If it were up to him, Nataniel would be at home.
As far as he understood it, there was no reason not to be. It offered seclusion, quiet, a place he was in control of. There was the minutest of chances that his roommate would come home unexpectedly, and- Maybe Nat actually didn't understand it all that well, because he couldn't be sure of what would happen, then. Irrelevant, he supposed, though he couldn't help but wonder...
It still wasn't his preference to be out at this hour. Late, after the sky had darkened. It was true that there weren't invasive passerby on the street, but he was a very early riser, and anytime after 9PM tended to put him in just the faintest beginnings of a foul mood.
And so it had.
Nataniel leaned back against the park bench he sat on, glowering down at the lit screen of his phone and the text messages he'd exchanged with Wolframite some hours earlier. Tonight, he'd said. After dusk, he'd said. And Nat, having little capability to argue in this situation, had simply had to agree, despite how it soured his sleep schedule. He hedged to the side, just a fraction, enough to brush his shoulder against his companion. Fettelite, at least, had never seemed to mind a late hour and was far more opposed to the morning than Nat found reasonable.
Still, it wasn't like Nataniel could meet Wolframite, and Wolframite's special general friend, without Fettelite being close to him. Since it was only for him after all, that Nat would consider giving away his free will to the powers of darkness.
Or whatever.
After another quick warning text of 'Hurry up,' Nataniel switched off his phone and stuck it in the deep pocket of his over vest. "Such a tedious process," he rumbled softly, now shifting his weight to lean more fully against Fettelite.

"... Are you sure you want to do this...? You don't have to.." Fettelite couldn't stop fidgeting, tugging at the edge of his vest as he stood close to his friend. Enough time had passed between their agreement with Wolframite that the time had come for the actual corruption part.
He hated this... Every single cell in his body screamed Don't do it! at the idea of someone so important to him as Nataniel was joining the Negaverse. Time and time again he said how dangerous this was, how he could end up with someone like his own General... Nat wasn't like him, he wouldn't accept what happened to him as natural, would he?
There was such a huge risk of just... Losing his closest friend... And he hated it.
"We could just... Go home... And maybe do something else.." Like move. Like escape while he still could. "... I'll be okay even if you don't do this..."

There was no noise as Wolframite suddenly appeared. Since last Nat had seen him, the half-youma now was in a different uniform. Standing there was if he didn't just materialize, he held up his phone. "Could you be any more impatient?" He said as he made his way over to them.
"Everything is set up. Follow me to meet the general. We don't want any senshi sensing us and interrupting this. We don't need more youma." He said as he gestured with a wave of his claw for them to follow.
"Fettelite, I hope you can at least help in giving your boyfriend some protection during this. We can't have this process interrupted."
Handing a starseed and n any way was no laughing matter and if some overzealous senshi showed up and hurt Nat or the general, it could hurt either if them in the process. They needed a place away from the busy areas where this could be done. Despite everything, he felt a anxious nervousness.
Then he considered something. "Also good evening." Probably should have started with that.

Nataniel's lashes slipped shut as he sighed quietly. December was... a bit of a moron, really, if he thought there was an option to simply 'go home' here and now. Even if such an alternative was available, Nat couldn't fathom taking it. He'd had the luxury of the opportunity to consider his path before making this choice, and it wasn't one he thought he'd been wrong about. Even if he didn't trust Wolframite as far as he could throw him, he couldn't leave this idiot child to fend for himself.
"Please think before you speak," Nataniel murmured quietly. "If you have no actual realistic plan to back up your sentiment, there's no use considering it as an option. Besides." He straightened, pulling himself from leaning against Fettelite. "I do not share your concerns."
And then Wolframite was before them in little more than a blink. Nataniel stood from the bench, and moved to trail after the half youma. "'Impatience' is not what I would call it," he retorted. "I simply have expectations that our date be kept in a timely manner, and I find it difficult to believe that you had other plans which may have kept you over." Certainly none Nat cared about more than his own schedule.
There was only a flicker of protest in his mind at the word 'boyfriend,' but as it was hardly relevant to the rest of the proceedings, Nataniel decided not to comment that December wasn't his boyfriend. He wasn't a child who used such juvenile words.
They headed for the treeline and the cover it provided, and Nat had a very 'redneck horror movie sacrifice vibe' from the proceedings. "Would you and your general be incapable of handling any interruptions?"

Fettelite stood when Nataniel did, staying close, the scolding keeping his mouth glued shut.
He was right though, there was no real backing up any plan he could have thought up, and it was too late, Wolframite was already there.
The word 'boyfriend' went right in one ear and out the other as it wasn't something he was thinking about at all. He was only here as a witness after all, and perhaps a little bit of support once the pain came.
Part of him feared whichever general that came up to help them... The very thought that it could be his own made him tremble in fear, but still, he bit his lip, reaching out gently to take Nat's sleeve to keep up with their stride.

"Inside of your body is a item called a starseed. A crystal in appearance. Everytime you die, your starseed goes to the space cauldron and are reborn. If that starseed is destroyed, you cease to ever exist. This very object is what makes a person a senshi or a corrupted senshi, a knight or a Negaverse officer, or a dark mirror senshi. Negaverse officers have the unique ability of being able to reach into someone and removing this. But it is also how we make an officer. To be on any side, you need to tap into their power. Ours is Chaos and to do that, your starseed needs Chaos put into it directly. A general is capable of this without passing out, and can maintain the focus and control to do this task. During this time, the general and you will be unable to do much should a attack happen. This is a delicate process as it is handling the essence of your being."
His focus rolled over to look at Nat. "Too much could make you a half or full youma, like I am. We wouldn't want that to happen."
His attention went back to the path. "I'll explain more about starseeds later. For now, just don't give any lip to our superior once they arrive."
Once in a small opening in the woods, Wolframite indicated for them to stop. There he summoned a metal rod which had a purple crystal atop it. There, he opened it into a purple tablet and called the General. "General Cavansite. This is Captain Wolframite We are in position and awaiting your arrival."

Cavansite had been waiting for the call from Wolframite and when she received it, she smiled. Finally. Everything was ready and it was time to bring in someone new. It took her less than a minute to teleport to the area and as she looked around, she smiled warmly at Wolframite and raised her eyebrows at the lieutenant who seemed to almost be clinging to the lone civilian in the group, but with a nod of her head she did try to put the boy at ease.
“Hello all. I am General Cavansite. I obviously already have the pleasure of knowing Captain Wolframite here, and he has said that you,” Her eyes fell on Nat and she gave another nod of acknowledgement. “Were wanting to give yourself to our cause. He said that you were worthy of the power and I’m here in order to help bestow that power on you.”
Taking a few steps closer to the tall man, Cavansite reached out and laid a hand against his chest, hesitating and remembering what had happened when she tried to awaken the twins. “There will be pain. More so if it turns out that you’re not actually meant to be an officer, but I will do my best to make it as painless as possible. Regardless, you will report first to me, and then to Captain Wolframite here. He will be a great mentor for you, and I will oversee your journey.” She let her gaze wonder to the Captain, and then to the Lieutenant who looked…more than a little terrified.
“…Any questions from any of you, or shall we get on with this?”

"I know the process," Nataniel stated as Wolframite delved into the topic of starseeds. The 'how' of what they were about to do would've been a foolish thing to overlook up to this point, and Nat had December, of course, to at least attempt to explain to him anything Nataniel might think to ask. It helped that he had the distinct memory of his first encounter with dog boy, wherein Wolframite had physically accosted him and threatened his starseed then. Though Nat didn't recall the word starseed being used at that time.
He had to wonder, though, why anyone who knew anything about this even bothered to care whether or not they died, if it only meant being reborn. Nataniel could barely justify wanting to live another life beyond this one at all. Wouldn't an end simply be easier? His dark gaze flicked briefly over his shoulder to the snowy-haired boy behind him. ...Why did December care if anyone lived or died?
"You consider a blunt curiosity and intrigue to be 'giving lip,' when you should be grateful I am not someone so foolish to want to dive in unprepared. Sir," Nataniel muttered stiffly, folding his arms as he waited impatiently.
At least it wasn't a long wait.
Still, Nataniel was almost surprised when a woman appeared. It wasn't that he'd given literally any consideration to the thought that the Negaverse was practically a boy's club, but at her arrival, it was hard not to realize that every single time he'd met an agent of chaos, it had been a man... He flushed, and his weight shifted uneasily back toward Fettelite. There were at least a dozen retorts he could conceive of saying to her. He wasn't interested in giving himself to anything. He didn't need to be looked after by her and Wolframite as though he were a child. 'Pain' seemed like an unnecessary warning because did it matter? It wasn't as though he could say 'nevermind, then' and leave. Stop touching me. His gaze flicked down sharply to her hand on his chest before darting back up.
But in the moment, none of those concerns quite managed to make it to his lips, and instead, all that came out was a noncommittal, "Mhm."
Quote: Lol, Nat has literally never had an RP with a girl, so I have never had a chance for him to remember that he's stupidly awkward.

It was hard to keep his eyes focused anywhere for too long. It was clear that out of everyone here, he was the most anxious.. And when Cavansite arrived, his eyes grew wide.
"M-ma'am!" A quick salute was given to her, but he didn't leave Nat's side right away. No, he waited, leaning in to shakily whisper to him a few words. "When this is done, I'll take you back home, okay...? I... I'll be sure to stay here right by your side, okay, Nataniel? I'm right here."
He honestly doubted that his words brought any sort of comfort to the man. After all, Nat had said time and time again that he was doing this to protect him so.. he had no reason to protest and think his paltry promises meant anything at all... But he would keep them.

He had already told Cavansite of the expected time and was glad to see her timely arrival. He'd have to thank her somehow for the service regardless of this being one of her duties. As far as Generals went, she was one of the kind and more understanding lot it seemed, as far as he could tell at least. Despite Mali's dislike of her, she did not seem hard or demanding on them.
"General. Thank you again for coming. I'll stand watch during the corruption." He informed her, giving a curt bow of his head to show respect.
He turned, leaving them space by a few feet and looked on, watching them while he listened for any unusual sounds or energy signatures.
December stayed close by, but he hadn't expected him to back off anyways. He could pick Nat up in case the corruption was too rough on him. They would have no plans after this aside from rest. Right now, he just wanted to deal to be done.
Nat seemed, despite questioning everything, strangely quiet in front of the general. He took it that maybe he didn't want to cause more troubles for December by acting up but he appeared almost too quiet and stiff.
Weird.

It was cute the way the lieutenant clung to the new recruit. Cute and a little annoying, and just a little worrisome. Cavansite made a mental note to ask Wolframite who the lieutenant was. If he was having difficulties, well. Perhaps she would have to have a follow up with him to make sure everything was well.
With that thought, her eyes strayed to Wolframite for a moment and she gave a smile. He was going to go far, she could tell. But, finally she focused back on Nat, watching him with a curious eye. “Well, I’m going to take that as an assent, so I’ll continue. I’ve done this often so there is no need to fear, I assure you.”
Crossing over to stop right in front of the bespectacled young man, Cavansite placed a hand on his chest, her eyes now focused solely on him, pushing all other thoughts from her mind. “The pain will pass quickly, and then you will feel all the power that comes with your new position in life. I trust you will use it well.”
She let her fingers slid into his chest and wrap around his starseed, carefully focusing and beginning to fill the small crystal with chaos, not enough to overflow it, but enough to change him into a brand new lieutenant of the Negaverse. There was the pain she promised, and then the power that she promised too. “Welcome, Rakovanite. The Negaverse is happy to have you.

He did not trust anyone here.
Wolframite was too emotional to be reasonable, December was too stupid to be useful, and Cavansite was an unpredictable unknown with that unfortunate blend of hormonal instability that Nataniel was convinced all women possessed. What a truly treacherous pit of vipers he'd strolled into. It was perhaps understandable why someone else might be anxious in this situation. And to some extent, since he had no means of knowing what to expect of this general, he was.
But that didn't change the goal of this. Not for him or anyone else, Nat expected. So 'unpredictable' mood swings and motivations probably mattered little in this regard.
He sighed softly, dusting a hand down his sleeve to remove December's fingers from him and catching the offending appendage in his grasp. "It will be fine," he muttered by way of reassurance, touching his lips to the tips of December's fingers before releasing them. Because even if it turned out that it wasn't fine, Nat couldn't fathom a reason why that mattered.
His focus slid back to Cavansite, observing her over the rim of his glasses through narrowed deep red eyes. "I do not fear." Not over nothing. Not over what he asked for.
He'd previously had a taste of what it felt like to have his starseed tampered with. Wolframite had already done as much. So Nat had a certain degree of expectation coming into this that was only further justified by repeated warnings: it would hurt. Knowing as much didn't serve as adequate preparation, regardless of how 'scared' he was.
It would never not be strange to have anyone's hand in his chest, and as she pushed chaos into him, Nat's body tensed, teeth gritting against a sensation he had no descriptors for and a low, rolling snarl tearing unrestrained from his throat. His arm snatched at hers, nails biting against the cuff of her uniform sleeve because as much as he said 'it was fine, he didn't fear,' that didn't mean he wanted to simply do nothing while anyone was actively hurting him. But the general's arm retracted after only a few moments, and Rakovanite shoved himself backward, lurching away from her and fumbling to grab at the nearest thing as he staggered.

How strange it was to see something like a corruption happen so... Peacefully. There was no screaming, no blood, no bodies littering the floor.
No smell of smoke or of dead bodies.
Just... Peace, and perhaps it was that very calmness that made Fettelite relax, just a little bit. It seemed like there was no reason to be afraid at all, even when Nataniel stumbled and grabbed onto his arm.
That's what Fettelite was there for, for support, and he wrapped his arm around Rakovanite's waist. And this time, he smiled.
"Are you alright? How are you feeling?"

While December handled Nat, Wolframite moved beside Cavansite should the drain make her unsteady. By her side, he regarded her softly and waited to see if she needed his help.
His attention did go to Nat, who newly transformed was in Fettelite's embrace. A new officer to the ranks, newly linked to Chaos and all it entailed.
"Are you okay?" He asked the general, offering an arm for her to take. "You did well. Thank you."

Cavansite glanced at the captain who was now at her side and gave a nod. “Yes, Wolframite, I’m fine, thank you. I would appreciate if you could report to me after you’ve gotten him settled? I want to speak with you about a few things.”
She took the captain’s arm for a moment, steadying herself, though felt quite well. “You will take over his initial training, won’t you? You had said that you wanted to.”
Her eyes slid to the newly made lieutenant and she decided that yes, Wolframite would take this responsibility. He had earned it, after all.
“Rakovanite, you will report to both myself and your captain here, Wolframite will show you the ropes and help you to get fully acclimated with your new role in our organization, but I want to meet with you next week, I want to know how you’re settling in. You’ve made the best decision to join with us, and I’m excited to see just how you grow.”
She drew away from Wolframite now and stretched. “While I’m here…do any of you have any questions?”
