Roleplay Response: Archimedes took the test the first time and fail, he hadn't understood at first what the heck the test was for. Then he went back and realized what the test was about word spacing. Which was important for his art in a way, since if he wanted to do a wood carving with words on it the spacing would be very important since if Archimedes messed it up after he started carving the entire piece would be trash. The second time that he did the test was better but Archimedes still wanted to study more about word spacing because he didn't feel like he knew enough to be confident in his word spacing if he decided to go and do a carving of a sign for a business or a decorative piece with someone's name on it. He did the test a few more times practicing till he got a high enough score to make him proud of his work.

Quartz was excited to hear about the assignment in class. She loved all forms of art, but landscapes were one of her favorites to attempt. She even already had a place in mind. She pulled out her sketch book and flipped through the pages until she found the one she was looking for.

She took a moment to admire the drawing again. It was done with pencil,
and featured her little sister sprawled on her back in a small clearing full of green grass and wildflowers. She propped the book open to work from and got to work. Quart started with the trees that had ringed the clearing since they formed most of the background, dabbing in bits of color for the sky that shone through the branches. She added in as much shadow detail as she could, then moved to paint the grass and flowers. When she gave the painting time to dry she checked it against the sketch and was pleased with her progress.

Quartz moved on to add the highlights to the trees in the background, and made sure the tree section was draw before daubing the bits of lighter grass and flowers that had pressed up against the clearing edge. Highlighting was easier with bright colors, but she had to be a lot more careful with her shading. There were a lot of pauses to let the paint dry before she could work on specific sections.

Finally finished, Quartz leaned back and admired her painting. She'd left her sister out, since it was supposed to be a landscape piece, but other than that she really loved how it came out. Pencils were still her favorite medium,
but it was nice to break out the paints every now and then. Good thing she'd used a washable type too, since there was almost as much paint on her as on the canvas!

Calypso's heart thudded happily in her chest as her teacher asked them to paint a landscape art piece! She already knew what she wanted to paint. Something she had always admired about the world of Below; the gardens! Calypso gathered her materials and made her way to the garden area. She then plopped herself down at her favorite spot then pulled out her paints. Most others would sketch out the scene first but that wasn't how Calypso did it. She closed one eye and tilted her head as her finger and thumb extended to try and find the perfect place to put in her landscape. After finding it, she began with one of the fruit trees; starting at the base then working her way up. She moved to the grass then flowers then the crops that were growing in the planter boxes. She even made sure to get the bird's nest in the tree. Once she finished, Calypso laughed a bit as she looked at her clothes. It reminded her of Coco; she really understood why her clothes were always covered in paint!

Prompt Response:
Arcadia carried her Canvas and Easel under her arm, she had been around the school twice and nothing had really spoken to her, dejected she sat on the stairs at the Academy and looked out over the entrance, looking out past the wrought iron gates of the school she liked the look of the outside, past the school... the outside world.
The fields outside the school gate were varying shades of green, yellow, browns, even purples out there.
She set up the easel on the ground, sitting a few steps higher she made herself comfortable and using a light pencil she carefully sketched out the lines of the scene before her.
The long gravel walkway offered lots of dotting and texture to the page before she reached the schools gates, the Iron gates twisting and turned in on themselves, before the calm serenity of the grassy hills.
She was really enjoying the depth of the picture, all the colours were working well together, and offering the viewer real dimension.
She was glad she had sat here, the world outside the school was always inviting her out, she looked forward to the day she could leave and make her mark on the world.
This picture; Arcadia guessed - showed her want to be free.

Prompt Response:
Jaret liked art class, mostly because it was something he was really good at; unlike cooking and baking. After hearing the assignment, the hybrid grabbed his supplies and headed out towards the garden. The garden was large so it would be easy to paint a beautiful landscape from there.

As he arrived, he found the best spot possible and set up his things. He started to paint the flowers vining over the cobblestone walls. The way the moss grew between each rock in the wall and floor. As he painted out his garden scene, it seemed to be missing something... Even though you were really supposed to add a focus point since...well it was a landscape... Jaret painted in the silhouette of a beautiful demoness, reading in the garden by herself. Once he was done, he wiped the paint from his brow and smiled. It looked just like her... Now he just hoped that he would get full credit for this assignment.

Prompt Response:
Now art was not like his other subjects, he genuinely had been excited for this elective. Art was his passion, and hopefully one day career. Garet knew his way around a pencil, that went without saying. He drew concept work for the tattoo's he wanted to one day be able to do professionally. Not only that he simply loved drawing, it was a soothing pass time. While traditional painting wasn't his strongest medium, it would be interesting to try he decided once the lesson plan for the day was issued.

Wandering around the school, the hybrid's gaze traveled around the school. So many students...and somehow he had managed to make it this far without falling for anyone. Unlike his twin, who had found the girl of his dreams. He was proud of both of them they were a good match.

Sitting himself down he decided to make his subject be the courtyard. Meticulously he began first with his initial sketch work, before switching to his paint brushes. He had thought to do the gardens, as they were truly breathtaking. But the subject matter of the ridged buildings and the overall proportions and perspectives in replicating the courtyard had seemed like a pleasant challenge. In the end, he wasn't disappointed. It had been extremely relaxing, although he was covered in paint which was annoying.

Prompt Response: Seraph didn't think of himself as artistic but he was using senior year to try new things. So when the teacher assigned them to paint somewhere in the school he went as close as he could to the forbidden forest. There was just something spooky about the place that called to him. However he wasn't entirely sure this would count and so he made sure the angle he was painting included some of the school walls too.

Perspective wasn't really a strong point of his but he worked on it and sketched out what he wanted to paint and spent time working on the colors and the lighting. Paint got all over him and he looked like a colorful disaster but he didn't mind. His painting wouldn't win any medals but he felt good about it.

Prompt Response:
Soren tucked their wings closer to their body, wandering idly as they tried to decide on the best spot for this landscape. They couldn't count the number of times they'd been pushed out into the garden to paint something, so that was out. The courtyard had a few too many nightmares in it from what they'd seen when they'd checked it out. Deskri had suggested the front lawn and that was adequate, they supposed. Sighing, Soren leaned against a wall, setting down their easel for a moment. Perhaps they should just suck it up and head back towards the garden? At the very least there would be something of interest there for them to put to paper.

A sudden breeze turned their attention towards a door they hadn't noticed before. Curious, they picked up their easel and paints and slipped outside, narrowly avoiding the fey coming in. Their face lit up at the sight that met their eyes. Quickly setting up their easel and mixing their paints they put brush to paper to capture the mountain view from this side of the Academy. Soft blues and purples for the hazy sky, storm clouds slowly gathering amidst the rugged rusty reds of the mountains. Slightly closer were the greenhouses and pens for the familiar that were too large to stay in academy dorms. A path trailed down towards the viewer, fine gravel penned in by a smattering of flowers on either side. Soren painted as much as they could at once, stopping only once the storm that had been curled around the mountains had reached the academy. Fat raindrops splattered against the path as they hurriedly gathered their things, careful not to smear the paint. It wasn't finished by any means, but it was distinct enough that they'd be able to come back and finish once the rain let up.

Prompt Response:
Cyril had an easel tucked under one arm and the rest of his painting supplies in the other. The teacher had given them free reign to pick their spot, just giving out a couple suggestions for good locations. Cyril had hoped for a simple assignment, like a bowl of fruit or something, so of course they would have to go out and do a landscape. They wouldn't be able to finish it today, but they'd be spending the next couple classes on this.

Ugh, Cyril didn't know where to go and he certainly didn't want to go where everyone else was. Being stuck painting something outside where not only would there possibly be someone else from class painting a similar image, but where anyone could walk by and watch him paint? Not something he'd be able to handle, especially over the course of several classes.

Maybe the secluded nook he'd found when he was a junior? It hadn't been secret, there had been a couple times he'd found someone else there, but it hadn't been wildly popular. For the most part he'd been able to retreat there when he'd needed some solitude.

When he got there, it was perfect. Just interesting enough that he could spend several classes painting it and just out of the way enough that he wouldn't have to contend with anyone else painting it or walking by while he was working. Pleased with his find, he set up the easel and got to work.

Prompt Response:
Kean giddily ran out to the outside of the building, glad that he wouldn’t be stuck inside of the building looking at a boring still life for his art class. He had taken art as an elective this time, and when he was a senior he would take it again if he could. He decided he would do the garden. Although it seemed to be a bit less energetic than say, the courtyard, he wanted to have more options for colors and what to paint, even if the majority of the items were just flowers. He wasn’t too good at painting, but he was willing to give it a try. Besides, it would be hard to fail if he at least tried right? It’s not like one could grade on how well someone could paint considering that everyone was at different levels.

He quickly stuck himself down near the garden so that he had a view of it and what lay beyond the school, and started with the basics…

Prompt Response:

Emilia actually enjoyed art, and while she wasn't a master at it an excuse to improve on her skillsets seemed pleasant. A smile crossed her features as she walked with her easel and paint set from her class. She'd have to pick a good spot...hopefully not something overdone, or overcrowded. She didn't mind hanging around her fellow classmates, but today she could use the alone time. She still didn't know exactly what had happened between Wade and Cyril..but she knew it was enough it had negatively impacted them both. Sighing she wandered through the garden...walking from the Academy somewhat aimlessly. She found herself out back, just beyond the garden. The space leading to the courtyard and garden seemed like a good middle ground. Silently, Emilia settled down, putting on her apron as she readied her paints.

There was a special someone on her mind...she wanted to paint Zane along with the landscape. A gentle smile crossed her features as she thought of her girlfriend. Carefully she began to paint, starting with a rough sketch she'd doodled on the easel before adding paint. Emilia being a Nixie, had decided to experiment with watercolors. While she wasn't exactly sure what she was doing, Emilia decided to pour her heart into it in hopes of making something worth looking at. It was easy...the subject matter was a gorgeous Baphomet with a smile as bright as a ray of sunshine.

Prompt Response:

Jacie had debated on whether to pick baking or art as an elective. Both weren't really his strong points, but as long as he put in a good effort that was all that mattered. Grinning as he went to go gather up his art supplies, he had the perfect scenario in mind. He planned to paint a picture of a forest. While it had a lot of detail, and it was possible Jacie wouldn't be able to match the composition of the landscape due to lack of skill...he loved the idea of trying to pain the trees with their leaves and trunks.

Before long, he found a perfect spot and was off to work. His brush glided over the canvas, carefully trying to map out the perfect forest scene. While it wouldn't be winning any academy awards, it was relaxing to simply let his mind wander as he painted. By the time he was done, it wasn't great...but over the course of a couple classes to touch it up and some pointers he felt like he was at least getting the hang of panting.

Prompt Response:Amie walked around the academy trying to find a place that was particularly inspiring to her. It all seemed pretty cookie cutter, the landscape was all done so uniformly, the buildings constructed to a precise plan, she needed to find something with some chaos. That was when she remembered the woods that students were strictly forbidden to go without adult supervision. That was perfect, she knew she might get in trouble for goin in there but what was life without a little chaos now and then?

She didn't go too far into the woods, far enough to not be seen but not far enough to get lost in her surroundings. She found a particular creepy tree cluster and smiled. It was perfect the way its branches wound around the surrounding plant life. Like it was draining it's very energy. It took her all day to complete her painting but when it was done she took a step back and was truly proud.

Prompt Response: Yaara had debated on location and medium she wanted to use. After some pondering, she settled on painting in the courtyard, using acrylics, figuring there to be seating around the courtyard and acrylic paint being pretty easy to work with. She was wanting to play with the stone and bricks and greenery present in the courtyard for her landscape subject. After finding a nice semi shaded spot to sit, she got the small oval canvas she picked settled in the lap easel and gradually worked away at her painting. Kind of wanting to experiment, the Sluagh painted the forms, lights, and shadows simply, waited for it to dry some, and then went in with a very fine brush to use pointillism and gentle curving lines to subtly fill in the detailing of the more basic shapes. It took forever, but, when she was finally satisfied with her efforts, packed everything up and went to turn in her work.
