        Tap. Tap. Tap!

"Welcome, denziens of Below! I know many of you would much rather be enjoying your Hunter's Jubilee festivities, so we would like to take a moment to thank you all for your time today. For those of you present, I admire your curiosity and sense of discovery. It warms my heart to see such eager faces among the crowd ... "

The welcome speech went on for quite some time, the speaker seemingly in love with the sound of their own cadence as they addressed the people sitting in front of the stage. It seemed his voice matched his vibrant colours and rather lavish appearance. It was as if the speaker was nearly sparkling with enthusiasm and passion as he spoke to the room.

Behind the man there was a small table set up behind the petite cherub, a cloth draped over its surface with water glasses gently resting ontop and microphones at each seat. Sitting at the table was another cherub, though they were far darker in coloration. Their ears were down turned instead of pointing skyward like the other cherub's, and his attire, while still regal, was far more understated. Beside the darker cherub was an empty seat -- presumably the speech giver's chair -- and next to that seat sat the Sluagh, quiet and observing, lanky arms resting on top of the table, oversized hands knitted neatly together, their ears seeming to respond far more to the cherub's words than his own facial expression.

"Now, with our gratitude fully expressed -- " it seemed finally the cherub's speech was coming to an end. "I would like to introduce myself to you all. I am Icarus -- I am a Solar Cheurb. I am the head of my people and sit at the top of the Tempest Court." He gestured to the darker cherubs with the more angular feathers. "This is my companion, Daedalus. He is a Lunar Cherub. He shares the same position as I do for his people on the Tempest Court." Then, Icarus gestured to the Sluagh. "And last but certainly not least, I'd like to introduce Cillian! He is our Sluagh representative, and is here on behalf of the Inner Circle."

Icarus turned to address the crowd once more, placing both hands on the microphone. "We know you must have many questions for us. We're happy to oblige and answer all that we can about our people and culture. All we ask is that you step up to the microphone in front of the stage and let us know who you're addressing your question to. We shall do our best to answer all your questions! And with that, let us begin~!"

The solar cherub gave a small bow, a sweep of his cloak before turning to return to his seat as a volunteer rushed out to remove the extra microphone from the stage.

Icarus settled in to his spot between the lunar cherub and the sluagh before taking a small sip of water. He was excited and eager to hear what questions might be posed.

"We are ready for our first question!"

        What to do:

It's time to begin our Q&A session! Please quote Embi-lamb for Icarus, nepsah for Cillian, and Cerl Temius for Daedalus! This will ensure all questions asked are getting answered as swiftly as possible!

Each day, you will be allowed to roll 1 10-sided die. Keep track of your score! We will not keep track of your score for you! At the end of the mini-event, the 1st and 2nd highest scores will get a special prize!

You are allowed to have two of your NMs/DDs present for this Q&A! With the Hunter's Jubilee festival currently ongoing, it means that there are not just students of the academy present. This means the auditorium will fill to maximum capacity quite quickly, so to ensure safety regulations are being met anyone using more than two NMs/DDs will be asked to choose between their characters on the first offense. Second time around your rolls will be disqualified and we'll ask you to remove yourself from the event.

Florence stood up as tall as he could and waved a hand. At a nod from the solar cherub he cleared his throat and asked his question.

"Are cherubs related to the Fey at all?" While he himself was a hybrid of Daydream races, he'd been awakened in Below and that was where most of his knowledge lay. He wondered if his parents knew anything about these two new races.

As soon as Topaz heard the news about the open Q&A she knew she had to be there. Thankfully there was still enough room and she squeezed herself into the crowd in time to catch most of the Cherub's speech. She waited for an open moment, hand raised into the air, and felt excited when she was given indication to speak.

"I hope you'll pardon my forwardness sir, but why do the Sluagh have such large hands?" Topaz had never seen a hand that big. Usually an unusual body part was the adaptive result of a particular environment, but there were always exceptions. She was very curious.

Aah! Most excellent! A general inquiry!

A small, pretty smile spread across Icarus' lips as he leaned closer towards the mic. The first question was an interesting one, and not one he had expected. It was rather thrilling not knowing what questions might be asked next.

"An excellent start! While the fey are beautiful creatures, the Cherubs sadly are not related.Though ... " Icarus leaned one elbow forward on the table, putting the feathery plumage around his wrist on display. " ... I will say that I quite admire the fey! And I'd like to think us cherubs have a thing or two in common with them!"

Icarus' smile widened a little, his grin friendly and welcoming. Icarus rested his forearms daintly on the table's surface, his head tilting gently to one side, curiosity dancing in his eyes. "What is your name, young one?"

"Florence," he responded, smiling brightly. "I've never heard of another race besides Fey that are solar and lunar." He looked over Icarus and Daedalus. As far as he could tell their feathering was a bit different, but was that because of their natures or just something that happened? But another question was a bit more pressing.

"My mama is a Dryad so I don't have a flower, but dad says Fey need sunlight or moonlight according to their nature or else they'll get sick. Are Cherubs like that?"

User Image had gone to the auditorium with her brother. They figured it would be a good excuse later. The only problem was that as siblings they had similar questions. Plus Florence was way more outgoing than herself. Every time she worked her nerve up to ask a question, nerves took over and she sat back down.

This wouldn't do. She was part of the people representing below, representing the academy even if she was a hybrid of two above species. Taking another deep breath she approached the table like her brother and raised her hand. Since her brother was engaged with Icarus and a baphomet lady was with Cillian, she turned towards... Daedalus.

"I was wondering if you could tell me the relationship/ connection between cherub and sluagh. Are they like the fey and dryad where one took the other in or just allies or something completely different?" Fiore hesitantly asked the lunar cherub.

Two new races! New faces from new places. Chaeshia was absolutely fascinated by the trio here today, especially given that her father had recently acquired a soulstone from most mysterious origins... and the child that had been borne forth certainly had long, flicking ears much like the stoic-looking... Sluagh. Sloo-aah. What a strange name! But a pleasing one nonetheless– and what her baby sister was!

"Excuse me, Cillian, Sir. Many races have special needs, diets, or vulnerabilities that should be taken into account when it comes to raising or partnership. Are there any specific cares that need to be taken when either as a Sluagh grows up, or throughout life?"

User Image As loathe as Styx was to be in spaces that promised to be crowded, the Naiad couldn't stand the thought of waiting. Not when two new races were revealing themselves Below... what a fascinating turn of events! How... how wow. How cool was this? Styx was a little caught for words, but at the notion of possibly having to wait through dozens of inane questions, she put one hand high into the air, and waited to be called on.

"Do your people have any favoured familiars?" she asked, once her turn was given. No, wait. Was that a good question? She'd been put on the spot and almost felt as if she had wasted the opportunity.

Melogene Nightshade

Melogene hurried through the crowd, ducking and weaving around arms and legs of those less mindful individuals. Occasionally, when she found no point of entry, she would ghost through a pair of legs and then reappear with a flash between another, much to their owner's alarm. As soon as they even cried out however, she was gone, cropping up some five or ten feet deeper into the crowd. A few kindly and attentive nightmares called out to her as she rushed past, asking if she needed help, or wanted a lift but Melogene always responded the same way: she would be fine, she knew what she was doing, but thank you very much for the offer! Then she vanished into the crowd once more.

When she deemed herself close enough to the stage (and more importantly, the guests standing on it), Melogene made her move. Her eyes closed for but a moment of concentration. The air seemed to vibrate around her. She disappeared. In the same instant, there was a sound like a cork popping and a weight descended over the shoulders of a baphomet. Perched with her hands clinging to a set of horns, Melogene smiled down at the pretty golden nightmare that was temporarily serving as her roost.

“Hello and nice to meet you!” she said, beaming. Not all of Melogene's introductions involved her riding a stranger's shoulders, but it was far from unusual. She continued, “I think that's a great question!”

Before the baphomet could respond, Melogene leaned forward (sprawling further across the nightmare's head) and raised her right hand as high as it would go, while her left clung to the horn. She did not wait to be called on.

“Are they for digging?” she asked breathlessly to the sluagh. “Can you break through rock with your fists? Do you eat rocks? And what about your markings? Do you glow in the dark?” Already she had some strange, fantastical notions going through her head.

Jet Jaeger

Notebook and pen in hand, Jet wormed his way over to the mic, squeezing through the surrounding nightmares. The audience had not been shy in asking questions, and he would need to fight to make sure his were heard. Especially if the initial round of questioning painted the tone for the rest of the evening. Sure, knowing their dietary habits and their evolutionary lineage were fun facts that could be useful on a game show for trivia dweebs, but this was the real world, and there were more pressing matters.

Shaking his head as a naiad asked about familiars of all things, Jet tried to avoid looking too disdainful. Thankfully he had the practised charm of a salesman, and gave the naiad a friendly grin and a clap on the shoulder as she retreated from the microphone. “Good job,” he mentally congratulated her. “You opened your mouth and formed a coherent sentence. Now get out of the way,” Despite his smile, there was a brusqueness in his body language as he brushed past.

Standing before the microphone, Jet leaned in and cleared his throat. He made eye contact with each of the three representatives. “I have a question for all of you,” he said, tugging at his shirt collar. “How would you describe your current political stance and affiliations? What are your plans for assimilation if you have any?”

The pen nib tensed across the notebook, ready to spring to life and record their every word.

User Image Eisetsu looked at the creatures she had never seen before and she was filled with curiosity then again she wanted to know about everything she could. So this was no different, she had a burning desire to learn.

"I would like to direct my question at the Cherubs, the solar and lunar fey are suited to their element, are cherubs too?? As a solar or lunar cherub are you able to do things better in the day or night?? For example, can a solar cherub see better during the day than a lunar cherub??"

Icarus had taken forever to do his opening speech, as Cillian knew he would. They really should have let Daedalus handle the opening. The Lunar Cherub would have been far more to the point. Still, he listened intently to every word, every offer, every potential promise that Icarus had made. As instructed, he was here to observe, and then take the stones back to Elysium. The Sluagh had been in a small uproar since the reveal had made its way to their homeland. Sluagh stones in Below. Sluagh stones, in Below. They had never left Above! Clearly they were stolen. Cillian was merely here to go through the motions of potential reunitement with the world. Let Icarus and Daedalus go through their own motions. Making such a show of it was not a good idea.

His ears flicked to the Baphomet - Topaz - before his eyes slid to make contact. He blinked slowly, expression remaining cool, blank, despite the rudeness of it. "Why do-" He paused, eyes narrowing just the slightest as he attempted to recall exactly what she was- "-Baphomet have hooves?" Where Icarus's voice was high and cheerful, Cillian's sat far lower on the tonal range. "It does not matter. You have what you have, and we have what we have." A non-answer, but perfectly in line with standard Sluagh practice. What was not necessary to reveal should not be revealed.

His ears flicked again to the next question from Chaesh- a... Kumiho, yes. Fellow native of Above, and another member of a race that had until earlier in the year, disappeared. News of their reemergence had spread even to Elysium. "Your question assumes we are here to remain." He might as well start with that statement. Icarus had not made it clear that no decision was made on whether they'd stick around or go back into hiding. "A Sluagh is best raised by Sluagh. That is the only thing that matters."

Another flick of his ears to Jet before he'd even glanced in the Nightmare's direction. The brightly colored fellow had finally asked a worthy question. "The Sluagh are allies with the Cherubs and no others. We have no plans for assimilation at this time, we are not hurting for assistance like others have in the past that forced their hand into assimilation. Our Soulstones were taken illegally and placed in Below, a place no Sluagh has ever been before." His eyes slid to Icarus as he mentioned the stones. It was before both of their times, clearly, but it had been a source of a near argument the night of the reveal. Stolen Sluagh stones, and the only culprits to be found were their allies, the Cherubs.

His attention was drawn away once more to... an Elf. His eyes narrowed at Elfleda, blank expression faltering into a sort of grimace for a split second before he managed to get it under control. His ears, however, quickly pinned back against his head. "We are not unlike other races. We have similar pastimes." Another non-answer.

User Image Ledie smiled brightly at Cillian. She didn't really understand the mannerisms of the Sluagh people so she didn't understand that he might be upset just by her being the race she was. She looked at the cherubs and the sluagh wondering what other questions she could ask. Maybe she could ask Cillian what his favorite color was. Or maybe what his favorite food was. Or maybe if he liked candy!! She could get him a bag of candy!! Or a plushie!! Or a familiar!! It would be great!! Ledie bounced up and down as excited ideas filled her head, she was waiting though for others to ask questions since she had just asked one.

Somehow in the midst of all those questions he'd managed to forget to answer Melogene. The Nightmare hybrid's questions were... rude, too, but children tended to be rude. He could overlook it. "No, we do not eat rocks. We do not glow." He shook his head slightly, ears slowly moving back up into an attentive position. "Our anatomy has been useful for cave tunneling and craftsmanship." He supposed that was vague enough to suffice. They'd been in the caves in the Undercity long enough to classify themselves as cave dwellers, anyway.
