It was uncommon for Laurelite to summon any number of people directly to her Throne Room. When she did, it was usually for a full scale, major announcement.

Tonight, there were only thirteen summoned to her.

Hessonite, Lepidolite and Axinite were already there and stood patiently at the front of the room, behind Laurelite.

To her, she had summoned Aquamarine, Arsenopyrite, Ashanite, Benitoite, Bloodstone, Faustite, Jet, Kamacite, Lopezite, Prehnite, Rakovanite, Sylvite, and Wolframite.

There was something ominous about the large, otherwise empty hall. Laurelite and the three General Sovereigns behind her stood quietly, but they were generally unreadable.

Lepidolite was without his broad smile and warmth. Hessonite’s brows were knit thoughtfully. Axinite wore a far off look and his gaze had settled to a distant corner of the room.

But, Laurelite was not so grim. She wore the same small, peaceful smile that seemed permanently fixed to her face. “Good evening,” she said. There were so few people in the chamber that her voice echoed off the walls.

“I’m sorry for drawing you here so suddenly. I hope I haven’t disrupted your evening,” she said politely. But, this was important enough that she didn’t seem to mind if she had. “I would have waited for a more appropriate time if I thought we had it.”

There were no cookies at this meeting. No chairs to sit in. No lights to warm the room.

This had clearly been an impromptu meeting, and though Laurelite appeared put together, even she seemed to be brimming with energy.

“I’m afraid we’ve had a bit of a situation. I need officers I can trust. I’ve spent some time consulting with the General Sovereigns about how best to handle this whole affair, and I will preface this meeting with one thing: I have chosen you because I think I can trust you.” She looked across the group. “I do not want to give you a chance to fail me. If you do not trust yourself to keep private the information I intend to share with you, then I dismiss you now. I will not obligate you to keep secrets for me if you know you cannot hold them.”

She gave them a moment to leave. She watched, and waited, and when they all stood before her after a moment, she relaxed again and laced her fingers neatly before her.

“Good. I knew I could rely on you.”

Another pause, not quite to brace herself, but to let them brace themselves.

“It would seem we have some unexpected guests on Earth. I can’t say that I have more information to share, but what I do know is that a vessel has arrived somewhere in Destiny City, carrying extraterrestrial passengers. We tracked a gathering of the White Moon for a short while before they disappeared. We have reason to believe that these are related.”

She watched their expression as she delivered this information, and continued, “You are not to share this information with anyone. I have chosen to trust you, and you alone. You were chosen for your specific talents, for your dedication to the Negaverse, for your prowess. If I knew others could be trusted, they would be here, too. As such, this information does not leave this room. However, knowing that, I’m sure you will understand that I need extra eyes in Destiny City. I want you to observe things. Anything unusual, report to myself, or any of the General Sovereigns. Immediately. We don’t know what to expect from this. But we do know we need to be prepared. Effective immediately, we need to increase our quotas. I’m trusting you to handle this excess while you’re out in the City. I know many of you have subordinates. The command extends to them, if you think they can manage it. However,” she was stern, but the smile remained, “We need to better assess this situation before we allow this information to spread among our forces. I cannot risk a panic. We still have much to learn. But, I want to be prepared. Do you have any questions?”

General Faustite

Faustite maintained a habit of working through his lunch. His grate had sat open, the circular disc removed from his core, and he had been feeding a respectable collection of Axinite's cookies into the fire while he drafted a proposal. The screws from his grate — no less than a dozen — lined his lips where they were held hostage, lest he drop or lose track of them. He thought little of it; his subordinates were either asleep or out draining, and no one had reason to poke their heads into his office nearing midnight.

And all of that was true, because he was being summoned out of his office. When the realization struck him, Faustite dropped his metal pen and reached for the screwdriver, had only enough time to grab it before he was torn from one space and thrust into the next.

Dizzying, that experience when he wasn't in control of it. Disorienting when he didn't know what to expect. But now he stood by his peers, stood before the General Sovereigns, and most importantly, before the Queen with a dozen screws in his face, his grate half-open, and a screwdriver in hand. While she spoke, Faustite busied himself with reassembling his own modified body. Held the circular piece in the center, inserted the first screw, worked it in, repeat. It gave his hands, and his nerves, reason to stay occupied while Laurelite gave a short speech.

Seemed Laurelite had a number of shocks in store, to which he blanched. The first: she thought she could trust them. He searched the room. She thought she could trust Benitoite, who murdered strangers on which he had no intel. Or Rakovanite, who pulled a starseed in the Rift when he was explicitly warned against it. Wolframite had his defection weighted against him, but he seemed staunch in his support when Faustite first reintroduced him to the Negaverse, Arsenopyrite he thought only trustworthy because the man was too asleep to speak secrets; Ashanite, Prehnite, and Bloodstone he had only heard about or experienced by a small margin, and the rest were those he'd worked with before. He looked back at Laurelite. Searched her demure smile for any indication that she was just kidding.

Faustite exhaled a smoky sigh. A screw dropped from his mouth; he leaned over and picked it up. At least she had more to tell than that — at least she wasn't here to offer accolades. He hoped her bad judge of character wouldn't spell the death of the Negaverse.

He first paused and looked up at extraterrestrial passengers. He blinked, then looked at the lot of them, then back down at the grate. Then the rest of her instructions came forth, and he relaxed a little; he supposed there was little to worry about when the only results were increased quota and suppression of, frankly, very little information. By the time she finished, he finished reassembling himself.

"These aliens — what're we looking for? Is it better we watch the White Moon and infer?" Latter wasn't his preference, but was doable; there was a collection of Information Generals here, after all.

"Can we have Infiltration drum up a reason for increased starseed loss and draining? Spec Ops to bolster training? Assuming Information will be the eyes on the White Moon and ears for the… Aliens." Faustite spoke the word with a visible snarl.

Midnight, or close to it, might mean sleep for most people but not necessarily General Benitoite. With certain changes in his life he didn’t need to hide the time he spent out late at night, he didn’t need to curtail himself, he could go out whenever he pleased and for as long as he liked. Tonight was one such night, or at least it had been, he was not expecting the summon. When he did arrive it was in a room filled with but a few people, making the throne room seem even bigger than he knew it to be.

A bow was given to each of their leaders, a softly spoken greeting passed pale lips, before he straightened himself and kept his gaze focused on their Queen as she spoke. He didn’t like the words which past her lips...aliens arriving and working with the white moon, that was no good for them. They couldn’t tell anyone else, he understood that easily enough, but how to find out about these aliens. That was going to be an interesting task to take up, difficult to say the least if you asked him, but he was sure information could be gathered.

With his hands clasped behind his back he turned his pale eyes onto the General who’d already spoken, nodding his head as he did so. “I agree about training, it would be beneficial if we start training sessions down here. We can give a reason for it, perhaps plans in the future that are being prepared, incase anyone asks.” Turning his focus back onto their Queen as he continued to speak.

“I think we should tell everyone, via communicator, that quotas are being increased due to some future plans for that energy. We needn’t explain ourselves at the moment and it is not entirely a lie.” It would be something easily forgivable or ignored once all was said and done, depending on how things with these aliens went. He would, once this meeting was over with, go back to draining energy rather than return home as he’d been planning to do.

He didn’t like the lack of information which they had but he wasn’t surprised, they’d only just arrived from the sound of it, and they were obviously keeping themselves hidden. They’d have to find senshi or knights whom they could speak with and try and gain information from them somehow. The idea of being so blind in a situation like this was displeasing to say the least. This would, no doubt, cause a mass panic amongst their ranks if they were to find out about this.

“Perhaps we here should go out hunting energy and starseeds, and any who might hold information for us.”

Eternal Sailor Kamacite

Kamacite was immediately aware that he was the odd one out in a room full of agents. His long black hair pooled at his feet like rivers of shadow, and his bright sunset robes stood out among those with epaulets and cords and capes and carefully buttoned jackets and polished boots.

He tried not to shift awkwardly from one foot to the next, or wring his wrists anxiously, or clutch at his chest like he was trying to keep his heart from falling out, and instead looked ahead to the Queen on her throne. He didn't quite manage to keep himself from placing a hand at his chest, pressing fingers around the hole there, as if the pressure could stop his heart from beating so wildly. A couple times he glanced behind the Queen where Axinite stood, staring off into the corner of the room. He felt nervous--

Especially when they were told extraterrestrials were now in Destiny City.

He was fully aware of how some officers still treated Negaverse Senshi like himself, and he felt his face flush as he tried not to see who might have glanced in his direction. But unlike the Senshi of the White Moon, he had given himself to the Negaverse and to Metallia. He never once sought out his "Senshi" name, because it didn't matter to him.

Out of the corner of his eye he could see Faustite, along with Jet and Aquamarine. Lopezite was there, too. Arsenopyrite and Benitoite had both been on his team in the Rift. Wolframite he’d met before, when he was first being trained after being corrupted again into the Negaverse. When he was being introduced as Vitriol. Bloodstone, he purposefully avoided eye contact. Prehnite, Rakovanite, Ashanite, and Sylvite he couldn’t recall ever meeting, but had heard of or seen them in passing.

And they were the ones the Queen trusted with this information.

.:Captain Prehnite:.

He often stayed up late, part and parcel with his work for the school - papers to grade, lessons to plan. It had also become a recurring theme to spend long nights working with his newly obtained subordinate; working to smooth over the resulting fiasco that had led up to her being in his home as she was. Sleeping peacefully, thankfully. When he was snatched from where he was sat, pouring over his laptop in his office.

While being so suddenly thrust into power was a jarring thing it wasn’t also the most shocking thing he’d ever experienced. He stilled himself enough to blink tiredly about the room, to adjust to the thrumming wish of power and note those present. Prehnite tracked the words - the concept - the curiously small number of rank and file assembled. Emerald glint that roved the rest. Hardly any number at all. Which was better probably, considering the gravity of the secret’s that the Queen insisted needed to be kept.

Prehnite wished for the will to bolster some sort of shock for Laurelites revelation. The news that ‘aliens’ had landed. Except wasn’t that old hat, wasn’t that what the forces who deigned to pin themselves under the moniker of Order were at their core? An invasive species of foregin vine that had latched itself onto Earth, to leech resources that were not their own..

He wondered if the shock of it was to be that they’d somehow garnered themselves allies from beyond the planet itself, actually managed to leech some sort of aid from beyond their supposed ‘stars’.

Attention that fell first to the words born from the mouth of flames. It seemed that once upon a time they simply could’ve told those beneath them what to do, and it would’ve been done. No need for spinning webs and lacing the lies with truth to garner a proper outcome.. “Just for clarity's sake Faustite? Are you asking what sort of line Infiltration will feed to our own people, or are you asking what sort of line we’ll be feeding to ‘The People’.” A pause for such, to give the man his attention in full, stare down the embered gaze and flame filled grate that made up the other with passive interest at best.

Before opening his mouth in response to Benitotites idea, not to discount the merit in its simplicity, simply to offer up a line of dialogue to run off it.

“Because we can do that, Benitotite, issue a simple command over coms. Except speaking of yet one more new thing might garner ‘excitement’, curiosity even?” and even as Prehnite imagined the fervor with which their ranks would roil up to heed such things - he could also imagine the fielding of questions the Sovereigns might have to undertake, gossipfire of rumors that would spread wild - overzealousness with which that quota could be hunted, that could ruin the subtlety of an Op. “There are several convenient ‘incidents’ that have occured within the last few months alone, that could cause the uptick in demand for such things? That would easily slot in with the need to call for increased training exercises as well. Though I won’t tell Spec Ops how to go about their business.” and Prehnite could’ve ticked said incidents off one by one - a flood of new incoming graduates from the school. The energies needed for that. To stem the tide of loss and bolster the flood of replacements for those who’d played fodder - between towering mercantile monsters, rift rendezvous, and park panics…

No end to the lines of exhaustion that sought to steal his youth from his face early. That left Prehnite to sigh over it.

“As for the former..I’d love to hear others' ideas on such a thing, regarding the management of ‘the surface view’ on this development? I imagine it’s imperative that we all reach a consensus on the PR angle for such.” Prehnite doubted it would go unnoticed that an entire city was suffering an increase in fatigue and exhaustion - possibly an censure rise in ‘body counts’ that tracked just above the typical death toll as well.

General Sylvite

Almost midnight wasn’t late by college student standards. Alexa had lofi beats pulled up on her cheap laptop, and a sewing project on her desk that she was kind of working on, at least in between sending out memes to a groupchat of friends.

One second, she was in comfy clothes, giggling. The next, she was in uniform before the Queen.

She shut her mouth right away, standing at attention, but the last of the laugh still echoed around the very empty throne room for a much longer moment than it should have, and beyond that, it was hard for her to stay completely still, even here. She shifted her weight from foot to foot even as Laurelite spoke, and she eyed the others who made up the small group around it.
It didn’t take genius to figure out that this was some kind of elite meeting, with all of the Generals around. Faustite and Rakovanite were the only ones she would say that she knew, but she recognized the others from the Rift mission, or the hospital party, or the fountain fiasco. She would have known what kind of people they were even if she’d never seen their faces.
They stood straight. They didn’t wiggle like she did. They had hard, serious eyes and stiff upper lips. They were all guys, except for Hessonite and Laurelite up on the dias.

Sylvite knew she wasn’t quite a normal General, but it wasn’t until she was faced with all the other ones at once that she felt quite so small and quite so pink.
The seriousness in the room was almost worse than hearing the words ‘extraterrestrial threat’. Not that extraterrestrials were great, in her experience, but the threat was probably pretty big, judging by the grim looks on the sovereigns' faces.

At least the questions people were asking were good. At least she could ask things, too, like, go over the resources that they had. That was kind of her specialty. “Do we have any allies in Order right now?” she asked. “Like, people planning to join us who are still making arrangements, or just anyone who’s a little bit more sympathetic that we might be able to bribe for information on these threats?”

Draining extra energy was fine, putting out announcements so that the others could help was probably helpful for that, but knowing the actual scope of this threat was better.

General Faustite

To Prehnite, he answered, "Destiny City's populace. Widespread tiredness, an increase in people falling dead — they'll notice. Better we have some lines for the press, cover ourselves before our needs oust our knowledge." Flame eyes cast to Benitoite, whose shared a similar affinity of the mouth with Albite, and saw fit to make expectation over showing the deference to ask.

And Prehnite — that one had a mouth, too.

General Aquamarine

Aquamarine appeared flustered, out of sorts, jerked suddenly from the office he shared with Jet into a room he did not often have the occasion to venture into. He straightened his clothing, slipped a button on his jacket back into place, wondered if adjusting his disheveled hair would be too conspicuous a move. In the end, he couldn’t stand to have it a mess, rumpled strands hanging into his face, so he carded his fingers through it as surreptitiously as possible and quickly brought it back into some semblance of order.

He bowed his head respectfully, then stood at attention, tried not to let his eyes wander.

But he could not resist the urge to see who else had been summoned.

Jet, of course. He wasn’t surprised to see Faustite either, or Kamacite, who seemed to lurk everywhere without causing much of a fuss. Benitoite earned a brief narrowing of the eyes, but once the reason for their being there became clear, Aquamarine figured it made sense, given Benitoite’s length of service; he wondered if the Queen’s trust would halt Jet’s suspicions. The rest were familiar figures only in the sense that he’d seen their faces before.

As Aquamarine had no trouble with keeping anything private, given that the only person he spoke with at any great length about anything important was Jet, he had no issue with secrecy.

Naturally, there were questions. There would likely be disagreement on how they should proceed. Aquamarine could already envision this meeting devolving into some sort of d**k measuring contest, the Queen’s presence be damned.

“How did we come by this information?” he asked, before he risked being drowned out by bickering.

Not that he couldn’t speak loud enough to compensate.

Captain Bloodstone

“I’ll keep watch at the Medical Center, Your Majesty,” Bloodstone said to the Queen with a polite nod from his position near the others. He knew almost none of the other chosen in that room, but it didn’t matter. He wasn’t in the Negaverse to make friends. He had a job to do and he would do it well. His time at the hospital -- and now the Destiny City Medical Center -- should have been proof enough.

He’d been at home for his day off, and he would likely have to explain to Jonah -- to Lieutenant Roselite -- why he suddenly disappeared. But Jonah was a dutiful Lieutenant and would help with the extra quota if asked. While he knew he couldn’t tell him anything about the information they received, Roselite was good at keeping an ear out for things. If anything strange was going on, it would surely be something Roselite noticed

Other than that, he had nothing else to say and no questions to ask. If the Queen wanted to tell them something, then she would tell them. She didn’t ask them for their opinion on what they should do. She gave them orders to follow, and it was expected that they followed it. There were clearly others that didn’t think the same.

General Benitoite

For a moment Benitoite considered rolling his eyes but thought better of it, now was not the time for such childish nonsense. “We have people who work for us, people in the media, they’ll do their duty and spin whatever story we need spun in order to play off people passing out and suddenly dying. We can control the media without too much issue.” Thinking of at least one officer who worked in the news industry, though he’d not seen the man in a period of time. It wasn’t something out of their abilities. They could manipulate things as was needed.

Turning his head, though not the rest of his body, the petite general eyed the one who asked about possible allies in the white moon’s camp. “I can’t say I have any more contacts I could possibly speak with. If this had been years back I could have sought out some people in high places and tried to weedle out information. I no longer have such connections. If any are known of that would be beneficial to seek them out and speak with them.” Sadly he no longer had connections to anyone and the one he’s not burnt bridges with, Polaris herself, was nowhere to be found. He’d tried once and she had never responded...she was gone, and better for them in the long run anyway.

“I’ll do as you ask, my Queen.” Turning his focus back onto her. He’d work to do whatever he could to help them, starting tonight with staying out longer.

General Jet

Unlike Aquamarine, Jet wasn’t quite as disheveled. Except for the fact that he’d had his jacket unbuttoned, which he quickly ran his fingers up the fabric to each one and slid them into place. While Aquamarine was taking his nap, Jet had been finishing up some paperwork on the recent traitor they’d found and disposed of. He told Aquamarine that he could have gone home, but there was little point when they had a bed in the corner of their office, anyway.

He frowned at the news of aliens on their planet. And of course Jet had questions. How many aliens were they dealing with? Did they know where the vessel landed? If they had a general location then maybe they could search the area. Planning for an offensive against the White Moon and their new alien friends would take a good amount of work, but the Queen wanted them to gather starseeds and energy. Which meant he could only assume she would give them more information once she had it.

Jet glanced from one face to the next, recognizing most of them, in one way or another. He had his opinions on a few of them that he kept to himself for the time being. If the Queen wanted them to work together, then so be it. This was more important than all of them, anyway.

“The echo is pretty bad in here…” Jet grumbled mostly under his breath when Benitoite repeated the same thing the Queen just ordered them to do. Those around him likely heard, but since he didn’t specify what he was talking about, only those who would probably agree with him would realize what he was referring to.

“Bad idea to tell everyone,” Jet frowned and lifted his arms to cross. “Otherwise it would have already been done. Too many agents have turned traitor recently. If they get wind that there’s something brewing, it might spook them into running to their White Moon friends, and then our advantage will be blown.”

He had spoken out against General Benitoite before, and he doubted tonight would be the last.

General Arsenopyrite

It was only recently that Arseno had managed to start to get some sleep. After the battle with that shapeshifting Youma, he had gone back to Stacey and had asked her to help him keep up a good sleeping schedule so that he wouldn’t be just a walking zombie. Luckily she was happy to comply and he was already starting to feel better. So going out that night had been something he hadn’t done in a while, but to suddenly be summoned with others was something completely unexpected. It must have been important if mostly Generals were summoned, though he acknowledged that there were others. He supposed they must have had the same, if not more experience than he.

He was thankful for the mask. Even if he was getting better sleep, he still hadn’t caught up on it so he could easily hide if he yawned. He listened to the Queen and couldn’t help but lift an eyebrow at the information. Aliens? His brother would have been interested, though he was sure in a more terrified way. And Arseno certainly wasn’t going to tell him anything. He looked at Bloodstone when he spoke about the Medical Center. Arseno would have to contact him later about that.

While the others talked about how they would hide it Arseno was most interested in question asked by the blond General who had yelled quite loudly at him before the shapeshifter mission had started. Did they have a spy to tell them this information? He almost wanted to get Ödön out to look for anything, but he dared not risk the Youma getting hurt.

He decided to stay quiet. It appeared that tensions were already high with some and he certainly didn’t want to fan the flames, figuratively, of whatever was going on. While he didn’t have anyone working under him, he would be more than happy to go out and drain more, perhaps even taking some starseeds. Back to how it used to be for him before he had gotten into the hell that they called medical school.

He looked over at Beni catching the other’s eye for a moment and moved his head in a direction that said, “I want to talk to you later”. He had no information or questions to offer, and decided to let everyone else speak for now.
