Marley had watched as Layton went off to get her arm healed. Hopefully the teen would find her brother. She stayed just out of the temple, her attention caught by the surrounding area. It was so beautiful and if she could live here, she would. The pools and gardens around it was absolutely gorgeous. She could possibly spend her life just tending to the gardens here. But she quickly pushed that thought aside. She needed to concentrate on surviving so she could get back to her siblings.
Marley didn't need any healing and she wasn't exactly sure what to do. But then she vaguely remembered someone saying something about cleaning the pools outside of the temple. They really did need cleaning and she needed something to do. If she didn't start doing something soon, the possibility of her sitting in a corner worrying her head off was very likely to happen. She definitely envied whoever got to live here but they were doing a horrible job with the upkeep of the place.
Marley looked around but didn't see anything to clean the pools up with. Was she supposed to kneel by the pools and collect them by hand? And where was she supposed to put the leaves after she collected them? She looked around for someone. "Excuse me, does anyone have like a rake or net and possibly a trash bag?" Surely someone would know where to find something.

Though it was likely Sailor Polaris would be spending most of her time at the Leo Outpost, she was nonetheless a little bit of a busybody. After helping prepare one of the large scale meals she'd decided to take a walk, exploring the surrounding curiously along the way. Eventually she would visit each and every one of the habitated outposts and offer a hand however she could. But she had plenty of time for that.
In her walking she just so happened to pass the pools, and paused for a moment to watch the couple of people attempting to clean it. It wasn't something she'd ever done before but.. it couldn't be that hard right?
Hearing the girl's question, she glanced around for a moment for tools but in the end couldn't find any either.
Instead she offered a little advice, stepping near to Marley with a smile. "If we can't find the actual pool tools we might have to improvise for awhile. We can use cloth and walk through the water to help scoop any debris out. And of course rags to scrub the edges."

Marley looked up with a smile at the voice that answered her question and her jaw nearly hit the floor. Before her was what had to be another Sailor and she was gorgeous. She immediately wished that she looked that good or that she had clothes that looked that amazing. But she was beyond scheming at this point in time. Still, Marley was insanely jealous of the woman's good looks and those boots were to die for.
Marley tried to recover from her shock and awe, plastering a smile back on her face. "Yeah, we could do that. Thanks for the help. Before we came here, the sailor we were with was of little to no help." That tanned one, oh how he had been so useless. She looked down at her outfit, her sneakers and socks would have to come off but there was no way she was going in without her shorts. Cleaning pools in underwear was not an option. So she quickly tugged her shoes and socks off, leaving them on the side.
Just as Marley was about to step into one of the pools, she seemed to remember something. "Oops, almost forgot some cloth to scoop it up with." She looked up at Sailor Polaris with an unsure smile. "You wouldn't happen to know where we could find some? Oh, I'm Marley by the way. Totally forgot to introduce myself. Though I must admit, all this crazy stuff that's happening makes one forget a lot of things." There she went, babbling on, letting the whole world know how worried she was.

Polaris wasn't.. entirely unused to conversing with civilians when powered up. Sometimes she saved them, very occassionally she'd chat with them, but spending so much time with them was different. Mostly it would just take some getting used to. To remember to use only her powered name. That they might indeed stare or have a million and five questions for her. It was alright, she'd just have to be careful about the things she said.
This one, Marley, seemed pretty nice though.
"I think everyone is a little overwhelmed and uncertain right now. I would say that hopefully it'll get better in time, but I'd rather hope that we can get you guys back home soon." She mused softly, working to undo her own boots and remove her gloves.
"Hmm.. how about we use some towels? They're a little thick but, hopefully it should still work?" It appeared someone had already set a few towels or small blankets on one edge of the pools, for anyone who wanted to take a dip.. "Polaris. Lovely to meet you." She smiled genuinely, motioning towards the splash of color that was the towels not far away.

Marley went over to grab the towels that were laying there. They would work just fine. She slowly lowered herself into the pool, the chill of the water sending goose bumps up her body. She let out a little shriek, "Water's kinda cold." She looked back at Polaris, "Nice to meet you too Polaris. That's a cool name. Do all Sailor's have interesting names? Like Virgo, though Virgo would seem more common as a zodiac sign." Talking was good, talking would help push the worry to the back of her mind and so would collecting leaves.
Marley slowly began gathering the leaves with the towel. She didn't even dare comment on the situation as she'd rather not think about it. But she did mention to Polaris, "I'd rather just think of it as a vacation or something. I mean, this place is pretty awesome." She looked back up at the temple. It would definitely be something to remember.

Polaris followed after Marley, stepping into the water slowly, a soft shiver running up her spine. Oh geez.. that WAS kind of cold. "Eeek.. you're right, I hadn't thought about that." She laughed a little as she waded in past her knees. The water wasn't cold enough to retreat and give up, but enough to be noticeably a little chilly. Hopefully in time there bodies would adjust.
"The zodiacs senshi are indeed named after the zodiac signs. The rest of us are named after space objects. Mostly stars and asteroids. Some comets and moons. We're all connected to those stars actually."
"I'm named after the north star Polaris and I guess in the past people used to even live there." She chattered explainations lightly, finding it a good distraction from the cold and mundane task of scooping leaves for awhile before going to the edge and dumping them out.
"It sounds a little strange I guess, but considering what you've seen here..."
"There are knights too wandering around who come from the different planets of our solar system. They seem to be named after something else though.. ancient and mythical places I think?" She might have mentioned that the bad guys seemed to be named after things too, but she hardly wanted the girl to think that it was okay to talk to them.
After babbling on for a little while, she paused when Marley gave her little bit of optimism, nodding enthusiastically. "That's a really wonderful way to look at it. Very glass half full. And it's totally free too, hopefully you'll make some new friends." She laughed a little lightly. Really it DID help if you thought about it that way instead of fretting. She'd have to remember that in case she ran into anyone very upset down the line.
"It is a very lovely place with lots of interesting things to see."

"Of course people lived on your homeworld," said Virgo as she approached, sounding very puzzled. "Like people used to live on Virgo-that-was. They moved us to Mercury, though. Too much Chaos, and we were too spread out. Our senshi and soldiers couldn't fight it off." She might not remember how to read her peoples' ancient speech, but she had seen the images on the walls commemorating their exodus. It didn't take much intelligence to understand them and put it together with what she knew; the fact that Virgo-that-was had survived so long was tribute to the Zodiac Court's teamwork and combat ability.
She stepped into a pebbled pool and gathered some leaves into her skirt. Now that they had actual medical personell inside the Temple, they didn't need her presence. The chilly water even helped her focus, driving her headache away.
Luckily, she seemed to be ignoring the vacation comment. There was nothing that would lend Virgo to a vacation spot; it was an ancient fortress, not a party place. Leave that to Gemini Outpost and their Rumpus Room. "Thank you very much for helping me," she said, emptying out the load of leaves on the edge of the pool. "And I'm glad you think it's so lovely. You should have seen it in the 'springtime'." Air quotes, Virgo, really?

Another voice sounded, close and obviously directed at their conversation, and Polaris turned a little to spot the source, nodding softly in greeting to the other senshi.
The actual statement had caused her a moment's distress, mouth twitching as her words were twisted, potentially unintentionally. Of course she knew people lived there.. the eternal senshi had seen enough visions of the pastPolaris and others around her. It had just hardly seemed like a detail worth trying to get into. One more likely to open up to questions she didn't know the answer to. Like why weren't people there any more?
But she sounded puzzled so it was probably unintentional, and as such Polaris felt no need to say anything about it, simply offering a sheepish smile. "A long time ago, yes."
"Springtime?" There was a bit of a soft laugh, thinking back to her own star. It was beautiful certainly, in it's own way. But springtime was something that did not exist on the north star. "You're lucky. Polaris is constantly covered in snow from what I've seen."
"But anyway, always happy to lend a hand." Feeling as if she might have been neglecting Marley a bit she tried to include her the best that she could. "What about you Marley? Do you live in the city? Or further away and closer to nature?"

Marley listened as Polaris spoke about things she never knew before as they gathered leaves. She walked to the edge of the pool and dumped out her load of leaves before gathering more of them. It was interesting that all of this was happening and they managed to keep it a secret. Did that mean vampires and werewolves also existed? She didn't even want to think about that. Really, her world had already been turned upside down, she didn't need it to stretch in weird directions at the same time.
She startled a bit at the new voice, having not heard the approach of Virgo. "Oh, no problem. I mean, I'm not that injured so I decided I should be useful. Keeps me from being completely overwhelmed by everything." The thought seemed to make Marley quiet as the worry began to eat at her again. She blinked and took awhile to comprehend what they had been talking about, springtime and something about being covered in snow. Springtime is what made her brighten though. "It must be beautiful during spring! I love gardening and I bet everything just blossoms. I think I could be happy getting lost in taking care of all the plants here." It was true and yet her mind kept wandering back to the real world, to where she was from.
Marley gave a genuine smile to Polaris. "I live in the city, in a small house." She didn't say anything more than that. The smile remained plastered on her face. She would not spill her worries and troubles to them, they were probably already stressed with all the people being here that weren't supposed to be here. Instead she began to gather more leaves hoping the subject would change. Maybe they'd ask about her gardening or what school she went to or anything but her family life.

She shrugged a little. "It's hard to have weather when you don't have an atmosphere. I don't think this place has ever seen snow." You could really only see seasons from the leaves on the trees, and she didn't ask what made them sense the change of seasons. Right now, the trees were trapped in autumn; which made no sense, seeing as Virgo was bracketed by Spring and Summer. She didn't question the magic; a Crystal did it, obviously. "Polaris… is that inside Sol? I've never really left this system."
The civilian appeared to have good coping mechanisms. Virgo approved of that, and didn't really mind answering her questions. "It is lovely during spring," she agreed. "But I don't know if anything would grow. Only the trees here seem to be able to take root, although I remember the ponds having lovely flowers… They were pink and blue. I don't know the name, though." Maybe they'd been from Virgo-that-was. She didn't know.
"So do I, ma'am." She nodded to herself. "With my fathers and my brother. It's a nice little place. Are you anywhere near Abbey Road?"

The Sol system...? Polaris paused for a moment thinking, her head connecting that sol = sun as it filed through her highschool education. Thanks to Crystal Academy, and being a dedicated student it had been a good one. "Yes it's part of the Sol system. If you were ever super curious I'd be happy to take you." Personable, noone could ever accuse Polaris of not being friendly. Perhaps a bit overly so, and at times overbearing.
"It sounds pretty though" She replied again thoughtfully as she moved towards the edge to dump a few leaves out of her towel. "Swimming with flowers ringed around you sounds lovely"
"I live in a little apartment near DCU" She contributed as she set to work again, dredging through the water slowly.

The talking made the time pass pretty quickly and the frigidness of the water easier to ignore. It didn't seem long at all before most of the leaves had been cleared from the pool the three were working in.
Stepping out of the pool Polaris attempted to ring out her skirt and the bit of hair that had been long enough to fall into the water. There was still a lot of be done here for sure, but there was tons of stuff to be done everywhere.
"It was a pleasure meeting you both" She offered with a soft wave of goodbye before turning and making her way towards the rest of the Virgo outpost. Maybe she could offer a hand with the wounded before she headed off to the next outpost.
