General Faustite

The Great Hall of the Citadel was crowded, though this time its myriad crystal-encrusted tables were pushed to the edges of the room. On one side, the tables presented desserts and carbs — sweet and savory bagels, english muffins, regular muffins sporting blueberry, cranberry orange, or lemon poppyseed toppings; cookies of many varieties, and surprisingly still warm s'mores. On the other side, hearty dishes like beef wellingtons, mushroom risotto, cornish hens, steak, bedecked salads. Plates and silverware lined the furthest tables, where tea and coffee were likewise available in carafes.

At the front stood Generals Aquamarine, Faustite, and Jet; and Eternal Kamacite stood off to the side, loosely near a poster-sized drawing of their intended location. Behind the Generals sat a table full of backpacks.

While agents and senshi gathered and lined their plates to quell their hungers, Faustite paced languidly at the fore. Hands behind back, nerves neatly pinned up behind his choker. He waited until most were seated, though the sounds of silverware at work were making him twitch. At least he had no stomach to start growling.

"Officers, welcome." The count was greater than the draining operation — a heartening turnout for their undertaking. He halted his pace.

"You're all aware that this will be a two-day mission into the Rift. This briefing will cover the details — who's assigned to which team, what each team is doing, and most importantly, information about the target." Crowd looked like a wide assortment: even mix of senshi and agent, if a little heavy on the senshi side, and Faustite spotted a couple of cats and youmafied officers. Seems the Rift had a pull none could resist.

"Get settled for now. We'll wait five, then begin."

Hello, everyone!

First off, thank you for signing up for this event heart It means a lot to me that there's so much turnout!

This little ORP will provide some preface and context for your characters before they're turned loose in their separate teams. Once the information about the teams gets ICly released, those threads will be opened up (eta of July 11th). This ORP will include some QnA at the end if your character wants to ask questions! You do not have to post your character in this ORP. If you choose not to, please assume that they attended and received the briefing!

If your character hears the mission details and wants to back out, that's fine too! Just quote Strickenized and let me know!

Cheers!

General Sylvite

It had to be a hunting mission.

It couldn't be scouting, or draining, or even like, ambushing Order for a battle, or any of the other stuff that Sylvite felt like she was pretty okay at in her own right.

Nope. They were hunting something down in the Rift.

Everything about the setup, from the large amount of senshi present to the stacks of backpacks and presumably survival equipment that was all lined up at the front of the room was one painful reminder after another that Cybele should have been here. The huntress would have eaten all this up, known what to do, exactly, lived for the thrill of being on something's trail.

Instead, it was just Sylvite here, poking at cookie without taking a single bite.

Okay, it wasn't just her. Her lieutenants were around somewhere, which was mostly why she was here at all. She wasn't letting Feldspar near a youma again without keeping a very close eye on him. She wasn't about to send either of her boys to the Rift alone. If she didn't wanna end up with more people gone, it looked like she'd have to protect them herself.

She was already watching the gathered crowd, although she was quieter than she usual was because she didn't exactly trust herself not to either snap at someone or burst into tears.

Guardian Haymitch

Truth be told, Haymitch didn't usually do much with the Negaverse. He thought gaining sentience was cool, and it was fun to travel with senshi, but honestly he was a little over the whole thing? After all, there weren't a whole lot of senshi that seemed to need his little letters of power and the other kitties weren't exactly... friendly sometimes. All Haymitch wanted to do was chill and be a cat. And possibly figure out how to get thumbs.

Thumbs seemed to be a very neat little thing to have, and he really wanted them. He just had to work for it, and Haymitch was nothing if not very... very lazy in that regard.

Thumbs would make eating this lovely slice of steak so much easier to do, honestly. He was managing! He really was! But he was also getting sauce all over his face and paws, his hat had almost fallen into the mushroom risotto in his haste to consume food. It wasn't often they got fed before a mission! This was great!

The greater details of 'oh this is a hunting mission for some youma from years before' was sort of lost on the small feline, but he wasn't exactly great at the whole fighting thing anyway. He's much better for info gathering!

Or food consumption, as the case may be.

Lt. Leifite

A mission, a real honest to Metallia mission again. She felt the Rift envelope her and the presence of Chaos down her limbs and let out a content sigh. Metallia had found her worthy to be present for a mission, no matter how long it had been since she'd been to one. She was still strong in the eyes of Metallia and the Generals. Now to prove her worth so that she could be granted more power to further their cause. She would prove she was a good asset to the cause, the perfect asset to the team.

Leifite ate sparingly, enough to fill her stomach and energy reserved, but not to gorge herself. It wouldn't do to puke mid combat because she'd eaten too much. Very unlady like, and not at all befitting of an agent of the Negaverse.

Here, the soft whispers of madness she'd carried since looking into Pandora's Box were quiet and muted. Chaos quieted them, mostly due to the Box being filled with the same type of energy. That was the theory in her mind at least. She watched the generals impassively, taking note of Fausitite's particular... upgrades.

He was practically half roiling firepit. He probably was human at one point or another, but he'd fused with some sort of youma, or somehow subsisted on the fire in his midsection. It was odd... she wondered if it gave him an edge in combat or if it was just a hinderance. If he would do it again if given the option. What did he sacrifice in the name of Metallia to gain power? In fact, there were a few other officers with similiar features. Not all human anymore.

How interesting.

Leifite tucked that thought away for later; there was a mission to be briefed on, teams to create and a salad to consume as quietly as possible.

She would prove herself here, she would.

General Rakovanite

Rakovanite had been to the Rift only once, and the experience hadn't been one to promote the idea that anything beneficial dwelled in the Negaverse's underside. It had taken what amounted to an army led by a General King to save just a single boy. It seemed ill-advised to go hunting in the Rift, and when his senshi had expressed interest, he'd said as much. Ill-advised. Bad idea.

But the danger wasn't enough to refute their interest. Rakovanite would've preferred they took more vigor to their standard tasks, but alas. His youma-hated-senshi were eager for the Rift, and he couldn't send them off with only the supervision of people he didn't know or trust. He had to go.

Much to his chagrin.

He teleported them in. Calaverite and Cervantite moved to be nearest to the leading generals and their snacks, scampering away like eager children. Which he supposed they were. It was going to be a laborious and tiresome next few days.

Rakovanite sighed softly, notching his glasses up with a gloved knuckle as he glanced around at the growing crowd. More than he'd expected, maybe more than Axinite's makeshift army, even- And then, from the corner of his eye, a blotch of pink near the snacks. He'd already started toward her before Rakovanite realized her demure state: completely non-chipper expression, cookie barely nibbled. At once he thought to turn around and leave her to herself.

But it was such an unfortunate and uncharacteristic look on her. He willed himself forward. They were supposed to be friends. "I thought you would be crueller to that cookie," Rakovanite murmured as he approached her side.

Captain Prehnite

Prehnite took up stance in the back. Let the food stay and sit, untouched, and of little interest to him. His gaze was held by those settled on the stage, roved the attending crowd with mild interest; picking out faces old and new. Some he recognized, and some he didn't.

Noted changes with banked interest and mild demeanor. The call had gone out, and he'd answered demurely. More out of an urge to see the rift -a place that seemed ageless and timeless- than anything else. Though upon noting the startling amount of basics and Lt.s, he wondered if the endeavor would be as successful as it was intended to be.

Prehnite kept his ideas and comments to himself. Settled in quietly out of the way - and took stock. Listened while he caught glances of those filtering in around his periphery. Either it was going to be a massive trainwreck..or a glowing success, and nothing inbetween. He hoped that maybe if there were enough of them there with some experience, they'd bring back those who were merely wounded, instead of pieces of bodies and ash.

Corrupt Sailor Albite Senshi of Retribution

Albite stared at a cat - stood because he was too excited to sit - bounced lightly on his heels and ate standing. Something that he quantified as finger food, though who could have told what it was out of the myriad of assorted deserts, delights, and eateries available.

Albite s t a r e d - at a cat - and all of his Generals wonderful, informative, well parsed words went over his head, and the people were a blurr, and if he knew them whatever they'd talk to him, and if he didn't whatever ; because he'd already talked to Faustite before about something involving going and not summarily getting himself killed. In ways that would have been messy, unfortunate, and detrimental to others.

Albite was thoroughly motivated to 'survive' whatever rift trip dark side of the moon party was gonna go on.

So instead of paying attention - to everything else - Albite stared at a cat. Messy thing full of fluff, and covered in..and touching all the....

Albite flinched, and got up the nerve to move closer to the cat. More wary than if the thing had been a snarling youma with maw agape. Approached it like one would a roach found on their bathroom floor - only massive, magical, speaking, and making a general mess of things.

Albite wondered if the cat would 'do a thing' - and wasn't that what all the other Senshi had said? They sensed s**t and did things, and maybe if he stared at it and got close enough - one of those many vague and magically wonderful things would occur.

Otherwise he'd just be a large slightly crazy looking guy - s t a r i n g - down a cat.

General Benitoite

Normally he wouldn't eat in front of others at a meeting, it wasn't proper, but he was treating this like a cocktail hour where small bites of food were served along with drinks and people talked. It was why he didn't mind standing off to the side with a plate of food and a fork, which was digging into a small beef wellington. The group was large, larger than he'd expected, and rather well mixed. Very nice.

Taking a bit of the food he let his eyes focus on those running things. This was ggoing to be a two day venture into the rift in order to deal with some youma, he assumed it was a greater youma, and he'd packed accordingly. The General wasn't without a small bag containing foods which he didn't need to heat, cook, or anything else. He also had a few bottles of water with himself, there was no way they'd acomplish things if people got dehydrated due to a lack of water. There was also no way he'd drink whatever water might be found in the rift, he knew better. Though he also knew there was a bar down in the rift, run by youma, where you could get a few things to drink, some of which he wouldn't trust, but he didn't figure he'd be able to head on off to that place at any point during the mission.

Slowly withdrawing the fork from his mouth he watched the ground thoughtfully. So many he didn't know...a few he knew though, mostly in passing. Things had changed so much since he'd first joined as a teenager. So many had vanished, likely giving into the need to live life as a civilian and forgetting about the war, or they were dead. It was a shame they were missing so many faces, so many who could be useful. All replaced by new people, people he didn't know, but at least they were here and learning and growing stronger. Maybe if things continued to happen, if battles and things like this contiunued, they'd have a new fresh army of seasoned officers. It would be nice.

Lieutenant Roselite

Roselite heard that baked goods were generally appreciated at meetings such as this, so he brought baked goods. He almost included another “Courtesy of Captain Bloodstone,” but decided at the last second that now wasn’t really the right time to make an attempt at scoring points for his Captain. This was a Very Important meeting for a Very Important mission, so he brought the food out of his care and concern for his comrades.

In his short time in the Negaverse, Roselite had not had the occasion to attend a Very Important meeting. He was judged “too new and thus likely to be a liability” by Bloodstone at the time of Faustite’s previous mission (“There’s plenty of paperwork to keep you occupied.”), so Roselite sat it out and felt guilty about it afterwards.

He didn’t know what made Bloodstone change his mind for this mission, especially when they’d be heading into the Rift, but Roselite decided not to question it. True, he was terrified by the very idea of the Rift, and he didn’t know how much use he’d be, but he was fascinated by what he’d heard of it. With a big enough group, he might not have cause to be afraid, and he would hopefully be able to put his observational skills to use.

Roselite sat with a plate containing precisely one muffin, one cookie, and a small portion of the mushroom risotto. Interested as he was in all the other officers, Senshi, and… cats?... that filled the Great Hall, he kept his eyes lowered. He kept a notepad and pen within reaching distance, rather fond of physical copies of things even in the digital age.

---

Lieutenant Carnallite

Carnallite perused the food table.

Was food a common offering at these sorts of meetings? First Axinite offered baked goods; now Faustite offered a combination of baked goods and… fine dining?

All she got at work were pizza parties.

Carnallite wouldn’t normally indulge when there was work to be done, but the steak was calling to her. She added salad to her plate as an afterthought, to balance out the heaviness of the meat, but she barely touched the greens, digging in as soon as she found a seat beside Bloodstone.

Perhaps more important than the food was—

“There are cats,” she said, a low whisper to her friend and Captain.

Her love for cats was nearly as strong as her hatred for people.

You wouldn’t know it by her resting b***h face.

---

Corrupt Cymophane

Approaching one of the food tables, Cymophane grabbed a plate for himself and took a couple of s’mores. He shoved a second plate at Reidite and said, “Eat,” then filled a third plate with a bagel topped with some of the blueberry condiment, a couple of cookies, and a s’more. He carried this plate over to Kamacite, hoping the offer of sweet things would appeal to him more than the heavier fare on the other side of the room.

“Here.” Cymophane smiled, then lowered his voice so no one else would hear. “I know you’re nervous, but try to eat something. If you can stomach anything else, let me know and I’ll get it for you.”

Then he took a bite of one of the treats he’d claimed for himself.

“These s’mores are so good,” Cymophane gushed, mouth stained with melted chocolate. He licked it off and issued a cheery, “Thanks, Faustite!”

He wore a smile for the General, too, but there was something in his eyes that might make it appear less friendly than usual, a bit of tension around the edges to subtly indicate his displeasure. I know you hit Kamacite.

General Chalcanthite

Chalcanthite scanned the room quietly, there were so many faces he didn’t recognize. It had been years since he had been at any sort of meeting or briefing for any sort of mission. There was so much food but at the same time he had a bad taste in his mouth from where he had abandoned his duties for so long. It was time to start getting back into the swing of things, preferably something would be available for him to aid in that wasn’t directly combat.

After taking another look at the food, he grabbed a small plate of mushroom risotto and began to pick at it. It looked better than anything he had eaten in a long while. It was at that point he noticed Benitoite looking around as well, at first he wasn’t sure if the little General had seen him but that was ok for now. Things were still a bit rusty for him and there were so many people he once knew that were not present here. There were so many reasons as to why but the uncertainty of it did not help to settle the tiredness that was very apparent in his eyes.

At some point he started to walk around to look for others but there was time for that later after the briefing.

Corrupt Super Valeria.

This wasn't a place she'd normally be, youma disliked her sort, but she'd taken a deep breath and committed to this meeting. She didn't know a lot about it but she needed to start doing things again - she had to. She remebered the wolf like captain, Wolframite, who had taken her in and helped her. It was time to hopefully see him again, now powered up as she was, and prove herself to him and perhaps reconnect. She wanted to work under him...to grow under him, he'd seemed to care for her and her time in the Negaverse. He didn't just want to push her or order her around or even belittle her. He cared.

She was hoping to better herself and find him again and thank him, to work under him if he was still around. She was sure he was though - he had to be. He seemed to know enough about the war, and how to fight, in order to keep himself alive. It was just a matter of finding him, and she was going to start trying.

Having grabbed some juice for herself, not wanting tea or coffee, the corrupt senshi of brains kept to herself. It wasn't that she wasn't social, she was, but she honestly didn't know anyone here.

Lieutenant Eveite

Once again it appeared that the General Faustite was leading another mission. It appeared that he was the only General who may have wanted to get things done. Or who had the most free time. Considering how Youmafied he was, she wouldn't be surprised that he had all of this time to think and plan things as the rest of them had their own civilian lives.

She was glad that there was food this time though, and immediately went to make herself a cup of coffee and grab some of the non desert food. Though she would definitely be grabbing a lemon poppyseed muffin later.

She couldn't help but giggle as she remembered the complaint that Chambersite had the last time when there was no food. It appeared that the General took it into consideration. She took a seat closer to the back and made sure to pull out her tablet so that she could take notes. She dug into her food before any speeches were made.

----------------------------------------------------

General Arsenopyrite

Another mission already? And he wasn't sure what was happening this time. Again. It appeared to be another rift one. Didn't they do that one already? Yeah, it was that one to save that Agent... Arseno didn't remember much of it. His head had been clouded byu the need for sleep.

As it was this time as well. Medical school was not kind, and he wondered why they had to learn so much in such a short time. Blame the country's health system he guessed, but that wasn't something he could fix, but it did make him greatly reconsider if he should continue.

Still, he had made it this far. Perhaps at the end of it all he could be a Doctor for one or two years and after that see if he wanted to continue. But for now he found a chair and immediately collapsed into it and fell asleep.

[Lieutenant Ransomite]

He had been there a time or two, largely when someone higher ranking than him decided to carry him along for the trip following a summons of some kind. But this time, he wasn't sure, exactly, what he was supposed to be doing there in the first place. Usually there was an assignment or something. Some quota to be met. Something he'd have to power up for in order to accomplish.

He'd largely avoided powering up, focusing on his 'normal' life, the one without starseeds and monsters and moral quandaries. He came when explicitly called, of course. Ransomite respected the structure of authority, and he knew that Order's name often felt like a misnomer. They were dangerous to confront alone, their methods sometimes questionable.

Though to say that was unique to Order--

But Ransomite didn't often involve himself with the other members of the Negaverse unless he had to. That was not to say he was a pacifist, but he wasn't exactly chomping at the bit to get into trouble. So to find himself here, in the Citadel, talking about the Rift... Honestly, if it hadn't been for a strongly worded 'request' of dubious refusability that he be there, Ransomite would have stayed home.

He glanced more than once toward the Generals and Eternal senshi at the front of the room. With them and the amount of supplies, he didn't figure they were going on a Boy Scouting trip to go camping in the woods.

'Wonder if that's the sort of thing Zeb would be into?'

Probably not. Zebulon's days of late were more troubleshooting chemical synthesis problems and less troubleshooting tent-pitching problems. Diryas had never really seemed the camping type. Tobias?

Maybe Tobias.

Ransomite acquired for himself some of the food that had been laid out. He had never been to the Rift, but it had been easy enough to find something to tell the other three regarding his whereabouts for a couple days. A retreat, or something.

He was pretty sure he'd said it was a retreat.

[Super Sailor Nembus]

Nembus had never been to the Rift.

Of all the things she had been curious about, the Rift ranked about last on the list; she had understood the warning early on that the youma there would never respect her, senshi of Chaos or not, and she had no interest in being youma food no matter how much the deepest depths of her brain occasionally wondered if there was a reason for her to be alive at all. A mission to the Rift was the exact opposite of her interests, and she would have had no reason to be there at all if not for one of the figures standing in front of the room.

General Faustite.

Her general, General Faustite.

It was strange to readjust to the concept of a general who cared much about what she did; it was worrisome to have to adjust to the concept of a general who cared about what she did. It was different when it was Marcasite; so much of the life of Infiltration was focused not on the more severe aspects of the Negaverse but of the outside civilian life; it was different when she was adrift and allowed to consider the serious consequences of the situation she found herself in and how to get herself out of them and if she even should bother, if the life she knew was good enough and if she should just accept the reality that had been forced upon her.

None of that mattered, she supposed.

She found herself standing near the heartier foods, a bowl of mushroom risotto in her hands that she ate at slowly as she observed the ones who entered. A mix of levels, though she noted with some dismay that there were more lieutenants and basics than she might have expected for a search into the Rift. There were a couple she spotted that were familiar -- well, primarily Albite, who was naturally staring down one of the present guardian cats. She noted them, for later, realizing her lack of contact with Theodore likely meant she needed to make nice with some of the others.

But she didn't approach, remaining quiet and waiting for her general to speak.

[Super Sailor Fulgurite]

Fulgurite was an adrenaline-seeker against all logic, and perhaps his logic should have told him that the last place he should have been was in the Citadel for a mission into the Rift, but that would require him to care what his logic was telling him.

So was the problem.

Impulsive behaviour had always been a problem for one Matthew Gowan, and perhaps this time had been no exception. He had heard the word of a mission into the Rift to hunt for something, and Fulgurite had jumped at the chance to sign himself up. Even after arriving in the Citadel, he had not yet found a sign that this had been a bad idea. A two-day mission into the Rift? He could handle that.

He wouldn't be that interesting to a youma in the interim, surely.

The food drew his attention before he could question anything else, and he found himself drawn to the side of the tables with sweets. It was hard for him to keep using the excuse that he was growing, but he took a plate and piled on several cookies, a s'more, and a couple of muffins anyway. Eating them kept him occupied until the meeting started.

General Aquamarine

This mission was going to be a disaster.

Aquamarine knew that going into it. Their last mission inside the Rift had technically been a success; they’d accomplished their goal, but it was also a massive ********, and that was with a General King accompanying them. Axinite would not be joining them this time, which left Faustite, Jet, and Aquamarine himself (and, he supposed, the Corrupt Eternal) to keep the mission from falling apart.

He did not have high hopes.

At the front of the room, Aquamarine leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, looking out over the assembled crowd. He ate nothing and spoke to no one, sharing only a few silent glances with Jet.

Then his gaze fell upon a General, sleeping.

A General.

Aquamarine could not recall if he’d seen the General before. Maybe he had in passing, during other meetings or operations. He certainly didn’t know him, but that was unsurprising; Aquamarine didn’t make a point of knowing many people. The fact that he wasn’t aware of the General’s name could be a product of his own indifference, or it could be a result of the sleeping General’s idleness.

Since he had the nerve to sleep at a time like this, Aquamarine would prefer to believe the latter.

With a scoff of disgust, Aquamarine pushed himself off the wall and made his approach. He considered teleporting in an attempt to scare the s**t out of him, but decided he’d rather not waste the energy. Instead, he made a slow walk toward the sleeping General, came to a stop in front of his chair…

And clapped loudly in his face, three times.

“What the ******** do you think you’re doing?” Aquamarine snarled. “If you’d rather sleep, go to the ******** barracks and sleep. If you’re going to stay, get some ******** coffee, wake yourself up, and set a better ******** example for the agents who suffer your craptastic leadership.”

Said the General with craptastic leadership skills.

Whatever. At least he took meetings like this seriously.

Corrupt Eternal Kamacite

Kamacite felt like he was going to throw up. Except he hadn’t had anything to eat yet. There were so many people showing up, which was both good and just horrible. He remained at the front of the room, trying not to make it too obvious that he was fidgeting nervously beneath his robes, but what did anyone really expect from him when Generals were already falling asleep before the meeting even started.

He jumped when he heard Cymophane’s voice, despite having watched him approach, and swallowed back his nerves as he reached out to take the plate with shaky hands.

“Thank you,” he said politely. There were so many Senshi and Lieutenants there. Did they not realize they were going into the Rift?

“I asked Faustite to keep you off my team,” he admitted, his voice quiet by nature, and not necessarily something he was trying to hide. “I don’t want you to get hurt. I mean. You might still get hurt, but I hope it won’t be as dangerous.”

He didn’t touch the food on his plate yet, too worried that he would end up shaking everything off if he tried removing one of his hands from the plate rim.

But Aquamarine managed to get him to jump again when he went over to the sleeping General to clap in his face. He saved the bagel, but the cookies and s’more fell to the floor. Kamacite sighed heavily.

“You and Reidite should back out. No one will blame you,” he promised.

_____________________________________________________________________

Captain Bloodstone

“How appropriate to provide a high quality last meal before entering the Rift,” Bloodstone said as he took a bite of his own steak. He didn’t have any doubt in his mind that he and Carnallite could handle themselves in the Rift. They had before. But with so many others, there were bound to be casualties.

Maybe that was the purpose of this mission. Instead of just hunting down a youma, they would be feeding it too. How better to stall it than to give it a meal?

“Those aren’t cats,” Bloodstone, cautioned Carnallite before she got too disappointed. It was bad enough that there was a cat on the food table, but they weren’t even real cats. Of course, that might mean Carnallite would like them better.

On the other side of him, Roselite had his own plate of risotto, muffin, and cookie. He seemed to be anxious, but as long as he wasn’t in the thick of things, it should be a good experience for him.

“Rose, keep an eye on everyone. I want to know how well these agents cooperate as a team. If we need anything in the future, we’ll know who to go to and who to avoid,” he said to Roselite, although he was certain with his notebook beside him, that was exactly what he planned on doing.

Corrupt Sailor Taenite

“Wow, General Faustite. You really went all out! Thank you!” Taenite praised, enthusiastically as he made his way over to the tables. Although the bagels and muffins were a bit of a surprise. As well as coffee and tea. But no matter! As long as everyone was getting their fill of whatever they wanted to eat. Maybe this time people wouldn’t complain about there being no food there for these kinds of meetings.

“General! How is the food? I just can’t decide what I want to try first. How is that? Is that… uh… what is that? Some kind of meat pastry?” he asked as he approached-- “General Benitoite, right? Sailor Taenite, at your service,” he introduced himself with a flourish of his hand, but there was nothing mocking in the gesture. This was apparently his normal introduction. “I saw you at a couple of previous missions. The one General King Axinite lead into the Rift, and the one at the Farnsworth building,” he said as a reminder just in case Benitoite recalled seeing him. He wouldn’t blame him if he hadn’t, but he wanted to make sure he introduced himself if they were going to keep running into each other on these missions.

Lieutenant Reidite

Reidite stared at the food on the tables, and at the cat on the table, and at the other people staring at the cat on the table.

He took the plate when Cymophane handed him one, and continued to stare at everything. And then his eyes narrowed suspiciously.

Was this normal to provide so much food before a mission? If that was the case, then maybe being in the Negaverse wouldn’t be so horrible. They certainly knew how to treat their agents.

He’d recovered from his injuries by now, and had been summoned to partake in some mission to a place called the Rift where it would certainly be dangerous, but if he could do something to keep Cymophane safe, then he supposed he would agree to follow his General wherever he wanted him to go.

“Is it normal to have cat on table?” he asked, his Russian accent obvious despite being fluent in English. He just didn’t care enough at the moment. He turned from one brunet in bows and blue, to the long haired, half-dressed man staring down at the cat as well, wondering if anyone heard him, or if he should just accept it as a normal thing.
