It had become a fairly common occurance since they'd returned from camp. With her new large apartment with fully functional kitchen and his lack of grandmother and food provider Azzo was often over for a homecooked meal. Even if they weren't technically dating it still would have likely been the case, because he was a friend in need (really it was impossible to survive on cereal and microwave meals!!) and she just LOVED to cook. Ecspecially for someone so enthusiastic about it.
So the phonecall inviting him had hardly seemed out of the ordinary. Tonight however... there had been some ulterior motives hiding underneath the usual routine. It was something she'd been able to hide pretty well through the earlier hours of the evening when she was cooking and even while eating. But as the clock drew carefully onward she was getting all the more nervous.. all the more uneasy, and she was doing her very very best to hide it.
She had been eating slowly, trying to stall for time, but the end had finally come and after she'd finished off the last bite on her plate, she offered him a smile, asking as she always did. "Did you enjoy it Azzo?"

If it was one thing Azzo loved, it was food. And while he tried to avoid invaiding Aurora's space too much he had to admit that fast food had nothing on this. As always Aurora had fixed a meal in which Azzo ate happily, though he was trying to not act like he was slightly concerned.
Aurora was being a bit more... edgy than normal. While certain things escaped the boy's powers of observation, this one was hard to miss. Though he didn't want to say anything in case Aurora was just having a bad day. "Yes it was delicious." He answered as he took the plates and utensils to the sink, more out of habit than anything. He fixed his rolled up sleeves, "Want me to do the dishes?" He asked leaning on the cabinets waiting for an answer.
Maybe she'd talk if something was bothering her... He really wasn't sure if he wanted to pry it out of her.

She thought she was doing a pretty good job, but his familiarity with her perhaps let him see what she thought she was hiding. In truth she was very tired. Not just from senshi business but because of a handful of sleepness worrisome nights. She tried to convince herself the noises she heard were just new sounds from her apartment.. and yet.. here she was.. secretly trying to think of ways to keep him there.
But she couldn't say it outloud. In the best case scenario he'd laugh at her.. tell her she was being an absolute little girl. Worse case he'd actually believe her.. and then the two of them would end up up all night worrying.
She smiled to the compliment, lifting herself to help him carry the glasses towards the kitchen. Wonderful! She hadn't even needed to come up with something. "That'd be nice of you" She agreed, joining him at the sink to help if it looked like he needed it.
Soothing her simple white dress lightly, she tried to dig up conversation while avoiding what was on her mind. "Are you going to be going out tonight..?"

Azzo filled the sink with water and soap after getting the water warm enough. He hummed as he watched, "You know cooks don't wash the dishes in my house." He chuckled as he took the rag and started scrubbing the cups.
"Probably not. Merlin's been spazzing out lately. I haven't been able to figure out what it is, but something's clearly bothering him. The vet hasn't found anything either." He replied as he worked his way through the glasses that needed to be cleaned and then rinsed before placing them in the dish drain.
He paused, "You going out?" He asked curiously, almost hoping she wasn't. He couldn't really keep up with the dog and her. While Merlin's health was important he'd be following her if she was going to go out.

"Always so polite" It was one of his better qualities.
She suddenly felt very guilty, and her fingers lifted to her hair, fidgeting softly with one of the thick braids. She hadn't known that something was wrong with Merlin... nor that Azzo was worried about him. And her she was trying to find a way to ask him to stay the night.. when he should totally be home with his dog... Aurora had never really had many pets of her own, but she understood quite clearly the bond some people had with them.
"Poor thing... hopefully it's nothing serious." She offered geniunely, a soft and concerned smile being cast towards him.
Hands lowering, her hands began to subconciously tap against the countertop as her eyes strayed towards the clock. "No.. not tonight. Maybe tomorrow"
Her fingers paused as she watched him scrubbing a plate, in her mind warring with that feeling of guilt. "I know you probably want to get home to him before to long... so I suppose you wouldn't want to watch a movie with me.. or anything..?"

He chuckled, softly as he rinsed the dish before sticking it in the drain too, "I'm hoping he's just missing Grams." He replied when he picked up the other dish to wash it.
He seemed to be thinking before pausing holding the dish in his hand and looking at Aurora almost suspicious, "What's wrong Aurora?" He shifted to rinse the dish while still watching her, "You seem kinda edgy..." He was thinking, it almost seemed to be the same way Merlin was acting. Which caused him to frown.
He was making sure there was nothing else to clean before letting the soapy water from the sink and rinsed it out so there was no soap residue left.

Aurora stiffened softly as it appeared she'd been caught, her breath catching for a moment before her teeth bit gently down onto her own lip. She was so ashamed... she felt so silly and ridiculous. And yet.. her heart fluttered with the thought of another night starring at her phone and wishing he were there to protect her.
So a change of plans was in order.
"N.. nothing! I'm just not very good at this I guess" Her expression sheepish as she drew closer, wrapping her arms around his free one, hugging it close to her chest as her eyes averted.
"I thought this was what boyfriends and girlfriends did... Watch movies and stuff." Stuff like stay the night. She silently pleaded he'd buy it.

Azzo looked at her, he wasn't completely convinced that's all that was bothering. "As far as I know it is," He said simply as he thought about it, looking around her apartment.
He sighed, "Do you want me to get Merlin?" He asked after a second, "That way you know, I don't have to worry about him going nuts and tearing the house apart and we can watch a movie." He paused, "He's house trained." He added to assure Aurora, in case she had any doubts.
"I just can't give him voice commands to stop if I'm not around him then we can watch whatever movie you want, as long as you don't mind me crashing on the couch." He had noticed the time and it was sorta getting late, it looked like if he didn't leave now he'd end up staying all night. So a compromise was in order.

Somewhere deep down it broke her heart to hear him sigh like that.. to have it seem like it was.. so much work and inconvience for him to be with her and spend time with her. But she was too needy and too excited that her plan had possibly worked to ponder it too long.
"That sounds like a lot of trouble.. if you're sure you don't mind?"
She wasn't really sure if dogs his size were allowed.. but this late at night the likelyhood of being caught bringing him in was low. It was that same sort of idea that had convinced her that maybe it wasn't so life shattering that a boy stay over the night at her apartment. It wasn't like they were doing anything indecent if they just slept. And this late at night it was unlikely too many were outside to see them and make assumptions.
"It would be fine if you stayed tonight." She had to try hard not to look too excited as the words left her mouth.

It wasn't that it was trouble, it was that he had a feeling she wasn't telling him the whole truth which was the reason for the sigh. He paused, "Well it's either I go and come back or you stay at my place." He said pausing.
He knew how to get Merlin in without being seen, at least he had an idea on it. With a hum, he nodded, "Alright then I'll go get him, I shouldn't be too long." He added as he slipped out the fire escape with a grin, "Mainly because I don't plan on being caught or playing around tonight." Normally he'd attempt to irritate negaverse agents but tonight it was a quick errand get the dog and get back.

Hurry back.. she mouthed towards the fire escape as he disapeared, leaving her alone once more, if only for a little while. Even with the thought of him returning she couldn't help but feel nervous, spin around at the tiniest noise.
She busied herself in the meantime while he was gone, digging through a box to find her pathetically small collection of dvds. Setting out a large mixing bowl with water and another with some meat scraps, not having any actual dog food to offer.
A blanket was tossed across the small cushion covered couch.
Click click click.. her eyes darted.. what was that noise?

Niflhel looked around as he made his way roof jumping from building to building, making sure he didn't run into anything unexpected to grab the white German Shepard from his home, giving a moment before he reached his house to turn back into Azzo having made sure no one saw him. Grabbing a duffel bag he shoved in some bags of dog food and a clean set of clothes, as well as a towel and some toys for Merlin. He then grabbed the dog's leash.
"Come on Merlin we're going for a walk." He hoped the dog wouldn't have a fit when he turned into Niflhel to carry the dog across the rooftops of Destiny. Soon enough with a little struggle Azzo had set Merlin inside the window of Aurora's apartment his claws clicking on the floor and then Azzo climbed in the window. "Luceyyyyyyy I'm home~" He called in his best Ricky Ricardo voice.

Her heart was absolutely in her stomach as the strange sound echo'd through the room, followed by the unfamiliar(?) bellowing voice. She had been right all along! It was someone from the negaverse.. someone who had figured her out and was finally here and ready to attack!
Only.. the voice wasn't that unfamiliar.. and as Niflhel and a rightfully frightened looking dog slipped through her window the fear washed away to relief. "You about scared me to death!" She hissed nonetheless, her hand coming to rest above her heart as she waited for the flutter to subside.
Closing the window softly behind him, she drew the shades behind him, hoping noone witnessed his sneaking in and out.
"Hello Merlin" She offered softly as the dog seemed to look around the strange new surroundings. Now that she thought about it having him there made her feel a bit more comfortable. Not that... he'd be able to do much if they were attacked.. but the feeling was there nonetheless.

Niflhel was soon Azzo again and he looked at her, "So you were lying to me." He said crossing his arms and leaning again the wall near the window as she drew the shades.
"Now what's going on?" He asked eyes narrowing, "Don't make me ground you." He was slightly teasing, as he watched Merlin explore the new surroundings, he only 'grounded' Aurora after her having gotten that knife wound and arrow shoved into it. However that didn't mean Azzo wouldn't do it again.
Merlin was sniffing at Aurora, and then moved over to the bag Azzo had brought and tried to root in it. Find that the zipper was holding the bag closed the dog whined. "I'll feed you in a second boy." He said as he picked up the bag. "I brought some food and stuff for Merlin." He explained.

Why was he so darn intuitive? The trait that had always made him so good at listening and comforting was proving to be a thorn in her side this evening.
"I'm not lying, I really do want to spend more time with you. Is that so wrong?" Her voice was soft as she strung together the words tiredly. It was a lie, but of course he was right that there was more too it.
She plopped onto the couch in frusteration.. a bit more childishly then was usual of the usually so mature girl. Soothing the edges of her hem, she threw it back at him, hoping to put him on the defensive just to get it off of her. "Why do you have to be so difficult? Other boys would jump at the chance to snuggle up on the couch"
