Captain Sylvite arranged an ambush against an Order training practice. Everything seems to go off pretty well. Rakovanite helps capture an Order senshi, and he's only mildly inconvenienced by an old injury.

▼ x A Taste x ▼ When Rakovanite had arrived in Negaspace that afternoon, he hadn't intended to be out of his house any longer than just to have his still-aching shoulder tended to. It wasn't a patrol night. He had class the next day and needed to ensure that he was suitably prepared for any surprise examinations that may occur. Given he was in his last semester and partaking in all the higher level classes, 'surprise' tests weren't uncommon at this point. He couldn't afford to slack in his studies, so he hadn't intended to do much by way of his officer duties that evening.
...But everyone knew what became of intentions.
Queen Laurelite had shown up at the Negaverse first aid station, and anything Rakovanite had 'intended' for the night had been immediately dashed. With instruction of the mechanics of teleportation, he'd managed to bring himself from Negaspace and to the city proper. Rationally, Rakovanite knew he should go home. There was an uncomfortable ache in his chest and a tingle in his fingers from the recent upgrade: he knew he should go home to recover from the onslaught of chaos he'd taken that afternoon. But...
He found he didn't want to. It felt like there was electricity in the air. He could practically taste the metallic twinge of static on his tongue. His skin felt bizarrely sensitive, his mind alert. This was a time to test what he'd become.
In all Rakovanite's previous patrols, he'd sensed powered auras as just... hazy grey blobs that exerted just the slightest pressure on his awareness. He'd never been especially talented at telling them apart. Maybe some were 'smokier' and some were 'denser,' but he'd always trusted his eyes to tell him what was before him more than he'd trusted his aura sense. Now as he moved through the city, he thought it felt different. They were still hazy blobs, but they also felt significantly more distant than he'd ever felt before. Like someone was shouting to him from a long ways off.
No one was near, probably. That was for the best. He wasn't looking for a fight. He only wanted to learn, to study and feel.
The whispers of magic that reached him no longer felt like a static gray, even across the distance. Rakovanite thought, if he closed his eyes, he could almost... sense (for he certainly couldn't see anything) a sort of 'color.' There was one, the closest one, that gave him the sensation of being beneath a leafy tree on a bright summer day, while the wind rustled and cast a play of dancing foliage shadows over the ground. It radiated a sort of.. warm but faint yellow. He suspected that was an Order aura of some kind.
And then a pair farther away felt just very vaguely different. It still moved and rustled in the way Rakovanite expected all magic did, but it was a quieter, more restrained movement. Where something like yellow haze was in the first aura, these felt... deeper, something like indigo, maybe. If 'indigo' felt like anything at all.
He wondered if these were chaos auras. Rakovanite should have thought to discern the subtleties of his own faction when he'd been around them in Negaspace, but Laurelite had been there.
Her aura had been practically smothering even when he was a less-sensitive lieutenant. It practically smothered anything he might feel from someone else. It was practically tangible it clung to his skin so hard. Rakovanite let out a muted sound and itched at his arm as if scratching something away. Meeting their Queen at the first aid station had been his first encounter with anyone more highly ranked than a general. Senshi met a sovereign as soon as they were corrupted, but Rakovanite did not have that experience.
He'd only ever dealt with generals.
They could be intimidating too, he was sure, but anyone faced with just the sensation of meeting the Queen... Perhaps that was why so many could be so unwilling to participate in Negaverse duties and perform the tasks they'd been assigned but still be unable to quite will themselves to escape. The overwhelming power of Laurelite was... daunting and frightful to think of opposing.
Oh.
The flutter of a thought crossed him. Opposition. He should be trying harder to find those that would oppose him. He summoned his weapon- again, not because he was looking for a fight, but to feel it, to see it. It was still new to him in this form.
His metal chakrams were heavy and solid in his hands, much different from what they'd been in their previous incarnation. Rakovanite had summoned his weapons perhaps all of twice as a lieutenant. There was no reason to carry around trash. But these were actual weapons. His weapons, at that. Rakovanite pressed the gloved pad of his thumb to one of the chakram's bladed edges. The threads of the fabric of his glove split, letting the edge bite into his finger, though he did have to exert a considerable amount of pressure to allow the blade to cut through anything...
Still, it was leagues better than what he had before and would hopefully be more useful than going into battle with just his fists. Though there was still the matter of learning to properly use them.
He looked up, up across the ledge of a building to see stripes of pink fading out of a darkening sky.
Somehow, he suspected that he'd have to put even more time into his training than he had previously... If he wanted to be useful, if he wanted to continue to please this power that welcomed him so, if he wanted that feeling of standing over those presumptuous, pretentious Order members so favored by the cosmos, he needed to dedicate that effort to bettering himself.
Rakovanite dismissed his weapons, slipped his hands into his coat pocket, and continued down the sidewalk.

Cervantite and Rakovanite seek shelter in one of the decrepit buildings in the village, only to find that it's already occupied. By Narcissus, a senshi Rakovanite has mixed experiences with. He doesn't think they're on exactly the best terms.

Cervantite had an iPod stored in his subspace pocket, and in an act of 'doing things Rakovanite disagrees with,' he's decided to make use of it by loudly playing music in front of their shelter. The struggle is real.
