It was late into the night, and Tanwyn was in shock, sitting scrunched into the corner between his refrigerator and stove as he stared at the unfathomable mess hardly a yard in front of him
It was late into the night, and he was incapable of processing what had happened scant moments prior. How could he pretend to be reasonable and rational when it seemed like everything had descended into madness over nothing?
It was late into the night, and Tanwyn was terrified of what would happen to him if anyone had heard, if anyone saw. It didn't matter how unlikely it was that they'd drawn any more attention now than any time previously. His mind was immediately convinced that someone knew, someone knew, someone knew, and he was about to be put away.
It was late into the night, and he didn't know who to ask for help or who to call. He wanted direction and assurance, but he was terrified. Who would he trust? Tanwyn didn't have any family besides what was in front of him. Kept most of his contacts electronic otherwise. Nearly all of his friends he'd never met in person, and most of them he wouldn't dare try and explain this situation to.
He wouldn't try to explain this situation to anyone at all, except he felt compelled to hear it from another person: 'Yes, running is the right call. What else could you do?'
It was late into the night when he called the only person he could think of. It rang and rang, went to voicemail. He called again, rang and rang. But he had no choice but to persist, and when the line finally connected, his throat suddenly clamped shut as if to prevent him from speaking. But he had to. "N-Nat... Can you come over?"
