On a typical night, Ny would try to avoid most things that her ComTech registered as Chaos. She had no particular fear of them, but she also had no particular use for them. Their senshi and agents came in various shades of curious or belligerent, and their monsters were exactly that: thoughtless, ravenous, single-minded creatures that seemed like a hindrance to anyone involved with them. She didn't really care what the Negaverse did with their time, so it mostly seemed like a waste of effort to willingly put herself in their path.

Until she did.

She wouldn't have bothered with a youma unless there was something interesting about it. Mostly they were human-shaped with animal bits, and Ny knew rationally that they were just Chaos amalgamations. She shouldn't expect to be able to get anything off of any of them. But this one was... so pretty, and it had seemed interested in her, too. At first. She was mostly muted grays and blues and reds, with the torso of a young woman and the back end of a centipede- or millipede or something similar. Brighter blues and reds flashed intermittently across her carapace, some pattern Ny didn't recognize, but that really felt like it drew her in.

Probably as some plot to steal energy off of her. There was certainly some magic at work. But Ny had already decided that whatever the case was, she would have some of this insect youma's pretty, glistening, flashing scales. Her Fysarius would like them, and he would be curious about where Ny had gotten something so wonderful.

He would like it more after he learned they were from a centipede-millipede thing. Ny didn't know if he'd had much to do with any youma... But he would like these. Ny liked these. Ny wanted these.

The youma woman had been significantly less interested in stalking her after Ny came in a little too hot.

The monster didn't seem capable of putting up much of a fight. She wasn't very fast, and it was easy for Ny to launch herself against the creature's torso, yanking her fully to the ground as her tail end flopped around to try and curl around Ny's frame while she grappled with her arms. The youma was dead silent, even though her expression held sure frustration in it.

It seemed certainly like if her magic couldn't subdue her prey, there was little else for the creature to fight with. And Ny had practically no reservations about crushing the heel of her boot into the joint on one of the monster's many legs and snapping in off, so that she had the crackly end of a few now-rapidly-flashing scales from the youma's carapace. If it seemed a little cruel, Ny just reminded herself that her 'opponent' was practically made of Chaos. It wasn't really alive, and she felt completely confident that any damage would be quickly mended as soon as the monster left Destiny City to head back to the Rift.

It was extremely infrequently that Rakovanite paid any mind to the adventures and expeditions of his personal youma. Devour's presence was a persistent but not very prominent awareness in the back of his thoughts. While she was more intelligent than most, she was still very acutely honed in on her need to gather energy and starseeds, which was not generally of significant interest to Rakovanite. With minimal combat means, Devour was adept at avoiding most confrontation. Occasionally she would snare a weak senshi or knight in her mental web and would demand praise for her successful efforts in eliminating the enemy, which Rakovanite obliged.

But for the most part, she limited her prey to what she could handle without her General's interference. Usually, she was content with what she could gather from civilians, and Rakovanite found that perfectly acceptable. He didn't need to rush to defend her because she stuck her nose too far up the enemy's a** at every opportunity. He appreciated that. She seemed reasonable. Considerate.

At least as much as a youma could be.

Rakovanite was making a typical patrol around his usual route (Mauvian in tow to conceal him, as he also preferred to be perceived as little as possible until he was ready to engage), when a flicker of something off entered his awareness through the youma bond. Nothing immediately unmanageable, just a sense that something wasn't right, something that Devour didn't understand-

And then rapidly on the heels of that, something significantly more serious, more wrong, fight, pain, danger, bad, help, help, help-

It would only be troublesome to Rakovanite if it happened to be a Princess that Devour was faced with, as that seemed to be the only true threat to a youma's life. His beast would've recognized that immediately as something more than just 'off,' so she was probably in no true danger of being dusted, even if she was being hurt... He could ignore it, and maybe she would know to be more cautious next time.

Another little flicker of sensation: the major hurt was physical, but there was also a little jolt from Devour toward her General's callousness. A mental hurt. She adored him. Did her best to please him, eagerly obliged his commands and any wants. He wouldn't come spare her this pain...?

Rakovanite huffed, earning him a gruff sound and a whisker twitch from the Mauvian perched across his shoulder. "What?" Gremlin demanded. "Ain't got nothing to be puffing about. It's a warm, peaceful, quiet night. You should be happy about it, you piece of ungrateful tra-"

"It was," Rakovanite agreed curtly, before flicking away in a little pulse of energy to his youma's side. Their bond hummed with a certain satisfaction, a little radiant warmth that he would come for her when she needed him. And she certainly needed him. Despite Devour's best efforts to escape, a particularly tall and fit, pale green-skinned girl was wrenching one of Devour's legs off with her bare hands.

Ah. The auraless 'civilian' Devour had been hunting was hardly a civilian at all.

An 'ally,' to whatever extent that meant something.

Which was none, at the moment.

Rakovanite surged forward before the girl could even catch a full glimpse of him. He expected she wouldn't be alerted to his presence by his aura, with Gremlin still hiding it, but given a moment to register her surroundings, she would certainly see him. But ally or not, she was attacking one of the Negaverse's youma, impeding Devour's collection goals for the night. His gloved hand wrapped around the girl's throat, and he wrenched her bodily away from Devour's side, lifted her to get her feet out from under her, and slmmed her back-first on the ground.

"What are you doing?" He demanded in a seething hiss.
