He'd taken the senshi of magnetism up on the offer. Hang out, chill out, dust some youma, talk smack, smack her a** just to piss her off. Typical Castor bonding time. Right now though? Castor was posing with his latest youma on film. It was a small armadillo like thing, an trail of bile and constantly puffing out smog. Where was the youma? Stuck under a shopping cart. Castor was just sitting on it, since the thing lacked any real way to hurt him. A youma was a youma...even if this youma was rather puny.
Castor was busy taking photos right now of him in the Captain Morgan post. He was totally youma hunter king. And this photo was totally going as his senshi phone background.

She had actually been a little excited at the prospect of meeting up with Castor for a patrol. It had been so long since the last time it'd happened, so much having taken place in the year's time since she'd really seen him more then just in passing.
After the meeting she'd had so many questions to ask! And considering what he was now.. a prince among regular senshi.. and married at that! Maybe the senshi of hail and his human counterpart had grown up a little? That was the happy little thought that had been dwelling in her brain as her boots smacked the ground, hurrying towards the meeting area they'd agreed on.
It was an idea quickly dashed when she found the menshi and slowly put together the pieces of what he was doing.
The contest was SUPPOSED to be making people act more responsibly. It was supposed to be cleaning up the streets of dangerous youma. And despite the fact that.. she hardly ever felt anything for the monsters, she couldn't help but feel sorry for the tiny one being tormented. Sure she'd still dust it but.. in a little more respectful fashion.
"Castor!" Her voice piped up in the warm night arm. The two syllables streched out in a tone and form that was all too classically Polaris. She sounded like a teacher or an irritated mother, her gloved hand lifting to wag a finger at him. Oh yes.. she was about the nag the crap out of him.
"Instead of harrassing that thing and trying to get the best picture why don't you just finish it off and find another one. Just because you've found one youma for the night doesn't mean your job is over."

Of course Polaris would want him to serious the ******** up. Because it was srs the ******** up time. Youma killing time and making s**t happen time. Kicking over the cart Castor picked it up by the back of it's neck. It was pathetic. pitiful. And gross. The acid dripped down and it made a little slurping noise as it was dangled in the air. "Oh come on." He wiggled it about and the thing game a small cry of hopelessness. It was a good little youma, it just wanted some starseeds was all.
"Don't you want a pet?" He took a few steps towards her with it, and the youma wiggled in excitement. Closer to a senshi? At eye level even? Oh happy day! Happy- The wiggling, the little happy noise were cut short as Castor raise the youma up and slammed into the pavement, dust going in every direction. "Okay, it's dead, I win the game forever." He rolled his shoulder back, smirking. "Now, what's up Polaris? Besides the whole kill more youma with duck face photos." He lifted the camera. "Which by the way, I might just stick on a facebook wall for myself. Who knows, we might even get fans." Serious? Castor?
Nope.

((Whoops, sorry about the delay!!))
Her nagging frowny face melted into something a bit more squeamish as Castor drew near. How was it possible to feel bad for the little youma and also want it nowhere freaking near her! Even if that acid had been just harmless slobber.. she took a visable step backward, hand raising to her chest softly. Luckily for her he didn't follow through, smashing the little youma to dusty bits.
She was too busy recovering from her bit of 'ick' to roll her eyes as he puffed his ego and what not. He did receive a cool and serious response however to his playful suggestion. "Europa and I learned pretty early on that that's probably not a good idea. What if they traced it or something? Are you going to put you and your wife in danger over something so juvinile?" Sometimes it was hard to tell when he was being serious and when he was blowing smoke. She hoped it was the later, that he was just trying to rile her.
He probably didn't really mean 'what was up', but that didn't stop her from starting to prattle away. She had always been awfully loose tongued, eager to share. "Well I graduated. I'll be going to DCU in the fall. Teachers aiding in the elementary school for college credits. Did you hear about the terrorist attack on the elementary school by the way? It was some large scale negaverse energy drain gone bad or something."
"Besides that mostly just keeping the streets safe. There was another big fiasco at the Larkspur summer camp." She hadn't noticed him there, so it seemed worth mentioning. "To think they're starting to target younger and younger victims.. so much for all that self righteous bull about 'taking out justice on those who deserve it' that they like to claim.." She sighed a little, her frown returning.
"I'm working on trying to put together a new team now too. Things have been pretty quiet since the Bastards fell apart." It was a matter of fact statement, if he asked about it she might divulge some details. But yeah.. Castor wasn't exactly the sort she was going out of her way to offer an invitation to.

He laughed, clearing the notation he was serious. He could be serious or sarcastic, but a safebet was once more, sarcasm. "Nah, if anything we'd probably get just a bunch of media attention and police after us before the negaverse." The fact he did think about it that hard however...Well Castor was ever the one to test the limits of the negaverse. From flirting with it's agents to calling their leaders out while having his a** handed to him.
The way he was smiling however...he was trying to rattle her cage, if just a bit. The same way he'd tease Europa about her buttbow. He just did it. The news she gave him had the smile slowing turning in reverse, before it had come round to form a scowl. Voice dropping to a dangerous low, his eyes narrowed as he no longer was in a joking mood. "I heard about it in passing, but not the energy drain happening on the kids, I don't recall any casualties in the media but-" The question hung in the air. Had anyone fallen victim and had their starseed stolen? "The camp is news to me." He sighed "I'm not involved with school, and with my brother dropped out, so my gateway into the negaverse hub has been cut off more or less. Now married and a grown man, going to the high schools is out. Frankly, the network is thin." Rubbing his temples, Castor never thought he'd feel old, but when thing like this happened, he did. He hadn't been involved. He hadn't been keeping his ear to the ground. "It's good to try and connect, to form groups and partnerships. It's what we need. As for the negaverse..." His voice trailed off only to rise once more.
"The negaverse sees us as invaders, and in a twisted way, we are." Eyes looked skyward, the few stars he could see in the sky making him smile, even if they probably were just satellites. "But at the same time we are not. Our souls once belonged to a different race, a different time, but we- in this time- were born here and to my knowledge we don't have a world to return to." Bitterness crept into his voice, a painful memory leaking into his thoughts.
"They claim we have no right to this world. To live here. But they don't know what it's like." His fist clenched. "I've seen the past Polaris, and it was a wonderful thing. But I've also seen how that past ended, I've heard the screams of my people as they fell, as my world was destroyed." Taking in a deep breath Castor's smile returned, and his eyes were set in firm determination. "Just why we fight the darkness here and now. This is our home. We were born here like everyone else, we have family, friends. Don't let the negaverse feed you that bullshit they tried to give to me. They want to steal something we stop 'em. They want a fight and we just have to crush em like the hardcore badass ******** I know we are." Castor depressed? ******** that noise. He was just..animated. Very, very animated.
"But what did happen to the Bastards? Did Regulus ever get that stick out from his a** or what?" A smirk. "Or did you just want more sexy time with your new boyfriend?" Castor would go there. He always would.

It was a true enough statement. They had very few friends amid the police.. even with her.. extracuricular activities attempting to garner some good will. It took more than one person though to turn the tides after all. His grinning received a slightly skeptical look.
It melted however as she saw something strange touch his face.. a seriousness she'd always hoped for but never believed she'd ever see on Castor. "A few died yes... a couple students.. a handful of teachers and staff." Her words were whispered.. soft regret. There had just been so much going on.. too much to keep it all under control.
"I tried my best though.. me and the chibis. If we hadn't been there it would have been far worse. Sassolite is.. " Her injury from camp was almost completely healed by now.. but the very thought of the woman.. it seemed to send an ache through her side. "She's so ruthless and dangerous"
His plight about not being connected was a valid one and certainly frusterating. The older they got... how would they stay connected other then by working together. It seemed the best idea.. to know as many senshi as possible and to make one's self known as someone that could be called on when needed. She offered lightly, pleasantly surprised the topic had even come up. "If.. you'd like.. I can always call you if anything big happens. Or just to keep you in the loop? We have those sos signals for a reason. If you're willing to help I'm sure most of us would be happy to have you. And you can always call on me of course."
She listened softly to the offered wisdom and insight, soaking it in to think over later. They were aliens but it was their home too. They had something to fight for and something worth saving. They did not go out of their way to attack. Senshi were a reactive force to the destruction of the negaverse. A soft look of concern and compassion touched her as he spoke of the past. Obviously he'd seen things far more important than she had in her travels to space.
Of course it only took the word 'badass ********' to remind her exactly who she was speaking to. She appreciated the sentiment but ugh.. someone needed soap in his mouth. Or some classes in public speaking and proper etiquitte.
"Well.. it was more people drifting apart.. You left first. And then Maia left to join the Blood Moon Court. And Europa and Regulus.. broke up. And there just quit being meetings and everyone drifted apart... There was never anything official but.. when we haven't met up or seen each other in so long one can only assume it's over..."
And suddenly he'd found it. The perfect spot to poke. The flush that appeared at his insinuation was so strong that even with her carmael colored skin a soft pink could be seen, her brows furrowing her mouth opening in silent defense. A hand was lifted, glove pulled off quickly to show a ringless hand, because obviously he'd know that unmarried couples never did anything unchaste! "Th.. that doesn't have anything to do with it!"
"A... Niflhel. Niflhel and I patrol and do our jobs. He's been doing it since even before he became a knight."
She was squirming.. the idea that he thought she was some floozy? And the fact that they were almost frusteratingly not so. Not even a kiss to the lips yet! Her mind went back to their trip to her star.. ughh.. "I assure you there is no 'sexy time'"

The blush across her face and Castor's grin widened and got a bit deeper. "Riiiight. That Niflhel huh? He's probably wanking nightly just to keep his hand off of ya. And don't deny it. He got in my face didn't he? Dude's got it hard-on for you. If not for the fun stuff, when I made a jab he was ready for a pissing match. Boy's got feelings for you Polaris." Leaning on a pole, Castor's arm crossed and he looked smug. "Give him a little once in a while. I don't mean like that, just...make sure he knows your feelings. Life's too short to hide things like love." The grin softened. "That is one thing I can attest too. "
Relaxing, Castor pulled out the camera, taking a quick photo of her flustered face. "The casualties...are disconcerting. It's not the first time, nor, do I think it will be the last. Sassolite huh? From what I'm guessing, captain or general. Lieutenants don't carry the power like their superiors do. Much less enough to take out a hand full of humans and handle more then one senshi." Rubbing his chin he sighed.
"Keep me in contact. In being prince I am a force they know they need to bring the big guns for. Plus, my history makes me a great target. After all, taking out Castor, the thorn in the side of the negaverse, is much more of a prize then any old senshi. I can divert attention well enough." The grin was a bit cocky. "My phone is always on and I do love a good date by the moonlight. And a fist fight. You seem to be close to the chibis, so passing word to them would be good. Honestly though-" A shrug. "Kids fighting sets me at a bit of unease. If any of us need extra back up, it's them. ******** kids fighting in a war-"
A head shake as he moved the camera to his pocket. "This is war. War has no place with children. Much less one this old...and violent. To think, it started over love too..." He chuckled. "Love starts a war...sometimes you gotta wonder if love is what will end it too."

Her nose crinkled, eyes squeezing shut as Castor teased her, going so far as to bury her face into her hands momentarily trying very very hard not to think of Niflhel doing.. those kind of things! Even if it might have been totally flattering that he might have liked her that much that he... no no NO! That was gross. When her hands finally withdrew, the flush was certainly still there, and her words were far more wavering then usual. "He's a gentlemen Castor not... not some silly little boy." Yes she was calling him that, with a frumpy pout that was less than intimidating.
She couldn't however... completely disregard his words. Some of them actually made a little sense. Castor was after all the one that was married. She assumed Niflhel knew how she felt but then.. perhaps she was assuming too much. Their argument that had turned nasty, and ironically TO Castor, before was a fresh example.
Life's too short The words rested in her head like a stone. Niflhel had always been so adament about the war being over before they got too serious about anything. But now... there was a soft and sad nagging in her head. One she was trying to keep from even presenting itself. What if it never ended? Or more importantly, what if one of them didn't make it through the war?
The thoughts in her head were perhaps what kept her from reacting with her usual stream of nagging. Even after the flash of the camera, she only pouted some more, her fists balling silently.
"There were two captians.. and a handful of youma. I think the confined areas and chaos of it all really gave them an advantage." She offered the information softly as he thought aloud. Not that it mattered so much.. the important thing was the fact that they were willing and able to attack an elementry school.
His offer to be in contact though.. it pulled forth the hints of a smile on the senshi of magnetism. Which she would later realize as very strange... Before waving it away by realizing that a powerful ally and help.. didn't necessarily mean you had to like everything about the person. As long as the good outweighed the bad.
His concern about the chibis recieved a knowing nod. "I'm on the same page as you in that I'd rather not have them fighting at all..." To think of small children getting broken bones.. or killed, it was the sort of thing of nightmares.
"But I'm also smart enough to know that the more we tell them no.. the more they're going to sneak around and do it anyways. So unless someone wants to sit and keep them prisoner in their rooms every night it's better just to work with them and be there to keep an eye on them."
Aurora was a romantic of sorts.. so when his words and laugh sounded, she frowned a little sadly. "Not love. Jealousy." It wasn't that Serenity and the prince had loved each other. It was that someone else had taken offense to that love.
"Jealousy and desire for power are the things that start a war. All those dark emotions that cloud the mind and feed hatred. Things like love and friendship.. those are the kind of things strengthen our side and will help us win the war." Yes she'd gone there. It seemed Nerissa's nickname of 'Disney princess' hadn't been too far off.

Castor rolled his eyes. "Gentleman. Right. And I am the king of everything and my c**k is a footlong ding dong." He chuckled. "I don't know the guy, but if you're this flustered-" His laugh was less directed at her but more at her situation. "Look, all I'm saying is don't hide feelings. Physical, emotional, whatever. We're fighting everyday. I had moments where I worried I would die and never be able to tell the girl I loved how I felt. It sucks Polaris. Trust me, it sucks major d**k."
Flipping open his phone he scanned her. Why? He could. A smirk. "Scanner shows you can kick some a** Polaris." He gave her a more serious look. "But there are people out there that can kick your a**. Being eternal is great and it makes you a ******** power house, but don't ever think we're invincible." He shook his head. "Even as a prince, One wrong move and I am as dead as anybody else."
Turning Castor kicked at the dust. "The chibi will need a powerhouse to watch over them. Something tells me this is right up your ally. " The dust scattered even more, some blowing away in the light wind. "Love is pretty goddamn powerful." A bitter smile. "Make sure they know that."

If she had been someone more witty or even an ounce less serious she might have tossed his words back at him. Asked if that footlong ding dong was the one redeeming quality Lina found in him. But alas.. Polaris was neither clever and witty or playful. In fact she'd probaby live her entire life without the words ding dong ever leaving her mouth.
"You are so terrible!" She lamented finally out of exasperation, lifting her hands in surrender. It didn't seem to matter how many times she might try to correct him or how irritated she got with it. It was like fighting a solid wall of immaturity. "But maybe a little right about a thing or two" It was obvious how much it pained her to admit that outloud, and as if to help try and dismiss it she added lightly. "Do you know how terribly frusterating that is for me?"
Her arms crossed primly across her chest when he pulled out his phone again, just waiting for more pictures to be taken that she'd surely never live down. She was silently thanking the stars that she'd gained more skirts and her bottom wasn't quite as apparent through them as it used to be. When she realized he was scanning her though...
She couldn't help but puff a little in surprise and pride. Of course there was a 'but' behind it, but nonetheless Polaris had always been a fan of ego stroking. Especially considering the source.
"It just means we can never been afraid to ask for help. And never dilly dally too long over it either." Sure there was still the chance of being surprised... But when it was your time it was your time.. no point in worrying to death every moment of your life.
Castor surprised her once again with another unexpected show of wisdom, and Polaris nodded to his words about the chibis slowly at first but then with a bit more resolve. It was an idea that been at the back of her head.. but hearing someone else say it as if she might be good at it only strengthened her resolve all the more. "I'll do my best. On both fronts."
Maybe she'd been wrong about the prince after all this time... She was starting to see just why he'd tresended above the rest. The moments might be short and fleeting, but Castor certainly had his glimmering moments.

Castor smirked. "I am terrible, that is why I got the target painted on my back, remember? It's also why I survived." He blinked. "Well plus I am just damn lucky and that ******** cat has damn good timing, but that is all irrelevant." Pointing a finger at the senshi of magnetism he smiled. "Point is, you're an eternal Polaris. Welcome to the big leagues." Looking out into the city he felt both hope and fear. Hope in that they could win, fear in that they could lose...that they would lose. But with another eternal senshi, there was still hope. And even in the face of darkness, Castor liked to think that was all they needed. Hope. And Love. The ever present force. Love for a Princess. Love for their world. Love was what had given him a reason to fight. Love is what gave him hope. And it was the one thing that had never proven him wrong.
"Don't ever forget Polaris." A soft smile as he started to walk away. "Don't ever forget about love."

That was likely.. very very true. Goodness knew how she'd have treated him if he were on the other side. Heck.. she'd pretty much been convinced for awhile he WAS on the other side. She nodded a little to his words though, not having much to add to it.
Castor had luck and he had friends. It was the best weapons a senshi had in this fight against darkness. And love.
"I'll see you soon" She called after him, a soft and subtle promise to herself and him to restrengthen those bonds. To call him if he was needed, to keep him in touch with what was going on. Castor was a good ally to have.. it'd just taken her a little longer to realize it.
She waited until he was almost gone before she finally turned herself, retreating into the night with a lot of things to mill over.
