Princess Cybele
Action: Standing firm, continuing the squishfest with varied success
Roll: 4

"I'm all right," Cybele told her husband when he told her not to do anything rash. She felt like she was doing fairly well at not starting any fights with the Negaverse. Being able to squish the bugs instead helped a lot with keeping her mind off of it.

Although, Siegfried seemed to be having a harder time with the kosopods. Wincing at the way that they were nibbling at him, Cybele whirled around and brought her makeshift flyswatter down on the one that was closest to him. "On it," she said. "This is a bit therapeutic, actually."

Just when she said that, the gravity had the gall to start shifting. Cybele's feet stayed planted, but she felt it in her stomach for a moment. She gagged once, then bit her lip and glanced around towards the others.

Steins had started floating away, but at least her partner was tall enough to catch her. Danube seemed to be doing her best, and Cybele offered her a nod of encouragement.

Unfortunately, the kosopods had started to float as well, and while Cybele continued to bat at them, she mostly just succeeded in pushing them around.

Connie, Squire of Chronos
Action: Rolled 1. Trying not to pull Belmont with her as she is lifted up into the zero gravity area. Distressed.

Another sob escaped as Connie was chewed on, but she felt hands pulling her up and away from the bugs. She gasped as Belmont lifted her up onto his shoulder, and grasped desperately to his arm he was using to keep her steady.

Oh… her cheeks felt very warm, and it wasn’t just because she was terrified of these little bitey creatures. She knew Belmont was strong, and he was a knight, but she hadn’t exactly been put up on someone’s shoulder before. And he was confident he could do the same with Targoviste too.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she sobbed, trying to do her best to keep her dress out of Belmont’s way as he crushed the gross little creatures. Normally she would feel sorry for them but… no, they were gross and too many of them all in the same area. Hard pass for her!

“Oh thank goodness,” she sighed in relief when the lights turned on. Except… she felt herself being lifted up. Even though she was holding onto Belmont, she was suddenly floating.

“Oh no, oh no! Oh, don’t hold onto me, I’m okay! We’re inside at least! Just please catch me if I fall,” she sobbed, hoping that Belmont and Targoviste had a chance to say safe on the ground. She would just… float around and push the kosopods away from her and hide behind her hands.

Corporal Naeria
Action: Floating Around, holding onto some kosopods
Roll: 1

One of the kosopods that she was holding might have wriggled its way out of her arms and back towards danger, but Naeria had two of them still, and her Source Stone had worked on them. They were no longer attempting to bite at her, or spit acid at her.

She had almost gotten them into one of the crates when the gravity shifted. Just like that, Naeria found herself pulled off of the ground, floating gently through the air of the museum. She managed to grab onto her two kosopods, holding them tight to her chest before she got pulled too far away from that bow, which was not also starting to float.

"I have you," she whispered to them. "I will keep you safe."

There were many other kosopods that were floating, and being thrown around through the air by the humans, The poor things. It broke Naeria's heart, but at least one of them came close to her, and she was able to catch it, and wrap her arms around that one, too, holding it close with the others.

Eternal Sailor Oberon of Adventure
Action: Rolled 1. Attempting to collect a few Kosopods in a box, but being distracted by the items inside. Floating.

He heard Oort call over to them. He was still with the corrupted senshi, but she seemed like she wasn’t going to do anything. She better not, otherwise he would have to make sure she paid for hurting his friend. At least Oort’s starseed was currently protected still, at the cost of weaker magic. He knew all too well what that was like, and part of him thought Oort was safer that way, anyway.

As for the Kosopods, he knew Perdita was right. They probably wouldn’t survive in subspace for very long. And if they did put them in there, everything else would probably be ruined.

“I want to try and save at least a few,” he told her, looking around for a container of some kind that didn’t look like it would be eaten through by the acid. Maybe he could distract them by giving them food.

He tried pulling out some crackers he had with him and scattered it on the ground as a distraction while he moved over to pry open a box--

And winced because he was hit with an overwhelming feeling of energy radiating from the items inside. Nothing that anyone else could feel, but from where his glove ended to reveal a bit of skin on his arm, he could see the scars from Caedus temporarily sparking.

“It’s fine,” he promised Perdita and pulled off one of his gloves to show her. He already told her that he went to Caedus and asked him for help. She knew that he could kind of feel the history of each item he touched, and the energy surrounding them. Being in a museum like this? It was likely to get overwhelming if he wasn’t careful.

“It’s not painful,” he promised. “These items hold a lot of feelings,” he said quietly, knowing it wasn’t a good explanation but it would have to do with the time they had.

The relief that he felt when the lights were turned back on was short lived. He felt himself being lifted up and he hissed in frustration.

“Try hanging onto one of the displays, they look like they’re bolted down. They should be, if that guy is as smart as he pretends to be,” he said to Perdita, hoping she had a chance to at least anchor herself before attempting to help him down.

Cadet Ny
Roll:
3
Action: Plucking the smaller ones out of the air and stomping the bigger ones still on the ground. u-u

She should consider this developing situation to be worse than what it initially had been, and it was certainly true that watching people float up into the air added a disconcerting element to the scene, but Ny found that she was not... woefully inconvenienced. She kept a sharp eye out for Fysarius; it wouldn't do to let him stray too far, and she would happily find herself caught in the air if it was to do something to help him.

But for now, this seemed like a very good chance to use these extra moments of stun to snatch some of the smaller kosopods directly out of the air, shuffle them quickly into a crate and seal it up before they could escape.

The floaty creatures weren't keen on being caught; they twisted and wriggled, and if Ny wasn't careful, she might catch some acid on the sleeve of her uniform- but it happened that Ny was careful, and she was smart enough to see that she shouldn't go sticking her hand near an agitated animal's mouth. She snagged a few out of the air and sealed them away, but those that were still on the ground didn't take the same pause as those lifted up.

Those still needed to be dealt with by a boot.

Super Dark Mirror Narcissus of Rejection
Roll:
4
Action: He has Dia on a leash and is one bad choice away from swinging him around and knocking out all these critters. ...But he wouldn't do that...
movement from the Lieutenant, but...

No, it didn't work like that. Narcissus' feet stayed planted, and Dia was just a fighty, thrashing boy on a tether. He shouldn't- but he could just... very gently tug the other boy in the direction of the little monsters and let him smack and kick anything that came too close. But he shouldn't, he absolutely shouldn't... Should he?

General Jet
Action: Rolled 1. Floating around. Mocking Ida and Cybele. Attacking the Queen again.

Focus,’ Jet said to Aquamarine in response, although he snorted in brief amusement at the flattery.

As he could see it, their best chance at ending this nonsense was to strike the Queen down. It would be safer for all of them once it was dead.

He knew Aquamarine would be able to feel his intention, even if the words didn’t form in his head. He trusted the General to have his back, and to stay far enough away that he wouldn’t be caught in the swing of his glaive as he crushed several of the smaller Kosopods that got in his way.

You on one side, I on the other?’ he thought to Aquamarine as he darted across the Queen’s path, hoping to get her to rear up and show off any of her weak points. Probably not her back, if any of what Alamadel told them before was to be believed.

Then the lights were on, and he slipped--? No. He was no longer touching the ground. Still propelled forward as he attempted to get close enough to the Queen to strike--

The sound of arrows gave him just enough time to lift his hand and shield his face and eyes from the sudden blast. A Princess--

“Look what the cat dragged in. Such pretty birds,” Jet sneered and looked over at both Princesses Ida and Cybele that decided to show off their wings. They were lucky he had orders.

“At least you’re doing something useful,” he let out a small bark of a laugh and gave a nod to Ida. “Maybe others have given up. Too scared, Cybele? I didn’t take you for a coward.”

I’m fine, give me a moment,’ he reassured Aquamarine as he was slowly reorienting himself in the bubble of no gravity. He could attempt to teleport, but he didn’t know what that would do or if he would just put himself somewhere else he didn’t want to be.

Instead, he waited until his floating movement let him balance his feet against the edge of a heavy display case that seemed stuck to the ground and unmoving, and used it to launch himself towards the Queen, aiming the blade at her underside, hoping that it would be distracted enough to not notice his approach.

And that the White Moon would understand that they were there for a mission. And if they were going to succeed, maybe they should help out instead of just stand around.

General Aquamarine
Action: Managing to stay on the ground. Not able to pull Jet down. Dealing with a few of the smaller kosopods in the meantime.

Aquamarine could focus just fine, thank you very much. He was excellent at multitasking. Admiring Jet while also squashing some oversized bugs was far from a difficult task. He could do it with his eyes closed (but wouldn’t, since he couldn’t admire as well that way; or he could, actually, but fantasizing certainly wasn't going to help them deal with this faster).

That there were two Princesses hardly fazed him. Cybele was little more than a nuisance, and the other one… Ida? Her entry in the database had never concerned him much. Let them exhaust themselves with their magic. Once this was all done, maybe he and Jet would be able to bring a few more wings home for souvenirs.

The gravity failing posed a bigger problem.

For Jet, anyway.

Aquamarine managed to stay on the ground somehow. He swore and reached for Jet to yank him back, but missed and had to follow below, knocking over a few of the smaller kosopods so he could stab them in the underbelly.

Show off, he thought at Jet without being terribly annoyed.

General Witherite
Roll:

Action: Stay on the ground, killing more bugs

Witherite had flipped his triton, holding it head down and was using it to spear the bugs with it when the lights went out completely. "Im never volunteering for a space mission he grumbled stumbling backward and groaning when the lights flashed bright. He blinked trying to rub the spot from his eyes when he realized he felt a little off balanced.

He looked down to see his feet weren't actually on the ground?!? He rubbed his eyes because surely ... bug floated by his head. He jerked back and his feet landed on the ground almost as if he jumped. He tightened his grip on his weapon and speared the floating bug.

"Well that makes it easier," he chuckled more to himself than his companions he managed to get further away from. It was fine ... he spun and kept grabbing and spearing the bugs that floated by him.

Super Sailor Perdita
Action: Floating, then falling.

Perdita didn’t have the time to be too concerned about Oberon. She was, of course; she would never not be, it was just sort of difficult to do anything about it when she couldn’t get her feet back on the ground.

She tried to do what Oberon said and grab onto one of the displays. Either she wasn’t quick enough or she lost her grip. Soon she was out of reach of it, floating up and around with a notable lack of coordination.

“This is fine!” she said, mostly to herself, but Oberon, too.

Perdita tried to maneuver herself closer to him, having drifted just out of reach, only to encounter an area of gravity and plummet back to the floor with a very uncharacteristic shriek.

She knew how to fall, but didn’t quite manage it as well in the fluctuating gravity.

That was going to bruise.

Targovishte, Squire of Jupiter
Action: Smacking bugs, grabbing Connie, hoping Belmont doesn't start flying
Roll: 4

Belmont was taking all of this…kind of lightly, but in a way it was good, it allowed Targovishte to climb back up to her feet and struggle to do something productive. Of course, when the other Squire started just…floating away...and the bugs did the same, Targovishte shuddered and smacked at two of the bugs with her staff, mentally wishing that they were pinatas…but at the same time, horrified by whatever prizes might be inside if they actually opened up.

Reaching up, she grabbed one of the pretty Squire’s shoes, holding it tightly and pulling down with all of the strength she had. “I’ve got you! Just hang on. Me and Belmont won’t let you fall. Or get hurt. Or float away. And I smacked away two of the creepies away from you, I can do more!”

She looked at Belmont and gave a half smile. “Don’t you start flying away too…but then again I have two hands, I can do my best. But…after this, I might really wanna come up on that shoulder if the offer is still there.”

Fysarius' Weapon:
A black metallic bracer with spider themed etchings. A chartreuse energy crystal is inlaid in the center. The bracer shoots out a small volley (five) of energy threads each about a foot long that remain on the field for ten seconds. The threads have a magnetic effect that draws things to stick to it (at opposing player’s discretion, such as they could draw in small debris from nearby or entangle part of a limb or pull toward each other). If they make contact with a person, the threads will deliver a static shock (the equivalent of scooting around in your socks on carpet and then touching someone). The threads can be deployed once every thirty seconds.

Captain Nagyágite
Dice Roll: 4; fully grounded, able to help others easily
Action: Thanking Monoceros; reaching out to preemtively grab him to keep him grounded!

Whatever Nagyágite was expecting, backup honestly and truly wasn't it. Most of the time, in the Negaverse, he'd found himself entirely alone--all the promises of camaraderie merely pretty words to keep the peace. So perhaps it wasn't all that unexpected that the person who came to back him up was a traitor.

Monoceros. They'd met, once, briefly--he'd seemed sad, but Nagyágite wasn't one to involve himself in other people's problems as long as they didn't become his problems in some way, and Monoceros had masterfully handled not making his s**t anyone else's problem. Nagyágite could respect that, if nothing else.

And anyway, now wasn't the time for ingratitude. With the kosopods distracted, he was able to get to his feet, and another short spit of poison landed much more on the mark, letting him sweep-kick two away at once.

"Thanks," he said, shortly. "Don't worry about it. I'm fine." He took off and discarded the other boot--it'd just be bad for his balance, anyway.

And then, the room shifted.

Or rather, the gravity in it did.

Nagyágite was lucky. He managed to stay fully grounded, feet pl;anted firmly on the ground--and he reached out to grab Monoceros's arm, to make sure he stayed right there too.

"No floating away on me," he said. "I could use the backup for whatever this stupid place throws at us next."

And it really felt like it could be anything. Broken lights, queen bugs, now broken artificial gravity--=Nagyágite was, on the whole, not impressed with this fun little space trip.

Heliodor, Corrupt Super Senshi of Ryutou
ACTION: Focusing on keeping himself on the ground and smashing Kosopods.

As if things couldn’t get anymore chaotic, they did. And Heliodor was just barely keeping himself from floating up and off the ground. At first, the surprise of the event had him floating. a few inches, but with a little stubbornness (which he had ample supply of) and perseverance, Helio kept to the ground. Shaky though he was.

Kosopods were all around. Some floating, others sticking to the ground in some way or another. Arms swatted at any of the insects that floated too close to him, while he stomped down on any on the ground. It was a bit disgusting, to be honest. The one downfall of exposed feet.

He glanced to his side to check on Tama and Fafnir to find one helping the other who had the unfortunate circumstances of not keeping his paws on the ground.

Lanting, Squire of Ida
Dice Roll: 1, floating awayyy!
Currently: Floating away, grabbing for Corvina in hopes of not floating too far crying

"Don't be ridiculous," Lanting protested, as soon as Corvina started trying to push away his help. "You're not alone anymore, you don't have to just...let yourself get hurt!"

He started reaching for that well of magic inside him--

And that was when the gravity turned off.

Lanting yelped, reaching for Corvina in an attempt to ground himself, and felt a surge of deep humiliation welling in his chest. Of course Dunnottar had to be right there, to see him like this, flailing and freaking out--how stupid. How pathetic. How...how...

How like him, really.

"Corvina, hang onto me--when we land again, I'll heal us both, I promise." Or maybe Corvina would be able to get him to the ground--that would also be good.

Dark Mirror Super Sailor Asuka
Roll: 4; planted and able to help
Currently: Going to help Hela and Iranea!!

With the lights on, it was way, way easier to see what they were dealing with. Asuka had to admit, she appreciated Hottie Space Dragon Man for whatever he was doing to help them out, even if it wasn't entirely fixing the problem.

And then something shifted.

Asuka gasped--although she stayed firmly on the ground, both Irenaea and Hela went floating off.

"Guys," she said, and she started forward, holding out her hands, "grab onto me, I think I've still got gravity!"

Though her offer came a little too late--Irenaea had found something else to grab onto, and. Oof. That bust looked expensive. And sounded expensive, when it hit the floor.

"You okay?" She asked, because that mattered less than making sure her friend was alright. And anyway, how was Almadel going to chase them down to pay for it?
