Backdated early MaySylvite looked at the papers in front of her and grinned. Getting this information had been a pain in the butt. She'd ended up in a scuffle with a particularly determined basic senshi, figured out her magic, and then teleported away. That hadn't been the bad part. The hard part had been going down to the park where it all happened in the nights that followed, powered up at first, just for long enough to get a taste of aura before she powered down to get close, and she'd found the same person, although just for a second before she dashed off again. The General aura had apparently spooked her. That meant on later nights, she'd gone back out powered down and brought out homework that she pretended to focus on. She'd carefully recorded the times and dates of any time she saw this senshi, until she had a decent idea of her patrol route. Eventually, one Thursday at 10PM, right when Alexa thought the senshi should be heading home, she hid in some bushes like an actual, proper spy, and it happened. The senshi powered down and headed home, and Alexa was able to follow her. What happened next was a lot of Googling and, with help, a little bit of hacking, but now all of the senshi's information was laid out on Sylvite's desk in color coded gel pen. Now it was time to delegate, and Sylvite had the perfect Captain in mind for the job. " Rakovanite," she said, singsong, into her communicator, "You around? Can I summon you? I've been wanting to try it." There was a slight pause while she shuffled through the papers for the sixth time, before she added, "Oh. Not for no reason! I've got a mission for you."

Draining was easily the most inconvenient and boring chore required of him. Even if it wasn't as bad as when he'd been a lieutenant, Rakovanite still found it particularly unappealing and dull. He no longer had to physically touch anyone (a solid boon), but the task always carried that anticipation of waiting: waiting for someone to step in and tell him he 'shouldn't be out doing this' or trying to prevent him from continuing. Things were at least more interesting, then.
But the anticipation, and the occasional disappointment when no one appeared to stop him, were harder to get through. Difficult and necessary.
He tried to complete as much as possible on the weekends, so that he wouldn't have to be bothered with the chore during the week, when he had his actual civilian job to tend to. Admittedly, he wasn't accustomed to much correspondence when he was out. Rakovanite twitched at the sound of his communicator pen receiving a message, startled by the soft blipping, and may have been further surprised by the sing-song pixie voice that greeted him.
Sylvite had never messaged him before.
Oh. Right. General Sylvite. He'd had the fortune of hearing of her promotion from Feldspar, and it hadn't been all that surprising of a revelation. Honestly, it may have been more shocking that it hadn't happened sooner, given Sylvite's success with certain Order targets. She did have that power now, to pull subordinates to her, and though Rakovanite wasn't thrilled about being her test run... He couldn't deny it was the most convenient method.
Energy-conserving for him, and expedient for her. It was hard to find a reason to argue, particularly when her words promised him an opportunity to do more than just draining. He cleared his throat and rumbled quietly into the communicator, "You may."

Sylvite smiled when she heard Rakovanite's voice. She grinned when he gave her his permission. While she was pretty sure that she could technically summon somebody whether they wanted it or not, that would kinda go against her whole thing of not becoming one of those Generals. Still, she was really excited to try out her new powers. She was excited about the mission, too. "Okay," she said into the pen. "Let's do this." She talked fast, the way she always did when she was excited. She squeezed her eyes shut and did her best to picture Van. His haircut was pretty unique, with it being green and all off to one side. That was easy to remember. His serious eyes were also pretty unforgettable. She wasn't as sure about his uniform. It was purple or something, but that was as far as she got. She'd only seen him as a Captain once, after all. She repeated his name in her head a few times for good measure. Then, mentally, she tugged, as if he was one of her weapons. In a way, she guessed he kinda was. When he opened her eyes, the real Rakovanite was there in front of her. Sylvite gasped and clasped her hands in front of her. "It worked!" she said, still grinning. "Also, hi."

He had been summoned before, though not especially frequently, if he was being honest. When Rakovanite was a lieutenant, his general had mostly let him manage himself. She'd summoned him once, maybe twice? But he'd otherwise gotten his few rides to Negaspace alongside someone. Once he'd upgraded, his new general, Lashenite had also summoned him a handful of times, but typically told him where to be and expected him to be there. He could teleport on his own; assistance shouldn't be required.
So Rakovanite had never much been granted the opportunity to become familiar with it. He wasn't even sure it was possible to be so accustomed that it wasn't a bizarre experience, regardless.
He caught himself holding his breath as Sylvite's voice spoke briskly through the communicator. She was decent enough to give warning, a luxury he knew not all generals offered, but it felt unexpected still as a sort of pressurized sensation gripped him, and he was shucked down right in front of the pink-haired general. He inhaled a shaky little breath and had to viscerally keep himself from smearing a hand down the front of his coat, as if that would do something to stabilize him.
"What do you suppose happens when it does not work?" He offered as she beamed and clapped her hands. The most likely and reasonable guess was probably 'nothing.' As most things they attempted to do without enough power, the worst that could happen was probably a little exhaustion, a headache, and wasted effort.
But them somehow seemed... personal, in a way? Pulling on someone else and hoping they appeared in front of you? Rakovanite wouldn't necessarily be surprised if the worst outcome involved having bits spliced off and ending up in other places. He didn't really know how the magic of their teleportation worked. But it probably didn't matter. Sylvite was more than capable. "I am very happy it did," he said more quietly. And then, because now that she was before him, he could see her in all her new power, the tiniest etching of a smile played at his lips.
Her dark coat was floor length and billowing, with a shimmery, transparent fabric playing at her heels. Sylvite still didn't look menacing by any stretch of the imagination, but her aura felt like a radiant pulse, shoving in its intensity. "It suits you very well," Rakovanite murmured softly.

He was asking a valid question, and since she was an Information General now, it was kinda her job to think about any and all valid questions. It didn’t matter if the General part was so new that her head started feeling all warm and sparkly every time she thought about her rank. She could be excited about it and still take her job seriously at the same time. “Like, you wouldn’t show up. That’s what I was worried about.” She paused in the clapping and laced her fingers together instead, for a second, chewing her lip. “I doubt that would actually be a problem, though. That didn’t take much energy. I just, like, hadn’t tried it out before, yeah?” She went quiet for a good five seconds, considering possibilities and going through her memory as quickly as possible before she added, “Don’t worry. I haven’t heard of anything bad happening. No, like, teleportation mishaps straight out of grimdark Star Trek fanfiction. It just works.” Was he the type to get all caught up on the physics of it, she wondered. He was so stiff and serious. Was that what physicists were like? Was he a physicist, or at least someone who got into science? She got knocked out of that train of thought when she saw him actually smiling. That got a grin out of her. She twirled, too, to show off just how swishy and glittery her new skirts were. “I think so, too,” she said. “Still almost can’t believe I actually got promoted, but I guess I did.” The grin only grew. “Oh, and there’s more good news,” she said, and bounced over to behind her desk where she picked up a sheet of paper from the top of one of the stacks. “I figured out someone’s civilian identity! Like, a senshi!”
