Maybe she was being a child and rebelling against Azzo. Or maybe she was actually trying to do something semi responsible. Become accustom to the new form that she'd had no practice in other than in a moment of dire need. Feel out her new powers before she needed to use them, so she didn't stumble into a battle blind. Maybe she'd even deluded herself in the thought that all of the youma in town would be drawn to her, leaving the civilians out this late at night safe and free of prosecution.

Whatever the reason, here she was... Princess Polaris, senshi of magnetism, in all her royal glory... jumping from one rooftop to the next, her wings moving instinctively outwards to let her glide to a slower landing. The difference between her once sensible boots and her new delicate heels was probably the strangest of changes, and she was trying to get used to it.

The change to heels was one thing Benitoite could attest to being very odd. More accustomed, as a civilian, to shoes with little to no heel the boots with a hell had been a bit odd at first. Even with his leveling up to Captain it had been odd, as he'd gained more of a heel to his boots. But that was neither here nor there and he was accustomed enough to the new heel, by now, that it wasn't much of an issue. He still had issues with mud, sand, and other such obvious things. But roof top jumping like he was doing tonight was no issue, actually he rather liked this mode of transportation. It afforded him a nice view of the city, if only he could enjoy that right now.

He'd been out a good hour and a half already, gathering energy, when he'd felt something that had for an instant scared him. It was more than he'd felt when encountering that eternal, and he had never dealt with a royal. He hadn't even a clue about them beyond the white moon's Princess and the Princess of the Dark Mirror court. He was unaware of that one, Castor. It wasn't a senshi he'd heard of or seen ever. Either way the blond had swallowed his nervousness, stamped it out before it grew and took over his being, and changed his course.

Headed for this power, he knew it had to be a senshi. But what senshi and just what was it they may, they being the Negaverse, one day have to face? He was really starting to grow a dislike for the unknown, and a rather healthy liking for answers and asking questions. It wasn't something entirely new, it had started right after that first meeting with that eternal, it had been growing though more and more as of late. It was this need to know which drove him from roof top to roof top as he moved with relative grace and a fair amount of speed, something some may call a stupid thing on his part - heading toward some power like this. But he snuffed that thought from his mind before it even completed itself. He needed to know.

Beyond the heels of her dainty shoes there was something else that was fairly distracting for the new princess. One day, when properly honed, it would probably be a great advantage for her, but today in her first days.. the sudden feeling of knowing.. or feeling things in the area.. it was just plain weird.

She was walking across a roof when she felt the strange a soft recognition.. something large.. something metallic... turning towards the sensation she stared for a moment at the large air conditioning unit. It was large.. heavy.. perhaps even bolted to the ground. For a moment she wondered if she was strong enough to send it flying. It was a wonder she did not act upon however... she'd done more than enough property damage for one week already...

Her attention on the strange sensations kept her from noticing the approaching power at first, but when she finally noticed it, she stopped, gazing across the rooftops in search of the source.

It was what she'd been waiting for, wasn't it? And there was no way she was running. The power level wasn't that high either. As long as she played it smart, there would be no need to run, even if it did find her.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 08, 2011 3:09 pm

And it did find her, leaping across a rooftop hair flying across his face in silken stands of ash blond. Heels hit the rooftop with a clack before he sprinted across the cement rooftop and made the last leap. Landing upon the roof the heavenly maiden stood on. He didn't move once he'd landed, aside from straightening himself to his full - short - height.

He'd seen her a ways off, those wings were hard if not impossible to miss. "What...are you?" He knew she was a senshi but beyond that. Was she beyond eternal? a Princess...was there some rank between the two? Could every senshi become....this? If so he could see a very good reason for killing senshi, keep the enemy from all becoming this. He didn't say any of this, his mind busy taking in what his eyes were looking over. She certainly earned the heavenly maiden title he'd unconsciously given her.

"What sort of senshi are you?" He didn't move closer, for fear she may be one of those who attacked first and didn't ask questions at all. He did not care to be too close so if she turned to attack he would have no time to teleport out of dangers way.

She was actually a little surprised he got as near as he did, especially when the question sounded. Watching him carefully, taking in the details of his appearance, she couldn't help but think he was either very brave and confident... or stupidly allowing his curiosity to take over.

She didn't realize he thought he was far enough away not to be attacked, and it would be a sad surprise for him if she did indeed end up attacking across the distance. Her mind went back to that air conditioning unit not far away.

But she wasn't feeling particularly blood thirsty today, and all he'd done was ask a question. Maybe he was new enough and just didn't know much? Maybe he was the sort of enemy that wasn't in so deep they could be rehabilitated?

She stood as tall as she could, her natural 5'8 height lifted an extra inch or so by her new heels, her wings stretching out just a little.. like a bird trying to make itself as big as possible to intimidate another.

"I'm the Princess of the North Star, Polaris. I am also the eternal senshi of magnetism." The words were matter of fact, a clear answer to his question. "And you are? A captain of some sort, I know." Years of doing this had made her pretty good at telling the difference between power levels.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 09, 2011 10:32 am

Well, that answered his question. And he really wondered if she was attempting to look, or act, like some peacock or other bird with plumage used for some mating ritual or another. She seemed to be trying to look bigger, no need to really...she already had him beat when it came to height. But he also wondered if it was done on purpose or some instinct or royal thing. He didn't give it any vocalization, the question.

"The guiding star which lead sailors, and others, home." He spoke the thought aloud. He didn't know why he said something that was perhaps random, maybe considering who he stood in front of it wasn't that random of a comment. Either way he nodded his head to her next words.

"Captain Benitoite." He wasn't that new to be stupid but he also didn't know the range of her attacks nor what they did though he did have some clue on what they revolved around now. He still thought he was good distance wise, if he had a clue he wasn't safe at the distance he was at he'd be backing up further. He didn't know what sort of senshi this was, the kind who was out for blood or the sort which talked.

The next question he asked he couldn't help, it was just a thought which occurred to him while looking over the rather flowy dress. "It shouldn't be a shock that I ask this, a minor curiosity, but how would you fight - if you needed to, in a dress like that? It seems rather impracticable for anything besides magic use." And he knew that couldn't always be counted on in a fight, the senshi he'd fought had used magic but also fists and feet.

It was a subconcious action, the puffing, something learned early on by a young girl that often tried to put herself in between fights of brothers far larger than her. When everyone around you fought with hands and you only fought with words well... any intimidation you could offer was helpful.

She had been watching him carefully, tentatively, but as he spoke 'randomly' a small smile crept to her face. It was a mantra and statement she'd said herself more then a handful of time, announced in battle to many a strange look. It was interesting to hear someone else say it for once, especially someone from the other team. It had likely been rhetorical, but it didn't stop her from offering an soft and amused whisper. "I try my best at least. Do you feel lost?"

He was obviously an officer she'd never seen before, but the name didn't offer up much of a clue either, never having heard it from fellow senshi. Which was perhaps a good thing really.. one that stilled her hand and gave him at least a momentary benefit of the doubt.

His question however caught her off guard, a brief and confused look touching her face. Not so much because of the question, even if it was strange, but because really... she didn't know so much. Didn't have much experience really galavanting around in this particular form. Would the dress be restricting? Would you trip on the lengths? It was definately not the sort of thing to admit to an enemy, there was never a time to show weakness.

"My magic tends to be one of the more impressive kinds. For my first few months of senshihood I used nothing BUT my magic in fights and it worked alright."

"However, ladies learn early how to move in large or long dresses." As if to prove the point, one hand lowered to grasp a fold of the dress, the hem inching up a little more from her shoes, as she often grabbed at ballgowns when trying to dance or walk. Fighting with one free hand was hardly a great strategy though, so after a moment she added on. "Besides, if a problem arises I'm free to shift back to my other form, and that one certainly doesn't have anything to trip over." It was a joke, making fun of the fuku that often caused her moments of worry and discomfort. But it probably went over his head having never met her or seen her 'stripper-esque' fashion.

"Aren't all people? No one has every answer, nor will they ever. So in a way all people are." His words came after a few moments of thought. Thoughtful and quite, a little above a whisper, and with a certain calmness. It was a simple question but it was true, wasn't it? Weren't all people lost? There would be questions for everyone which would never be answered, and didn't those cause them to become lost? Wasn't his lack of knowledge what caused himself to feel lost, and cause him to strive toward what he knew to be impossible to achieve. He didn't say this though, he wouldn't outright admit to being lost, let her assume by his words that he too was lost. It was his way of answering, flat out, without saying the exact words.

Listening as she answered his question he tilted his head a bit. Using only your magic? That seemed a bit...immature. He had learned that he couldn't rely completely on his weapon, but perhaps that was due to it's previous size and level of uselessness. Where there actually senshi who did that? He'd met only ones who seemed ready to use magic and their fists or feet. Somehow the idea of putting all your hopes, for a victory, into your magic seemed childish and stupid.

"So, you needn't be in this form. Interesting. Pardon my lack of knowledge, I've simply never encountered a royal senshi aside from Ares. So my knowledge is terribly lacking in this field. I was unaware you could go between...this and I assume your eternal form. That would be useful, considering how much those uniforms seem to lack in the way of fabric." He was speaking as polite as he would to his mothers friends, polite and yet making his feelings on the uniforms known as well. They lacked, a lot. He hadn't seen her uniform per say but he had little doubted that it lacked in a fabric - a lot. They all seemed to be far too short.

"Can all senshi become what you are now?" The idea again struck him as bad, a reason to kill all senshi before they could rise to this level of power. But the guilt and the pain over the idea of killing reared it's head and struck viciously at his conscious mind. Reminding him of that scream and how that senshi was soon just another teenager who could have been anyone, and grown up to be anyone. He hadn't seen her eyes but his mind more than made up for this. And that other senshi. Again he hadn't seen her eyes but his mind was nice enough to supply it's own imagined up appearance for them. For a moment he was lost in his thoughts, in the guilt he felt and the pain. He'd seen the news clip about the dead girl in the bus terminal that was found, and the drunks who had been found and gave their account of the incident. He could only hope this senshi hadn't seen it, hadn't realized the girl dead had been a senshi. But for a brief moment he thought that if she knew he deserved whatever she may dish out to him. But no...that girl had been a senshi and had been a risk to himself and Sugilite. No, he couldn't and wouldn't kill again. Even if they could all become like this, he'd leave it to others who were better equipped mentally, he wouldn't kill again.

Focusing back on the princess he waited to hear her answer. Was the enemy capable of all being this strong? What sort of danger would it pose?

"I do not feel lost."

It was a bold statement. Strong and precise in the still air. Even her posture seemed to agree with her statement, her poise tall and proud, unwavering.

When one was ready and willing to give up their life... when decisions and situations not suited for teenagers were still thrust upon them.. it helped to line priorities in one's head. When someone like Aurora, who was so in love with the daydream idea of love could even set that aside for something like this war... It was all priorities. Duty. Responsibility.

It was true there would always be questions about things. That there would be tiny hiccups in life that drove you crazy for a moment, that made you question your daily dealings. But there were certain things in a person that stayed steel and strong once properly cemented. Morals, justice, righteousness. Good versus evil. These ideas had been stamped in Polaris' head and heart for a long while, and becoming a princess had only solidified those thoughts, burning them into her heart without question. No.. she was not the sort to waver when it came to something important. Whether her thoughts were right or wrong might be a question for someone else, but they were beliefs she would never sway from. Something that could never be lost.

After a moment for the strong words to sink in she continued, fingers lightly playing with the fur of her sleeves. "Perhaps on tiny, inconsequental things I might find myself confused or uncertain for a little while. But when it comes to the big things.. the real things. I can see quite clearly where I am headed. The kind of person I want to be and help others to become."

"You do not need every answer to believe or have faith."

The name 'Ares' brought a momentary twitch to her lips, a softly noticeable downturn as the dark princess was mentioned. Polaris had really not met her other than in passing, but she had a tainted reputation thanks to her actions. First the parallel group lead by Nehelenia... then the Black Moon Court... and finally.. if Sirius was right, the entire cause of the new Dark Moon senshi. Polaris both hoped to never have to meet the terrible senshi... but also wished deep in her heart the oppurtunity to rid the world of such darkness.

"That's correct. I can shift at will between Princess Polaris or Eternal Sailor Polaris depending on my needs." His comment on fukus or lack thereof stilled any thoughts she might have had about giving him a little demonstration, always having been a little embarrassed by her own outfit.

"Can we all...?" It was a question that had been posed to her before... back in days when she could never imagine that one day she herself would be gifted the power and responsibility of her new title. Just as then she had no clue to the answer, and offered him a light shrug. "I'm not really certain if we all can. Though I do know that so far I haven't seen very many."

She was smart enough not to divulge in how many or who like she usually did when a fellow senshi inquired. Talking to the enemy was alright.. sometimes. But giving away important and potentially fatal information.. not okay.

"What of your group? I've seen the beasts that have risen above the rest with their brutality and power." General kings and queens... huge blood thirsty monster youma... "Can you all become that?" It was perhaps a little rhetorical.

As the Princess spoke the Captain listened. Her opening statement was indeed bold. To not feel lost, though did not feeling lost mean one wasn't lost? A person could surely be lost and not feel it, right? He didn't speak though, instead he focused on her words and took them in, he was polite and curious if nothing else. He wanted to hear what this senshi had to say, what her thoughts and opinions were.

When she had finished he finally worked his way through the ideas, words and questions, which had been cropping up in his mind as she spoke. He had been polite and waited for her to finish, wanting to construct his thoughts in a proper fashion. Finally he was ready to speak.

"Perhaps but would it be a wise thing to simply believe and have faith in something without knowing everything possible?" A hand at his side clenched for a brief moment. "I don't like remaining faithful to something without seeking out every bit of information which I can. I may, by not seeking out everything, not find something out which would perhaps turn my beliefs around. It is...something I would not wish to do - follow something that knowing everything I would not follow. "Perhaps because of that I will forever be lost, sometimes land will be further away and sometimes closer. But I can live with that I believe, because I will be questing information the whole time so I will always be doing my best to be informed." He knew it was impossible to know everything, no one could or did, but to keep trying to keep striving to learn more was acceptable. Because he wasn't just going with a side and sticking with it for no other reason than the initial information given. It seemed...like giving up and just going with something partially blind.

Laughing he shook his head slowly. "I don't know if you all can, it's the reason I asked you. However I assume you simply don't wish to divulge such information to the enemy. However you must then understand when I decline to return the information, though I can honestly say I do not know for sure. I have not asked one of our General Queens and I have not asked our General King. The youma...that I can tell you that anyone can become, as far as I personally know, if the right things are done...it is not so easy to become a youma. But know that they once were indeed human. It is why I wish to protect them from senshi who seek to hurt and ultimately kill them." The sincerity in his voice was strong, he was devoted to helping to protect the youma. It was that sort of strength which would not waver and fail.

"But, on to pleasant matters of discussion. You said you can go between forms. Would it be bold or rude if I wanted to see what an eternal senshi looks like? I have to date only seen one other. While I may not appreciate the lack of clothing it seems the fates have given you senshi, and it must be a curse in winter, I admit to being curious."

It was an intelligent approach the captain had, that was hard to deny. To question and to learn was indeed important. Living in a world with your eyes closed and ears plugged made you a fool and in this war quite possibly useless. And so she nodded thoughtfully as he spoke, as if to politely show that she was considering her opinion as opposed to completely ignoring it. But in the end she still differed on the answer.

"Do not get me wrong. I definately believe that information is an important key. The more we know about the past, and ourselves, and this war the better off we all are. Perhaps it will even be information that settles everything in the end." Not likely.. but one could be hopeful.

"However. I still think there are things that can be accepted without needing constant questioning and validation. Justice. Good and evil. Keeping the innocent citizens safe and protected from a war they should have no part of."

Her hand had crept from her fur up to her hair, fiddling now with a few strands of hair. "If you don't feel that strongly about your side and what you are fighting for then perhaps it's because you've realized that something isn't quite right? Perhaps it's time you changed sides?" However he took the words themselves her tone remained uncondescending, in fact.. it almost seemed kind.. inviting. But she knew better then to think such words would be met without potentional retaliation.

The bit of information about youma perked her interest, and if he looked hard enough he could probably read it from her eyes. She had heard strange mixes of things in the past but his statement was so quick and to the point.. Had she heard him correctly that negaverse soliders could become youma? Youma were.. humans once? Who? How..? Why were they so incredibly ruthless?

His question of forms hit her and for a moment she had no interest in obliging him. It could be an ambush... It gave him the knowledge of what she looked like in her weaker form. And... he'd almost certainly have something to say or think about her 'lack of clothing'. But if she could use it as a bargaining point....

"I can show you my eternal form if you'd like. But I'd like to know more about the youma in return. If it's true that they are humans and not simply monsters..." She trailed a moment, before letting her arms fall to her side, leaving the final decision to him. "I think there might be some senshi who would find that information eyeopening."

"Yes, I agree. There are some things which I believe are sure things. The civilians should not come to harm. Justice I believe for the most part is clear but perhaps the edges are fuzzy, look at the currant justice system employed." And how cases were not always so clear. Justice wasn't as perfect and blind as it should be, it was harsher than it should be at times. No, it was a human idea and thus it was as flawed as any person could be. "Good and evil..." Speaking he took a breath as if pondering and thinking over his words, and he was. How best to word things...

"Good and evil I think tie into the morals of each person. Obviously a rapist thinks rape is good but other people don't. While you and I don't think it's good, as surely neither of us do, it is not everyone's opinion. But I think we can form a general opinion on what is good and evil, so I'll give you that, but say that what applies for us may not be the same, nor will our opinions always be the same as someone elses. I wish on certain things everyone was on the same page, but people are people." A shrug followed his words as he spoke, it was simply how people were, so many opinions and options and ways to think, feel, believe. It made people unique, or played a part in it, but there were some opinions he wished everyone felt the same on. If only the world could be so lucky.

"I don't think changing sides would clear up things and find me land. So the offer, if it is such, I must decline, politely of course. I do hope you understand, I am loyal to my side even if I seek to know everything. I have thus far found nothing to shake me from my decision, and it was my choice. I was not forced or persuaded to join the war or to join the side which I did." He wanted to make sure she knew he had a choice, and had decided on his own free will. As he was sure there were some senshi out there who thought people were forced to join the Negaverse, such had not been his case.

Blinking at her request, he wasn't expecting her to seek a deal, he nodded his head. "I would have no problem in that, just realize what information I have is of course incomplete. I wish to spread the word, personally, in order to save them. They were once humans, those who fought without weapon or power, against the senshi and the Moon's Queen when she tried to rule Earth. She was the one who did this to them, made them as they are now." The raw emotions, his feelings for the youma and what had befallen them, was not hidden, nor was the anger for the Moon's Queen who perpetrated such actions. It was something he had strong feelings on. He dare not hide it, he was not ashamed and never would be. Why should he be?

"These people, as they were then, did not believe the Moon's Queen should rule the Earth - it was not her home planet. That makes sense, I'm sure. I doubt you would want someone to come to the planet you live on and declare themselves ruler, or try to gain themselves power and leadership. Especially if you were to wind up a second class citizen, someone lesser than you had previously been. This was what the Queen wished, the rule and make the people here second class. It was the people of Earth, with no power, who rose and challenged her. Battles, between these people, and Senshi who had come from space, took place. Here I do not know many things, I do not know how or why the senshi became involved. I do not know many things. I do know that the people, in a final attack, broke through the gates of Earth's palace and made it to the thrown room where they expected to see Earth's rightful ruler, though he was a puppet of sorts. It was the Moon's Queen they found, unwilling to lose to the people, she unleashed her power upon them. It was that, the sheer power, which...I guess you could say shattered the peoples star seeds. When that happens, and overload of power, they shatter and the person becomes a youma. I've seen the youma, down where we gather, at a bar down there laughing, talking, drinking, and playing music. Perhaps remnants of their human selves." So they still had a little humanness in them, right? At least he thought they did. "This is the story as I know it. And as others are told it." He didn't speak of that wall, heading down to the rift, with the screaming people behind it; reaching out. It creeped him out and made him teary eyed each time he went down. This was why he was loyal to the youma, and to the Negaverse. The other side had done this, even if it had been so long ago.

Motioning to her, a small gesture to follow such a saddening story. "That is all I know. And why it is they fight with and for us. They continue the war they fought so long ago, even though they are without body and no longer human. Perhaps they are conscious of fighting the war again and feel a need to continue, to not give up. Perhaps they simply do it because of some other reason. That I do not know. Now that I've told you I only ask you not tell anyone that I was the one to tell you this." He didn't know if it was good of him to divulge such information, and he didn't wish to find himself in trouble. However, he also hoped that maybe it would save some youma.

"I believe it's your turn now." A small, soft, smile settled upon his features.

"You don't think they should be harmed.. but you work with people who steal from them? Their energy and livelyhood at the very least, their very lives and souls if they are unlucky." She offered back mildly at his words, matter of factly. "You protect monsters that rip through the city and mindlessly tear apart average citizens?" Surely he could see that his actions.. perhaps did not met his supposed ideals?

Perhaps that wasn't fair though.. She agreed with many of the words he spoke.. and for a long moment she actually felt very bad for him. He did not seem nearly as dark as some she'd met. He seemed so close to the edge, like if someone just reached out and gave a little tug he might find himself crossing the line. But as she had not politely waited for him to finish as he did her, she was soon disappointed by his words.

Polaris was under the impression that most were forced into the negaverse. It was the sort of idea that feed the hopeful idea that the the members could be saved from the darkness and chaos if they tried hard enough. So to hear he had chosen himself... there was the softest of down turning in her lips before they resettled themselves once more passively. Misguided.. brain washed. It still left room for hope. Perhaps there was still hope for the Captain Benitoite.

She remained quiet for the rest of his words, taking them in thoughtfully even as she tried to mesh them together what her own thoughts and understandings. The past was a fuzzy mistress, with so many pieces missing and uncertain. But even without knowing.. Polaris could not find herself to believe the words and story offered to her.

It couldn't be totally true! She knew that there was indeed some reason the moon queen had come to earth.. to fight chaos she'd assumed.. but even without knowing.. it was impossible to accept that she would come with such devious intentions. That she would react in such a way and cause so much pain. Not the woman she'd seen time and again in hazy images. The elegant and beautiful woman who always spoke with such softness and sweet grace. She spoke of peace and friendship. Of love and togetherness. Never once had Polaris heard her voice raise or her demand vengence or unabashed violence. How could that be the same woman...? The story was wrong.. it had to be wrong.

And yet the talk of youma didn't seem so ridiculous.. And the passion and emotion in his voice was hard to deny or simply brush off. Humans whose starseeds had shattered from power overload? If his story about the past was true it made it sound like youma were in a finite amount.. which was actually a good thing considering how very numerous they always seemed. Why she had always assumed they were made and created by the negaverse at will she wasn't certain.. but when confronted with the unknown the mind often connected pieces and made up their own conclusions.

It was actually a very sad to think about the youma being human at once.. and there was a soft tightening in her chest the more she thought about it. While some senshi balked at attacking or genuinely hurting human opponents youma were slaughtered so carelessly and without thought. The implications that youma too were human... but unlike the negaverse they were humans too far gone.

What an absolutely terrifying thought. Polaris had once believed that the worst thing that could happen was to be corrupted. A fate worse then death in her opinion. But to become a youma...? It was a thought she quickly shook away... something she'd likely have nightmares about in the future, but it was too heavy a topic to contemplate now.. Not without distracting herself too much.

"I've never heard anything like that..." A heavy and thoughtful sigh escaped her when finally he finished, putting a pin in the story and her thoughts before she offered a nod in response to his smile. And gentle reassurance. "I won't tell where I got the information in particular." She had made the same promise once to Maia over information about the Black Moon Court, and just as then she didn't plan on breaking it.

"I was unlucky enough to get one of those skimpy fukus.." She warned softly, it was almost like she was asking with her eyes that he not laugh or give her a look too distasteful.

Not lingering long on the thought, there was a flash of light and glitter before the girl that was there before became one that looked quite a bit different. The silky braids had seemed to explode into a mess of wild hair and braids, the large white wings gone and replaced with a simple set of small eternal bows. The elegant and modest dress faded away to a two piece and sheer fuku. The only actual addition of clothing seemed to be the sudden appearance of gloves and long boots enclosing her arms and legs.

It was strange to transform in front of someone just... to show off. So when she'd finished she wasn't sure if she should pose or something, and in the end she simply stood, hands reaching forward to nonchalantly try and cover a bit of her exposed stomach.

"Tada" She replied sheepishly after a moment.

He had watched her carefully as he spoke, taking in her reactions. Perhaps she would be less harsh with the youma? He could hope. It was his hope to lessen the amount of them killed, he knew he alone with his words couldn't save them all. There was simply no way, and he didn't deal in the impossible. He didn't like to hope too high, only forit to be shattered and the pieces in need of a picking up. But he hoped, with a reasonable certainty that some could be changed, to lessen the amount. Perhaps this one would be one of them?

At her words about her uniform he nodded, he understood. Watching he noted the differences, once the shower of sparkles were gone.

"It's a big change." Another glance over by critical slate eyes. "You were right, I feel bad for you in the winter." How could he not? She must freeze in the winter in such clothing. The fates either had a humorous mind or were just evil, if they existed of course. This wasn't said of course. why should it be?

"The boots at least do something to keep you warm and are nice. I'm not all too certain what I think of the outfit, that is to say what theme or thoughts it brings to mind. I will say the colors work well together, not something I'd have normally thought, but perhaps the sheerness allows for that." thoughtful as he spoke he finally nodded. "I think that's it, and while it does show a lot of skin it does somehow make up for it with the boots and gloves I think." Though it still...and she must get old.

"To skip back to your first words I should be polite and address them. Energy I don't see as stealing, more like borrowing. People do regain their energy after we gather some from them. It doesn't kill them, and from what I've been told. The starseed taking has been phased out, it's not done by the majority of us." He didn't mention, not even a hint, to what he'd done. He couldn't. It was still too tender a topic, though that senshi of spiders had heard it from him. That had been a slip of the tongue where his mind had no part in his words. "I don't see how we steal their livelyhood. The youma are a different case. They need the energy to survive, to continue on as they are....perhaps in this area they are less human than in other areas, taking what they need to survive." He didn't know, it was how the youma were. A shrug followed his words here.

Moving closer to her, making sure to seem as docile as possible, he moved around inspecting her outfit closer. "I'll also say I rather like the bow, it's very nice." A shift from good to less then a good topic to talk on to something nicer. Keep it from going down hill and turning into some battle of words. He wouldn't win if he said something wrong and she lashed out, and he didn't want to find out what the wrong button was.

((So sorry @_@ I thought I'd replied to this but apparently I messed up and it just got buried!!))

He was being strangely kind and polite with his words. She had braced herself for those critical glances as she changed but his comments on her costume were gentle. She nodded both in agreement and soft thanks as he gave his opinion. "I am particularly fond of the boots and wings myself." One for it's usefulness and the other out of mere pride. Eternal wings were as far from being useful as possible.

If Polaris didn't feel so strongly about her opinion she might have felt bad about continuing to prod at the captain's words and logic. He was trying so hard to be nonconfrontational, to be polite and accommodating. But he was nonetheless wrong.. and she would not buckle in her opinion just because she didn't feel the urge not to harm this particular enemy.

"When you borrow things it is polite to give them back, something I'm fairly certain does not happen, yes? Whether you think it hurts them or not that energy belongs to them and is not yours to take. Have you ever stopped to think about how people are effected? How do you feel when you're tired and you're energy is zapped through natural means? You feel bad.. you have to exert extra effort to recouperate.. Extra sleep, special foods or what not."

"When you're weary your immune system is weakened, you're more likely to get sick. More likely to fall asleep behind the wheel of a car, more prone to accidents and passing out. Can you tell me with 100% certainty that the energy draining has no adverse effects down the line? That it isn't slowly zapping away seconds and minutes from someone's lifespan?"

"I mean it really does come down to the sheer explaination. How many times have I heard stealing described as 'borrowing without the intent to return'?"

Her fingers lifted softly, one with each situation that she proposed towards her 'livelihood' arguement. "Collateral damage in the form of homes, businesses, and cars directly affect the livelihood of civilians. I will heartily admit that senshi are also incredibly guilt of this one, but youma do terrible damage.. Damage that people have to spend their savings on fixing or work harder to afford or physically complete themselves is taking away from their quality of life."

"People die and those lucky enough not to often become injuried and spend time in the hospital, racking up bills and time off of work. Parents worry over their children constantly, which is completely reasonable considering how many times I've seen children targeted in your energy thefts." The elementary school and the camping fiasco were things that would never fade on Polaris' mind.

"Stress nags even the most sane. People put their entire savings into trying to move away from a city they once loved just to avoid having to deal with monsters day to day."

Five fingers were held up, a whole hand before slowly they curled in, her arms crossing in front of her chest. She made not move to attack him, no sign of aggression, just a soft tightening of her lips and look of dissappointment. He couldn't possibly be so blind as to not see it all right?

"Your group treats people as if they are livestock. Harvesting them for energy.. assuming as long as they're still standing when you leave them that nothing is wrong with it. People are not sheep or cattle and you have no right to the energy that is rightfully yours."

"The negaverse is worse than farmers really. Farmers at least take care of their animals. Feeds and houses them. Protects them from the wolves. You turn a blind eye and make excuses for the wolves."

The frown was still there, but her eyes had softened, searching his face for something. Remorse perhaps..? A will to change?
