Far enough away from the goings on that no sound or sight of the hunting officers could be seen, was a smallish pocket between the rocks, the walls of it soaring high enough even a tall human could not reach the top unaided. The sides of them were smooth, offering no purchase, and only a slim crack, enough to drag a body through, offered access.
Silence. Lack of sound pressed down unnaturally like a weighty blanket, offering little clue about the world outside of this small space. Light was sparse... barely filtering in from over and around the rocks, casting the area in a gloomy half darkness.
Those who woke up in this small spot would find themselves... alone, and possibly confused about what had gotten them there. And exhausted. What energy they had had before was drained now, though perhaps it would take someone experienced in the process to recognize what had happened to them. It would make a lot of physical activity hard, increasing the difficulty of escaping... whatever this was.
Escape, and returning to the rest of the group, was likely high on the priority list, but any movement towards the entrance was met with the sounds of... something, moving outside. The scrape of limbs against rock, the low hiss of something that waited, and watched.
A faint glow, the color a sickly yellow-green, grew as whatever it was came closer...Quote: This thread is for those kidnapped during the event! No harm has come to the officers beyond a bit of energy draining. They are free to attempt escape (and will most likely succeed easily, unless you'd like to stay for plot reasons). Those who stick around will have their own role to play in part three of the event, which Strick will outline.

[Super Sailor Fulgurite]HP: 65/75 The ********, he was alive, Fulgurite dully realized, as he slowly blinked open bleary green eyes and took in the environment around him. Didn't seem to be anyone else. Was also a bit difficult to see, though at least his eyes had long since adjusted to how ******** dark it was-- He came to a sitting position with a groan, lifting his body with some struggle and getting himself at least into a sitting position. He was alive, but he couldn't help the horrible sensation that he wouldn't be alive here for long. For one, he was a senshi. For another, he was alone. Fulgurite knew, at least, what training said; senshi did not go into the Rift. Senshi did not go into the Rift alone. Now he was in the Rift. And alone. This was a really ******** dumb idea. He got onto his feet and nearly stumbled in the process. He groaned. How the ******** was he supposed to get out of here in this state? Fulgurite raked his hand through his hair -- thankful he had taken Kamacite's word and chopped it shorter -- and tried to debate where the hell the rest of his party went. He would have assumed up, but clearly, the fall had already knocked him out; the only exit he saw that he was capable of taking was a crack in the wall in front of him. Alright. Guess he had to go that way. Fulgurite shuddered at the sounds that accompanied his attempts to head out, but he kept pushing in that direction, seeing no other option and wanting the ******** back to safety, ASAP.

Youma LuminousThe hiss grew louder as feet approached the crack that led out of the space between the rocks. Something had fallen from somewhere up above... right into the little nest it had made for itself. Had it damaged the food it had already hidden there?
Long, spindly fingers curled around the edge of the rock and then a pale green, frilled head poked slowly into the open, blocking exit from the cache. Light glowed from pores across the strangely portioned face and another bobbed before it, hanging from a long tendril. Its mouth moved as it hissed, and there was something a bit wrong about that too.
"What? What? Mmm... Ssssssensssssshi..." It felt the power radiating off this one and it hunched down, going deadly still as the white slits of its eyes opened a bit, hinting at the truly enormous orbs the lids hid.

[Super Sailor Fulgurite]HP: ******** should have expected something to jump out at him, but the long, inhumanly long fingers took him by surprise as he took a step back. The head that poked in afterward made him more deeply, viscerally uncomfortable, and he did not enjoy the way the creature's head bobbed or the way it was looking at him and blocking his way out. He didn't really want to have to dust any youma -- by himself, all that would do was draw more attention. It clearly recognized him as a senshi, which was probably bad. "Uh." Yes, brilliant ******** response, Fulgurite. "Can I go? I'd like to go." Go where? He didn't know. Not here, preferably. Hopefully maybe where some part of his party went.

It made a low, grumbling hiss, staring unblinkingly at the human as the little fins about its face flexed and fanned.
For a long time, it didn't respond to his question, only stared and breathed and fanned. Was it thinking? It was hard to tell, when it's strange face didn't really display proper emotions. It was similarly hard to tell if it was displeased or not, though the sound might have been some hint. The long, green tendrils that draped from its skull twitched and writhed, moving over each other like snakes, or... tentacles? Possibly.
"No." It said finally, its eyelids drooping. It shifted it's weight further into the opening, but only a fraction, most of its body still mostly behind the cover of the rock where it was, arguably, safer. What little could be seen was covered with flat, dull scales in that same sort of pale blue-green, more frills at its hips. More lights ran down its limbs, glowing faintly.
"I'm... hungry." It gurgled again, the sound wet and deep down in its thin throat. "You... are food."
The sound it made then was rougher, rasping, and it made its body shake. Amusement seemed to color its voice.
"Stay. Relax." It said as it reached out a long, spindly arm towards him, waving grasping, clawed fingers. "Humans trespass. I catch. Miiiiine."

[Super Sailor Fulgurite]HP: 65/75 Oh, he did not like the sound of that, the look of that, the presence of whatever horrifying thing this was. It was not his interest to become youma s**t, as it turned out. Warily, he backed away, trying to look for a path around the youma that apparently had decided he should stay, rest, and become a meal. "Actually, don't think I will." Fulgurite did not like the nasty sound that just burbled from its throat. He also didn't like the long, spindly fingers. Not a bit. Maybe the youma would slip in and he could just, uh, go around it. Or something. "Not yours. Not anyone's. I'm just gonna..." he glanced around, trying to locate an exit that wasn't being blocked by some weird tentacle-haired fish youma, "******** leave, and uh, good luck finding some other food. I'm too lanky anyway. You won't enjoy eating me."

The rasping, burbling sound got louder, its emaciated shoulders bobbing as it crouched like Golum behind its safe rock. His fear seemed to please it, making it bolder and more restless.
"I like food." It assured him, though it hardly cared if that was any comfort. "Rip, tear, crunch, shred..."
Its voice dropped into something sing song as it listed out all the wonderful things and sounds and sensations it loved so much about the fleshy things it caught. It didn't get them often, not down here in the rift, but whenever it got to run free in that strange, loud, bright place up above? Bliss. And now the fleshy things had come down here, where it was in its element, and it could truly do as it pleased...
"All mine..."
Suddenly, its mouth opened to expose the long, curving needles of its teeth, but the opening didn't stop where the lips of its mouth stopped... the seam that ran back from the corners of its mouth parted as well, the gaping maw opening wider and wider, showing more and more of those teeth, till the head seemed it would break completely in half. The lids that had covered its eyes raised as well, exposing more and more of the milky white, curving surface, till what was left of its face was dominated by those bulging orbs, like some nightmare from the dark depths of the sea.

Captain PrehniteHP: 63The change in texture of rock as he'd slid down, from writhing living hole in the gem encrusted cave, to rough, and straight into unnaturally smooth slickness that made his skin crawl. The landing was jarringly poor - thrown off in it by the extra weight provided by his single passenger. Prehnite silently cursed the smaller gemstome youma who'd pinched in - clung and piggybacked along. Attempted to pry it loose from around his ankle while he figured out where he was.. The silence was deafening, the walls sheer and lacking in any purchase to the touch, he was scraped and bruised, but alive. Alive yes - but also nearly blind on top of it all, there was so little light in the place. At least he wasn't youma food. The exhaustive sigh for that, because it wouldn't matter if he'd survived the youma, if he then died in a dank, dark, pit from something else... "Hello!?" a shout into the void, and why not invite the whole of the place down on himself at this point? He still needed to find fulgurite..catch up with Feldsparr and Sylvite if the hole had dropped them near enough to the same place. The fear that it had branches and had sucked them off elswhere. General Sylvite Sometimes Sylvite liked the sensation of falling. Since her upgrade, she’d been playing around with flinging herself off of higher and higher buildings and teleporting into the deep end of the lake just a second or two before she hit pavement. She didn’t like this. She didn’t like the way that she tumbled and crashed against rocks on the way down. She didn’t like the way that stalagmites ripped at her skirt and gloves. It really didn’t help that she was pretty sure that like half the rocks were youma. The only thought replaying in her mind was the way the cave above had turned into a swarm in just a couple seconds, and the way that all of them had been closing in on Rakovanite. Eventually, she stopped falling and collapsed in a heap of fabric on another rocky floor. She was gasping. The fingers of one hand were still wrapped super tightly around the hilt of one of her daggers. Her other hand was empty. If she’d even managed to grab on to Feldspar, they’d gotten separated during the fall. The lamp youma, on the other hand, which right now mostly just looked like way too many glowing eyes, was still firmly attached to her leg. It just let out a little giggle. Sylvite gave a grumpy little huff and tried to push it off of her with her free hand, but she didn’t try too hard, because it turned out the glow actually helped her see things. Like, there was a person a few feet away from her. Hopefully one who was still actually human. “Hi,” she said back to them, mostly sounding tired. “It’s me. Sylvite.” She squinted into the shadows. “Who’s there?”

Captain PrehniteHP: 63Oh thank ********** another person - the mental relief at that, hearing another faintly female voice filter out through the dimness. Emerald gaze swiveled over the shadows before landing on a heaped shape a slight ways away. A wonder they hadn't landed on top of each other, with how hard it was to gauge distance and size of the place in the grimly filtered light. The glowing pinpoints attached to her form helped Prehnite find his way. He crawled for a portion of it once he'd kicked the gemstone youma firmly free to scuttle off to...wherever rock youma scuttled too...Using his hands to map the floor before him; not trusting his legs just yet on the rocky and uneven terrain. "It's Prehnite...are you glowing?" the pause for that, knowing that she'd said she was the General, and then the offsetting glow. He halted just shy of reaching her, cautious enough to pause an arms length away and ask - "Did we get Feldsparr?" and his daggers had been lost to the void, after failing to do more than half blind the crystalline creature topside - shoving the senshi into a bubble - leaping into the void - knowing they were a summons away didn't make him any less uneasy at not having them in his grasp at that moment.

[Super Sailor Fulgurite]HP: 65/75 Oh, absolutely not. Fulgurite's blood ran cold. No, no, no, no-- Fulgurite bolted as far away from the youma as he could get, not caring about anything but wanting to be absolutely nowhere near the apparent anglerfish of hell that wanted to eat him for lunch.

The display produced the intended effect and the youma practically shivered with delight when it's prey bolted away. It lunged forward, reaching for the senshi, only to be drawn up short as something else came plummeting down from the upper floors. Whatever, or whoever, it was made a ruckus as it bumped and scraped down the sloping walls, landing heavily on the dusty floor of the cache.
Startled, the youma jerked back, its mouth and eyes closing as it scurried behind cover again. Whatever that was, it was not inclined to stick around to see if it was hostile. Dark, knobby feet carried it around the corner, where it ducked down into a much smaller, much less threatening looking mound of scales and limbs. Only once the sound stopped, replaced by low human voices, did it dare to peek around the edge of the wall by the exit again, squinting into the half-light.
"Bad..." It hissed in annoyance and rebuke. "Hungry. Did not catch you... My food. Miiiiiineeee...."
It gurgled and groaned as it shifted about restlessly, unwilling to try its luck again just yet. One boy senshi, obviously terrified of it, was fine... but these two felt stronger, making them much more of a threat. Spindly fingers curled around the rock and shifted restlessly, scraping its claws.(( sorry for the double quote ))

General SylvitePrehnite. Okay. Now that she was looking, Sylvite could barely make out a little bit of purple hair from the youma-light. She recognized the name as one of the captains that had been in their interrogation squad, and she was glad he was alive, but he also wasn't quite who she'd been looking for. He wasn't Fulgurite. He wasn't Feldspar. "I'm not glowing. It's a youma, I think," she said, nodding at her leg. The creature finally started untangling herself from around Sylvite, several buttons in one hand and a few scraps of translucent pink cape fabric in the other. She tilted her head to look over at Prehnite with five glowing eyes, and only two of those eyes blinked. "Hi," said the youma, her tone flat like Sylvite's had just been. "But she's not attacking us or anything so that's good I guess?" said Sylvite. The light was pretty helpful down here and suddenly she didn't think she wanted this youma to go too far. "Feldspar?" she called, starting to try to sit up, but before she could actually look all that hard, she caught sight of another glowing thing. Sylvite couldn't see all the details of it, since it was mostly behind a rock, but the flash of tentacle things and what looked suspiciously like an anglerfish lure and the fact that it was definitely talking about food told her everything she really needed to know. " Hey," she said, holding a knife up. "No eating anyone. Go away." She was supposed to be able to order these things, wasn't she? Maybe not the swarm earlier, but this one didn't seem quite as riled up.

Lieutenant Feldspar - 43hp maybe? Not actually sure.
He could deal with pain. Feldspar could deal with pain and darkness and being alone in the Rift with monsters trying to eat him or whatever. He could deal with it. He'd done it before.
He was shaking. It was the absolute first thing he became aware of. He was shaking so much he could barely convince his limbs to move. They were heavy, cold, stiff, wet. Where was that from? Feldspar cracked open his eyes to bleary darkness. Everything swung impressively out of place, so he shut them again with a soft groan. His head throbbed. His palms stung. His legs- Ah, it wouldn't matter if there was anything going on there, or not. He could survive this.
He'd done it before.
Feldspar drew an arm in and squinted at it to try and focus. Scrapes littered every inch of exposed skin, and much of what wasn't. His coat and trousers had shredded in places, suggesting that he'd probably smashed against something or other on the way down. His hands were sticky and stinging. Cool blood slid down into one of his eyes. He could do this, he could do this. He'd done it before.
He shoved an arm under himself, lurching up and trying to survey dark and desolate surroundings. "Sylvite!" He shouted, unsure if she or anyone else was near.
If he turned just so, he could see glowy do-bobs. And figures. Blurry and shadowed shapes that may have been people. Or may not have been, for everything that was down here. He puffed out a grunt, twisted upright enough to drop his back against a smooth wall- like a fishbowl. His head tipped to the other side. A whole little clearing, like an empty fishbowl.
Trapped here again...

Captain PrehniteHP: 63Curious - Prehnite cocked his head and stared down at the gently glowing youma. Certainly it didn't seem any more harmful than the rock crab had - a boon that it cast some sort of light source throughout. Made it easier to find Sylvite at least. "Maybe it's like some of the others..." and Prehnite couldn't help but miss Iolanthe again, think of her amidst all of this, how not all the youmalgia were directly threatening things, when met in the right sorts of circumstances. A sigh, and as she called out for Feldspar - hissed at something off in the distance to leave - Prehnite focused on calling out for Fulgurite - "Fulgurite!!" let the call echo and die through the dense air around them - and he waited for a response - kept a side eye on Sylvite and the docile button pilfering creature at her hem and heel. Then started to rummage through his backpack. They were hunting blind - and he was getting sick of it - not ready to light up a whole a** lantern for fear of what might reveal itself in the dark - Prehnite found his journal, a collection of etchings of flora and fauna, and linoleum adhered pages full of dried, and pressed plant samples that sat between those pages. He'd hoped to have a chance to catalogue things during downtime. Hoped to find something that would lead him to Iolanthes den within the rift, if there'd been time for it.. Her lovely crystal flowers. The spiral binding that held a penlight - flashlight and pen in one - because what better way to draw in the dark of the rift than with such? Pulled it out and clicked it on - swept the soft narrow point of light across the cavern - hoped the soft lumened glow would catch on the blue of Fulgurites bright robes...Feldspars bright reds.
