T'kani spent a few minutes looking up various divination methods before picking one that seemed interesting, reading up on it a bit before she started scribbling away at her paper.
Rhabdomancy is divination by a straight object, usually a staff or stick. This divination method was typically used for choosing a direction one should take, but can also be used to answer questions, depending on how or where the item falls. The item used can also include such things as rods, wands, and arrows.
In the past, this was used to find water or sources of valuable materials, and in some cases which way to travel when exploring to questing for something of value. Though little records exist, it is possible that this form of divination was used to find the best soul stones before more reliable methods of harvesting and refining them came about.
Currently, more advanced forms of magic have replaced this type of divination, but one can enchant a suitable item to be attracted to a certain material to achieve a similar effect. If this enchantment is used, one should take care to make sure the magic is renewed at a regular interval, especially if the results are critical to whatever function they serve.

Turnip just had no interest in gardening, he wondered if his real parents were like him since he wasn't like Aloe, Allium or Evergreen, the people who had adopted him and his two siblings and then had a bunch of other kids. Turnip sighed he just didn't feel like he fit in, so he signed up for the divination class, early he had accidently been reading the assignment for the college divination class, so he decided to write about felidomany. The study of making predictions based on the behavior of cats. He read that the behavior of a cat could be used to predict the weather or to predict if money and good fortune would come to a person. Trunip smiled when the little old imp lady he had been hanging out with lately told him that both white and black cat were considered good luck. Turnip notice that no one else could see or hear her so far, so he figured out she must be a ghost. Turnip didn't mind, it was nice that he had something that was a spark of his own.

“I guess since we’re doing introductions. Hello everyone. I’m Hades. I picked Divination as an elective because I’ve always been interested in magic and the different forms we have. This makes Divination even more fascination since there are so many different aspects. However if I have to narrow it down to three branches I’d pick: Lithomancy, Lunamancy, and phyllorhodomancy” Hades started when it came around to introducing himself. However that wasn’t actually completely true. He was somewhat interested in Necromancy being a litch but it wasn’t something he was going to admit to especially when the other kind was illegal. “ As for why these interest me? Well… Litomancy interests me because it’s using stones and gems as a way to prodict the future and I’ve always had a passion for geology. It’s a good way to fuse both interests. Lunamancy is another given. I’ve always been interested in the moon and learning about it and if given the choice I’m more of a night owl then anything. It’s another one where its taking something I already like and mixing it in with something I’m interested in learning. I’m interested in Phyllorhodomancy because I’ve always liked working with plants, especially roses. Seemed like another given”There introduction done.

Harley listened to the other student as they went on about what parts of divination interested them. She had always wanted to do this, but she hadn't looked into the specific types until she started taking this elective. When it was her turn to speak, she hesitated for a moment, looking down at her notes before she began. "My n-name's Harley..." She looked around a bit, trying to make sure she kept breathing in front of the audience of students. "I got into d-divination because I would like a little certainty in my life.... She knew that was silly, but with her depression and all the spirits filling her head with upsetting things, she wanted to know that there wold be happiness for her. And if she could make a living off of that, she would be happy to help. "The three branches o-of divination I'd look into are anthomancy, libanomancy, and tasseomancy. Tasseomancy is the basic reading of tea leaves. I think tea can be warm and welcoming, so even if the news is not what you expect, there's at least the tea... Libanomancy is divination through the reading of smoke or the ash of incense. I personally love to watch the smoke... And anthomancy uses flowers and... I just think.... Flowers are nice..." Her face grew hot as she sat back down in her seat.

Listening intently as those around her spoke, Nepheline felt a little guilty for being here when she really only had a passing interest in the subject. Everyone else seemed to actually have plans to use what they would be learning. Ah well, it wasn't as if her being here kept someone else out.
Realizing that that the girl who'd been talking had sat down and that is was her turn, Nepheline stood and smiled a little uncertainly.
"My name's Nepheline and I'm here because Divination looked interesting when I was picking electives. I'm not sure if I'll have a concrete use for it once I'm out in the world, but it seems like a useful skill to possess either way. And I think the one that interests me the most is bibliomancy. I love books and the idea of reading the future from things on paper sounds fascinating."
Sitting quickly, she rubbed her face, took a deep breath and smiled once more. Hopefully, she hadn't made a bad impression.

Nai smiled encouragingly at his classmates, and stood up next. "My name is Naihilus. I'm taking divination because I think it would be useful, maybe even as a career option. I think it could be applied to so much more than predicting the weather. I might be interested in expanding the boundaries of divination and what it can be used for." He smiled. "But I'll have to start here first.
"My favorite forms of divination are stichomancy, apantomancy, and pilimancy. Stichomancy is divination by opening a book to a random page. I like this one because it shows up so often as internet memes, and it's fun to see the results. Apantomancy is divination by the random appearance of animals. I liked to make up meanings to animal sightings when I was a child, so this one appeals to me a lot. The last one is pilimancy. That's divination by observing the way that hair trimmings fall. I like that one because it involves a Nightmare or Daydream element--a way to predict the future or uncover the past using the personal element. I think divination like that is the most promising form." He sat down again. That was the longest speech he'd ever given in his entire life.

This was a difficult class for Esrael. He had never taken a Divination class before and even just trying to meditate and clear his thoughts proved to be really difficult. Granted he was getting better at it, but he still didn't feel like it was any good at it.
Rae sat there, trying to clear his mind of the nagging thoughts, while it proved to be pretty difficult he managed to get to a decent stage of it. That's when it hit him, the prediction seared itself into his brain and he almost jolted out of his chair. What he saw was definitely not very good...or was it...? Even though it only happened a few moments ago he could barely even remember what he had seen at all.
Obviously it couldn't have been too bad, right? Something really terrible would be something that you just couldn't forget. Maybe it was something like he'd trip walking up the stairs somewhere. Or spill hot tea on himself. Either way they both seemed pretty terrible to him. One of these days he was going to get this down!

Laurel sighed softly in frustration. No matter how she tried to clear her thoughts and still her mind, no matter how she turned the cup, no matter which way she looked, she didn't see anything but a pile of soggy leaves. There weren't even any kinds of shapes that she could pick out, let alone anything that hinted at an omen. Divination was just so hit-and-miss with her, despite her resolve to try harder. Perhaps it was just because she was so active and couldn't achieve the proper state of mind? Laurel sighed again and tried once more to look into the cup for an omen, wanting to at least say she tried.

Gwen was having a very surprising day, first she was good at dancing, now she actually saw something good trying divination out. This was really weird, she had only signed up for these classes because there wasn't any room in the science classes Gwen had full so Gwen didn't have a choice but to try other things if she wanted to graduate from the academy so she could move on to Leviathan. Perhaps this omen was telling Gwen that she would do well in all of these electives and graduate soon.

Turnip loved the supernatural and the strange so he decided to try divination but apparently, it wasn't his thing, because he wasn't sure what he saw or if he was mistaken about what he saw. Maybe it had just been a trick of the light or maybe it was a bad omen.
