Pollux had one skill that really was so far flung from his senshi sphere he was pretty sure it had nothing to do with being a senshi, but everything to do with years of having to cook for himself and his brother. Plus his general love of cooking. Still, fifty plus people, and Pollux had not just limited supplies, but limited everything. While food was being brought over, (later he would thank a few of those who had thought ahead to bring whole foods that didn't require things like microwaves or were easily perishable), Pollux figured he'd start a menu up. Given that so far he had no idea of people's allergies, he'd stick to basics.

Warm bread, a tossed salad, and chicken noodle soup. Simple, and if anyone needed something more dietary then that, he'd bully his brother to play fetch. Pollux was willing to take some consideration but really, fifty some odd people? He wasn't going to cater to every individual's needs. So far from the looks of it, he was pretty alone in the kitchens, but it didn't matter. Can opener ready, Pollux was a man on a culinary mission.

First though....starting the stoves.

Upon arriving to the surrounding Polaris had quickly tried to find someway to make herself helpful. She'd checked in on the infirmary, and found things pretty well under control. Her skills were mere patch up work and they already had plenty of people capable of that. By talking to people she'd heard of the Leo outpost and had made her way that way.

The senshi of magnetism was pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face, someone she'd actually cooked with at that, when she made her way into the large and ancient kitchen. "Pollux!"

"Could you use an extra set of hands?" She called out pleasantly, carefully peeling off her long white gloves so she could wash her hands before she set to any food preparation.

Grus had gotten bored with repairing beds, as nice as Maia and Joshua were. There was only so much broken stuff that could be moved before the two Senshi would need further help. There were at least a few beds that were usable for the civilians who were stranded.

She was left picking out the few splinters from her gloveless fingers, walking down the stairs. So maybe construction wasn't her expertise...But she was sure there was something she could do to help the poor people stuck far from home.

Then she heard shuffling about the kitchen. She paused, curious, and poked her head around the corner, seeing but a lone man moving in between counters. He looked to be a Senshi, complete with fuku, and she sighed with relief. There was no reason one person, especially one of the civilians who were all mostly hurt anyway, should be trying to cook for all of them!

She came around the corner saying "Hello! Do you need some help?"

It was then she noticed he in fact, wasn't alone.

"Polaris!" She said loudly and gladly, taking a couple steps into the kitchen. "Your here too!"

Picking at the stoves experimentally -a gentle push on the symbol of Leo and fire rose at a steady rate- Pollux sighed in relief at the sight of Polaris. "You have no idea how helpful that would be. All I had planned was warming some loaves of bread, getting a simple green salad and heating up chicken noodle soup. Fifty plus and I have no idea if we have anyone with outstanding medical issues or dietary needs. Figured to start with simple and basic would be best. After we can always ready something else." Another prod at the symbol and flames rose higher, flickering just slightly.

"Any ideas otherwise would be of great help Polaris, I-" The second senshi who seemed to recognize Polaris gave the senshi of frost pause. She had offered to help however, and he sure as all hell wasn't going to turn down anyone. "I take ityou know each other?" A small bend as his waist and a tiny smile. "Pollux, frost. Are you any skilled at cooking?"

Make that doubly pleasantly surprised!

"Grus" She greeted the other senshi with a warm smile. "Yeah. I figure I was better suited to helping cook for an army then help bandage up one." There was a small laugh and she seemed prepared to introduce the two when Pollux stepped up to the task for her.

Returning to the question asked before, she nodded thoughtfully in agreement to his idea. "That sounds like a good strategy. Those are simple and classic flavors I doubt we'll find anyone that absolutely can't stand any of it. And we can work on requests if we get any. Maybe even ask for suggestions for later meals while we're serving todays meal."

"Well I don't know if I can cook really well Pollux. But I can sure follow direction!" She offered the two a warm smile then moved to remove her armlets, washing her hands in the water before staring at the ingredients.

"Chicken soup sounds wonderful! And it's simpler to make." Then, realizing she had forgotten to introduce herself, turned and face Pollux again. "I'm sorry." She started, looking apologetic "I forgot to tell you who I am! My name is Grus. Nice to meet you!"

She faced Polaris "Yeah I'm not much for construction, so I came here instead!"

Pollux gave a light smile to the two. With three sets of hands, they wouldn't need to run around as much while getting things ready. "Leo supposedly is around but I've not seen him yet, the stove is easy enough to work." A quick tap on the zodiac crest and the flame died. Grus got a nod as Pollux moved to one of sinks.
"Grus is it? What would you like to help with? Anything in particular?" She seemed willing to work on what she might not know, but with such a simple dish, messing it up would be difficult, if nigh impossible. "Polaris and I have worked on cooking together before, and in my own experience, I am rather proficient in whatever needs to be done. For now, we best just wash the pots and dishes before we use them."

Picking up a bowl he hoped Leo had enough silverware for everyone. Or rather...things he wouldn't mind people using. Really? Glass and gold cups? Now that was just asking to be broken."Polaris, you don't think you could use your powers to pull metal from the...other...ornate dish ware do you?"

((I'm not.. 100% sure what he's asking sooo, interpret as you please XD heart ))

Grus helpfulness and enthusiasm brought another pleased smile to Polaris' face. With three of them the task had gotten a lot more manageable. Not to mention the pleasantness of having people she actually knew to chat with while they worked.

Polaris had been eager to start cooking, so when he suggested they wash dishes she was a little confused.. until of course she noted the thick layer of dust and grim from years of neglect. Ughh... one extra step. She was glad her gloves were already off, lest they be grey by the time they were finished.

Pollux wanted her to.. pull the dishes out? Well she supposed digging through dishes was going to be time consuming.. they might save some time if she could gather it towards her. But the prospect of breaking said dishes... "I... I'm not certain if I can do it, but I'll try my best. Though.. depending on what they're made with it might not work very well. Gold and silver have such low mangetic properties" Maybe that was a good thing though.. to not have things fling at their heads and shattering at the wall.

She crouched down, trying to stay as low to the ground as she could, since she was making herself the target of the 'attack'. "Please be careful and watch out for knives." She had fought in a kitchen before. It was super effective.

Her usual attack was far too strong, it flung things with a vengence. But maybe now as an eternal sailor she could control it more. She was trying very hard to reel back the power and only give it part of the energy she usually gave. "Magnetic field"

Oh please let this work and not let it smash up dishes all over the place. One dish slowly slid across the floor from the clatter piles. Good first sign!

Grus was so excited about helping that she hadn't realized that while the counters were clean and sparkly, the dished were still covered in dust. She began picking up different dishes and, looking around, found a large sink to put them in. There was another sign, just like on the stove. The sign of Leo. She pressed it, and a low grinding sound could be heard.

She shut it off quickly, heart jumping a little. Then she pressed it again, and the grinding sound continued, but after a minute or two, water came flowing out. It was a slow trickle at first, but then it came out quickly.

She heard something clatter across the counter and turned to face Polaris, who was apparently using her power. Things were starting to move towards her, and she remembered that she was the senshi of Magnetism. She must be gathering dishes.

The falling water behind her reminded her to watch the sink or else have to clean up a flood. "Do we have nay soap?" She asked.

Magellan was about to start making her rounds getting to know people and seeing if she could be of any real help, but before she did that, she needed to drop off the enormous cookbook she'd brought. It was tucked up under her arm, its pages old and falling out in some places, but it was a good book. She'd been cooking out of it for years, which explained the looseleaf pages -- personal recipes, or edits to existing ones, were about as common as the actual pages in the book itself. Magellan was not the most creative cook herself, so she imagined that unless they had an actual chef on base, people would quickly begin to run out of ideas on what to cook.

She'd met with Leo briefly, and that had been a little awkward but overall a pleasant experience. He'd directed her to his kitchens and she'd spent a little bit of time being awed by just how big and extravagant his castle was, but as she hadn't really had time for that, she reeled it in. Upon entering the kitchens, she was a little annoyed to recognize one of the senshi.

Ew, Polaris. It had been a long time ago, but she was still a little miffed about the girl's attitude. Well... ugh, she'd just have to ignore it in favor of doing the right thing.

Schooling her expression into one of careful neutrality, she knocked on the door frame, eyebrows raised. "Knock, knock. I brought a cookbook. Super Sailor Magellan," she added, glancing around the room with a small but (mostly) sincere smile. "Where do you want me to put this?"

So far, Naica had pretty much been the errand boy.

He was completely, utterly fine with this. He'd heard rumors of an huge space monster, and he had no want to get up close and personal with such a thing. At all.

So mostly Naica waited at Virgo's outpost, then went on with another zodiac to make sure the supplies were spread more or less evenly all over the castles. It was more physical work than he was used to, and tiring to boot, but someone had to do it.

Now it was the food, a lot of it. Loaves of bread, cans, milk, even some chocolate someone brought, all headed toward Leo's and his kitchen. Maybe if he took a five minutes breather, no one would notice ?

...Only, the kitchen wasn't empty anymore, and Naica froze in surprise, for a few seconds, before reaching out to wipe the sweat off his forehead with his free hand. He'd been lugging those three heavy bags since Virgo's !

"I-I brought some more food..."

Pomona burst into the kitchen, a large basket held in her arms.

" Fresh produce!" She huffed, gladly setting it on a table.

Relieved of her burden, the Senshi of Peppers took the chance to look around the kitchen. Pollux and Polaris were familiar faces, but she couldn't say as much about the other two. Heck, she couldn't even tell if that purple-haired boy was a Senshi or one of those knight-things!

" I'm Pomona and I can cook if you all could use another pair of hands."

Grus looked up from trying to wash away the worst of the dirt as two...no three more people waled in. Two Senshi and a Knight....maybe. His outfit was a little different. She waved a wet hand to each of them, saying "We could definitely use some help! There's a lot of people here..." She trailed off, thinking about the civilians, feeling a familiar set of confusion cover her.

She almost went back to rinsing dishes, when she stopped, looking back at the third person to enter, a girl senshi with a large basket of produce. Perfect for the salad, and much of the ingredients for the soup. She looked familiar...

Grus shook her hands off and walked toward Pomona, saying "Have we met before?"

Pollux nodded as Polaris tried to use her powers and oddly, it worked! Luckily, he didn't hear any dishes crashing or see knives flying, and soon enough- "Thank you Polaris, even if they've only shifted slightly, they should be easier for us to find now. Plus-" around her, scattered metal plates, from the looks of them, only gold plated. "We can always send my brother back to earth to be an errand boy. The smile on the senshi's face was a touch vicious. The senshi of frost seemingly entertained at the thought of making his brother be errand boy.

Grus was already busy washing the dishes, which was good, they wouldn't need to dry some of them, but others it would be best, water spots could be such a b***h and this place had enough damage as is, no need to add to it. The arrival of three others and Pollux could have cried tears of joy, (if he had enough emotions to make him cry that was). The first senshi with her cookbook had him pausing. A cookbook could definitely be helpful. Especially with other meals and if just so everyone could be on the same page while cooking.
Literally at least. "A pleasure Magellan. I'm Pollux, senshi of frost. Would you like to-" Cut off by the second arrival, and this one with much needed necessities, (later he'd gripe about chocolate, but, win some, lose some). The outfit had him confused however. He wasn't a senshi, this close and he could certainly tell that much but- One of the knights? If so, he'd have to enquirer Lina about it. While he may not speak or be on the best terms with her, she'd at least be able to explain to him the knights more...easily then others. "Pollux, senshi of frost, and you?"

More food brought, and Pollux was actually starting to think that everyone might not starve. "Pomona." Nodding he welcomed the offer. "The more help the better. Grus was just cleaning some of the dishes before we use them. All I had planned was warming some bread, and having a simple salad with chicken noodle soup." Grus was making herself known, and Pollux figured it was a good time as ever- "Does anyone want to start washing the vegetables?" Pulling a large clean pot from the dishes Grus had just cleaned, the senshi of frost figured it was can opener time for him.
Hey, fifty plus people and sure canned soup was not the best but they were on a time crunch.

Plus he was sure that they didn't have much by the way of pure chicken stock or meat.

" I... can't say I remember you. What are you the Senshi of? I'm the Senshi of Peppers."

As Pomona spoke to Grus her eyes were darting around the room.

" I'm not ignoring you, I promise, I'm just putting myself to work." She said to Grus before she grabbed a pot - looked like it had been found courtesy of Polaris - and began rooting around for knives. They needed to be cleaned along with the vegetables, so with a nod to Pollux she tugged off her lacy gloves and set to washing.

" I've got sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cucumber, collard greens, and okra. I've also got bayleaf, some bananas, and peppers of course."

She looked up at Grus and the others and grinned mischeviously. " I guess I'm not allowed to slip the civilians any hot peppers, am I?"

This... this was where Pomona felt comfortable. She was far more in her element in the kitchen then she was on the battlefield. She felt like she'd actually be useful here, which made her a very happy ginger indeed.
