It was fairly early in the evening, not long after Polaris had first started rping that she felt the subtle pulse of dark energy in the distance. Somewhere in the night.. not too far away there was a bad guy, someone likely up to know good. And so she'd set out trying to find the source of the pulse.
It was so much easier when it was senshi, she'd feel their light energy and just dig out her phone. It was always just a matter of time before she spotted the ally. But negaverse... not so much?
Especially if they were moving around, which she assumed to be the case since after over a half hour she'd still not gotten any closer to finding the source of darkness.
Her boots padded the streets in a soft job, her eyes peering down each alleyway as she passed, pausing only to peek briefly into the couple of abandoned buildings on the strip.
A soft hissing grabbed her attention, having not noticed the youma in her search for a Lt. The large serpetine youma rose up, standing taller then even the senshi as it hissed again, bearing it's venomous fangs. Polaris was barely able to hop back and away from it's intial strike.
What was that old saying? If it were a snake if would have bitten you by now. Lesson learned.

Castille henshined up, twisting in her mirror while fondling the end of her red feathery bow. It was now adorned with a string of beads ending in a feather charm. The black matched the stripe that was at the bottom of her skirt, and the bow on her chest. The upgraded fuku looked good with her new hair color. It was now a light blonde rather than her natural dark blonde, and faint red streaks twisted in and out of her buns. She gazed closely at the mirror, deciding that the next time she had them done, she would make the red darker.
It was a strange feeling, being Super. She had powered up during a youma fight, and it had taken her completely by surprise. The energy and power she felt was stronger than before. She had yet to use her new attack, but maybe it would be better than the first one she got...
Sliding the window closed carefully, Super Sailor Grus jumped from the second story roof to the ground, and ran down the street. She immediately felt the ping of another senshi, followed by a shadow that was a youma. She altered her course, mismatched shoes clicking a tune in the night time. Picking her way through the streets, she heard it before coming upon the start of a battle. The Senshi that was there seemed to be a powerful one, her aura radiated outwards much stronger than Grus' thought hers was. The youma's power didn't seem too strong though. It was coiled up, like a spring. Then it struck out at the senshi, and Castille instinctively gasped.
"Need some help?" She called out to the girl.
The youma, which now looked seriously like a snake, twisted it's fanged head to gaze at Grus and hiss menacingly, as if to say -Leave us alone-.

It had taken a bit of quick footwork to step back and back away from the striking youma, her attention more on staying up then attacking just yet. Strategy was a good thing, and considering her power took into effect the environment.. it was often better she atleast get a glance at what was around.
A voice broke her attention however, also drawing the attention of the youma and Polaris finally had a moment to pause, her boots steadying against the pavement.
"Help is always loved" She called out pleasantly. Not the gruff and tuff leave me alone sort of senshi. There wasn't worry or desperation in her words either.. simply friendliness. Polaris was proud, but not in the way that she needed to kill things alone to feel good. Really she loved nothing more than teaming up with people, especially new people.
Only this one wasn't.. completely new was she? There was something familiar, but it was something she could question later.
"Just be careful!" She noted, before finally letting her eyes scan the area for weapons. Plenty of metal around, good. This would be a nice and quick battle if they played their cards right.

Grus nodded, looking at the girl more closely. Had she seen this girl before? The fuku definitely looked familiar, but she couldn't place where she might have seen it.
She youma was hissing madly, irritated at the fact that it was now outnumbered. It started to stretch out, slithering toward Grus slowly with evil eyes. She took a few steps forward toward it. Her power had a ten foot range, and she had to make sure she was inside that in order to hit him...
Her new power's name appeared in her head, and she called out "Feather-fall Strike!" The mass of feathers, instead of typically floating about lazily, were moving with more purpose, and Grus could see that when they twisted just right, there was a faint red and yellow sparkle to them.
The cloud of feathers shot from her outstretched fingers toward the snake, and it hissed angrily as the edges of the feathers made tiny cuts along it body.

There it was! As the flurry of ivory feathers suddenly began to fall Polaris realized just where she'd seen the other girl. Her outfit had changed a little.. perhaps a super senshi now? And the attack seemed a bit more forceful then it had been last time. But it was definately there.. she was the girl at that camp battle, the one whose feathers had given Niflhel the oppurtunity to take out one of those nasty monsters.
The feathers were making small slices on the snake youma, causing it to twist and flail in irritation. It was a perfect oppurtunity, she'd better take it.
"Magnetic field!" The little bits of random metal that littered the streets lifted from the ground before making a beeline for the writhing youma. Screws, bolts, tiny bits of muffler, and even a good sized trash can pounded the monster before falling to the ground once more. The youma hissed from the double onslaught.
It almost seemed too easy. Not that she was going to complain, that was what working together was all about.

Grus watched as the onslaught of feathers and metal wore the snake down rather quickly. This one wasn't much of a youma, but she wasn't going to complain about an easy fight. After all, if the trash can dusted it, she wouldn't have to touch it...
But it still hung on after the metal fell away. Grus remained where she was, her feet rotted to the spot. It looked like one final kick could do the job, but she wasn't about to be the one that delivered it. She cast a sidelong glance at the other senshi, hoping she would catch the hint and finish the youma off herself without asking any questions.
Grus didn't want to have to explain once again that she was a failure as a senshi.

Polaris didn't need more then the small glance to get the picture. She was happy to sit back and guide sometimes if need be, reliquish the spotlight on occassions when it might actually help the other senshi. But she was not the sort to shy away from the spotlight or a fight.
It was more of a stomp than a kick as Polaris ran towards the snake youma, head thick boots landing hard on top of the creatures back. The pressure and it's weakness was enough and as the youma opened it's fanged mouth to hiss it popped, spreading dust through the street.
The eternal senshi took a brief moment to catch her breath and brush some of the dust off her skirt before she turned back to her companion, quickly making her way over, complimenting her softly. "Great job, thanks for the help. That new attack is pretty awesome."
Hand outstretched she smiled. "I remember you from camp but I'm afraid I was a little out of it that night so...." Wounds made you pretty loopy sometimes, especially when you were exerting energy left and right through attacks. "I'm Sailor Polaris, senshi of magnetism" She couldn't recall whether they'd introduced themselves back then.. but hopefully the other girl would realize that from her words.

It didn't take much to finish the youma, just as Grus had suspected. She did flinch slightly when the senshi jumped on it's back. But she heard the tell tale POOF as the creature turned to dust.
She smiled as the compliment "Thank you. I'm just glad I can actually do a little damage with it now."
Something about this girl made Grus a little less afraid. Maybe it was the way she treated the youma so..flippantly. Like it didn't scare her in the slightest. When she mentioned camp, a lightbulb went off in her head. That's where she recognized her from! She was the one fighting by NIfhel when the swamp monsters made an appearance.
"I remember you!" She said brightly, clasping the girl hand with her own. "I'm Grus, senshi of Feathers."

"Great to officially meet you Grus, and congratulations on the power up" She replied cheerily as she shook the other senshi of feather's hand. The decorations in her hair clacked and tinked together with the motion.
"I've heard it can be very hard for defensive attack senshi, so that's great that it's powered up the way it has. But really, it was never a bad attack to start with." The other girl's outfit wasn't bad either, really very cute actually!
"Anyway..." She shoed away the words with her free hand lightly.
"Are you on your way someplace or would you like to join me for a little longer? I don't usually run into multiple youma, but you never know. And besides, chatting helps pass the time."

"There are just some..difficulties I've faced with having a defensive attack." She didn't elaborate, didn't really want to. "I''m a lot better off now that there is some offense bit to it."
She shook her head quickly, new feather earrings hitting her cheek with the speed of her head shake. "I don't have any plans really. Just do some patrolling." She smiled, tilting her head to the right "But I would love to join you on your patrol!" Her gaze drifted to the mid-sized wings that adorned her back where Grus's bow was on her fuku.
"Are those..part of your fuku?" She asked, pointing to the wings.

She nodded sympathetically, not digging past what the girl had offered. Polaris had been VERY lucky, having been awakened with a great offensive attack from the very beginning. She never had to deal with that same hardship that some other senshi had.. and who knew how she would have even done if she'd had to? Polaris didn't ever even fight for months after her first awakening.. simply relying on dodging and throwing metal at people.
"Great" She replied to Grus' acceptance, motioning towards the street in the north facing direction. Any objections?
Glancing back at her own fuku thanks to the pointing she grinned a little, turning a bit to give the other girl a better view. "I must be your first Eternal senshi then?"
"It's part of the fuku. Everyone gets them when they go eternal. And the princes and princesses have full huge ones."
"The term of choice seems to be 'butt wings', but I think that's a terrible name for something so lovely" Polaris was perhaps.. one of the few that actually liked hers.. wore them like a badge of freaking honor!
"You're already so covered in pretty feathers and wings, I bet yours will be absolutely gorgeous when the time comes." She added with a sweet smile as she turned back around and began to walk towards the street.

"Butt wings huh?" She said, considering them. They weren't too bad. In fact, with the color scheme Polaris had going on they looked quite nice. She supposed her's would be nice too...once she went Eternal that is. She smiled back for the compliment, internally deciding that she liked this Polaris. "Are they plastic?" She asked, following the other girl northward. They had a shiny quality like plastic, but seemed more fragile..The other thing she had said made her pause a moment before continuing her step.
"Wait, there are princes and princesses?" The thought confused her. So other planets ruled over one another? I guess that made sense, since humans have been doing that since long before the written word was around to write stories about the battles. She couldn't help but wonder who ruled over her planet. Or if her planet ruled over someone elses.

"I... I don't know" She laughed a little thoughtfully, taking a moment to poke gently at the small wings, seemingly offering Grus the opportunity too if she wanted.
The senshi of feathers surprise was met with another knowing smile. How many times had she had this conversation now? Not that she particularly minded. It was nice to clue people in and keep her mind fresh.. not to mention sometimes she was given new tidbits of information or ideas.
"There is of course the Moon Princess and the Princess of the Zodiacs. But there is also Prince Castor. I'm not so sure about the other two but Castor began out just like the rest of us. I knew him back when we were both very new to this."
Something stopped her in her step, head cocking a little to try and pick up the sound. She didn't feel any dark energy... but it did sound like shouting. Expression quizzical, she motioned softly for Grus to follow. It might be nothing.. but who knew? Better safe then sorry after all!

Grus blinked as Polaris started rattling off names. Moon Princess? Zodiacs? She spoke of them like everyone should know about them. But who were these people? She knew of course about the Moon, and the Zodiac signs, but there were senshi of them?
And this...Castor, was it? He started out as a regular ol' senshi like her? How did he become a prince? Did that mean that she was a princess as well?
This whole thing was getting a little to crazy for her. There was so much she needed to know! So much to do! The realization that she was still so far behind other senshi sometimes made her want to sit on the ground and cry, or quit. It was frustrating.
The questions milled around in her head, clamoring for attention. But just as she was about to open her mouth, she was silenced by Polaris's actions. It took her a moment to realize that she too heard someone shouting.

The looks of 'whut...?' was one the senshi of magnetism was becoming all too accustom to. Grus was met with an apologetic but knowing smile. So many senshi in the dark! Maybe she need to just be blabbing it to ever person she met just so she knew it would start to get around. But then... it could end up like that old telephone game that you played in school. Where by the time you got to the end of the line that beginning phrase had shifted to something else completely different, mangled along the way by being passed on so many times.
No.. it wasn't a big deal, she was happy to go over it herself. Since she had the experience. But now wasn't exactly the time.
"I'm not really certain how Castor became a prince. I don't think it's something we all can do..." Maybe they could.. but.. at the same time.. the thought of 50 princesses running around the town seemed so ludacrious. Her voice was hushed as she spoke, and once again she stopped when the source of the yelling came into sight, peering softly around the corner and down the alley.
There was a group of guys gathered together.. three or four of them, all fairly intoxicated and heated, whooping and hollering. Though the words weren't entirely intelligible they could hear the occassional word or curse. It took Polaris a long moment to figure out what was going on.
One of the men lifted a bottle high into the air before tossing it towards the ground, the sound of shattering glass and grunting echoing loudly through the corridor. When the man in the leather jacket shifted to kick she finally noticed the man in the middle, sprawled across the ground.
Blood flowed from his nose, his hair and clothing very dirty and disheveled, his face was puffy like meat through a tenderizer. Around him his attackers laughed and chortled, spewing more curse words and taunts as they reeled back for more kicks.
It felt like her heart had stopped, as if she couldn't breath. Her fist clenched in anger and disgust. It wasn't the negaverse or a youma.. but that didn't make it any less 'evil' or worthy of her attention.
Turning back to Grus, she stared at the other girl intensely for a long moment, insisting quickly. "We HAVE to help him!"
Grus wasn't given much time to respond because already Polaris was powering around the corner, calling out loudly. "Hey! Hey!"
"What do you guys think you're doing!?"
Four faces turned to look, seeming startled at first, and then less so when they realized it wasn't the cop. Just some girl in a sleezy outfit. What was she really going to do against four full grown men.
"Get out of here sweetheart. Or we're going to have to mess up that pretty little face of yours."
