Her original attempts to reveal her new secret to Niflhel had not gone as well as she might have hoped. What she had thought would be special and amazing had instead become a logical argument. It was why the very next night she'd went out against his wishes just to spite him. But even though her encounter with Benitoite had been fairly uneventful... she had come to realize how right he was, and had remained simply in her eternal fuku for the rest of the week awaiting their 'date' for a weekend of training.
It didn't however mean she hadn't thought about it. Benitoite had brought up a good point about how her dress might hinder her in battle, and the new heels had already shown themselves to be a little annoying. She couldn't wait to practice and 'stretch her wings' so to say. To do it someplace where noone other than Niflhel could see her if she made an absolute fool of herself.
When he'd arrived to her apartment she had everything prepared and ready. Her cloak was dangling from a chair alongside a basket brimming with food, set atop a thick and folded blanket. Food had been her duty, hopefully he'd remember all the things he wanted.
She waited long enough to check and make sure that they had everything they needed for what could end up being her first extended stay on her star, pulling forth her phone only when she finally got the okay. A moment's thought and search and the senshi and knight were swept off to the cold world of the star Polaris.

Azzo had arrived with blankets and a few other meaningful things. Including a lighter an a little bit of starter fluid and a small bag of dry wood chips. In case they couldn't actually start a decent fire with the wood they had until it'd dried. He also had an extra coat, everything but the coat had fit nicely into a larger sized bag.
He'd hoped it wasn't too much but with two quilts, and a few microfiber blankets they should be able to keep warm he thought. Not to mention the fireplace could have a nice fire as well. It didn't take long for them to make sure they had everything. He nodded finally and when they were on Polaris he gave a small shiver. "Man... I forgot how cold it was here."
He muttered with a chuckle, keeping warm was going to be interesting. "Soo... do those wings actually work? Or are they like the other ones and completely useless?" He seemed more at ease here at least.

The snow swirled around them slow but without sign of stop, an occassional breeze ripping through and rustling their clothing and hair. "It definately is." She mused softly, making certain that all of their things had made it through the trip with them. She had her basket still and he had his bag, so all was well.
With the mention of the wings Polaris didn't hesitate any longer, shifting from one form to the other with seeming ease. So far it was the simplest of things, not to mention a little exhilirating.. the soft thrill of power filling your body. It was hard to guess which one was greater, her new power level or the personal pride that the change instilled within her. And extra fabric was never a bad thing, even if the snow did n** at her ankles now. She'd just have to be careful.
Even as she worked to fold the cloak over her bare arms the wings stretched tenatively outwards, moving like extra appendages. She could definately move them herself, but were they strong enough to actually lift her? A sheepish look was offered. "Well.. if I'm going to try let's start with someplace not too high, alright?"
"How about we get our things settled in first, I'd hate to have to try and set up 'camp' after I'm already exhausted."

Niflhel nodded as he headed towards the small place. "So where are we setting up camp? What about that place we found the letter, didn't it have a bed?"
He was pretty sure there was a fireplace there unless he'd been imaging things. It'd be a really good place for camp and they might not have to sleep on the hard floor if that was the case, provided the bed was actually soft.
He watched the wings, "I think... they might be a bit small for you to actually fly with them? I could be wrong but...." He seemed to shrug at the idea however he wasn't really sure but he had a feeling that might not actually work. "Won't hurt to see if they actually can do something like hover...."
He paused, "Also hm... so finding out if the wings work and what sort of power if any you have in that form is the most important after setting up camp." He gave a nod and offered her his arm so they could keep together.

The place where they'd found her letter? She nodded after a moment to the suggestion. It had seemed like a sturdy room, not too destroyed to offer a safe and proper base of operations. But more than that... she felt a soft sort of connection to it.. Was it silly to feel that way about a room? It was true she'd found her letter there and later had a vision related to it while sitting within the room... She tried to think back to the vision of the elder past Polaris. Books.. the soft hum of electric lighting.. the crackle of fire. Yes the later had definately been there.
"We may need to rig up a blanket or push something in front of the doorway out to the balcony to keep the wind out. But I think it's a good choice."
She listened to his thoughts as they trudged across the snow and towards the large metallic city nestled in small peaks arm and arm. He had a good point about size... birds wings were huge for as tiny a weight as they had. Her wings were beautiful, but were they big enough to lift 100+ lbs of weight? Probably not.
There was a soft laugh as he set forth the plans for the day, offering a mild look as he added that 'if' into his statement. "Ye of little faith" She didn't mind though, it simply spurred on the desire to actually figure things out herself, and to show him that it was no if. Maybe they'd even get a chance to spar to test out her actual strength and speed.
From time to time as they walked she found herself looking around distracted.. almost quizically as she tried to adjust to a strange and overwhelming feeling. It was hard to place... to think that something like a star could be.. welcoming her home? As if it were some sentinent being. But that was the feeling nonetheless as things seemed to call to her from left and right. The nearer they got to the city the stronger the feeling got, until she finally realized just what it was.
Metal.
Everytime she turned her head, that was what her eyes settled on.. and it wasn't surprising either, a soft sense of deja vu. It was almost like the air conditioner the other night.. only the sense had been kicked into high gear by being here. Pausing along the edge of the buildings, she closed her eyes for a moment. It didn't matter though... she could still see them.. or perhaps it was more like just feeling them. Knowing them. Her mind cued in on a fountain nearby.. small enough that she'd probably be able to lift it if she tried. On a building above them a large piece of metal dangled precariously from a ledge, barely held in place as time ate away at it. But even as she tried to differentiate before things more metal seemed to scream to her from every angle, overwhelming and overflowing, almost making her head ache.
Opening her eyes finally, she tugged his arm lightly letting them resume their trek towards the familiar building of choice. Knowing he would likely ask about the strangeness anyway, she gave him a sheepish look, her confusion with the whole thing evident. "It's very strange... it's like... I can feel things around me.. I know the things are there before I even see them. Does... does that happen to you on Saturn?" It had never happened to her before now on Polaris.

Niflhel nodded, "Well that's why I brought at least five blankets. We could always use one of the quilts to keep the wind out. They're the heaviest after all. If we use the bed we'll probably only need one quilt over the mattress anyways."
"Otherwise I can see what's moveable within reason and shove it in the way."
It was still hard getting use to the eerily quite streets and the crunching of snow with each step they took. Not to mention the sheer power she gave off as they traveled. At least it was safe here.
"Ye of little faith keeps one from getting hurt." He answered back to the retort. With a semi-serious look, there were reasons to doubt what one could do. Often good ones, "We don't really have a hospital here." He pointed out despite having brought a first aid kit, just in case.
He stopped when she did looking at her oddly, almost assuming there might've some sort of... vision but soon enough she started moving again and asked a... strange question.
He paused thinking, "Not really.... I mean occasionally I end up following shadows. Though there was one picture... the face was gone but I think she was suppose to be the princess for the planet...." He trialed off and then shrugged, "I've never really felt it around me though."
He was thinking, "What is it like the feeling of eyes on you? Sorta like when you know someone's watching you or different?"

"No it's.. it's not like someone. More something..."
She didn't really know how to explain it, so she closed her eyes again, trying to focus on the feelings before she began to speak, pointing this way and that, her eyes still remaining firmly shut. "Over there is a building.. at least three stories tall. And there... a.. I think it's a bench" It was hard to tell because she could only see parts of it.. probably because it was crafted half out of stone with metallic decor.
She shifted again, her hand sweeping in front of her. "Some.. debris is on the ground up ahead.. three or four pieces.. I can only guess it's fallen off one of the other buildings."
Her eyes opened again, her quizical expression returning once more, before it faded with a soft shiver. "Oh well.. let's go set things up and warm up a bit."
They had finally reached the sizeable home, weaving through the dark lower rooms when his words finally hit her, and she mused softly. "You have a princess..?"
Perhaps that explained his lack of being impressed with her. She couldn't help but feel just a little dissapointed. Was it too much to want to be his princess and he her knight? Well.. actually it probably was.. it was a horribly silly and antiquated notion. How could such a grown up young woman continue to have there little girl dreams?

He nodded listening and eyes following where she pointed. "That's .... interesting." He seemed to think. "Sort of like Metis' vision then..." Only the difference was Metis was completely blind normally.
He nodded, "Yeah warming up is a good idea."
There was a pause when she asked the question, "Well she looked like a princess from what I could tell of the painting... but..." He paused looking a bit unsure how to explain it. "I don't think she really exists... Like I haven't seen anyone or thing like it. I can show you the picture but like I said it was like her face was kept dark in the painting where you couldn't see anything but her dress and the chair she was sitting in."
He wasn't sure, he sighed. "It's all very confusing... but I met a knight of Chronos.... I think, you know princess Chronos... well it would make sense that all Royals have knights of their own..." He paused, "After all these used to be kingdoms... I don't think only the senshi would protect the walls. Not that they couldn't but having those more capable of hand to hand combat considering some of the things we've seen, would make sense they have a court of knights."
He'd obviously been putting some thought to this since he met Celsus. His eyes were lowered on the ground as he spoke. Perhaps he was feeling guilty?
He glanced around the room looking at the details. "You might even have a court of knights that are your own... Since you're a princess now." The though was something, not really of an after thought but one that seemed distance almost like he was detaching himself from that idea. However, he smiled shortly after and added, "Don't worry you can't run me off that easily. You'll need some help training them after all."

Metis. That was a familiar name, granted one from far in the past. She remembered her encounter with the blind senshi in her early days and for a moment wondered just how she was doing. Perhaps Niflhel had seen her more recently.
As they made there way through up the stairs and down the hallway she listened to his explaination, nodding sympathetically to the confusion. It all seemed logical enough. If Chronos had knights of her own.. and the moon had a princess.. Then perhaps more planets and stars had princesses. He was a knight of Saturn after all.. so perhaps there was some princess of Saturn he had one day followed. "It makes sense" She nodded in agreement as they stepped into the room they'd been speaking of, and she paused at the threshold.
It should have dawned on her before.. if she'd been paying enough attention and putting together pieces.. but now it was information that was unavoidable.. a heavy feeling of nostalgia flooding her. This wasn't just any room.. or rather bedroom. At one time this had been her bedroom. For a moment she could see a splash of color, elegant and expensive looking blankets covering what had a moment ago looked like a worn and old bed. Pillows lined with delicate fringes were immaculately placed, a few books settled next to some flickering candles on the stand beside the bed.
It was his words that drew her out of the short vision, shaking her head a little both at the thought and to rid herself of the strange vision. "My own knights...?"
The thought was strange and unbelievable... but in the end not unpleasant. She would not hold her breath for it.. for someone to actually pledge themselves to her.. or maybe perhaps just to her star? But if they did well.. Polaris was a proud person.. one could only imagine much that would tickle her fancy.
"I'm plenty happy with the one knight I have though." She mused quickly, moving forward to set down her basket before she returned to his side, a hand reaching out to touch his arm tenderly.

Actually he wondered how Metis was himself, he needed to see if he could maybe catch up with her one day. He was thinking idly as they walked.
Niflhel looked around at the room, as he observed listening to her. He chuckled, "Yeah but you got duties as a princess you're going to have to attend to." He said looking at her as she placed her hand on his arm. He paused, "If it does or doesn't happen you should at least not be surprised if the pop up. You'll have to be ready to train them. I think the games you ran was a good step towards that."
He gave a soft nod and smiled, "I'll help where I can. You know I will. It's not like I have anyone tying me to my own planet." He moved, "Lets get this door blocked off. We'll have to try to fix it for later trips." He glanced at it, not really sure he knew how to fix it without just replacing hings and possibly a new door but that might be hell to find. "I mean if you're interested in fixing it so we don't have to keep shoving furniture in it." He looked back at her.

She seemed to beam a little at the compliment about her games. They were a source of pride in her, especially with how well the two so far had flourished. She didn't really know that she'd have duties... did Castor really have any more duties than the regular senshi, but if the situation did arrive she had faith that she would be able to handle them. Especially with him at her side to help.
"We can steal a door from one of the other nearby buildings some other time. Maybe I can working on sprucing up some of the less damaged buildings with parts from the more tattered ones."
"But for today covering it should be good. Do you need help?" Polaris was already digging through the bag he had brought along, pulling out some of the blankets and setting them onto the bed.

He nodded, "That sounds like a good idea, keeps from having to haul too much back and forth." He gave, "Nawh I got this." He said as he picked the closest piece of furniture that looked like it'd cover well and started shoving it towards the door.
"Have to see what kind of hinges they have, if it's something that might not hold up we might want to at least replace those." He offered and then added, "I know keeping things original as possible would be nice."

"Admiring the hinge work hasn't really ever been on the schedule." She teased softly to his question. Maybe boys paid more attention to that kind of thing? But in her trips to Polaris she'd never really had the time or inclination to simply stop and stare at the smaller details of the buildings construction.
"Next time I visit though I'll make sure to look, and try and figure out what tools we should try to bring along." She added a little more seriously.
Blanket stretched out over the cold and dusty blankets, she placed another folded one at the foot of the bed, waiting for when they returned. The food was settled alongside the bed with the remaining blankets piled on top of and around the food, in hopes of keeping it from freezing while they were away.
Glancing around her, Polaris nodded having completed her simple tasks before moving over to see how Niflhel had been progressing. Pulling her cloak lightly around her she waited patiently, already feeling the change that was overcoming the room now that most of the wind was being blocked out of it.
"Ready whenever you are."

"Nor had it been on mine, but that doesn't mean you can't tell if they're rusted shut or unusable." He said thoughtfully as he made sure that most of the furniture piece was covering and nodded, the room was feeling better at least, not quite as chilled.
"I think a good fire in the fireplace will warm most of this back up." He said sounded a little relieved at the thought. "Hopefully we can find usable firewood, since it's so cold and iced over."
He nodded when she said she was ready, "I think that's all I can do for now to make this a little more cozy." He looked around, "Maybe we can check for other things like nice rugs for the floors and tapestries for the walls." He nodded, "There's bound to be some that'll help warm the place up as well.

She made no further comment on the hinges, simply smiling a little as he spoke of them again. It was probably something about the difference in boys and girls. Or maybe she'd always just been too distracted by images and sensory overload?
"I'm sure a fire will make it nice and comfy after a day of practicing out in the cold." Polaris agreed, waiting for him to finish what he was doing.
When he was done she nodded a little to his suggestion. If they weren't totally exhausted after training it might be something nice to do. Or if they got bored at anytime during their extended trip. But for now she was awfully excited to spread her wings, and they rustled a little subconciously.
