They hadn't even bothered to learn each other's names. They'd simply run into each other and through some silent accord decided to patrol together for shits and giggles. Pan couldn't help but be amused as she glanced sideways at her temporary partner. He was definitely something of a silent type. But also kind of an a*****e based on the few words he had uttered.

Still, she was willing enough to put up with it for a few hours. She'd be even more willing if they actually found someone to fight. She had no doubts that Mr. Mysterious Pants was something of a kindred soul as far as fighting went.

Which was probably why they'd fallen into a companionable silent hunt. Which, she grinned as she felt the Chaotic auras just at the edge of her ability to sense them, had just turned potentially profitable.

Turning to the other senshi, she arched an eyebrow in question and her grin widened as he nodded and took off ahead of her. She'd let that pass, she decided just before running after. A good brawl always made her nights better.

"So... what is that?" Cervantite asked as he stared at where Rakovanite had just tucked a silver emblem into the inside pocket of his coat.

Now that they were out in the city, it seemed as good a time as any to activate the engraved medallion's magic. In his experience, Rakovanite had found that a basic lieutenant was perhaps the most worse-off person in a fight. They may be very slightly physically stronger than a lowly-ranked senshi, but with a toy for a weapon and absolutely none of the magical prowess that even the weakest senshi possessed, lieutenants certainly weren't the most threatening agents out there. Significantly less dangerous than even a captain.

Making them decent targets for any Order out hunting.

Rakovanite took brisk strides as he moved down the sidewalk, careful to stay just a pace ahead of the corrupt with him but otherwise having no plans for where there were headed. His expectation was that something would come to him, and if not, he would at least know when anything of interest was near. "It suppresses my my energy signature a bit. Can you tell?"

Cervantite scrunched up his face as he squinted at his brother's back. Despite still being a little new to the whole magical scene, he'd grown pretty familiar with Rakovanite's aura. His brother was there most of the times Diesel was able to power up.

"I guess?" He offered hesitantly, but then it was hard to be sure. All auras just sort of felt like waves to him, gently pushing and pulling with a sort of indescribable variety pressure that whispered what type of person it might belong to. Rakovanite just felt like an agent. Like he always had. Cervantite didn't have the experience with anything more powerful to know them apart that well.

But when another set of waves prickled along the edge of his senses, Cervantite's focus came fully back to the man in front of him.

"Someone else is out there."

"So it seems," Rakovanite answered flatly.

Another beat of silence. They kept walking, with no discernible shift toward whoever else was out there. Cervantite glanced over his shoulder as if he might be able to see them strolling up behind the pair, then let out a soft scoff to try and goad something more from the man in front of him. Nothing came. "I think they're coming closer."

"So they are."

Cervantite didn't necessarily care to fight. He enjoyed showing off more than anything else, but most importantly, he didn't like waiting. He didn't like the building anticipation. If something was going to happen, he wanted it to happen. There wasn't a pause when he demanded a little more hotly, "Are we going to go-"

"No need," Rakovanite cut him off. "They are coming to us. Be patient."

Perhaps she should have been worried as they got closer and she could detect two auras. But ******** it, her bloodlust was up and Pan was spoiling for a fight. All a second Chaos aura meant in the long run was better survival odds for their does.

A few feet ahead, she heard her erstwhile partner shout something and saw a bright blast of concussive energy burst out of him. Feeling that her own magic wasn't exactly intimidating, Pan decided that for this fight she was more than happy to be the muscle.

Thus, hard on the heels of the other senshi's magical attack, she raced forward and leapt into the air, trusting in the brightness of the magic to hide her a bit. Then, she let gravity take over and balled up both fists, ready to beat whoever was there to a bloody pulp.

This was gonna be fun.

Rakovanite wasn't wrong, though Cervantite wouldn't ever admit it out loud. He saw the first senshi a breath of an instant before his older brother: a boy who wasted absolutely no time firing off a spell that sent a shockwave of bright energy flaring out around him. Cervantite felt the wave of it buffet him, yanking in his stupidly long hair and long skirt.

There were a lot of extraneous... fabrics and tassels to be fighting with, but they’d started it, and Cervantite wasn’t going to just do nothing.

They two boys split immediately, with Cervantite bolting headfirst down the sidewalk to meet the assault (he was pretty familiar with blasting magic; it would take more than that to scare him off), while Rakovanite dipped toward the street, staying well away from both the White Moon senshi as they advanced.

Cervantite slung his arms out behind him as he ran, snapping his thumb and forefingers on each hand as he shouted his own attack to illicit a bright burst of magic that rocketed him forward from the blast.

The girl was there before he’d even fully registered it, and there was little he could do at this point to stop from meeting her.

Pan hadn't exactly expected to be met mid-air by the enemy, but hell, who was she to deny an opportunity? Grinning, she lashed out with a vicious kick even as gravity seized her and began to pull her back to earth. As she fell, she blew a kiss towards her opponent, then balled herself up to land on the ground below.

"Not bad, blaster boy," she called, Georgia drawl evident. Whether she was talking to her partner or the corrupt senshi wasn't terribly clear, but she'd let them decide for themselves.

And speaking of her partner, she'd lost sight of him, though she could still feel him in the area. So, maybe he was chasing down Baddie Number Two? That was hardly fair. THough she had her own issues considering the corrupt senshi seemed to have a similar concussive style of magic. Which meant she'd have to be careful until she knew exactly what the long haired ******** was capable of.

Borrrrrring!

Cervantite didn't like to wait. It kinda looked like this girl didn't like to wait, judging by how abruptly she'd jumped in for an attack. And since his big brother was here to back him up if things got dicey (he hoped; admittedly, he wasn't completely sure Rakovanite would do anything to help him), there didn't seem to be any reason to not do everything he conceivably could do.

The White moon senshi lashed out with her leg, and Cervantite felt the sting of the impact where he caught it in both his hands, blocking her from a more personal assault to his chest. He felt the thrum of his magic where she'd connected, something that crashed like a wave through his muscles as he called on it at the instant of the other's senshi's attack and threw it back out at her. A well of heat and smoke erupted between them at the impact, shoving Cervantite back and away from her and towards the ground.

He skidded backwards across the sidewalk, keeping to a low crouch so as not to topple backwards with the force of it.

That was most of his magic he'd gone through already, though. Not really ideal, considering the girl hadn't hardly done anything to him. But then Cervantite wasn't exactly out trying to maim or kill anyone, so depleting his magic early didn't seem so bad to him. Getting to use his spells was most of the point of a brawl. No reason to be stingy with it. "You could fight like that any ole' day, y'know?" He prompted, lurching back to a full stand and bolting at her again, this time throwing a punch of his own.

---

Rakovanite watched from where he stood behind a parked car across the street as Cervantite blew a wave a fire at the girl midair. The tiniest frown graced his features as he stared at them. His little brother had no restraint, no patience. He would ruin anything they could do here.

Nataniel had taken a class on conservation tactics one semester before he'd graduated. It hadn't been anything he'd needed for his degree, and it had been prior to any of his Negaverse experience, but he very distinctly remembered one of the lessons on eradicating invasive species. It was a bit of a sad topic for most in the room, but getting rid of things that shouldn't be there better helped ecosystems thrive.

Rakovanite didn't buy into the "senshi as space invaders spiel," so he didn't exactly equate them to invasive, but he did equate them to something that needed to be eradicated.

This particular lesson had been very careful to point out that unless you were one hundred percent positive you could skillfully eliminate the entirety of a colony in one go, it was better to do nothing. Survivors had the opportunity to learn, and even animals had the capacity to teach what they'd gleaned from one encounter to their offspring. There was no room for error in this. Once they learned, they could avoid and repopulate.

Rakovanite didn't think they should be divulging any of their skills to the enemy so early, while Rakovanite still had so little information on them to fight back with. It was why he carried his medallion. He didn't want his enemy to know he could teleport, summon a weapon, call youma until he showed them he could. But Cervantite was already abusing every single thing he could do, with no discretion. This enemy had information on them now, no matter how minimal it was. If they were allowed to leave, they would have time to decide upon an actual strategy to fight with next time.

So they couldn't be allowed to leave.

As far as Rakovanite was concerned, not every interaction with the White Moon needed to be an altercation, but any altercation that displayed any form of ability should be decisive. Now that they had started an actual fight, they should finish it. It was just annoying that he'd had so little say in how it progressed.

His focus narrowed in on the aura of the other senshi, the one that had escaped by Cervantite. The boy was following him, he was sure, but Rakovanite didn't want to give them a drawn-out battle. There was less chance to escape that way.

As soon as he and the other senshi made eye contact, Rakovanite teleported off the spot, whisking out from under the senshi's gaze and landing abruptly before him, arm already extended to reach into his chest and snatch his starseed. It was only a handful of instances.

The boy stumbled away.

Rakovanite's fingers pressed through his chest.

The boy called his magic.

Rakovanite gripped his starseed.

The force of the senshi's concussive magic blasted out around him, shoving Rakovanite back, but his grip was firm, and even as he staggered backward the starseed came with him, leaving only the echos of a mangled cry reverberating down the street. The boy crumpled to the ground, and Rakovanite turned his focus back toward his little brother and the girl.

Diesel must make physical contact with another person or object in order to use his magic. The energy expelled by the impact provides the necessary 'fuel' to power his abilities, and so the magic's strength varies dependent upon how much effort he exerts. Simple contact may cause a flash burn, while something more forceful could cause a contained burst of flames that allows Diesel to forcefully repel enemies. Severity and duration of damage is up to target. He is capable of activating magic on himself (by clapping, snapping, stomping, etc) to propel himself nearer to targets. He has thirty seconds from casting to make contact with something, but the magic itself lasts for only a single burst on impact. May be used three times per battle.

At first, Pan had merely been disappointed that her kick hadn't been more devastating. Dude had managed to catch and take the blow in his hands, which was impressive enough. But the fact that he'd been able to somehow take her kick and turn it against her...

It really wasn't fair.

Between gravity and the blast of magic that the corrupt senshi had aimed at her, Pan's descent to earth was a little more forceful that she liked. Landing hard on her back, she gasped a little as the wind was driven out of her. Forcing herself to her feet, she wobbled a bit, managing a sneer at the corrupt's words.

"b***h, I can do this all the damn day long," she snarled before a mangled scream distracted her. Momentarily forgetting her own enemy, she spun in the direction of the scream just in time to see a concussive blast with a figure just inside who crumpled to the ground. And though she was unable to know for certain without getting closer, she had a sinking feeling that her partner had just had a Very Bad Thing happen to him. And if that was, indeed, the case...

Casting about for a weapon, her eye fell on a discarded beer bottle. Racing for it, she scooped it up before turning a hateful eye towards the corrupt senshi. Then, still woozy from her landing, she launched herself for the corrupt, determined to beat his brains in with her bottle.

The teasing kiss the girl had shot him earlier implied something like playfulness to Cervantite, something he was all for. He didn't mind an intense fight, but it was all more a joke and display of abilities than anything actually serious to him.

When the "tease" of the moment was sapped away to leave the girl snarling at him, Cervantite's expression twisted into one of confusion, and he canted his head. "What're you mad for?" He shot back, a little bit of annoyance leaking into his own voice. If she wanted to fight no magic, that was on her, but it really seemed like it took a lot of the fun of being a senshi out of it. Especially if she was going to be offended when Cervantite used his.

At the nearby scream, Cervantite's focus followed hers, landing on what looked like the conclusion to a fight that was probably not as playful as Cervantite liked his.

His brother was certainly no tease.

And Cervantite wasn't... completely sure how he felt about that.

But as the girl took to action again, Cervantite's focus whipped back to her in time to see her collect an old beer bottle and come after him with it, and he found himself exasperated with her tactics once more. "For real? You're going to pick up a weapon instead of just using the magic? For ******** sake." She was at least persistent about it, and Cervantite had to sweep to the side and duck for cover as her assault continued.

----

He didn't think he'd be able to rely on teleportation again.

Rakovanite eyed the pair of senshi across the street. He still didn't know anything about the girl, and given that Cervantite seemed to mostly be trying to retreat at this point, he had to assume his little brother hadn't really achieved much of anything in his fight with her. Rakovanite stared at them for several long seconds, watching the girl lash out with a bottle as Cervantite skipped backwards and away.

It wasn't until a particularly loud thud resounded, interrupted only by a sharp yelp from Cervantite as he was struck, that Rakovanite moved to intercept.

They weren't so far away that it took him more than a second to reach them, but Cervantite had stumbled back and fallen to the ground by the time Rakovanite was between them, snatching up the girl's arm that held the bottle and slinging her around toward the building before she could land another hit. He kept his grip on her arm, using his other hand to grab the back of her head and slam her forehead into the brick.

Releasing her arm to hold her only by the back of the neck, he summoned his weapon to his free hand and pulled it back.

"Nat!" Cervantite's cry was sharp and fearful, clearly, clearly expecting that he was about to decapitate this girl, and using his ******** civilian name again- Rakovanite grit his teeth.

He stabbed the serrated edges of his chakram into the wall, the sharp protrusions notching to either side of the girl's neck where the pierced the brick, holding her there as he stepped back to retrieve his tablet and send a brisk message requesting the presence of a general sovereign.

Teeth grinding even as tears leaked from her eyes, Pan was relentless in her attack, chasing after the corrupted senshi with murder in her heart. She hadn't even known her partner's name, but his loss hurt. She'd seen death and she wished she hadn't. She could only hope that the boy hadn't suffered, though she doubted it. People didn't scream like that when they weren't in pain.

She felt the bottle connect with a satisfying thud and allowed herself a feral grin.

"Magic doesn't give me results like this, honey," she hissed, pressing the attack as the corrupt senshi hit the ground. her only regret was that there wasn't anywhere to quickly break the bottle so she could stab his ******** face. Oh well. She'd just have to bludgeon him to death.

She was okay with that.

As she raised the bottle up for another blow, she found herself suddenly facing someone new and a tiny yelp of surprise burst from her as her wrist was seized. Before she could readjust for this new threat, she was spun around and a hand against the back of her head drove her face into a brick wall.

Eyes crossing and rolling back into her skull, Pan let out a tiny whoop and would have slid bonelessly tot he ground were it not for the grip on her neck. As it was, she drifted in and out of consciousness, only vaguely aware of voices and shifting light.

Rakovanite’s message was received and in only seconds, the overpowering energy signature of a General King appeared nearby. Within seconds, he had teleported to them and appeared to arrive walking midstep to ensure he was prompt. He scanned the group, the White Moon Senshi.

There wasn’t anywhere for her to go, nowhere for her to run, now. She was the least of his concerns.

His eyes lingered on her for a second, taking in her damage, her condition.

Not a threat. Even if Rakovanite let her fall and she tried to run, Axinite could easily just teleport to wherever she got off to. She didn’t seem like she was in any condition to put up much of a fight, anyway.

That made the two agents his priority concern and he looked to them and asked, “Are you both alright?”

Cervantite let out a tiny, disoriented puff as he pushed himself to sit up. He reached a hand up to his temple to delicately dust three fingers against where he'd been struck by that crazy girl's bottle attack, and pulled them away to see a faint sheen of sticky blood against his fingers. He blinked stupidly at his hand for a few seconds too many before squinting first in Rakovanite's direction, and then Axinite's.

It was probably just a flesh wound. He didn't feel especially disoriented, so much as just confused. ...Those were different, right? And Nat would probably be offended if he made any kind of deal about it, so best to not, Cervantite supposed. He tried not to think about it. Or be too distracted by the throbbing.

"Yyyyeah," Cervantite said uncertainly, pulling himself to his feet as he eyed Axinite. "I'm okay."

He'd called a General King here... What, for this girl? Cervantite's head swiveled to where she was trapped against the wall. This senshi who'd bloodied him and didn't even use her magic? What did Rakovanite care about her for? Especially when there was... "Uh, the other guy?" He canted his head to peer around those standing closest to him, gaze scanning for the crumpled body of that other senshi. "So, he's...?" He edged uncertainly.

----

She would have killed him. Rakovanite's focus was intent on the girl, now that she was still. She would have beaten Cervantite to death with a beer bottle, and that was not the wishy-washy, pitiful, pacifist tactics he was most familiar with from the White Moon. It might have been nice to see what her magic was, to know if it was worth anything, but regardless, killing her seemed like a waste of an opportunity.

Maybe her comrade would have acted in a similar fashion, Rakovanite supposed, as he uncurled his fingers from the starseed to stare down at it, but the window of observation had been limited while two of them were still actively attacking.

One was fine.

"We will survive," he answered quietly, stepping near to Cervantite and picking at his hair to get a better look at the seeping wound on his head. If it was anywhere else, it would certainly be nothing, and his little brother's skull was probably the thickest of anyone Rakovanite had ever known, but given the General King's question, Rakovanite had to assume it must matter to Axinite that these things not be left unattended. "I will take him to a medic after, to be sure."

But firstly, since they were already here and it would likely only take a handful of seconds- He notched his head in the White Moon Senshi's direction. "I want the girl."

Axinite’s eyes drifted from the agents to the girl, and when he was assured that they would survive, he approached her. He wasn’t unkind, but he wasn’t one to waste time, and slipped his hand into her chest to search for her starseed.

It was easy to find; he’d done enough of these that it’s like he could feel them calling to him. He cradled her starseed in his hand, gently. They were fragile things, and taking the Chaos was never easy. She seemed unconscious already, so maybe it was a small mercy to her.

“Is there something special about her?” he asked, as he began to pump a steady stream of Chaos into her, pushing it deep into every corner of her starseed, claiming it. He’d take a soldier over a corpse any day, but not everyone thought the same thing when it came to Senshi.

Sometimes it was a risk. Sometimes they rebelled. Sometimes they resented the change, sometimes they lashed out.

Sometimes, they just came home.

Through concussion and the throbbing pain of her face, Pan just barely clung to some form of consciousness and even that grasp was questionable. It was easier to drift in the dark, Or at least, it was. Her drifting was interrupted was a surging, pulsing and painful new darkness.

Without truly waking, her body fought back as best it could, thrashing feebly and simply trying to get away. And within her chest, her starseed screamed out and Pan's throat echoed the sound, shrieking in pain and trying to reject what was happening.

Except it was so hard to fight and in her dazed and drifting state, she stood no chance of truly pushing back. And after a few moments, she relaxed instinctively, sinking back into concussed calm. A few breaths later and her starseed even stopped screaming, lapsing into an odd and wearied acceptance.

Her eyelids fluttered and she thought she could see figures standing over her, she dismissed it as a dream and as Chaos claimed her, she drifted back into the darkness.

Cervantite's wide gaze flit from Rakovanite, to the General King, to the girl they had trapped. He got what was happening, to the extent that he understood how it was described and was at least somewhat familiar with how being corrupted felt. He rubbed a hand over his chest as the White Moon senshi's screams bounced off the concrete walls around them.

But if he put even a single shred of thought into what they were actually doing, why they were doing it, what it meant, how it affected anyone else...

He preferred not to think about it.

The most important thing was that Cervantite liked being a senshi, and enjoyed doing these impossible feats with other people like him, so the 'why' and 'how' didn't really need to be dwelled on. It was just better to push the thoughts aside and accept that he wasn't offended about another corrupt joining the fold. Even if he hadn't been all that thrilled with how she'd acted toward him. Maybe it'd be different when they were on the same side.

"So... What happens to her now?" He prompted as she sagged quietly back as the chaos took her.

----

"Special?" Rakovanite parroted, tipping his head quizzically to the side as he blinked at Axinite. He thought it was a given that all senshi were "special:" one-of-a-kind flowers that the universe favored above all others because it felt like it, giving blessings to souls who did little more than simply exist on a planet at a time. "No more so than any other, I suppose. She fought. With virtually no preamble."

"I find that preferable to the majority who introduce themselves with pretentious morality and have the audacity to act like the fabric of the cosmos hinges on the good they spread by merely existing."

He moved closer to the senshi, to stand at Axinite's side as he regarded the girl through dark eyes that only hinted at piqued curiosity. He had met Cybele, but only after Sylvite and a handful of others had had opportunities to introduce her to Negaspace and her new life in it. He'd never had opportunity to see the immediate effects of being forced from Order. "But we have not been formally introduced. I know little about her other than that. She did not so much as give her name."

Axinite watched the Senshi, mindful of her deteriorating condition. Her outfit changed, she changed, and when he had pushed the last bit of chaos into her--when her starseed could take no more--he carefully slid his hand from her chest.

“Perhaps she will make a good addition, then. There are many among us that try the diplomatic approach.” He had no reproach for this effort, and in all likelihood Axinite seemed as if he might have tried to talk before fighting, himself.

If he ever left his office to do so.

Instead, he let himself be summoned for tasks such as this--or in times of great need.

“In any case, we’ll see what we can make of her. With us, she won’t be left to meander the darkness alone. We’ll give her the resources she needs to succeed,” he answered Cervantite. “She’s in a better place now. And Metallia will appreciate anyone willing to fight for their cause.

He looked down at the senshi and tried to assess the damage. “...I want to make sure she’s looked after, though. Rakovanite, would you be willing to help guide her as she adjusts? I’ll make sure she has full resources available. You don’t have to decide immediately. I think we should get her to the infirmary just to make sure she’s alright. And you too, Cervantite. I don’t like head wounds. I’d feel better if we had the all-clear for you.”
