Eyes: Dark red. Does have slightly hooded eyes, and wears glasses. Hair: Shaved on one side, layered and combed to his right, very slightly wavy. Light grassy green that shifts to brown at the tips. Not longer than to the top of his shoulder. Face: A bit of a long face. Long, straight nose. Eyebrows on the thicker side. Full lips. Skin Tone: Very dark, deep warm brown. Body Type: Nat stands at 5'11" tall and should be notably (though not overly; think like... any of those superhero movie actors) muscled from regimented and meticulous physical upkeep. Clothes: He's really into those kind of dumb ring-scarf deals (infinity scarf?) with the little frayed bits of string hanging off the edges. Generally wears dark clothes with pops of color. He is a tiny little bit of a fashionista, but is a little too ashamed to go full bold. Has a piercing in the bottom left of his lip, two in left ear, and a Prince Albert.

Belt -- Yep. Simple brown leather with goldish clasp. Shoes -- Boots. Kind of vaguely steam-punky? Shoulders -- The gold rope/belt thing is teeeechnically supposed to cross his chest and go over his shoulder, but Nat thinks it's restrictive and doesn't wear it like that. Artist can have it up or down as desired. Accessories -- All the buttons/clasps are colored yellow-gold after his mineral. Also needs to keep his glasses and piercings from civ side!

Motivations ▼
Beneath his disaffected demeanor, Nataniel is actually a very spiteful man, both toward others and their perception of him (he has been told that he is 'not right' mentally), and a bit toward himself for causing that negative perception. As a civilian, Nat had several run-ins with chaos: he was drained by an agent, chased by a youma, berated by an alien space-plant, lied to about identities, obviously, and even though he didn't know about Order at the time of any of these events, he is bitter about it now. He needed help in the face of these supernatural, paranormal events, and... it didn't come. He had to rely on himself or the virtue of other chaos powers (never Order) to keep him safe from these forces he had no hope of overpowering. He assumes it is because he is 'not right' in that he is not a sheep to unnecessary moral platitudes for why Order chose not to come to him.
This suits him fine, as Nataniel prefers to make choices rather than have a decision thrust upon him with no time to consider it. And when he makes a choice, he is committed to it. Nat had the better part of two months to mull over whether or not the powers of chaos were suited to him and decide if the benefits were worth the costs.
In the end, they were. Easily.
Death is inescapable. Nataniel doesn't understand why people fear it and struggle to avoid it. There are a great variety of things about life he doesn't enjoy, coupled with the fact that it always inevitably comes to an end lead him to typically value life and the worth of any single individual quite lowly. He has absolutely zero qualms with pulling starseeds if that is what it takes to fuel his abilities that enable him to face off against other supernatural threats and skirt the danger of youma entirely.
He has almost no conscious of guilt and can hardly fathom why anyone does. Death is natural, and he hardly believes the Space Cauldron is in short supply of starseeds. Why does it matter if a few are crushed for energy or are turned into youma? Pain and suffering are byproducts of growth, and he is not above inflicting it upon others to incite gain for himself.
Not when it feels like chaos accepts him in his 'not right'edness, and he is passionately in support of anything that accepts him.

Internet: As a general rule, Nataniel spends several hours a day on the internet for just about every purpose he needs. Order food? Internet. Favorite game (he loves Overwatch, Minecraft, Elder Scrolls, ect)? Internet. Need money? Internet. He is a passable tutor in many subjects, nothing too specialized, but he did take many courses he didn't necessarily need during his college tenure and is willing to let you pay him for his services. And though his primary job is at the hospital, he is not opposed to working side-jobs helping cafeterias and gyms propose meal plans, most of which he handles through, you guessed it, the internet. His combined interest in gambling and above-average intelligence have also made him interested in the stock market. He's an amateur, but does his best to research appropriately. He needs all the spare cash can get, since online impulse-buying is his greatest financial weakness.
Chinchilla: He has had a pet chinchilla named Dusk that is the light of his life, sun in the sky, precious princess, tiny angel, spoiled rotten rodent, since he was ten years old. In lieu of actual human friends, he has Dusk, who he brings most places he thinks she will go unnoticed. Nat spends an exorbitant amount of time cooing over her and fulfilling all the needs a chinchilla could possibly have. His phone and computer are full of pictures of her. Though he is entirely disinterested in Facebook and Twitter, every now and then he posts pictures of Dusk there, so that his parents know he's alive. He considers her his 'first pet' due to having responsibility over her more so than the family dog, though she is getting up in years now...
Presentation: Though Nat is not outgoing, he has a sort of anxiety about how he presents himself to others, and as such, works very hard to look "good," both in the style department and in the physical upkeep department. He has a morning workout routine that can mostly be completed from his room, no machines required! But it also involves jogging at dawn. Thankfully, he has Dusk to motivate him. Otherwise, he spends almost all his extra money on impulse-buying clothes off the internet, which he "shouldn't have done, because he knows better, damn it. Why does he do this every time. It doesn't look good on him, anyway. What a waste. He shouldn't have done this."
Virtues ▼
Meticulous: Nat isn't a half-assed kind of guy. If he is interested in something or likes something, he commits to it without question or hesitation and wants it done right and with his full attention and care. A lot of research went into chinchilla care and perfect ab-sculpting (oh, and school, obviously), and frankly, both are more work than fun, but Nat made that decision to go at it for all he's worth, and that's not something he can change lightly. Honesty plays a bit of a role in this as far as deep interpersonal relationships are concerned. He won't lie period to someone who is important to him, but if he doesn't feel any kind of bond or commitment toward someone, he will just say what comes naturally, truth or otherwise.
Intelligent: Though Nataniel is not the most motivated in regards to many of life's adventures, he does have a certain degree of intelligence that has allowed him to persevere this far in regards to his schooling. It should be noted that he is taking classes because it is routine to be in school, and has no real goal in mind, but his excellent memory and above average problem-solving and critical-thinking skills have propelled him forward despite this. He isn't in the habit of losing those writing contests, you know.

Flaws ▼
Defeatist: Nataniel has never felt that he was quite good enough. Good enough for what, you may ask. Well, it doesn't matter. Anything. Everything. He is just someone who can't be content with his 'best effort' in any area of his life. Feelings like: "he is a vegetarian because he dislikes the idea of something dying just because he wanted to eat it, without any other energy expended on his part. But the effort he's gone to to make that happen doesn't really mean anything, and doesn't really have an impact on anything else's life," and "though he may be a decent player in his online games, his teammates don't really need to rely on him and could just as easily continue on if he weren't around." Nat simply doesn't feel as though he is the best version of himself, and even though he tries to change that, it doesn't reflect on his mood. Somehow both compliments (he does try and look good!) and insults make him feel worse, as though he's being lied to (complimented) or outright chastised (insulted).
Reclusive: That passive certainty in his worthlessness and the meaninglessness of life has led Nat to have a disinterest in social functions, including those with his family, who he believes secretly judge and ridicule him. He tends to avoid face-to-face interaction with humans as much as possible by ordering pet care supplies, clothes, and food online, jogging early in the morning, and limiting most actively social interactions to the computer. The niceties of interpersonal relationships aren't worth the effort, and he is extremely unwilling to pretend they are. He does have a job that requires some face to face interaction, but he is looking forward to when he will have his own office to hide in when he needs a break. Despite being generally unsociable, he isn't shy! He isn't a blusher, stammerer, or stutterer and is capable of carrying on a conversation, but it is a little of a strain on him and not something he does for enjoyment. He has a very minimal set of feelings, particularly empathy, and tends to come off quite flat.

• Nataniel's mother, Mikali was born in Chennai, India and speaks Hindi as her native language. Because English is her second language, she has always tried to enunciate each word very clearly, particularly when her sons were very young and learning English themselves. Thanks to her specific way of speaking, Nataniel only very rarely uses contractions, as he also speaks quite clearly and with purpose. He is bilingual himself, having learned Hindi from his mother. • His accent comes out significantly more when he is feeling heightened emotions. It is especially apparent during lovemaking and gaming. If there is unintelligible Hindi over coms, it's probably Nat. • His parents were winter vacation people. Rather than taking long summer trips, they typically took shorter winter trips up into the mountains. Nataniel can ski a black diamond slope, as well as perform simple jumps like the toe loop jump while ice skating. • He loves card games like poker, cheat, blitz, and shanghai. While not a day to day habit, Nataniel is a betting man and can be coerced into games with the right motivation. Be warned, he is a tiny bit of a sore loser, particularly when alcohol is involved... • Nataniel is technically of the Hindu faith (Shaivism branch), thanks to his mother. Though he is not an avid practitioner of any religion, people are welcome to engage him in discussion about his moral upbringing in regards to this! It is part of the reason he is a vegetarian. His mother doesn't eat beef. • Piano lessons were something Nataniel partook in during his preteen years while his parents tried to discern where his talents lay or what activities he might enjoy. Nat is far from perfect at it, as he doesn't practice often, but he can successfully string together a decent song and had lessons such that he can recognize notes and what they mean as well as successfully read sheet music. • Nataniel goes out to bars to drink once a week in order to gain the confidence to pursue certain physical needs. He is very indifferent, flat, and cold while sober, but he is much more laid back when drunk, openly touching, showing interest, and flirting in a casual way. He can be more easily tempted or tricked into doing even activities he hates and is quietly affectionate with anyone he has the slightest relationship to. • He lost his virginity at 15 to a 17-year-old girl who admitted while sleeping with him that she didn't particularly like him and was only there to prove that she could be, since it always felt like he thought he was better than everyone else. It left a bitter taste in Nat's mouth and a sense of inadequacy (likely due to what she relayed to her friends, who relayed to their friends and so on, about the encounter) that made him wary of females in particular and relationships in general. He struggles to go so far as to call someone a 'friend,' and during nights he goes out to the bar, Nat makes it a priority to stray away from people he has had encounters with before. People he sleeps with are not his friends. They are not romantic. He does not even want to see them again. His conquests are stress relief and meeting a physical need. Little else. • When Nat considers someone a 'friend,' it is practically an open admittance of his trust. People outside of this circle may as well be nothing, but people he has bonded with close enough to consider a friend have his unyielding loyalty. This does not necessarily equate to kindness, but he shows affection in his own ways.

Civilian Life ▼
Mikali Khellasati spent the entirety of her childhood and into her adulthood as the only child from a relatively wealthy family living in a relatively wealthy city. Her parents were almost ridiculously strict, with high expectations and very little patience for failure to meet those expectations. Mikali was well-learned, with a bit of a tempestuous nature, and was not fond of nonsense. When she wanted to continue her studies out of Chennai and across the ocean to America, no expense was spared.
Ambrose Evans was a doofus.
It was as plain and simple as that. While Mikali attended university in Baltimore, she had the poor fortune of meeting a man who was just intriguing enough to capture her heart forever. He was by no means as intelligent as she was, but he was fun and encouraging where she had previously only been accustomed to strict and unapproachable in the people she met. Ambrose is still something of a sore spot for her parents to deal with, and though they threatened repeatedly to cut off their support, they never did, and Mikali's divergence from their plan for her future is something they have grown to live with.
In the presence of her own success, Mikali hardly held a grudge for her parents' contemptuousness. While Ambrose possesses no college experience to speak of, Mikali has a Doctoral degree in Economics and heads her own business in the concrete industry. While Ambrose initially practiced as a mechanic, he now serves as co-owner and manager to his wife's company.
And also the primary caregiver for their children.
Mikali made him wait ages before they moved to Virginia, married (she managed to convince Ambrose to take her last name with only minimal difficulty), and had a child, Nataniel.
Nataniel was an absurdly spoiled child. His mother's financial success, coupled with her desire to be less oppressive than her parents, as well as Ambrose's typically fun and encouraging ways gave Nat a lot of leeway with which to develop his own path and blossom into his own person, which is... actually quite a bit like his mother, though both Nataniel and Mikali are oblivious to this despite Ambrose's attempts to get them to see reason. For the first eight years of his life, Nat had an almost unbreakable bond with his parents.
Then Mikali became pregnant again, and it was Nataniel's first experience with feeling so ridiculously shunned that he essentially holed up and closed himself off from everything. The first phase of him realizing how devastating such tight-knit bonds could be. Nat hated Ellian, still hates Ellian to this day, and it is a rare occurrence that Nat spends any quality time with his family.
Nat's strong will clashes with his mother's frequently. They both believe they are the smartest person in the room and see little need to compromise with each other, a feeling exaggerated ten-fold now that Nat is not directly under his parents' thumbs, and is instead in college and living mostly on his own.
