Username: Huni Pi Nightmare: Charmstar Prompt Answer:  The fallen came to class looking a little longingly at the notebook he held. Part of him didn't want to part with it but he knew he had to submit the assignment. MondayToday is Monday and it is the first day I must keep a diary for Language class. Ms. Lyra promised she wouldn't read what we write but I'm not writing the juicy stuff. Just in case.TuesdayToday is Tuesday and it is the second day I must keep a diary for Language class. I listened to DJ Heartstrings help a Nightmare deal with their unrekwi unreki love for someone that doesn't love them back.WednesdayToday is Wednesday and it is the third day I must keep a diary for Language class. Met this hilarious freshling runt. He was trying to act all tough and bossy to me! HA! He wasn't pink in any way, at all, so I don't care what he says or thinks of me.ThursdayToday is Thursday and it is the fourth day I must keep a diary for Language class. Nothing interesting happened today. I just went to class, hung out, then went to my dorm room. Sorry.FridayToday is Friday and it is the fifth day I must keep a diary for Language class. I went around looking for Pip so I could invite him to hang out. And maybe take him flying. Or hovering. My wings aren't that strong yet, boo, but I'm getting there!SaturdayToday is Saturday and it is the sixth day I must keep a diary for Language class. I almost forgot to write an entry! It was a busy day for me what with trying to study Math (ugh all those numbers are so hard) that I only remembered to right write an entry just when I climbed into bed. Can't believe I'm getting so forgetful.SundayToday is Sunday and it is the last day I must keep a diary for Language class. I found this assignment fun. Wasn't expecting to but I don't think I'll keep it up. Maybe if something really interesting happens I'll write it down somewhere safe and secret.

Username: Reoakee Nightmare: Eveilyn Prompt Answer: Eve wasn’t sure what would be the assignment for the day when she came to class but once it was announced she was surprised. She had recently been looking into other cultures thanks to Blythe so this assignment was one she was very well prepared for. Thinking about it she couldn’t help but wish that the giving of gifts could be a little embarrassing if she were another race, but those that seemed alright with giving gifts somewhat seemed a little extreme. So in retrospect perhaps how she was there was alright. She then tried to think of the positives of being another race. Eve could imagine many other good things about the other races. With that in mind she began her work. If I could be any race I so choose I would still like to be a fallen. Yes it would be nice to have a good solid history like the other races and know exactly where my roots are, and yet I love to have my soft feathers and I like to be able to fly. I was raised in fallen tradition so that is what I am comfortable with. Yes some small changes here and there over time wouldn’t be a bad thing but when I try to place myself growing up in another culture I worry parts of it would make me feel uncomfortable. There are many wonderful races in our world each with aspects that make them unique and gifted. Still no matter the superb skills and benefits to being any race I would still always just want to be a fallen. It is what I know and what I love.
There simple to the point and while acknowledging that each race was good she still only wanted to be herself.

Entry: The little Fey's brow furrowed as she tried to remember her first memory. How was she sure that that was her earliest memory and not her second memory?
I’m kind of forgetful, but one of my earliest memories was when I was being brought to the Below. The orphanage that I was originally in was overloaded, so they brought some kids down to the Below, hoping we would have a better chance. I was really scared, if only because I had heard a lot of negative things about it and the Nightmares. But after I met some of the aids, one was a Litch and he was really sweet, he held my hand. His claws were a lot different than a goblin’s, but even with the little bits of rot, he was really nice! He explained that it was just a lot dimmer than Above, I was happier, especially after I met my sister–to-be, Ash. I think this is my earliest memory, if not second earliest. I hope you don’t mind if I’m not sure if I mixed them up!
With that, she pushed herself up from her desk and brought it to the teacher's desk, smiling.

Username: Deejaye Nightmare: Phaedra Entry: Phaedra scratched her head, quietly deliberating. Her first memory, huh? That was definitely hard to figure out - how could she remember which was her first? What if she remembered an earlier one later, after the assignment... Would the teacher fail her?? She nibbled her pencil eraser before drafting:
I don't remember much from my super early times, but I do have this one memory that really sticks out to me. When I was really little, like I could barely walk, I can remember some melodies. Like someone was singing or humming to me. I remember I’d try to follow it but I couldn’t figure out where it came from. I can't really remember how it goes but... I do remember bits and pieces. I could never figure out who or what was singing or humming or whatever but...I like to think that is what sparked my love for music. Who knows, maybe I'll meet whoever was making the music or maybe I'll hear it again and it'll help me remember.
She hoped it was acceptable. Taking a deep breath, she toddled over to the teacher and handed it in.Username: Deejaye Nightmare: Zephyr Entry: Listening to the assignment the teacher gave, the bakaneko let out an excited purr. Memories! Memories were great –they could yap on about memories forever. Zephyr was excited for the assignment – they couldn’t help but admit that they enjoyed being able to write about themselves. It was extremely satisfying to just let their thoughts out! Fidgeting in their seat excitedly, they started scribbling ferociously:
Memories are cool because you get to share them with family or friends or whatever! For me, I like to think I’m really super lucky a lot of the time, because I had a super awesome twin, so I get to share all my memories with him! There’s this one in particular I remember. I think it’s my first memory. Me and him were really little, and started playing catch with some yarn. It got super loose and I got tangled in it. I remember being mad at the time but thinking about it now, it sounds really funny and I’d want to do it again.
Satisfied with their writing, Zephyr excitedly toddled over to Lyra, almost tumbling and falling flat on their face in their excitement. Turning in the paper, they smiled brightly before returning to their desk happily.

Username: Ember-babe Nightmare: Abel Prompt Answer:MondayToday was a bit of a lonely day. I haven't seen Caine in some time, and my demoness has been busy with her studies. I really need to branch out and make new friends, but sometimes I just feel so shy ... Tuesday:I nearly failed my Care of Magical Creatures class today! My knees and elbows are still all scuffed from trying to catch wisps late in to the night on Monday! I got barely any sleep, but I managed to finally capture a Wisp and submitted it ... I think I'll be aching for a while ... Wednesday:I skipped school today to go and hang out with my lovely demoness. I had so much fun! Her place is really cool, but the kids housing with her can be a bit bratty ... makes me want to postpone having kids of my own for, like, forever. Thursday: I ran in to the kids I met at my demoness' place in the halls today. Which was really awkward because I told them I was one of Aami's school friends ... I guess I'm busted. Friday:Come oooon weekend! Eeee~! I am so excited! I'm planning to go see my demoness this weekend! I'm really excited to spend my first weekend with her. I hope it goes smoothly ... Saturday:Plans were cancelled ... I got swamped with homework and tests to study for, and my demoness said I needed to focus on my studies so I can get out of the Academy ASAP. I don't disagree with her ... but I wish I got to see her. I miss her ... Sunday:I got to Skype with Aami today! We downloaded and watched Tide, Prejudice and Litches together ... it was the weirdest parody I think I have ever seen. I like the original way better, obviously, but it was really nice to get to do something date-like with my demoness, even if I couldn't be with her in person ... maybe next weekend will pan out better for us!

Username: jinxgirl5 Nightmare: Alyssum Entry:  Ah wow, this was going to be embarrassing. Alyssum really hoped Lyra wouldn't laugh at her assignment. She bent her head over her paper, using her arms and hair to try to hide it. There was a quiet Bakeneko, born in a small village. She was very shy and got scared easily when she was little. Once, when she was still barely older than a baby, she lost her beloved mouse toy. She was very upset and looked everywhere for it, but couldn't find it. That night she had trouble going to sleep without her toy. She was tossing and turning when something caught her eye. There, between the wall and her bed, was a terrifying shadow! The Bakeneko screamed and jumped from her bed and ran to her parent's room, crying about monsters. Her parents came in to check, and discovered the shape was the Bakeneko's mouse toy. It had gotten stuck between the wall and her bed when she had been sleeping the night before, but she hadn't noticed. The little Bakeneko was quite embarrassed, but very glad to see her toy.Username: jinxgirl5 Nightmare:Entry:  Rowan hesitated a little, softly tapping their pencil against the paper as they wondered if it was okay to right about their memory. All their early ones were from the underwater city they had grown up in. Maybe if they were a bit vague? It was an ordinary day, adults busy with adult stuff while kids played games. Rowan, a young Nixie who was barely older than an infant was too little to join most of the games, and was exploring to pass the time. They were pretending they were on a great adventure, so when they found a lot of water on the floor they didn't think anything of it and made it part of the adventure. Their splashing was loud though, so loud it alerted their parents who came to see what was happening. Rowan was very confused as to why their parents seemed upset about the water, because they were having a very fun time. They were taken out of the water and put in a different room while a bunch of adults wandered around, but they got a really tasty treat and their mom gave them lots of attention so it didn't upset them too badly.

 Username: Ebonrune Nightmare: Essei Entry: Essei thought hard about this, since she had lots of good memories, but which was her first memory? I remember when my mommy was teaching me about the stars and the constellations. They had lots of big names and big stories and I can't remember them all but they were very important and neat and the stars were very pretty and I want to learn about stars when I get big so I know all these things my mommy knows! We sat outside until I fell asleep and she let me stay up way past my bed time! I don't know if its my earliest memory but I was very little so I think it is. Username: Ebonrune Nightmare: Tobias Entry: Tobias fidgeted and chewed on his fingers. He didn't want to write about his first memories, so he tried to think of something that wouldn't make the teacher think he was whining or making things up. I remember when my big sister sang to me when I had nightmares. She would sit me on her lap on my bed and sing real soft so she didn't bother our parents until I felt better and fell asleep. Sometimes she checked under the bed and in the closet to make sure there were no scary things hiding in there. She was a good sister until she had to go away.

Entry: The little demoness frowned at the prompt, her first memory? That seemed like a little bit of a stretch, but she grabbed her pencil.
My first memory was listening to my care taker sing a song about the moon. I don’t remember their name or the words they were singing, but I know the melody. I learned how to play it on the recorder, but that’s not something I can really write about. I just remember that it was about the moon, it sticks out. I think it was a lullaby, mostly because I don’t remember seeing anything. So as they sang, I remember being really calm and a bit happy, my eyes must have been closed. It’s a happy memory, but I wish I could remember more.
She pushed her up from her desk and took it to the teacher's desk, smiling. She really hoped that Ms. Lyra liked it.

Monday:
I had to catch a familiar for my other class, luckily, I knew where there was a nest of flitterrats hiding by the school grounds. Mr. Sirius thought that he gave us a challenge, well, I am the champion! I know you're not going to read this, Ms. Lyra, so I figured I could add that last bit.
Tuesday:
I had to go to the store before class to buy a cage for my new pet. I didn't think about it last night until I was already home and I had a wild flitter eating my textbook for this class. Still contemplating a name, but my friend said that it's a female.
Wednesday:
Some of my classmates have been offering me suggestions for names, but I haven't liked them. I feel really bad about leaving my pet at home, but what can I do? She can't stay in my bag.
Thursday:
Well, her name is Bugle and she got out. I'm down two more pages in my text book. I might end up having to buy this book. Rest in pieces, my poor text book... and my wallet as well.
Friday:
Ugh, maybe this was a bad idea and I should have released her, I haven't slept well in awhile.
If you're wondering her name, it's the author of the text book. I forgot to add that yesterday.
Saturday:
Know what? She's still pretty cute. I think I'm going to keep trying to tame her. Worse case... she goes back home to her family. Best case, she's my family.
Sunday:
Well, this was fun, though I nearly forgot a day or three considering Bugle almost got a bite or eight out of this. I hope you don't mind some nibbling, Ms. Lyra!

 Username: Magician Arcana Nightmare: Cyota Entry: Earliest memory? Cyota considered and then started to write furiously. My earliest memory is looking at a really pretty rock! It was red and had a few stripes of yellow in it. I remember picking it up and licking it a little bit. It didn't taste good. When my caretaker noticed me, they picked me up and said, "Cyota, don't lick weird things!" I giggled and kept the rock. It's one of my favorite things. Whenever I'm really worried or sad or stressed, I pick up the rock and rub it gently. It makes me feel better. Safer... more secure. Once I forgot where I put it and was really, really, really sad! But in the end, I found it in my sock drawer. Haha! It's kinda funny, huh?Cyota was proud of their work. Hopping up to the teacher, they put the work in and gave her a thumbs up, "I did my best! I hope you like it!"  Username: Magician Arcana Nightmare: Manny Entry: Oh... Thank the nine. Not a talking assignment. Manny was decent at writing and so he worked diligently, first on a rough draft, and then on a final draft that he made sure was in his best penmanship. My earliest memory is seeing something really scary in my closet. It had big, big eyes and giant teeth. It looked hungry and had claws so long I thought I was going to be eaten alive! I started crying really hard and my caretaker came in. She held me and showed me that it was just the lighting. There was nothing scary or dangerous in there at all! She helped me get back into bed and then told me a little song to sing if I got scared. It goes like - never fear, i'm always here, always close beside. close your eyes, rest your mind, and you will sleep in time. It really works!! I hum it a lot when I am out, even when its not time to sleep...Manny shyly approached the teacher's desk and submitted the paper, "T-thank you.."

 Username: Koiasi Nightmare: Anara Entry:Anara frowned heavily. She hated this topic more than words could say. There was a part of her that wanted to lie about her first memory, not everything was sunshine and rainbows. Huffing, she shook her head, maybe she'd let the teacher see that rather than skipping out on school for a change.. Maybe she'd think twice before having this kind of topic again.. Once upon a time there was a family, and even though this family had a kid already, for some reason they wanted another. The family thought they could have a happy family with just one more, however, it was near Hallow's Eve and yet for some reason that didn't deter the family from imbuing a stone. They swore they'd love the child no matter what they turned out to be, but that wasn't further from the truth.
One night the child was playing in her room when she overheard her family talking. Her mother and father were arguing and she could hear sobbing from the other side. She heard her mother talking about her, about how she was a freak and how every time she looked at the girl she wanted to scream. The girl didn't understand why her parents didn't love her. She couldn't understand why her father had taken her on a trip and left her at a building she had never seen before. She never understood why they left and why they'd never return.She mused when she finished the paper, carefully turning it over so that no one else could see what she had written and then returned to her desk.

Entry: As their assignment for today was given, Callie gave somewhat of a puzzled look. Her first memory? She wasn't really sure what it even was at this point. Sitting there, she pondered such a thing -- a couple sneezes interrupting the process for a moment -- then she began to write.
The first memory I have is is when maow maow and paw paw sat down on the floor with me. They were smiling while I was playing with my little toys paw paw made me. They said something to me, but I don't think I knew what it meant because I was so little. It didn't matter though, because they held of a pretty little Vespercat and set it down on the floor in front of me. It was so pretty and I was so excited that when I went to touch it... well I accidentally hit it instead. Paw paw took my hand and told me no. Said I had to be gentle and he showed me how to pet our new kitty cat.
As she finished writing up the assignment, she had to quickly rub her eyes. Thinking about home made her miss paw paw and maow maow very much... and their kitty. With a sniffle, she got up and followed the other children who were taking their papers up to the teacher.

I'm not even sure what I should write in this. I'm terrible at writing down feelings, so I guess I could tell you what happens in my day? Nothing eventful really happened today, I suppose, I just had to start writing in here.
Tuesday:
Today, I went into town to get a haircut and my claws done. It's been too long since I've had a nice pampering, but I've been saving up! I actually do odd jobs around campus for a few dollars, though I'm not sure if that's exactly legal?
Wednesday:
Shoot, I'm late for class! I'm sorry about the terrible handwriting on this, I'm technically running to class while I write and trying not to tri- [the entry ends in an illegible scribble]
Thursday:
Well, after yesterday's fall, I ended up going to the infirmary. I kinda put it off, but I ended up limping and my teacher made me go today. The nurse says I sprained my ankle, so it looks like I won't be doing anything.
Friday:
Of course, the one day that I end up having to stay off my foot is the day that my friends end up throwing a spur of the moment party. I'm really sad, but Feeb, my fennekit, is keeping me company at least. She's not much for conversation though.
Saturday:
My ankle is feeling a fair bit better, but I still can't put too much weight on it. Luckily, I just have to get my homework done and I can sleep the rest of the day. I'm really adventurous, aren't I?
Sunday:
Today, I made a really nice vegetarian lasagna for my roommate and myself. She's not really into the whole vegetarian thing, but I thought it was really tasty. I wish I was a better cook though, this whole diet restriction thing is pretty restricting.

Prompt Answer: Janine pondered the question for a few minutes before she picked up her pencil. There were so many options, especially with the newest additions to the school.
If I could be any other race, I would probably have to say I would want to be a Chimera. I’m kind of jealous of the flying races, but they seem so powerful. I wish I could fly. Fey and Fallen seem a bit too fragile, but Chimera? Wow, I’m just awestruck. I think I could even get used to living in the mountains, though I really haven’t been out of an urban environment. But hey, I’m imagining myself as something completely different, why not have fun exploring the world? Having that wind in your face and all that freedom must be so... Liberating. I’m not really good at anything but disappearing. Over the years, I’ve just faded more and more. I don’t even stand out or glow. But maybe if I was a Chimera, I would be able to stand out a bit more. That sounds a bit sad, huh?
I should probably add that I don't hate being a Geist, I'm really happy with myself. I don't mean to make this sound depressing.
With that, she quickly went over to the Ms. Lyra and placed her paper in the pile. She really did want to disappear after writing that, but she kept herself solid, at least for now.

Prompt Answer:
What sort of question was this? Were they supposed to be unhappy with their race? Or was this some sort of "take a walk in their shoes" exercise? Zenith narrowed her eyes in thought, pencil tapping against her notebook as she considered the question. Was there a race she wanted to be? A lot of them had their physical benefits and drawbacks... Some had strange(ish) cultural habits... Others not so much...
After some consideration, she finally began writing...
Even if I could choose to be something else, I think I would stay a Geist. I like my race and my culture. We're unique! Not that everyone else isn't, but we are kind of the black sheep of the world to some extent. I like our cultural norms and our history - we're a fun people! I mean, there are benefits to being a member of any race, but I rather like our attributes.
I know this exercise was probably to get us to think outside of the box, and I did, but I still like who I am and what I am. If absolutely forced to choose a different race, though, I think I'd probably choose to be a Baphomet. My own culture is a culture of clever and playful thievery, but Baphomet culture is almost the opposite? So that seems interesting... Not to mention the horns are pretty cool.
There. That would have to do. She sighed, then signed and dated the paper before passing it in to Lyra.
