Destiny City is in the throws of it's Star Festival! The goal of positivity and community service has been a rousing success, and now the city council wants to follow a more whimsical trajectory. They have partnered with Destiny City Astronomy Association to host a stargazing party on one weekend of the festival. It is picnic style, so families and groups of friends have brought their own picnic baskets and blankets for a lovely dinner in the park before the sun goes down. The Astronomy Association has even provided small telescopes for rental this evening. As the sun sets, the lights in the park and on black surrounding the park are turned down lower to allow for a clearer view of the brilliant night sky. Be careful about moving around! It can be hard to see where you are going, and run the risk of tripping over some unsuspecting neighbor! How This Will Work:Answering questions will earn you points. Each answer has a value from 0 - 2. Please keep track of your point total at the top of your posts. The player(s) with the most points at the end of the game earn an IC Item! Rules:1: RP is not required, however, it is encouraged. If the total word count of all of your posts is 500 words or more this will count as a regular rp2: If you want to participate, but the game has already started, that's fine. You simply will not be able to claim points for prompts which have already been posted. You will begin with the most recent one. However, if you want to post a short summary post where in which you choose options which best fit your character you may. They will just all be worth 0 points. 3: If you miss a prompt, you may skip it OR post a response which will automatically be worth 0 points. 4: Can't choose an option? No problem! Feel free to use an RNG to decide what you will do! This can be done on one, several, all, or none of the prompts! Just be aware that if you use an RNG, you cannot choose not to adhere to the option it chooses for you! For instance, if you use the RNG and it spits out option 2, but you really don't want to use that one, too bad! You're stuck with option 2.

Opening PromptThe forecasters predicted a clear and warm night, and for once they were right! And if ever there was a night for them to be right, it was this one. The stars shine down as bright as fairy lights, and the moon casts her serene glow on all who cared to gaze upon her. Destiny City Park is crowded with people, all sprawled out on blankets with picnic baskets and various types of telescopes for the evening activity. Stargazing. You have a telescope yourself. Not a fancy one, but powerful enough to see most celestial objects. The ground beneath your back is cool and firm, supporting you as you peered through your scope to the heavens above. Whatever passes through your mind then did so like mist, drifting in and out of its own free will. If you try to hold onto anything, it passes through your grasp, only to reemerge shifted and changed elsewhere in your mind. Your eyelids are feeling heavy. The night is so warm, punctuated every now and again by a cool breeze that keeps you from sweating. The murmur from the crowd paired with the song of night-thriving creatures calms you into a supreme state of contentment. Nothing, absolutely nothing, could compare to this moment right here. Quote: There are no instructions for this post! You are free to introduce your character and settle in. The next prompt will be posted in 24 hours. If you choose not to respond to this introduction post, there is no consequence -- you will face no reduction in points!

Evren PorterEvren sitting on her blanket lounged with her cat, Regi, on her lap. "Mmmm it's such a nice night." The stars shining above them and a simple cheap telescope nearby... She could say because of a lot of recent events lately she has become more interested in the celestial objects in the sky. Scruffing her cat's head she smiled and moved to pick him up in her arms. "Let me know when you're hungry okay." The cat just laid limply with a grumpy look on its face. Quote: =w= heelllooo feel free to come rp with me i dont bite

Arian LaithWhilst stargazing wasn't something that Arian would personally count amongst his hobbies, the invite to come out and watch the stars at the stargazing party that the city council was throwing in conjunction with the Destiny City Astronomy Association had come from a friend. It had felt a little strange to be out as Arian rather than Athene, but the evening certainly seemed like it would be a good night for star viewing what with the clear skies and the evening warmth. Not owning a telescope himself, Arian had paused in order to rent one of the small telescopes that were available to rent, figuring that he may as well do things properly - but the stand had appeared more popular than he thought it would be, with the knock-on effect meaning that he had ended up having to queue for far longer than planned– And whilst he had texted a quick apologetic message mentioning that he was running a little late Arian was hoping that he wouldn't be tooo late as he made his way to the agreed on meeting place. Sleet Tempest Snape Hope this works as a start Sleet, but lmk if I need to tweak anything

Noelle FischerIt was a beautiful night out, that was for sure. With all the festivities, Noelle thought it might be good to get out and get some fresh air. Joining in for an evening of star gazing sounded like fun. After standing in line for telescope rentals, and then making her way ever so carefully through the crowds, she finally found a perfect spot. She spread out her blanket, and set out the the star-gazing equipment and picnic basket. “Hmm…” she mumbled, staring at the telescope. “Sooo how do I...?” Honestly, she had rented one without really considering the fact she would have no idea how to use it. “I should have paid more attention to this sort of thing during class….” she sighed, fiddling with it for awhile. Finally she flopped back on her blanket, looking defeated. She gazed up at the sky above her, deciding she’d just have to settle for the traditional method of star-gazing instead. “Bah who needs telescopes anyway,” she huffed. Next to her was the picnic basket she had brought. Listening closely she could hear purring within. She leaned over and opened the lid, peeking inside. A fluffy white maine coone with an eyepatch was curled up on top of her food! “Heyyy,” she quietly hissed, “Don’t sleep on that.” But the cat snored away, and eventually Noelle gave up, shutting the lid. She was happy she had met this particular cat. It had changed her life for the better she thought. As she looked back up at the sky, her mind began to wander. It almost felt like a sense of calm had come over her. Complete serenity. She began to close her eyes. If someone didn’t stop her, she would probably end up asleep too, just like her cat; completely and totally relaxed. Quote: open for interaction now, if anyone is interested! <3

Sachio SugiyamaSachio hadn't planned on bringing the tiny telescope with him tonight. He had just wanted to gaze at the stars with his own eyes and without the interruption of the city lights. When his sister had heard about it, and had pouted and whined that she would be unable to go because of her work, she had given him her telescope that she had and made sure to tell him to take some pictures. She even teased him a bit about possibly bringing his girlfriend, and he ignored her, leaving to go back to his apartment and get ready for the night. Luckily for everyone who wanted to participate the night was clear, the weather was warm, and there was a slight breeze, making it so that even at night it wasn't too hot. The mosquitoes were still there though, which was annoying. But he had prepared himself with some mosquito spray at least. He still heard some high pitched-squealing though that they would make as they passed by his ears. He had tried to get there early enough to get a spot mostly to himself. He didn't want to be surrounded by a bunch of other people, lest they decided to try to start talking to him. He just wasn't in the mood for having a conversation with a bunch of strangers. One person was fine, more than that though and he was leaving! Luckily, nothing of the sort had happened yet, and he had been able to gaze up at the sky in peace. The few times he had felt like sleeping, he had been awoken to the squeal-buzzing of mosquitoes and wondering if he should move. ((Sachio is open for interaction.))

When did you close your eyes? It felt like you blinked, but it was too long to be just that. You still have the telescope to your eye so you can’t have been really asleep… was this one of those microsleeps you heard about somewhere? Whatever it was, you blink a few times and refocus yourself, ready to search for a particular star you’re interested in. You blink once. Twice. And suddenly your vision is filled with an eye. But not one like you’ve ever seen before. The color seems to be… shifting. The same way the colors in an opal or a pearl shifts color. Someone is peering through the other end of your telescope! Option 1:Startled, you cry out and flinch away, tossing your telescope to the side as though the eye was inside that. Option 2:Stare back. Whether it’s because you haven’t quite grasped what was happening or you genuinely aren’t affected, you stay still, blinking back at the eye that is staring at you. Option 3:Fear or anger cause you to lash out, fists and feet kicking to get the thing staring back at you away. Quote: Chose one option as your answer! Please be sure to post the number at the top of your post along with your point total.

EunKyung Lee(Going with Option 1!)After her cousin, Seung, had expressed his worry over her attending the stargazing event on her own, the city was dangerous and anything big in the city always went wrong, she had asked out two friends in order to keep her company. She also wasn't sure if either was free so she'd sort of invited them both. She knew they'd both arrived, having gotten a text from Arian as she was seated waiting for him, but she also knew Sachio had arrived.
But now to find Sachio and hope he didn't mind Arian being here as well, it wasn't like tonight was a date. She wanted to spend the evening with friends!
Seated on a blanket, she had gotten a telescope just for this event, EunKyung pulled out her cell phone and sent a message to her boyfriend to let him know where she was. She also, after a moments hesitation, added that she had invited a friend as well, and that they were here, they were like them...with a night time job. It was the best way to let him know it was another senshi who would be with them, if Sachio was ok with joining them tonight.
Shifting towards her telescope, to look up at the evening sky, as she waited for a text response from Sachio. It seemed that when she blinked, trying to adjust to using a telescope for the first time, she blinked for too long...maybe she was a bit tired? She didn't feel it though....but maybe.
But when she opened her eyes she was looking back at an eye - not the night sky. Screaming, perhaps a bit too loudly as people did turn to look at her, she fell over backward onto her blanket. Who the hell?! No one was there!
She had, by accident, kicked the telescope over. Sitting up she moved to set it back up, while hoping no one thought her insane...or something similar.

Liliane BensonOption 2, please!Stargazing hadn't been something she'd ever tried before, but she imagined it would be similar to cloud watching in the sense that depending on one's mindset...you could lose yourself in the moment.
Given she was always up for new experiences she had taken it upon herself to at least try. Due to recent revelations she had come to realise that the world wasn't everything it appeared to be and neither was she. For all intents and purposes she came from up there, or she had in some distant life time. In a world where your afterlife was often defined but other things, there was a strange comfort to knowing that perhaps it wasn't quite so simple and didn't end so suddenly.
Unsurprisingly the telescope she had was nothing special, cheap and cheerful and handed to her at christmas one year. Like most temporary hobbies, the items in question had found themselves under the bed until this particular night. Drawn to the night sky (and it seemed like she wasn't the only one) she had dusted the box off, pulled it out and wandered to what she perceived as a good spot to watch from. It was there that she'd set it up and peered into the depths... Only to find she herself lost in the moment.
Had she fallen asleep?
That couldn't be right, she wasn't the best at sleeping in odd places and yet somehow - OH MY GOD!
She didn't exactly pull back in horror at what she had seen but an inner cry was certainly warranted as she came face to face with what could only be described as an eye. It was an eye in her telescope, or an eye in space, or was it an eye on her telescope? For some reason her mind couldn't quite disconnect from the face that the telescope was still very much here and the end of it was not poking out into the depths of space... it could simply see that far.
Her lips pursed and she soon found herself staring back at it, if she didn't move then maybe she would work out what it was without spoking it or maybe it would just go away on its own?
Either that or she was about to get eaten by a monster - now she knew those were real in some form as well anything was possible! Quote Lilian is open for interaction, she was just a bit late to the gathering!

Arian LaithChoice: Option 2The queue at the telescope stand should have perhaps provided fair warning, but the amount of people out to take in the stars had still managed to take Arian a little bit by surprise. That in itself would have made for difficulties in moving around, but organisers had also turned down the lights so that attendees could better see the stars - or at least Arian was assuming that organisers had done - with a side effect of making moving around even more difficult. In fact he had found himself almost stumbling over a woman with cat ( Evren). "I'm sorry" he said pausing momentarily. "I hope both you and your cat are okay." He had also passed by a red haired woman on her own ( Liliane) and a black-haired girl, also on her own ( Noelle) both of whom seemed to be pretty close to where EunKyung was sitting. Arian carefully picked his way past both of them not wanting a repeat of the woman that he had nearly stumbled over earlier, his lips quirked up in a small smile as he caught sight of Eunkyung. "Hi Eunkyung, sorry for being late" he said quietly as he got closer. "I hadn't expected the event to be quite so popular." It hadn't taken long for him to set up the blanket, or the cookies or the telescope, the warmth of the evening lulling Arian into a half-doze– Only to find himself waking up with a start wondering just when he'd fallen asleep. "I brought a few cookies" he said quietly, as he offered over the tin to Eunkyung "Would you like some?" Although some was a bit of a misnomer with the tin absolutely full to the top. He absently reached for the hired telescope and refocused it ready to maybe search for a few stars– He was absolutely not expecting the eye, shock having him hold the telescope frozen as he blinked back at the strange eye staring at him. Quote: Happy for anyone to interact with Arian, but please quote me if you do so I don't miss it

Nimue Clery Option 2
Perhaps Nimue hadn't been expecting the number of people out in the park tonight that she should have, but that was fine. There had still been plenty of spots to set up her stadium blanket and settle in for a night of stargazing. Finding one of them, she'd set up quickly and quietly, offering smiles to whomever looked at her, but ultimately staying quiet.
Once seated, she'd thrown herself onto her back and set the telescope she'd bought to her eye.It was so wonderful to see the stars and moon so clearly. Humming a little under her breath, she scanned the sky slowly, taking in all she could...
Jolting a little, Nimue widened her eyes and blinked. Oh hell, had she somehow fallen asleep with a telescope plastered to her face? Except, she didn't think she'd actually been asleep. Maybe she'd nodded off a tiny bit and her arm relaxing enough to let the telescope drop just a bit had snapped her back. That happened sometimes when she was playing with her phone while in bed at night.
So hey. Mystery solved. Blinking a few times to clear her eyes, Nimue shifted position and re-focused her telescope. She'd wanted to look at the constellations. She blinked again, adjusted herself, blinked again.
And saw someone? something? staring back. Well, she saw an opalescent-ish eye staring back. Freezing with shock and wondering if she hadn't fallen asleep after all and this was just some freaky lucid dreaming s**t, Nimue stared back. She wasn't sure what she was seeing, but given that it was far less disturbing than the nightmares she had regularly, it was a safe bet that whatever she was seeing hadn't quite hit the reactionary lizard brain yet. After all, it was just an eye. Eyes on their own couldn't really do a lot.

Evren PorterOption 2Evren blinked and then the next thing she knew she was almost trampled. "Ah, no pro... ah..." She blinked as the dark-haired person seemed to continue on his way. Evren got up and decided to follow. "Ah... it is you Arian... my it has been a long time since I saw you last..." It's probably been a year or two since Arian and Liryn had filled her in on a lot of her senshi duties at her parent's vet clinic. She considered them her mentors in a way... even though most of it still goes straight over her head. "Oh, we should catch up sometime!" She said only briefly before heading back over to her telescope and took a look through it... Ah, it’s an eye... Evren could only blink at the strange occurrence. litian Beahahaaha refrences to things I remeber

Nataniel Khellasati (Option 2)
If he didn't have to be here, he wouldn't be, or at least, that was what Nataniel kept telling himself. But now that night had fallen, it was much less reasonable of an excuse. He could blame a 'school project' as much as he liked during daylight hours, when his classmates flitted around him and about the festivities like incessant insects. Most of that had ended much closer to dusk, though, and now it was quite a bit later than that. Home wasn't particularly far, so he didn't even have the excuse of distance making him reluctant to leave.
It could only be his own laziness, and Nataniel was afraid to admit very few things about himself.
'Lazy' seemed fine, given the tone of the evening. Others milling about kept their voices to low, soft murmurs, and the sound instilled something more like a pleasant satisfaction, rather than an annoyance, as it otherwise might. He lay in the grass, something he did increasingly infrequently as he'd aged. Perhaps back when he was small and living in his parents' house, the locale of their home had made it seem calming to be outside.
Deeper in the city, as Nataniel lived now, he cared much less for the outdoors. He hadn't even planned to stay this time, as there didn't seem a benefit to doing so, but happenstance had it that one of the families gazing near him had an 'extra' telescope, and, seeing that Nataniel did not have one, sent one of their children to offer it to him alongside a small, golden star-shaped charm.
It was nice.
And that seemed so blatantly unusual to him that he couldn't just refuse. He was confused, for certain. No one gave anything away for free, but all the more reason to wait. And learn. And understand.
He took the telescope and leaned back in the grass and peered upward.
Of all the atypical things that night, neither did Nataniel particularly care about the stars. They were a fixture in the sky, but otherwise of little interest. To have a festival for them seemed... unnecessary, as he believed many of these types of city-wide events to be. Still, he couldn't deny the beauty of it, and the care taken, when the city shut most of its lights down just in honor of such a thing-
One of the stars blinked at him-
No, that was a foolish thought. Stars twinkled. Perhaps winked if one was really looking for an unusual descriptor, but this star- Or it wasn't a star. Too strangely colored to be the eye it resembled, but what else could it be? Reason dictated the simplest answer was often the truest... Nataniel tipped his head and peered back.
