Prompt 9 - Disappearances in the Village: As people confront the creature, or as their shelters are compromised, people will begin to disappear. In the night, you may hear the creature attacking someone or something, but the overwhelming fear and trepidation it radiates is capable of paralyzing even the bravest of warriors, making it difficult to help or investigate until morning. Searching for clues yields nothing, except sometimes damaged shelters and anything the missing may have dropped. No matter where you search, you cannot seem to locate where they have gone or what has happened to them.

It was hopeless.

Rakovanite crouched, sliding his gloved fingers through tracks of sand where large claws had dug trenches into the dirt in front of some poor sap's shelter. The monster was picking them off, and for all he or anyone else could tell, there was nothing to be done besides just avoid the creature at all costs. When it wanted, it took, and no senshi, agent, or knight had been able to prevent it.

He sighed as he righted himself and stared through the battered door and shattered glass at the dark, empty, cavernous shelter beyond. It was expected that once it took someone, they were gone. What use would a creature have for keeping prey alive? As the number of people in the village dwindled, so too did the thought that they would escape. With less and less of them, there were diminishing chances that they could face the monster and force an escape-

An escape to where? This whole world felt like it was not theirs, and Rakovanite hadn't been able to teleport anywhere besides just within the village. Even if they defeated the creature, how would they return home?

He would not live like this.

He'd said it, and he'd meant it. Rakovanite would not make any attempts to forge a life here. He would go home or he would die. Frankly, those were the only options, anyway. It was only a matter of time before the monster picked through them all. It was hopeless.

Despite how heavily the thought settled over his mind, Rakovanite still wanted freedom. He wanted the accommodations and comforts he was used to in Destiny City. He wanted to go home, and the only chance of finding clues was to look for them- Probably in places the creature had been.

Such as here, where it had made its most recent abduction.

He stepped through the doorway, dark eyes scanning slowly over the shelter's ravaged living quarters. It had broken in, which meant the bolted doors and wooden barricades were not always enough to keep it out... One less thing in their favor, really.
