Double duty - Polaris
solo rp - word count doesn't matter anymore XD
Monday night.
It had been a handful of days since Azzo had left Destiny City to go and do his summer tasks and Polaris was keeping the promise she'd made. With Niflhel gone that meant one less good guy on the streets, and she'd taken it upon herself to make up for it.
She often took a day off here or there.. or would only patrol for a few hours at a time. But during the time since he'd left Polaris had found herself out every night without question.. from just past dusk until just an hour or so before the sun rose. Tonight was to be no different.
The extra effort had proved to be particularly productive too. The streets were strangely quiet of negaverse agents, with so many of them off at camp. But the youma were roaming at full force and Polaris was taking out a record two or three a night with all the time she was logging. Her activities had begun to expand too. A mugging thwarted one night.. a street fight broken up by a bit of intimidation.
Working alone she came prepared just as Niflhel always said, carrying around a thick metal pipe that was proving to be wonderfully effective.
Tonight however.. seemed to be going fairly slow.
It was already 3am and other than one tiny youma around 10pm she'd been entirely alone. Her eyes watched the streets softly from above as she paused to sit and rest on a roof for awhile.
Azzo had told her to get a good night's sleep before coming to visit him.. so she debated whether or not she should patrol at all tommorow night. Yes... no?
The jingle of bells caught her attention, looking towards the convience store across the street. A figure in black rushed through the door, pivoting before taking off down the street. His fashion was borderline sterotypical.
White boots hit the pavement and the girl took off after the guy. He was easy enough to catch up with.. senshi were always faster then civilians.
She gave him a mild warning once he'd found himself exhausted and trapped in an alleyway. "Just give the money back and turn yourself in please." He'd given her a knife.. right into the side.
The skirmish was messy.. Polaris far too fast for the man to really do much damage other then his first blow.. but it also took her a decent amount of hits to actually subdue him to a point that she was able to drag him. She'd never hit a civilian with her magic.. Even if it were a stupid thief who had stabbed her. She grimaced at him unhappily as she dragged, stopping only when she stood once more in front of that familar convience store.
The bell ringed as Polaris stepped inside, only stepping far enough in to gain the attention of the man behind the counter, who looked more than 'slightly' mortified by his visitor. The bag with money was dropped onto the ground, her hand coming to settle instead on her wound as she tried to catch her breath. "If you haven't called the police yet please do so. I don't know how quickly he'll gain his sense and try to get away." She motioned towards the door where outside the thief was sat up against the store front.
She flinched as a sting of pain hit her side, offering one last thing before she turned to leave and return home. "Have a nice night"
Ughh.. maybe she would just sleep tommorow night.
