He didn’t think it was relevant.
What he did know was that he and Calaverite had been sitting on this ledge since 5:00 PM, the better part of two hours, waiting for lights to flick on or a shadow to cross the window or anything that may suggest a person was inside.
But nothing so far, and it had taken his senshi companion the better part of twenty minutes to grow impatient.
Rakovanite had done the only thing that seemed reasonable, and given Calaverite leave to take a stroll around the block as a civilian to scope out anything of interest in the area. He expected Ivory would find exactly nothing, but anything was preferable to the boy sitting next to him, harassing him, asking a bunch of questions, poking at the Mauvian who’d been gracious enough to accompany them to conceal their auras while they waited.
Gremlin had made himself into a collar around the back of Rakovanite’s neck, with long legs draping over one side, and skinny arms over the other. Rakovanite didn’t question the usually-prickly Mauvian’s motives. Even though the air was warm, Gremlin always pressed in close for that body heat.
And they were comfortable enough with each other (or perhaps just didn’t care enough about each other), that they saw little need to speak.
Rakovanite sat watching, keeping far enough back from the building’s edge that no one would see him from the ground. He kept his senses open for any auras that may flare to life around him. He kept one eye on the window for activity, and the other trying to survey the rest of the area. But even Rakovanite had to admit that he was starting to get a little bored, and he wished this hadn’t wasted so much of his time...
