or someone who is mildly uncomfortable with flirty natures, but is super possessive once they decide they like someone.

Florence is a naturally very confident person, something he just projects. He could befriend timid types who need a bolder, more proactive friend who's willing to take the leadership roll. He could befriend active people who want to have a good time or cause a bit of mischief. He could probably even befriend someone who is naturally a bit of a crank on the outside, but a good person on the inside.
Being half Dryad and half Fey, it should come as no surprise at all that Florence is just naturally gifted with plants. It comes as naturally to him as breathing. He could befriend someone who maybe needs help with some of their own plants, or maybe a fellow plant enthusiastic looking for someone with similar interests. He could also befriend Dryads and Feys, since his touch is soothing to a Dryad yet he can still be soothed by other Feys.
Rivals:
Florence is sometimes known for his attitude and sass, and he doesn't hold back what he's feeling. If he thinks something is off he'll let you know, regardless of whether you want to hear it or not.
Florence is very social and tends to do what he wants. This might be helpful to some personalities who need that push, but to others he might come off as rude or annoying. Some people just want their alone time after all, and don't want some busybody unafraid of their crank butting in.
